We read so many reviews about how good this place was so we made a special trip to stop by on our NC500 route. My husband and I loved it so much! We both had a steak and ale pie with mashed potatoes and then shared the apple pie for dessert. We have raved about these pies since we had them. We even came back for a second round on our most recent trip. So good!

Simply the best pies in the world! If you are passing highly recommend a visit or actually worth the detour. We have been visiting here for 20 years and they never disappoint. The pies are full of yumminess and the pastry so good. Get the pie meal for an amazing meal - pie, delicious sautéed potatoes, peas and the best onion gravy. We also had a delicious traybake to takeaway. The service is efficient and friendly in a lovely traditional small restaurant.

We drove here from Inverness just for the pies but unfortunately they were sold out of all but 2 (shows how good they are!). Nevertheless, the remaining pies that we did have were delicious, filling and so full of flavour. So much so, we got 2 of their sweet pies to bring home with us. Lovely accommodating staff, nice environment within the place and free parking nearby.

I'd seen a favourite Youtuber of mine buying and eating a pie from here and his review made me want to call in, so as I was picking my kids up from Durness thought why not take the (Sizeable) detour to visit. I'd told my kids that this is supposed to be the best pie shop in the UK and all 3 of us were keen to find out. On arrival at approx 10.30 on Friday 8th of Nov the shop was empty of customers (But not for long) so we had time to browse the pies and ask questions of the friendly lady behind the counter. We settled on our order and were salivating as we smelled our pies being heated. I bought 4 (One to eat then, the others to take home) Steak and ale, Haggis neeps and tatties, Bonfire smoked chilli and Venison and cranberry) the kids (Aged 26 and 27) bought 3 each: Steak and ale, Pork and apple, Bonfire smoked chilli and Apple and blueberry. We ate our pies sat in the sunshine overlooking the loch which was simply stunning, as I have to say were the pies, we were not disappointed, in fact they exceeded all our expectations and we all agreed these were the best pies we had ever eaten. My one and only regret is the pie I had seen reviewed (Pork and chorizo) wasn't available that day but my steak and ale soon made me forget. It is even possible to have pies delivered anywhere in the UK for a very reasonable cost (Minimum order 12 pies) this is something I am considering for the future as living in Sheffield (510 miles away) nipping up there isn't really feasible though I am returning on Monday 17th when I take my Son back to Durness as, well why not😊? 😪 Just checked and to my dismay it's closed on Mondays.

Oh wow!!! That’s all I need to say! The savoury pies were absolutely delicious and we are so glad we stopped! Have they heated for you-just divine! Some great flavours and we all thought what we chose was the best! We will be ordering online!!

If you’re driving the NC 500 or staying in Loch Inver & don’t stop in here for pies, you’ve made a terrible mistake. Arguably the best pies, both savory & sweet, I’ve ever eaten. I could eat the venison & cranberry pie every day for the rest of my life. The broccoli, cauliflower, & cheese is also 10/10. The strawberry and rhubarb pie is perfection along with the apple & black currant pie. You cannot go wrong at this lovely restaurant!

I last visited here about 15 years ago. I'm doing the NC500 with a friend and have been raving about the pies here, with the caveat that it was 15 years ago. Lunch today - fab, tastetastic! It didn't disappoint. Still as good as it was. Thanks.

Was there for lunch last week. Best steak pie I’ve ever had in my life. Do not miss this if you’re in the area.

Yelp
Came in here expecting something good but was sorely disappointed by service that was fussy, slow, and a bit rude.

Yelp
This was the best lunch we've ever had in the UK. We came in on a very cold day and sat in the solarium and between that and the food warmed from the inside out. We had a starter of fish cakes and each had a pie. These were the best pies of our lives. My husband had the venison and cranberry and I had the pork chorizo and manchego cheese. The crust was flaky and delicate. The filling was well blended and distributed so that you had everything in every bite. It was excellent and so delicious. We were incredibly sad the experience had to end. Highly recommended to absolutely everyone always. If we lived here we would be incredibly fat.

Yelp
Fantastic Pies!! Steak and Ale for me and venison and cranberry for my girl. Really nice place, clean and quaint. Perfect lunch spot.

Yelp
The pies are pretty fantastic with very inventive fillings eg. Venison with apricot etc. Locals rave about it and seem to travel the distance for the pies. We loved the pies but other food was meh. The service is excruciatingly slow. Why does it take 45 minutes to bring you a pie that's ready and is on the display and you are the only customer. We wanted a quick stopover but were there for 2 hours!

Yelp
oh pie!!!! I love this place - we holiday in this area often so have visited Lochinver Larder numerous times. Lots of serioulsy stuffed pies with great fresh fillings haggis, salmon, venision- not at all stodgy and just so mmm mmm mmm delicious!! This is definitely a place for serious calorie consumption so make allowances for that and don't be a wuss - a savoury followed by a sweet pie (or vice versa depending on your preferences) is the way to go no "Oh no I'm full" no "i'm on a diet", just eat and enjoy! Go for a walk up a mountain afterwards if you are feeling too guilty!

Yelp
We were getting married in the village and wanted to bring everyone out for a casual meal in the evening on the day after. Ian and his team were very helpful and organised and looked after our big party of about 60 guests exceptionally well. Everyone was very happy with the evening, the food and the service. While everyone talks about how good the pies are (they are delicious!), my favourites were actually the roe deer fillet, the accompaniments (buttery mash, and perfectly cooked veggies), and the homemade cakes (I took the almond and date tart home with me and had it for breakfast with tea). A big thumbs up from us!
