Nice little store. Novelty items I was happy to see. Their Chocolate Chip Banana Pudding is delicious. Highly recommend. There is also a porch in front and on the side (they have rocking chairs) to sit and relax while you enjoy your treat. A grassy area down past the parking lot with Umbrella picnic tables. Extremely Dog Friendly. There is also a parking lot in the back. The driveway is on the left side of the house.

Cute store. The Popsicles are a 10/10. You can tell they are made with real ingredients. I had the strawberry lemonade and it hit the spot.

I ordered a couple bottles of wine (discoteca by Holiday) for pickup here because I couldn't find them local and saw them listed on their website. Online order was a breeze and once I realized it was a dessert shop with some souvenir-ish merchandise, I was excited to pick up the bottles. I swung by on Tuesday around noon and it was not very busy at all. I perused the dessert section and ended up getting a small cup of the chocolate peppermint soft serve. It was delicious and the perfect portion! The shop itself is cute, looks like it's a repurposed home and I enjoyed browsing through the merchandise. They had some interesting selections of wine and beer that I would definitely try next time.

Google
Delicious and creative ice cream shop! However, this is much more than just an ice cream shop. They also have cute cards and puzzles, and act as a locally-sourced grocery store with farm fresh milk, eggs, pasta, etc. Overall, this is up there with the Duke Gardens as one of my favorite places in Durham.

Loved the place! Plenty of flavors to choose from, all super good! Personnel is really nice and attentive. Plenty of sitting area around place, recommend it!

LocoPops is more than delicious paletas - it's also a small store featuring local products and a moderately priced wine selection. First, the paletas - I tried the Mexican chocolate and the lemon curd. Both were great - super creamy and smooth textures. The Mexican chocolate wasn't too sweet, my concern when it's not dark chocolate, and the spices were complimentary and balanced. The lemon curd tasted like lemon curd - there were bits of lemon zest peppered throughout. They offer other frozen treats that I didn't try - ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, and other items. But if they're as good as the paletas, then they're worth a try. The other half of the store has food for before the ice cream - if you're an adult and follow those rules. Local products ranging from pasta, to bread, meats, and the like. Not all of the items are local - condiments, tinned fish, wines, and others. It's worth noting the wine selection - they work with a local distributor to pick wines at a certain price point. Most everything I saw was between $15-25 - I appreciate a place that works to keep a selection affordable. It ranged from whites to reds, some naturally fermented, and from all over the world - Italy, France, and Germany were some that I noticed. The bottles also had nice hanging tags that described the wine and what would be nice to pair with it. This was a great find on this work trip!

I heard about a popsicle store in Durham and wanted to make sure we paid a visit, of course. Didn’t disappoint! Lots of great popsicle flavors and ice creams, too. Also neat: an attached tiny grocery store selling all kinds of food products. We had such a good time we went on successive nights! Has a nice outdoor space.

The yummy popsicles were a huge hit on a hot day! Nice covered porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the treats. 10/10!

Yelp
Wow! I can't believe it was our first time here because they are truly something special. We got a Cherry Lime and a Pineapple Jalapeño paleta which were both amazing with tons of flavor. I was not expecting to like the jalapeño but it was perfectly balanced sweet and spicy. We also got a horchata milkshake which was just perfect. Even though they specialize in pops the ice cream is just as good and they had so many cool flavors so we will definitely be back to try more. They sell by the pint and quart as well. They also had a dessert case with banana pudding, pies, and cakes, as well as cinnamon buns from Lutra Cafe. They seem very allergy friendly with notes for what includes dairy, gluten, eggs, or nuts and a message encouraging customers to feel comfortable asking about other possible allergens so they can best accommodate you. There are so many seatings areas to choose from. There is a small area inside, a covered patio with rocking chairs, and a backyard with umbrella covered picnic tables and plenty of grass space. We saw people on a picnic date and kids running around just such a fun space. The shopping areas inside really surprised us. There was so many local goodies to look at. The pre made meals looked really nice. Lots of jar goods like jams and sauces. They also had books, puzzles, stickers, shirts, a huge selection of greeting cards, and more. There is also a wine and beer section but what stood out to me was the selection of non alcoholic options and CBD/THC beverages. It's a smaller selection of course but still good considering there is not a ton of places to buy them around here. The service was also great. They are hiring right now and seem understaffed but the young man who helped us was so very kind and helpful and we didn't wait long for our shake at all. We had such a good time exploring and we love having a space where you can support multiple local businesses at once. A must check out for sure!

