I would have given this a 5-Star rating because the service and staff are very polite and attentive, and the chef is outstanding but our room was not well maintained. There was a hole on the wall next to bathroom mirror and another hole on the wall on the side of the door that exited the hotel room. It was a spacious room, but it needs such loving care and patching some holes and some fresh pain on the one wall near the door to leave the room.||The PROS: The chef is AMAZING! The food at this inn is outstanding. The breakfast is delicious and has a good variety. Dinner is outstanding, but there is less choices but still amazing. The desserts are very god. The afternoon tea (make a reservation) is outstanding and the chef out does himself with that event. ||The ground are impeccable and the location is in a great place to visit Loch ness and Inverness. It is a very pleasant stay minus the the lack of maintenance in our room, which was room 11 named Vorlich.||Also, keep in mind if you visit in the summer, not sure how hot it gets, but there is no A/C in the Vorlich room (not sure about the others) so you have to open the windows which have no screens. We were there when there was a heat wave for Scotland so we opened the windows and kept getting bees in our room--so just ask about A/C for the room you decide to book, at least in the hotter months. ||Overall, this would be a 5-star hotel if they would take a minute and refresh the paint, patch the holes in the wall and maybe check the furniture in the room that is ripped (in the sitting area) and clean the decorative pillows (ours had a stain on it from the last guests). It just felt like the management of this inn focuses solely on the grounds and providing outstanding customer service (which I appreciate) but it is so disappointing to pay $300 Euros a night for a not-so-well maintained room.

Even though part of the building is quite old, everything functions superbly! Better than in new buildings! The room is excellent, the stuff is helpful over and beyond any expectations (for example, we arrived late and the road was closed so we could not go to town, the restaurant served let us order dinner half an hour after the kitchen closed). The building is beautiful inside and outside. Most recommended!

Stayed there for one night and wished we’d stayed longer! Gent on reception was very attentive and polite on arrival. Dined in restaurant and food was AMAZING!! Staff at dinner were very helpful and friendly. Room was great and spotless. Breakfast and waitress service again, was 10/10! (#hotmilk 😉) On departure we were chatting to same gent as check-in. We mentioned we had family event in afternoon and he kindly offered us use of room, if we wished, to change clothes. We will definitely return.

The Loch Ness Country House Hotel was just what we needed—a peaceful escape from the city. Set in the quiet countryside, we woke to the sound of birds each morning—bliss||We had requested a ground floor room due to my partner’s walking difficulties, and the staff were wonderfully accommodating. Our junior suite had classic charm, and the modern bathroom was a pleasant surprise.||The staff were warm and attentive. It’s a small boutique hotel, so things may take a little longer, but everything gets done with care.||The location is great—just 10 minutes to the city centre by taxi, which the staff can help arrange easily.||The food was the star! (Apart from the staff) Breakfast featured local produce, and dinner was a highlight—delicious from start to finish with generous portions. Afternoon tea was also enjoyable and very filling.||We loved our stay—so much heart and character. We’ll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone in need of a real reset.

We stayed in one of the cottages, which was a bit tired and dirty, but comfortable. Amazing water pressure in the shower! The staff was lovely and the food was outstanding at both dinner and breakfast. F the room had been cleaner it would have been a 5 star stay!

Superb! I loved my night here. The room was really a suite, with a separate lounge, and dinner and breakfast were excellent. Some furnishings were a little old-fashioned perhaps and had what I would call 'patina' but it just added character. Lovely building and grounds and great staff. And to top it all, very good value for money - unlike my next night, in Dornoch Castle Hotel.

We planned to stay two nights at the Loch Ness Country Hotel. We were expecting poor weather, but the sun was shining and the weather perfect. The hotel is an classic building, the room is amazing, really a suite, not a room, with a wonderful view to the landscape, an enormous bed and a great bathroom.|The first day we had dinner at the hotel. Amazing experience, fantastic food (we had one of the best lambs ever), exceptional service.

Three star decor. I felt much of it was tired and in desperate need of a refresh for the 2025 season.||On the picky side for example, table tops in the lounge that lacked revarnishing.||On the blatant oversight side, a non functional lamp stand in the seating area of our junior suite witb a lamp shade that looked as if it had lost a fight with a cup of coffee!||The excellent staff swiftly resolved it's non functionally by replacing it. However, should that not have been checked before our occupancy?||The staff were five star however. Nothing was a problem. They bent over backwards for us.||The food was also sumptuous and well proportioned. ||Will we stay there again? Yes, absolutely.
