Amazing pies. Really excellent. Filled to the brim with filling. The only thing missing from the menu is mashed potato. New potatoes, yes. Potato salad (which was excellent, by the way), yes. But no mash. Grab some pies to takeaway and you won't regret it.

If you're a fan of proper homemade pies, this place is an absolute must-visit. The pies here are to die for — hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We tried the steak and ale and the cauliflower pie, and both were incredible. The steak and ale was rich and tender, with a perfectly flaky crust, while the cauliflower pie was packed with flavor and a great vegetarian option. It’s the kind of comforting, satisfying food that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates top-quality homemade cooking!

Hands down the best pies I've tasted, filled to the right amount and thinish pastry, making it the best combination. We had a steak and ale and also a chicken, Haggis and peppercorn! It's just amazing. We sat outside along the shoreline whilst enjoying a local beer and cider, also purchased there! I would definitely recommend making a stop to try!

We did the nc500 over the October half term , and this is one of the stops I had planned, wasn’t disappointed, friendly staff and really nice food , I had the chicken and haggis pie , we got there for around opening, and within half an hour all the tables were full so I advise to get here early , you can park directly outside the front but not many places there due to size of the road, we parked a minutes walk down the road in the public car park, plenty of space there

We took away, but selected heated option! They have amazing seating area outside and the weather was sunny and beautiful! Best pies I’ve personally tried, plenty of options including vegan and sweet ones! 🙌🙌🙌 Should be a must visit place in everyone’s plan

Sooo much choice! Loads of veggie and meat options. We had ours cold on a walk as picnic but I’d probably eat in next time or warm up at home. Quite expensive but they are huge and filled to the brim. The chocolate/pear/almond was the best of everything we had!! Warmed up in the oven.

A great selection of pies, with both classic and more unexpected fillings. We tried the steak & ale, chicken, haggis & peppercorn, chicken curry, bolognese, and creamy pesto chicken - all full of flavour. We also picked up a couple of sweet pies, though we’ve yet to try those. I wouldn’t go as far as calling them the best pies in the world, but they were certainly tasty and well worth a visit if you’re in the area or passing by.

Popped into Lochinver Larder with Gary during a Rabbie’s Highland excursion and loved it. Gary went for the venison & prawns “surf and turf,” and I had the fillet steak with chips and peppercorn sauce — cooked perfectly. Great service, a lovely location, and a brilliant stop on a long Highland day out.

Yelp
Came in here expecting something good but was sorely disappointed by service that was fussy, slow, and a bit rude.

Yelp
This was the best lunch we've ever had in the UK. We came in on a very cold day and sat in the solarium and between that and the food warmed from the inside out. We had a starter of fish cakes and each had a pie. These were the best pies of our lives. My husband had the venison and cranberry and I had the pork chorizo and manchego cheese. The crust was flaky and delicate. The filling was well blended and distributed so that you had everything in every bite. It was excellent and so delicious. We were incredibly sad the experience had to end. Highly recommended to absolutely everyone always. If we lived here we would be incredibly fat.

Yelp
Fantastic Pies!! Steak and Ale for me and venison and cranberry for my girl. Really nice place, clean and quaint. Perfect lunch spot.

Yelp
The pies are pretty fantastic with very inventive fillings eg. Venison with apricot etc. Locals rave about it and seem to travel the distance for the pies. We loved the pies but other food was meh. The service is excruciatingly slow. Why does it take 45 minutes to bring you a pie that's ready and is on the display and you are the only customer. We wanted a quick stopover but were there for 2 hours!

Yelp
oh pie!!!! I love this place - we holiday in this area often so have visited Lochinver Larder numerous times. Lots of serioulsy stuffed pies with great fresh fillings haggis, salmon, venision- not at all stodgy and just so mmm mmm mmm delicious!! This is definitely a place for serious calorie consumption so make allowances for that and don't be a wuss - a savoury followed by a sweet pie (or vice versa depending on your preferences) is the way to go no "Oh no I'm full" no "i'm on a diet", just eat and enjoy! Go for a walk up a mountain afterwards if you are feeling too guilty!

Yelp
We were getting married in the village and wanted to bring everyone out for a casual meal in the evening on the day after. Ian and his team were very helpful and organised and looked after our big party of about 60 guests exceptionally well. Everyone was very happy with the evening, the food and the service. While everyone talks about how good the pies are (they are delicious!), my favourites were actually the roe deer fillet, the accompaniments (buttery mash, and perfectly cooked veggies), and the homemade cakes (I took the almond and date tart home with me and had it for breakfast with tea). A big thumbs up from us!