Yelp
I got the blueberry lavender pie and my kiddo got the strawberry lemonade popsicle, both were amazing! They have a surprising amount of awesome outdoor seating options that we took advantage of! Very family friendly and laid back vibe. Cashiers are always happy to give recommendations and patiently wait while you decide

Yelp
TLDR: Flavorful, delicious popsicles with unique flavors. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to visit their Chapel Hill and Raleigh stores before they closed. However, some places in Raleigh do sell Locopops. Recently I found them at Riparian. I chose the Mexican chocolate and Key Lime Pie. The flavors are unique and taste delicious. The popsicles have strong flavors and ideal textures. They were pricy, but may be cheaper at the Durham location. Prices are comparable to other local Popsicle stores. The quality is high and exceeds those you can find at grocery stores. Overall, we enjoyed Locopops and recommend these popsicles to others!

Yelp
been buying locopops for well over decade and will say their pops are truly some of the best. Recently, however, I tried their coconut cream pie ($15 for half a pie) and it was absolutely terrible--filling mediocre, but literally cannot cut the crust without A LOT of force with a very stout knife--impossible to cut/break crust with a fork on a plate. Stick to the pops!

Yelp
Just had some Locopops at the recent Nasher event...And they did not disappoint...Always great and now the weather is getting hot what better time to get some nice and cool refreshments.......Definitely whether it is a event or at their location, I would recommend Locopops..The Orange Mango was delicious.....Maybe next time I might get a little more exotic in terms of flavor....

Yelp
Locopops did not disappoint. I took my pup on a long walk to and from Duke Gardens and decided to stop in to a popsicle on the way back to cool us down. My pup ordered the Pupsicle and I had the strawberries and cream. After my pup figured out how to eat the pupsicle she devoured it. I know she loved it because she is typically very well behaved but she attempted to get a bite of mine as well! Mine was delicious!

David L.

Yelp
Perfect cold treat on a warm day. The horchata pop was delicious and the kids loved the strawberry lemonade pops!

Yelp
Locopops has been a Durham staple for years and it always hits the spot. They have a wide variety of flavors and are constantly trying new limited time flavors as well. If you are in the Durham area, be sure to give it a try!

Yelp
I'm not sure if this is a hidden gem in Durham, but it is a gem and you should go. Great non-dairy options, but I personally love the cream-based pops. They also have pup pops which include a rawhide bone, so please enjoy this picture of my pup eating a pop and make sure to bring yours to experience the same bliss.

Yelp
I love Locopops. They have ice cream and some other stuff, but I've really only had the popsicles. The lemon curd is my favorite, it's a milky/lemon flavor. I've also had mojito, which is very refreshing. I would honestly try any of their flavors, after how much I've enjoyed the ones I have tried. They have a nice backyard area with grass and adironack chairs.

Yelp
This will be quick since we got ice cream cookies instead of their famous popsicles (which we've had before). We were actually at the co-located food store and wandered over to the Locopops side. We wanted something we could take with us and got two ice cream cookies, which we ate when we got home. The cookies were good but the vanilla ice cream was just so so. We've been spoiled by the ice cream cookies at Rose's Noodles & Sweet shop downtown. We'll stick to the popsicles next time.

Yelp
I finally had a Chance to go to the brick n mortar and omg!! The best ice cream you will ever have! It is creamy and velvety smooth! The flavors are rich but not overwhelming. I had the chocolate hazelnut and butter brittle. Both are so good! The staff are nice and friendly. They will let you sample the ice cream. They also have paletas which I've tried and love, as does my son. We bought paletas to bring home. Please open another shop at Wendell- Wendell Falls community!!!

Yelp
Locopops is a wonderful staple in the Durham area. Their flavors are so lovely, especially after a hot summer walk to the shop. I also love that they have mini popsicles for events- I always get cookies and cream, but have heard rave reviews about their strawberry lemonade popsicles.
google avatar

Yelp
Ugh! The lemon curd pops are so good!!! It tastes like a block of frozen freshly made lemon curd- not watered down at all. It was about $3. I would highly recommend coming here if you have a sweet tooth and on a budget. They also have a small store at which they sell sundries. Their wares are a bit pricey for me, but all of the goods were unique and would make great gifts.

