Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa

Just spent a fantastic 2 nights at Lochgreen. Our room was wonderful and the view across to the sea was stunning. I would definitely recommend visiting the spa facilities if you can. The food was good, but not spectacular. But it was the service that really made the stay. All the staff we spoke to, from reception, restaurant, bar, spa, to the manager were so friendly, helpful, courteous. It felt like they were really interested in you and ensuring you had a wonderful stay. We will be back 😊

We came here for an overnight winter break following my wife's recent episode of Shingles. This 5 star hotel lived up to its reputation. The hotel is beautifully furnished. It was a bit disappointing that some of the living flames fires did not give out much heat-if any, but we found one which did and enjoyed a welcome beverage beside it in the comfortable lounge area. Overall the hotel was warm. The bedroom was fantastic, everything we could wish for, except a fridge, which we thought a bit odd, but what a view, watching the sun setting over Ailsa Craig!|The staff were most welcoming and helpful.|Dinner was of a very high standard. For mains I had a ribeye and my wife chicken. Both cooked to perfection. Very nice house wine accompanied the food. Service was first class.|We were very lucky with dry, crisp weather and the following morning after a hearty, cooked Scottish breakfast drove to the nearby beach for a bracing winter walk.|The only hiccup was at checkout with a misunderstanding over the cost. Reception insisted we were on an Itison deal, which had a lower allowance for dinner. We were able to show the staff the confirmation email they had sent us, which had nothing to do with Itison, and the matter was satisfactorily resolved.|We highly recommended this hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Lochgreen. Lunch, dinner & breakfast all delicious. Staff are so friendly & professional. Our room was immaculate & very well appointed. Restaurant & cocktail lounge are both lovely.

We have been frequenting Lochgreen for more years than I care to remember. Always a lovely experience and a warm welcome always extended. Staff are very friendly and helpful .|Hotel and grounds are immaculate. Traditional Xmas Decorations just beautiful. |Portion sizes were very small and we have very small appetites!! Choices taken from Festive Menu so this could be the reason. |Poached Pear starter consisted of two slices of very finely sliced pineapple and two slivers of pear! Corn Fed Chicken was tough and was served with small round of fondant potatoes, few string beans, lentils and a watery peppercorn sauce. Not what you expect at Lochgreen House Hotel:(🎄

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would, without hesitation. We attended for an evening meal to meed family prior to a wedding the next day. We had a wonderful meal with excellent service. We attended the wedding the next day and were there for 11 hours. Not once did we want for anything. We were so so well looked after. Even when we had to wait a short while for photographs to be taken etc. Staff would come around with drinks and canapés. Seats and extra chairs were found in a flash if needed and also whisked away when not needed. The food was amazing!!! Pre ordered and the waiting staff brought us exactly what we ordered without having to ask. They were extremely efficient delivering the meals, drinks etc. The food was hot, delicious and just simply wonderful. Well exceeded our expectations. All staff were amazing, anything you wanted was delivered to you before you even knew you wanted it. Even down the the man who came through the foyer with his vacuum cleaner at half past midnight and took the trouble to ask if there was anything we needed and made sure we had a taxi booked to take us home. I would not hesitate to recommend Lochgreen, I can honestly say it's the most enjoyable place I've ever been.

Popped in for a cake and cup of tea one afternoon |The bar area was decorated nicely for Xmas and someone showed us the way in from the reception area and let us choose where we wanted to sit.|We ordered tea and coffee, and really fancied a sweet treat, but didn’t want a full afternoon tea. On chatting to the lovely waitress she recommended a scone cream and jam, so we chose that. The scones were the best I have ever eaten and were hand made by the chef. Such a light tasty scone, I could have eaten more. ||Overall, we were very content with the service and the food. What a lovely treat on a wet afternoon in December.

Went here with friends for afternoon tea. The service was excellent and and selection of sandwiches and cakes were fantastic. My only criticism was the scones weren't warm, but that's my personal preference. Will definitely be returning as really enjoyed it

Went here with friends to celebrate their birthday. We had afternoon tea and the sandwiches were excellent as were the quiches and the haggis bon bons were amazing. The cakes and scones were very good too. Will definitely be returning

We had a lovely stay at the Lochgren House. The rooms are spacious, equipped with coffee, tea and waters. The beds are comfortable. The shower was very tight for a large bathroom but the water pressure was good. The food and drinks in the dining room and bar were very tasty and worth making the reservation in advance. Would definitely stay again but since our room (3) was directly above where people stood to smoke and chat we will ask for a different room next time.

Wonderful place ! The lochgreen is a hotel and a restaurant with a terrace located in an amazing park. This place is absolutely outstanding. The decoration in the hotel is beautiful and the restaurant is fabulous. The place was booked for a large group and we had the aperitif in the terrace. The bar was open for us in the area we were. Varieties of beers and alcohol in the bar. The food was good in the restaurant and they adapted the cooking for the food intolerant. Nice souvenir of the place !

Had breakfast and lunch in the hotel during the Scottish Open with my two sons. Several golfers stayed there and were having breakfast with us such as Rory Macilroy and Andrew Levy to name a few! They had their families with them also! Food was over the top fantastic! Staff amazing! Royalty treatment! A must for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

It was a little more than we had budgeted for during our trip, but it was worth every cent. The room was huge, the food great and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Give yourself a treat and stay here.

Fabulous hotel in old fashioned classic design. The staff are very friendly and treat you like you are royalty. The room we stayed in was really large and comfortable. The only downfall is that it is looking a wee bit tired and could do with an uplift but it wasnt enough to put me off going back. Another point would be that you really need a car as the hotel is not in walking distance of shopping, siteseeing or activities (except a golf course). The meal we had in the restaurant was exceptional and well worth the 'not so expensive' price tag. I have paid more for a meal in a chef's restaurant in Glasgow and came away disappointed and still hungry but there was no chance of that at Lochgreen. As well as the courses you choose, they throw in extras which makes the experience even better. Breakfast was just as good and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The service and food were both excellent. We had a festive menu, and we are looking forward to going again in the new year to try the "normal" menu and I hope this will be s new regular venue for my wife and I.
