This is a great market that has laundromat and restaurant. They also have bathroom and showers. The bathroom was very dirty and just like visitor center they were never cleaned. There has to be someone cleaning after all the visitors because most people are filthy!!! I hated the restrooms. The restrooms at Sherman Tree smelled like an outhouse. I refused to go near them. Smh The best thing about this market were the gifts, self checkout and the food at restaurant was EXCELLENT!!! And the staff were friendly. Me and my goddaughter ordered the California Chicken Wrap and it was DELICIOUS and worth every penny! I don’t like ranch but they did have Italian. I highly recommend purchasing food here and not at Kings Canyon because there is no comparison in quality and taste.

Great place to grab to go items, and also for freshly prepared food items & ice creams. There are great options for vegetarians and vegans including made to order impossible burger and a fresh made wrap, & also a ready to eat wrap. There is an ice cream bar as well. Ordering is convenient from electronic kiosks. Seating is inside & outside.

It's Oct 28th and the Grill is officially closed for the season. It was open yesterday, so we missed an opportunity to eat there. In the Market, they have a good selection of items that you may need while camping or if you're just passing through. It seems seems though that the cold sandwiches, pre-made salads, and frozen foods are quickly diminishing. Lots of beverages and ice cream available though. There is an eating area inside with a microwave available, so that's nice. We used the laundry room. It's $2 to wash and .50 to dry for 20 minutes. That's pretty cheap. For the most part, the laundry room is clean, but the machines themselves could use a good wipe down. They could use a folding table in here. No Internet connection here. That's a bummer. Even though the Visitor Center next door is closed, you would think you could still access guest Wi-Fi here. Nope.

I'm amazed that these are actual restaurants in the national park. But I'm also glad for that, as I don't need to rely on protein bars or snacks that I eat just to survive a day out in nature. This place offers some sandwiches, burgers and bowls. Despite having a bit of fast food vibe, taste of the meals is good and portions are big, or at least big enough for me. The shop has everything, but really everything. You can buy so many Sequoia National Park souvenirs that I didn't see in other souvenir stores at the park, also some better meals or snack to take away with you, and then regular daily necessity products. The toilets are not directly inside of the building, but they close by in the different building in the area.

Arrived at 8:58 on my bike to grab a bag of ice and was denied. I was told the registers were already closed. Store isn’t supposed to close until 9pm. Honestly pretty sad that the staff doesn’t care about the campers as much as the rangers. Food prices as fair, store is stocked and they have a restaurant…just don’t push your luck with getting anything you need close to closing which means you may have to miss a sunset, or hike or anything else. Really sad to see.

Im glad that we took a stopover in this location. This area has your needs for the whole national park. This includes souvenir, small grocery store and cooked food! I ordered the cheese burger and fries. I found the food is subpar. The patty in the burger is very dry and little sauce on it. The fries isn’t as crispy and you have to add salt to your liking which is nice! Overall, I can’t complain as this is the only place that serves food in the national park.

Google
Only Gripe I have is they could have a few more options. However, they still get 5 stars because they had gluten bread, and one of the worker Lucy went above and beyond asking the chef about procedures and making sure my food didn't come in contact with anything it shouldnt. I hope all the workers are like Lucy, she's awesome.

The Lodgepole Market Centre is located next to the Visitor Centre and is open year round. Opening hours are 8am to 9pm daily (summer hours). Here you will find a supermarket with food, drinks and cooking items you might need for preparing your own meals within the national park. There is Grill here as well where you can buy ready-made sandwiches, wraps or order burgers made to order. We had lunch at the Grill and found the wraps to be just fine, good enough for the prices charged. There is also a gift shop section at the Market Centre where you can pick up souvenirs or other gifts related to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The are toilets available and a fair sized carpark outside. We had no problem finding parking space during our April visit.

Yelp
This review is for the ICE CREAM. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!!! Especially "Huckleberry." My wife and I came multiple times to Lodgepole for souvenir shopping and ice, BUT we also came for sweet treats after a couple long days of hiking and exploring. Lodgepole was pretty busy by 11 AM and after. It was spacious and the dining area had plenty of seating inside and a handful of tables and chairs outside to enjoy any food. TREAT YOURSELF. It was sooooo good. Creamy, fruit-filled and large portioned. We loved it. In one visit we got a double scoop in a cup (perfect for sharing between two people) with Huckleberry and Chocolate. In our second visit I got a single cone with huckleberry. You won't regret it!!