Yelp
If you go to Duke Gardens (highly recommend!), and walk to the amphitheater area where the rows of tulips and a pavilion are, to the right of the gardens is Terrace Cafe which is open seasonally from April to November. Inside, they sell various snacks and also Locopops. They have a good selection of half with dairy and half without. At the recommendation of the registrar there, I got Mexican Chocolate which has dairy for $4. I found out later I could've walked 26 minutes (or driven 3 minutes) and got the same ice cream pop at Locopops for $3. Well, because I liked Mexican Chocolate ice cream pop (nice and creamy with a cinnamon taste), I did walk over. There were two paths to get there, and I took the one that went through campus and the hospital, and liked seeing a bit more of Duke Campus that way. There's also a few restaurants along the walk as well. Locopops is next to two cafes, one that does bubble tea and another tea and coffee. If you want something sweet, you'll definitely have your pick. The exterior of Locopops kind of looks like a regular house. It has a small porch area and part of it has been converted to a seating area. There's just a few chairs on the porch (rocking chairs? Swing?), which seem like the best ones, and a lot more lawn chairs in the back area which you get to by walking around the store and through the parking lot. You'll find a medium sized lawn with brightly colored chairs. The interior is one part pantry items and one part ice cream parlor. The pantry part sells locally made bread, artisan chocolate (with artisan prices), colorful pasta, drink mix liquor, soaps and balms, spices and some alcoholic beverages. It's a well stocked shop, with unique brands. The white paneled walls give a country store feel. Some items are pricy, but seem unique. And thankfully the prices were also all online so I knew what to expect. I also appreciated the price stickers on each item, and a small clearance section. I would probably shop here for Whole Foods alternative items, if I was looking for Italian or Mexican specialty items too. And some Jewish bread too! The ice cream parlor was a bit empty. When you go to an ice cream place you expect to see more ice cream. What confused me was that some of it was behind the counter where I couldn't see it. Maybe a covid measure, I don't know, as perhaps they don't want people to handle the ice cream pops as they are wrapped but with an open end. Different from the Duke Gardens location which had a full seal. But anyway, I ordered from the blackboard, and got Lemon Curd from the recommendations here. Also a dairy option, like Mexican Chocolate. I think the flavor was sweet and tangy, and a tad mild. I was expecting more lemon, but got the lemon plus cream flavor. If you like fresh but not powerful lemon, perhaps this is the flavor for you. I was tempted to go for another pop, and could have, as the pops are medium but not large or extra large sized. While the shop sells "baby pops" for kids, i think most would find the regular size kid friendly. Perhaps baby pops would work for the very young (toddler or the sugar sensitive). I thought the $3 price was decent though and as I appreciate craft ice cream, I didn't mind the little lesser size of the ice cream pop. And about flavors, there were some unique flavors on the main blackboard menu, but not too crazy. I actually would've preferred crazier flavors. I wish I saw the special flavors that were taped to the counter where the cash register was, which had some more interesting flavors on the "guest list" which I would've been interested in. Overall, my impression is Locopops is a good mix of nicely priced main items (ice cream and fruit ice pops) and more upscale specialty items, with a good website that reflects accurate prices as well as item availability. The Locopops website also has a lot more info on the items and the makers so I recommend it. I think the shop could use a little more help with signage, pointing to the special flavors as well as the extra seating area. Bonus points for the spacious family style restroom (one toilet only) with the nice changing table for infants. If you have young ones try to snatch the porch seats as they seem fun to rock on.

