According to Lonely Planet this is the best beach bar in the whole of Costa Rica. So we had to go and have a look. And we can't disagree. Attentive owner. Great food. And a simply wonderful location. Bit of a bone shaking ride to get there, but well worth the effort.

LocosCocos is a really nice and relaxed little place right at the beach front. The owners are very welcoming and the food is delicious and freshly made. We had the catch of the day (snapper) and a passionfruit smoothie. Both was delicious. Also, we really enjoyed watching the sunset at the beach. We can highly recommend coming here!

Amazing ceviche at a good price right on the beach, absolutely beautiful place to stop by at for lunch or dinner. The owner is very nice and happy to make recommendations about the area! We even got a great little dessert treat! (Photo is with the owner :)

What a paradise: simple, very calm on the beach juste behind the coconut palm trees, a very nice ceviche de pescado, fresh, with a cold beer. What do you need more ? And a very clean kitchen in addition. Know what, a shower is available to have a pacific ocean swim and the way back without a salty skin. Waw.

Awesome beachside spot for fresh seafood and cold beer. We had the mussels and they were delicious. The owner is wonderful and even let us use their chairs and boogie boards to play in the ocean, and then shower off in their outdoor shower before hitting the road. Would have come back for dinner if we were in the area for longer, but made for a perfect mid day road trip stop!

Locos Cocos is the place to be in Guanacaste!!! I cannot express how much the owners and staff have held me over the years. The food, ambiance and moments made here I hold dear to my heart. Definition of a YES place with a side of sunset and ceviche (don’t forget to ask for the special hot sauce) 😉🌴✨

Amazing beachfront seafood place. The food is excellent: we had amazing shrimp quesadilla and fantastic fish ceviche (see menu). The also serve great Costa Rican microbrew beers by 7 Domingo, but the highlight is definitely the Passion Fruit shake. Prices are moderate (see menus), cheaper than most other beach front places, and the portions are medium. The food quality is absolutely great :-) You can easily eat something, and go for a quick swim (there's a free outdoor shower).

So Grateful for This Warm Welcome! We are so thankful we found Cocoslocos. We originally came just to eat, while looking for a nearby campsite—which turned out to be closed due to Semana Santa. We didn’t have much cash left, but the kind owner generously offered us both a meal and a place to stay in exchange for a bank transfer, even though it would take two days to process. Thank you for your trust and for letting us stay at such a unique and peaceful spot. The food was great—freshly fried fish, tasty fries, and delicious juices for the kids. San Miguel is a beautiful place with a wide, peaceful beach surrounded by palms and mountains. We loved the laid-back vibe!
