The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need. The facilities are excellent, featuring a swimming pool, dry and wet saunas, spacious locker rooms, two distinct workout areas, and even treatment rooms for massages. I joined during a staycation, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel like a long-time member from day one. Highly recommend this gym—it’s a true gem!

The staff here are horrible. They rarely pick up the phone and when they eventually picked up, they gave me all the wrong information. So when I dropped by on Sunday to purchase the day pass, no one was there at the front desk. And it was around 12:30pm, so technically there should have been staff there based on their website. Now I'm starting to realize why AI is taking over jobs, because some human employees/staff are utterly useless.

I recently joined the Locust Street Athletic Club and couldn't be happier with my experience. The team is exceptional—Luke, who plays a pivotal role in ensuring everything runs smoothly, always makes me feel welcome. Mika, one of the trainers, is very kind and inviting, leading classes and offering fantastic guidance. Located within the historically beautiful 21c Hotel, the club boasts stunning original tile work in its large pool and whirlpool area. The pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna are always clean and work exceptionally well, making each visit a true pleasure. The workout areas are equipped with a wide array of tools and equipment suitable for athletes of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or someone who could benefit from instruction and training, you'll find everything you need. Plus, on-site massage services provide the perfect way to relax after a workout. The amenities are too numerous to list, but what I appreciate most is the overall atmosphere. Where else can you indulge in wellness activities before heading to the elegant 21c restaurant for dinner, a drink at the bar, or exploring the art museum within? The set and setting are ideal for anyone interested in body and mind wellness. Love the in place! The staff is absolutely the best. The pool is a gem, and the sauna and steam room are perfect. Great equipment, new gym, and you could not have a better setting than this hotel. Bonus points that it used to be a YMCA and was fully restored. Strongly recommend.

What an oasis in the city. I’ve lived in the city of St. Louis close to 4 years now and the Athletic Club has been one of the biggest upgrades to my lifestyle. The pool is always clean, the hot tub too and it’s actually hot! Sauna is on point and the upgraded equipment is great. Mainly the team has been amazing. I decided to train with Mika, it’s been two weeks now and I already feel a massive progress in my strength and posture. She’s super observant and has been able to identity areas that need attention in my body. She’s definitely coached me into my potential so far and plan to continue to work with her. The Club also offers yoga and group training classes that have set me up for success. The yoga takes place in various areas of 21c (the hotel) and just feels like such a treat. If you’re looking for a place to enhance your well being and live in the city, look no further.

We paid the day pass fee to work out in their gym and swim. They have a dry sauna, that I wish was a little more private, but it's more like a fish bowl, where people in the pool and walking by can see into the entire sauna. The temperate was nice though, and they have back rests and foot rests. They have a moon shower, that we couldn't quite figure out, but it's a cool concept. The gym has nice, new equipment, and a pretty good selection of cardio, dumbbells, and cables. The locker rooms are clean and the showers are big. They have plenty of clean towels. The only issue I saw was that some of the patrons left their trash and towels everywhere.

Ive been a member here for a year now. Solid place. I do personal training sessions with Luke and have had significant improvements in all areas. I'm very happy with everything this place has to offer. Thank you!

Gym manager Luke Helming brought me back to life after chronic pain from ancient injuries left me feeling hopeless and depressed. He showed me how to move correctly and guided me through workouts that helped me overcome my pain. Over the course of a few weeks I not only felt less pain, but I felt like myself again. He gave me my confidence back. I am beyond impressed by his encyclopedic knowledge of physiology and all things related to health. I have yet to stump him with any questions that I've had. He is a great guy with a beautiful soul. I will always be so grateful for him.

I have been a member for almost two years and spend 2 to 3 days a week taking advantage of the workout space and the pool. Manager Luke Helming is fantastic--he knows how to hire and inspire a great staff and has turned around the issues the space experienced early on. Luke is a great trainer, too! He is knowledgeable and an inspirational teacher.

Excellent gym with a beautiful pool . They also have a sauna and a steam room . You could book a massage if you so choose . Parking is complimentary with membership . Mika Moss , the lead trainer is fantastic and very very helpful . They also have events in the gallery upstairs.

We wanted a spa day and decided to use this as an excuse to check out the Locust Street Athletic Club. My friend arranged back to back massages for her and me on a Saturday. We came early and had lunch upstairs prior to checking in and we received an email that both massages were cancelled with an hour notice. Since we were already there we went downstairs to speak with them and they let us in on a day pass to enjoy the amenities. We wandered around until we found everything since they didn't give a tour. The pool was nice and the hot tub was very big. They also had a small lounge area at one end of the pool. We came inside and tried to turn on the steam room but were told it was broken (there is no sign). We settled for the sauna which was nice and toasty plus the rainfall shower. The space was still nice and I love how they remodeled it but it was a disappointing experience overall.

Place is nice, I enjoy the friendly clean environment that Luke and his entire staff provide daily.