Yelp
Our apartment community in Chapel Hill paid for LocoPops popsicles for all residents until supplies ran out. LocoPops has an old little VW van that they use as their "food truck" for catering events. You can either pay for everyone or have customers walk up and pay individually. For more info on LocoPops van catering, visit https://ilovelocopops.com/catering/. Our apartment's leasing office handed out raffle tickets that allowed one free pop per resident (in addition to an independently-held raffle for the community, unrelated to LocoPops). The van had a chalkboard menu of at least 8-10 pop flavors, from creamy pops to fruit pops. Flavors that were no longer available and had "sold out" were crossed out. My wife picked Moroccan Milkshake, our friend picked Strawberries & Cream, and I got Cookies & Cream. My wife thought the Moroccan Milkshake was really good. It reminded her of kulfi which is an Indian frozen dairy dessert (dense and creamy). She thinks there were ground-up nuts in the pop based on its consistency. The flavors were complex and included hints of cardamom and rose. Our friend who got the Strawberries & Cream said it tasted like strawberry ice cream. He thought it was good. My Cookies & Cream pop was excellent. Five stars. It had an entire Oreo (or Oreo-like) sandwich cookie in it. I was impressed. I love Oreos and this was even better than Oreos. It was extra creamy and deliciously satisfying. Texturewise, the pop had a great balance between creaminess and iciness. It had a delectable "chew" to it. Overall, we were very happy with these well-made and high-quality pops. Service was fantastic too. The lady working through the van's small window was nice and friendly. She asked if we'd like our pops in a bag. LocoPops is based in a brick-and-mortar store in Old West Durham. It's in an old blue house. Payments are handled via Square so your receipts can be automatically emailed to you.

Yelp
I had heard of these as sometimes they are sold in a store in greensboro but I had never felt moved to try them. But it was hot and they were close by so we went. OMG! I had been missing out! I got a brownie popsicle and it was like a ultra creamy chocolate fudge pop with brownie chunks in it. Delicious! My daughter got an Oreo pop with whole cookies in it and my husband got Black Forest ice cream that he said was heaven. Now I get why they are so famous locally and why the long line! Extra points for the cute house they are in with the lawn for eating them in.

Yelp
The parking lot for this place was busy, but a much larger free lot with no apparent reason not to use it was across the street. Once inside, however, I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently business was done. They had dairy and non-dairy popsicles aplenty, but I went for ice cream, trying both a vegan chocolate brownie and a mint chip. I was kind of nonplussed with a portion size that allowed both of those to fit in a cup with a lid. The vegan flavor was definitely on the higher end of non-dairy ice creams I've tried. The first bite carried a few ice crystals but after that it was smooth and, well, creamy, with a rich flavor. The mint chip had some spearmint in it and I could see they were going for something a bit different but it didn't quite work for me. It wasn't strong enough, aromatic enough, the chips weren't plentiful enough. It just needed more. So if anything I think the vegan flavor was actually better (which was good since the amount of it in the cup was roughly 2/3 chocolate brownie to 1/3 mint). I didn't want to take a bunch of popsicles (though they will sell you a cooler if you want to transport them), but the ice cream would certainly merit a return. They had a little food market in the same building as well that's worth looking at.

Yelp
This food truck came to my job every other week this summer. Their popsicles are absolutely delicious, and I tried every flavor. They offer a lot of flavors, and vegan options. Their customer service is amazing! She had so much patient with our students and did not rush them as they choose their flavors! I can't wait to visit their physical location soon.

Yelp
My husband and I hosted an event at our apartment and we decided to use locopops and I am so happy that we did. I had been in contact with the person over events for a couple of weeks and every time we spoke she was very accommodating and nice. She made my experience with ordering very easy. The locopops shop is located in Durham off of a main road. The parking lot isn't large at all. But I am assuming a lot of people that go there walk there because there weren't very many cars but the place had plenty of people in there. The shop looks like they converted a old home into the shop which was really cute. They had plenty of places to sit. And lots of natural lighting that came into the places. They had an extensive menu with all types of sweet treats from milkshakes to popsicles! Which was awesome. I didn't have to wait for long the young lady that checked me out was very helpful. I purchased myself a pomegranate ginger popsicle and it was good. For our event we had cookies and cream, strawberries and cream, cherry lime & strawberry lemonade EVERYONE loved them! Overall we love locopops and I would definitely choose them again.

Yelp
Locopops is the cutest spot to hang out and cool down with a refreshing popsicle or scoop of homemade ice cream. It's located in an older home with a large porch; both the indoor area and the exterior are cozy and inviting. The flavors of the popsicles and ice creams are unique and varied and the prices are reasonable. Locopops is super kid-friendly, with smaller sized popsicles and a cute little kid's corner with a table and plenty of storybooks. They also have many vegan options. Allergens are noted on their menu, so you can always be sure you're getting something safe for you and your family. Locopops engages the local community with regular story times for kids, live musicians, and similar gatherings.
google avatar

Lana L.

