Some really nice quality pastries. Pretty much when you’re at the top end, what separates you from the others is the texture and I thought both pie and tart were had a good crispy flaky texture whilst also having its nice flavour as you would expect. Just note this place does not take cash and there was issue with Apple Pay but hopefully was just me. Thankful I brought my physical card to get it sorted. Would be down to try other food items both savory and sweet.

🥐✨ Fourth time at Lode Pies & Pastries and I’m still dreaming about their pastries! I drive from Newcastle just for this kind of happiness 😋🚗💨 Big shoutout to the amazing chef Riccardo 👨‍🍳 – you can taste the passion in every flaky, buttery bite 🧈💛 Every croissant I’ve tried? 🤤 Perfect. The team? So sweet and welcoming 💐 Highly recommend if you’re in Sydney – don’t miss it! 🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐 ✨💛🍯☕🍓

OMGGGGGG!!! What I can say about this pastry shop, it was really really niceee~ They made my day 🌈✨ (on rainy day 🤭) I’m the one who doesn’t like pastries 🥐 that much, but this this this !!! PERFECT and I’ll be back for more. There have savory and sweet both are lovely. I thought they would serve only dessert 🧁 but they had wagyu & mushrooms 🥮 I also ordered a yuzu tart🍊it tasted amazing. I will re-order for sure 👍💚 I’m coming back 🔜✔️

We had the wagyu and mushroom pie, pistachio croissant and the miso eggplant today. Service was good, everyone was really friendly and the pastry themselves are very well done. Buttery, warm, crispy and the layers look really beautiful. I do wish the pistachio croissant had more pistachio flavour cos it tasted like 5% pistachio and 95% pastry cream. Been here several times to try other flavours sooo, overall I think it’s a reliable pastry shop.

Wow. Easy to reach, whether it be via bus or light rail / tram. Very busy but quick service, you shouldn't be waiting more than 15mins. Make no mistakes, the coffee was EXCELLENT. Not sure what blend or brand but it was damn good. Great pastries, both sweet and not, enough to get full on. Adequate pricing considering its location in Surry Hills. Go early.

A cute a cafe that serves freshly made pastries 🥐. We had the yuzu tart, cinnamon guy, and pistachio croissant. I liked the pistachio the most out of the three! Coffee was on point which is good. Highly recommend. I'd probably be coming back to try the other pastry.

Beautiful pastries et pies. Very original, clever, but also tasty. Love all those layers on the pies, the fresh fruits on the pastries and their crispy flaky layers! Worth the price, lot of work into those beauties. For the service and ambiance, it was okay. No greeting or friendly service but not negative either, just neutral.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally made it there. I ordered the Bolognese pie after seeing it featured on their Instagram—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The pastry was incredibly flaky, and the filling delivered all the rich, comforting flavours you’d expect. I’d definitely order it again. I also tried the Wagyu and mushroom pie, which was just okay—nothing particularly memorable. The pain au chocolat was visually stunning, topped with a touch of sea salt and looking like a piece of edible art. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver on texture or flavour. It was dense rather than flaky, and the chocolate inside was solid instead of gooey. I wouldn’t order it again. Overall, the savoury pies impressed. I’d happily come back to try other items on the menu.
