Lovely place to stay and explore the Camargue. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even with our less than stellar French language skills. Breakfast was simple but of excellent quality. Rooms clean and well thought out. Highly recommend having one of their platters, sitting on terrace outside your room as the sun goes down over the lake and watching the local wildlife (including Coypu, apparently a imported pest). Short drive into town which has plenty of restaurants, a couple of smallish supermarkets, an even smaller petrol station and a delightful old town. Also short walk to a riding stables, which was also very good.

Warm Hospitality and a Peaceful Stay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a truly enjoyable stay at Lodge Sainte-Hélène. The friendliness of the staff stood out right from the start—they were welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help, which made the experience feel personal and relaxed. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh, thoughtfully selected items served in a calm and scenic setting. I also really appreciated the pool area, which was clean, well-kept, and ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the area. My double room was comfortable and nicely appointed, with a walk-in shower and everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The lodge offers a thoughtful blend of comfort and authenticity, perfect for travelers who value peace, nature, and genuine hospitality. I would absolutely recommend it for a quiet, refreshing getaway in the Camargue.

Fantastic! No small detail is forgotten at this charming property that blends luxury with a personalised touch. Starting every day bird watching swans while eating Sophie’s amazing home cooked pastries is a highlight! Extremely clean, the pool is a work of art, the owners put immense care into their property ensuring the needs of all guests are met.

Location is absolutely great : very quiet and a lot of birds that you can see from the patio of your room. You also have access to a great pool and hardly any mosquitos when we went. Service is great. The rooms have a decent size, simple and comfortable , yet some details could be improved (eg. mosquito net with holes and back door didn’t close properly). Rules about use of the fridge are too prescriptive . Breakfast at 25 eur is not worth it . Overall a good experience but it is overpriced.

The lodge is nicely located on a small, shallow lake in the Camargue. Rooms are simple with small terraces. Breakfast is good with homemade cakes, yogurt and fruit couli. However I found the owner to be rude when I asked about a corkscrew to open wine I had purchased at the market. When I returned the next day, I found my wine, cherry juice and leftover rice pudding had been confiscated out of the room's refrigerator. Apparently, they do not allow outside food in the rooms, however they do allow you to purchase, for an extraordinary sum food ala carte from them. One is not advised of this when making reservations. Additionally, I reserved a "safari" in the Camargue, Lodge St. Helene made the reservation, but gave me incorrect directions, I ended up at Kayak Vert, so I missed the safari. All in all, not a positive experience.

Incredibly charming property. The view on the lake and natural bird reserve from the rooms, breakfast room and pool is unbeatable. The welcoming hosts will treat you to a locally-sourced and homemade breakfast. Other perks include l’Occitane toiletries and viewing glasses you can borrow for birdwatching.

Lodge Sainte Hélène was a charming, memorable experience. The room was wonderful, the location (right on the water, with lots of bird life) was beautiful, and the breakfasts were delicious and generous. The owners were friendly and helpful; they made dinner reservations for us and suggested a really terrific opportunity for horse riding. We enjoyed our four night stay very much.