Yelp
My boyfriend came here after lunch over the weekend. He got the cookies and cream pop and I got the Mexican chocolate. We both enjoyed our refreshing desserts and they were a reasonable price too. Don't forget napkins, unless you can eat it all before it starts dripping. It's not always easy to find a place that sells pops for dessert, so I'm glad Locopops exists! Taste | 4 Atmosphere | 3.5 Presentation | 3.5 Service | 3 OVERALL | 4

Camillia B.

Yelp
Been going here for over 15 years! So happy they're so successful. The popsicles are always amazing and locally made! Doesn't get much better than that. Oh wait...the service..always awesome! Such a kid friendly establishment!

Yelp
I've had many a locopop from various events that catered from here. But I'm way more of an ice cream gal than a popsicle gal so I definitely recommend coming here to try their scoops. Great selection of rotating flavors - I recall a lemon and olive oil flavor that was unique and actually quite good. You can also build your own ice cream sandwich. Reasonable prices, too. Workers there are friendly. Nice seating on the porch and indoors as well. Parking is along the side - not too many spaces, but I've never had an issue getting a spot.

Yelp
Wife went with the coffee ice cream. My daughter got the cookies and cream pop. I got salted Carmel and chocolate hazelnut ice cream, which tasted exactly like Nutella. Atmosphere is super cool. Loved the lamps!

Yelp
This is my go to place for popsicles and pupsicles. I love the chocolate brownie and the lemon curd popsicle. It has the perfect amount of everything. Seems like my puppy also loves his pupsicles especially in the summer! Overall, love this place and I keep coming back. They also have a cute shop next door where you can buy local goods and foods. I love it when I find Strong Arm bread.

Yelp
I love popsicles. Maybe even more than ice cream. It's refreshing and it isn't too heavy. The best thing about Locopops is that it isn't too sweet (probably because it's not loaded with sugar). I tried the mango chile because I wanted to try something different. I've never even had actual mangos with chile but thanks to this locopop, I might start. It had a refreshing sweet mango flavor with a bit of tartness, and the little bit of chili (already incorporated inside, as opposed to sprinkled on the outside) gave it a nice kick. Because one is just not enough, I also had the java chip. It was like iced coffee on a stick. Creamy, but not overly so. Strong coffee flavor, but not enough to give you jitters. It was just perfect. For $2.50 a pop, it's not bad at all. If this shop was in NYC, one of these would cost at least $5 so it's nice to get a good bang for your buck down here. Tip - get a loyalty punch card and if you buy 10 pops, you'll get the 11th for free.

Yelp
I actually had their food truck ! They were so delicious their pops they didn't taste like any fake sugars. I love supporting local businesses. Would deff visit their store front when I get the chance :)

Yelp

Yelp
why do I pay $2.25 for a popsicle?! because they are LOCAL and AMAZING. find these at any variety of places (weaver street, rebus works, honeysuckle just to name a few). They taste so fresh and are the perfect summer treat. Good variety of milk based and fruit pops. Love you locopops!!!! Bring your food truck to me forever!!!

Yelp
Locopops is definitely worth a try. I've been a couple times and each time I was pleased. I will say that even though they are good, the price is a little high for a popsicle. The only reason why I'm willing to pay the price is because of the unique flavor options. My favorite bar is strawberries and cream. The texture is creamy and the flavor is of the strawberry isn't too much. In my opinion, sometimes strawberry popsicles can have a metallic taste and I was so happy when I tried this one and I didn't get that metal taste. The flavors that I've had have been good and I haven't regretted the purchase. I will agree with a previous review and say that my popsicles haven't been spectacular, just good enough that I keep coming back and trying new flavors. The location is very cute. They bought a house and turned it into a shop. The inside isn't very large but it's not small enough to feel cramped. They have cute little spots for kids. There is a play kitchen as well as a bookshelf full of books. A piano is also inside one of the rooms. The parking lot is on the smaller side, however, parking has never been an issue for me. The parking lot is behind the building, and only one side is paved. This could be an issue for people who need handicapped parking. The only other solution would be to drop them off at the street. There is a small incline to walk up from the parking lot into the building. Make sure you take the paved route, especially after it's rained. A lady that works there said that they are working on installing a ramp they are just waiting on approval from the city.

