This is a gorgeous hotel in lovely grounds near the golf courses. We had lunch in the stunning Copper Beech bar, a first visit since it was added on to the hotel a couple of years ago.Really an very impressive, attractive interior.|My Caesar Salad was excellent, really strong flavours, as it should have and plenty of it.My husband’s Club Sandwich was great too.Extra portion of chips were first class.|Then we chose desserts….|The Meringue tasted nothing like meringue, one of my favourite puddings. It was bright pink and had a very strange, overly sweet flavour. Not nice.Fruit coulis that came with it was almost solid, couldn’t get it to pour out of the small jug.|Very odd because their sister hotel at Duck Bay on Loch Lomond does very good home made meringues and is known for them.|Apple Crumble was a pie base, minimal crumble topping - a poor replica of this top notch pudding and not one I’d ever order here again.|We will come back , as it’s such a lovely environment with good walks nearby, but will, sadly, avoid the desserts.
