Cute little cafe! My friend & I had their Pistachio Croissant and Raspberry Tart. Both taste so good. The texture was crispy & flaky with a right level of sweetness. The pistachio cream was divine. I also had the ice strawberry matcha. Love it.

Some really nice quality pastries. Pretty much when you’re at the top end, what separates you from the others is the texture and I thought both pie and tart were had a good crispy flaky texture whilst also having its nice flavour as you would expect. Just note this place does not take cash and there was issue with Apple Pay but hopefully was just me. Thankful I brought my physical card to get it sorted. Would be down to try other food items both savory and sweet.

🥐✨ Fourth time at Lode Pies & Pastries and I’m still dreaming about their pastries! I drive from Newcastle just for this kind of happiness 😋🚗💨 Big shoutout to the amazing chef Riccardo 👨‍🍳 – you can taste the passion in every flaky, buttery bite 🧈💛 Every croissant I’ve tried? 🤤 Perfect. The team? So sweet and welcoming 💐 Highly recommend if you’re in Sydney – don’t miss it! 🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐 ✨💛🍯☕🍓

Really nice premium pies and pastries. Prices are a little high, but if you consider it “lunch” rather than a pie, then it is reasonable. Very flaky crust with quality meat inside. I actually preferred the bolognese pie to their signature one. But both are very good. Served with a knife and fork if you dine in

First time to try the pastry here. Love the pistachio croissant. what a decent combination. But the reason I rated 1 star for the service is because I personally did not find it very welcoming to be there. Once I walked up to the counter, I saw the apple pie was on the menu but didn’t see them on the display so I asked one of the staff if they still had it but she said “NO, what you see here are what’s available” and then walked away to do her stuff. I was quite confused at the first place whether I was asking too much? but didn’t want to take it personally so I waited to order. The whole time I was waiting, she was around and I’m pretty sure that she saw me waiting to order but no one seemed to come and take my order until one guy came up and did it. I am not sure if this is a bare minimum of their service or anything. I also work in hospitality as well which I always give customers respect and kindness to make sure that they receive the best service experience. In this case, personally if I were her, I wouldn’t greet and act upon a customer in that certain way. I’m writing this because I appreciate what they are doing with pastries but not sure about how they serve customers. I hope to find a better experience in my next visit.

OMGGGGGG!!! What I can say about this pastry shop, it was really really niceee~ They made my day 🌈✨ (on rainy day 🤭) I’m the one who doesn’t like pastries 🥐 that much, but this this this !!! PERFECT and I’ll be back for more. There have savory and sweet both are lovely. I thought they would serve only dessert 🧁 but they had wagyu & mushrooms 🥮 I also ordered a yuzu tart🍊it tasted amazing. I will re-order for sure 👍💚 I’m coming back 🔜✔️

✨ Hidden gem alert in Surry Hills! Just found this insanely good bakery – LODE PIES & PASTRIES and I’m honestly still thinking about that flaky pastry 😮‍💨 Tried 3 things and here’s the lowdown: 🥇 Lode Pithivier – legit a must try. Caramel pork + mushroom filling wrapped in the crispiest, most buttery puff pastry ever. Comes with a rich chicken jus that takes it to the next level. So flavourful and layered, I totally get the hype. I got the last one at 1pm – so yep, go early or cry later 💔 🥈 Wagyu & Mushroom Pie – has a red wine sauce and peppy seeds on top (gives a slightly peppery kick). Pretty unique – maybe not for everyone, but definitely worth a try if you like savoury pies with a twist. 🍋 Yuzu Tart – super refreshing at first with that citrusy vibe, coconut flakes + caramel. But gets a bit heavy after a few bites (maybe ’cause I reheated it?). Recommend eating it fresh for best texture! 🍵 Matcha Latte – ngl… kinda disappointing 😕 Couldn’t get it iced, and it tasted powdery + watery after it melted. As a self-declared matcha addict, this one didn’t hit the spot. ⚠️Heads up: • They often have long lines, so be ready to wait or just grab and go (I’d recommend takeaway tbh). • Card only – no cash. • I signed up for membership thinking I’d earn points… but turns out your first purchase only activates the card and you only start getting points from the second visit 🥲 lowkey disappointing. 📍487 Crown St, Surry Hills ⏰ 7:00am–3:00pm ✨ Overall, super worth it – that Pithivier is 10/10. If you’re into flaky pastry and savoury goodness, don’t sleep on this place!! 🥐🔥

Good little bakery / cafe. The pistachio croissant was delicious, however, on the pricier side. The blueberry custard tart/scroll was delicious too. Can get very busy and there is not much seating, so I would recommend to come early or take it away.