Yelp
I tried their seasonal pumpkin spice popsicle and it was delicious! My mom got the apple pie, which had chunks of graham cracker in it and my husband got the cookies and cream flavor with big chunks of Oreo in it. Healthy? Probably not. Delicious? Yes!!! For $3 a pop, they are nice little treats to try. UPDATE: I ventured to their new brick and mortar and it's awesome!! It is a spacious house. They have lots of different flavor options of popsicles as well as some other desserts (including dessert for puppies!)
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
I was trying to decide between here and The Parlour, but as soon as I saw the pup pop, I knew we'd be going here. How is it fair for me to get a treat and not my faithful companion?? She loved it! I got a chocolate hazelnut milkshake and it tasted beautifully of hazelnuts. I wish it had been a slightly thicker milkshake, but that's just personal preference. The social distancing protocols were great. Everyone wore masks. There was only one guy there when we came. They had just opened 5 minutes before. He was incredibly kind and even brought the milkshake out to me while I sat with my pup and her ice cream on the porch. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I Love Locopops is a homemade popsicle/dessert place in Durham that focuses on natural, quality flavors that cater to both the young and young at heart in a child friendly environment. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - One thing I loved about Locopops is that this is NOT your hipster hangout. As you make your way in, you'll notice small tables & chairs for kids, and tons of artwork hung on the walls from local schools, customers, kids, etc. I like this because they know that the best customers aren't foodies who are ok with dropping $2.50 per popsicle (paleta), but instead the kid who takes a bite out of a unique, creamy Sea Salt Caramel popsicle and then sports a grin from ear to ear. Ok, maybe that was me too. 1 Star. Service - Super nice people. We came on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. The I Love Locopops staff took the time to walk us through the flavors, make suggestions, and encouraged us to be bold in our choice. We spent some time chatting about their process of making the pops & it's obvious the have a true passion around this. 1 Star. Food - We ended up choosing 3 flavors: Sea Salt Caramel, Cookies & Cream, and Root Beer Float. All three were fantastic, with the first two being cream based. I loved the Sea Salt Caramel. The salt wasn't too overbearing and made a great balance to the caramel. The Root Beer Float tasted exactly like a frozen root beer float, so if you're fan of that flavor you'll be happy to get it in frozen form. Also, the pops were $2.50 for each, which if you compare to buying the mass-produced popicles at the super market it's expensive, but to me it's the perfect price for a high quality, unique, satisfying cold dessert experience. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - No doubt about it. The next time I'm in Durham I'm going to reserve some time to visit I Love Locopops. They have seasonal & daily flavors along with best sellers no doubt I'll be back. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Yelp
"Awesome popsicles- cream or water-based." As ~40 reviews already attest, this place rocks. In addition to getting Locopops from the stores locally, they are found at various other places around town- I see them at Duke on the Plaza and in the Faculty Club snack bar, downtown at Parker & Otis, etc. The staff at the stores are always friendly and efficient. And the product is priced great for a treat- a refreshing and relatively filling snack for under $3 with tax! What could be better? Today, I attended a UYE where we sampled all 9 current cream-based flavors and voted on our favorites. Among their "Regulars", the winner was chocolate brownie (which was great, though personally I favored cookies & cream). Among the "Guest Stars" (that rotate periodically), the winner was chocolate curry (which again was great & unusual, though personally I favored the strawberry tangerine vanilla yogurt one, which comes as a hexagonal cylinder in shape). When people ask what the "must try" places unique to our area are, and for any age, this place always pops in my head in the top 3 (if not #1). As good as it gets.

Yelp
Tried their ice cream out for the first time yesterday. I got the leftover pie and chocolate hazlenut flavours and both were super yummy. My husband got the vietnemese coffee flavour and that was very good too for those who like coffee. Lot of fun flavours available to explore. Hope to visit again soon to try out their popsicles!

Yelp
I ordered ~300 locopops for a celebration - Summer was amazing to work with, very responsive and suggested some awesome flavors that were certainly crowd pleasers. They delivered to us for a small delivery fee and also provided dry ice to keep the pops ice cold. Definitely would suggest trying these sometime for an event if you are hosting one! Top Flavors: cookies & cream, double chocolate chip, sea salt caramel, strawberry lemonade and orange mango

Yelp
Hard not to give the full 5 stars. I mean, homemade paletas? What's not to love. We only had the fruity ones; the mojito, cherry lime and orange mango. Simple and tasty.

Yelp
On our first visit we tried the ice cream which was good but would probably be a 4 star review. But in our second visit we tried the fruit flavored pops and they are a solid 5. They have many different, interesting flavors. We tried the Mighty Mojito (our favorite!) and Orange Mango and both were very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. A perfect summer treat!

Yelp
Love these folks. They have lots of interesting flavors, all of which are tasty. I really like the Mexican chocolate locopop but also get into their ice cream and cookies when I'm looking for a treat. Good folks, good energy!

Yelp
If you want the best popsicles in town, come here! They have a regular list of popsicles and also a rotating list of monthly popsicles. My go to is the Mexican chocolate or lemon curd. Their staff is always very friendly and even though it's $3 a popsicle, they are well worth it! Always a go to when I have friends coming to visit.

Yelp
This local place was so delicious! The pops were $2.50 each which was totally a fair detail. They had a wide range of flavors so something for everyone. If I lived in the area I would be a regular.

Yelp
I love locopops! I came here with college friends for the nostalgia of the Locopops stand that used to be my favorite place to get a creamy popsicle after a long exam on Duke's West campus. Locopops is conveniently located near 9th street with a small but adequate parking lot and a bright interior. I ordered the "special" flavor Thai Rice Pudding and my husband got a Cookies and Cream popsicle. The creamy popsicles are $5 and the fruity/sorbet-y popsicles are a bit less. We ate our popsicles outside where I was delighted to find old freezers repurposed into garden planters with blooming flowers overflowing out of them. The Thai Rice Pudding popsicle was delicious with a dash of cinnamon and some other spices (cloves?), didn't melt too fast, but fast enough that I had to slurp a little to get every bit of the creamy drops. I definitely recommend it. My husband's Cookies and Cream was also good with big chunks of Oreos---always a classic Locopop flavor. We will be back for more Locopops!

Yelp
I can only speak to the lemon curd pop but good gosh it was delicious. Well worth the $3. If you're in the area check it out! They have a wide variety of flavors so there's something for everyone.

Yelp
Went to check out Locopops on a Sunday afternoon. They had a nice crowd but not crazy. I was intrigued by their flavors and settled with the Strawberry Lemonade. My mother got the orange mango. Both were delicious and super refreshing! The location is in an older house that has a nice sized front porch that people relaxed on while eating their treats. Inside they had a cute area for kids with a small table and chairs and lots of books. I didn't know they also had ice cream and other items. I'm excited to come back and try more flavors!

Yelp
Ice cream Vanilla fleur de sel - 4 stars Loved the vanilla bean specks and vanilla flavor. It was creamy but melted too quickly. Tasted just as good if not better than The Parlour. Black Forest - 3 stars The chocolate base wasn't fantastic and I think the cherry flavour was a bit too artificial. Pastries Blueberry crumble - 3.75 stars Tasted more like blueberry pie! Surprisingly one of the better pies I've had in the area, though that might not be saying much. Chocolate chip oat cookie - 2.5 stars Texture wasn't quite to my liking - even warm it was hard and the flavour didn't stand out.

Yelp
A classic, good popsicles. I've been eating their popsicles for 10 years. I like the lime!

Yelp
Yes, I will proudly own up to the fact that I am LOCO for Locopops! I literally walked past of group of young children acting crazy yesterday and can confirm that their mothers said, "stop acting crazy, you can act loco at Locopops!" I go crazy for all their fruity flavors and for only $2.50 a pop, you really can't go wrong. {You can purchase kid-sized pops for $1.50 and they are in the process of starting a gelato feature at the shop--prices TBD}. Things you should know: the location is walking distance from Ninth Street, so if you're touring Durham and end up on Ninth Street, walk to this shop! Guest Star and Special pops change months. I both love and hate this feature because (1) some of my favorite pops have been the guest pops {guava grapefruit and passionfruit!!} but I also would die if I was never able to try those pops. I personally love the fruit pops over the cream pops, but to each his or her own. The mojito is excellent as well, but now they've added coconut to it, I cannot yet vouch for it! Pick up a punch card, you'll get every 10th pop FREE! And believe me, it's easy to buy ten pops! Dog {and child} friendly--they've even got pops for your pets for $2/each. Plus some {very used} books for your tots and the free temporary tattoos are always a big hit! I rank Locopops at the top of my "to bring visitors" list because it's fast, delicious, friendly and a long standing Durham staple! This is my NINE-HUNDRETH (not a word) review! The big 9.0.0!! Although I feel that living in the Triangle (NC) number 9.1.9. should be extra special as well!