Yelp
Omigosh, the trout sandwich is a diamond in the rough!! A bit pricey for a sandwich but SO GOOD (and understandable for seafood). They said it was locally sourced--I think I believe them. And the fries are skinny fries, which are my favorite and were quite good. Can't believe nobody's mentioned this sandwich in the reviews yet. GET IT.

Yelp
Decent enough stock of food and snacks all be it on the meh side of quality and pretty darn expensive. The showers are confusing to me.. closed for years but so dirty I almost gagged.i am glad to have the restaurant and showers back for everyone but the supervisors here need some training. Brian Wilson(or something) was so Rude and cut the line because people were kinda lined up funny and then proceeded to lecture everyone and didn't fix the line gap or issue just got his food and chatted with two co workers about inappropriate thing. Br

Yelp
They have a lot of what is needed for a camping trip with the kids. English muffins, eggs, hotdogs, bread, and more.

Yelp
As of 1/15/21 there is another page for the Lodgepole Village & Market, but *this* page has the correct map location. Hopefully you did your research before coming to the Sequoia National Park because chances are you might not have much cell phone coverage once you're here. ENVIRONMENT This medium-sized market is nestled just off of the Generals Highway. Just beyond the market with plenty of trees surrounding the area is the Lodgepole Campground. SERVICE The staff mostly keeps to themselves as they tend to be really busy checking out customers. MY FAVORITE PART... It's so convenient that the Lodgepole even exists because you don't realize how deep into the Sequoias that you are with the long, slow and winding two-lane road. On two different occasions it has basically saved my tail. We could've gotten by without it, but it was nice to break up the trip going in there with two young kiddos. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Overpriced items. THE GOODS There is a plethora of souvenir items such as: t-shirts, magnets, jewelry, grow-a-tree kits, coffee mugs, thermoses, shot glasses, and postcards. For the campers and hikers that forgot a few things or need newness, there are hats, backpacks, collapsible pocket knives, over-the-counter medicines, jerky and plenty of other snacks. Some of the refrigerated to-go sandwiches were okay during our most recent visit (on 9/9/20 because the Wuksachi Lodge restaurant where we were staying closed early that morning, quashing our brunch plans). To my knowledge, only the market and gift shop was open during the COVID-19 pandemic, not the grill (which was pretty good a few years ago), the laundromat, and the public showers. That could have changed by now, though. PARKING There is plenty of free parking for all types of vehicles. Regular-sized vehicles closer to the building. An oversized vehicle and trailer lot within walking distance. TIP During COVID-19, the signs said they only accepted debit/credit card forms of payment. OVERALL Whether you're looking for some souvenirs or need forgotten items for camping and lodging, this place can be a reasonable sure bet. | Goods/To-Go Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Environment: 5 | Price: 3 |

Yelp
Devoid of stock, totally empty shelves. Staff was a rude freak show, wildly inappropriate for the venue. The party (s) responsible for hiring at this concession should be fired or at the very least sent to some training course. These are sometimes both the first and last park representatives people see, they can shape a trip. Having a staff like the one here is a disaster for the park and a poor representation of the U.S. National Parks.

Yelp
The Lodgepole Village and Market was great for me grabbing all my Sequoia National Park souvenirs. This place was located a little ways past the heart of all the action at Sequoia....heading towards King's Canyon NP. Situated off the main road of Generals Highway....there's plenty of signs indicating where to turn into. Not only did I pick up all my little gifts and keepsakes from the park....but I also came here to eat at The Lodgepole Grill Cafe. After spending the morning wandering around Crescent Meadow and hiking the Big Trees Trail....I was hungry and wanted a quick and simple midday lunch. Well....the Lodgepole Grill Cafe fit the bill. It was the quintessential place for a cafeteria style grab and go - and/or nonchalant sit down for those in a hurry. You get in line.....order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. For myself....the line wasn't too diffiuclt. I waited 10 minutes. Then an additional 15 minutes for my order to be called. Overall - a 25 minute wait was manageable....I guess. I mean...that was okay...especially for the limited dining options available in a national park like Sequoia. The menu was as all-American as it gets. And the prices were reasonable/affordable for everyone - especially groups of large families with children. Here's the entire menu..... Hamburger's/Cheeseburgers - $9 - $10. Vegan Burger - $10 Grilled Fish Sandwich - $10 Chicken Sandwich - $10 Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich - $7 Chicken Tenders - $6.50 Hot Dog - $6 Nachos - $3 - $4 French fries - $2 Beverages - $3 Ice cream - $3. That's it....virtually the everything they offer right there. I ordered the chicken sandwich. I got fries as well and a fountain soda (with unlimited do-it yourself refills). In all, my meal came to $15. Good enough. I'd say besides the souvenir shop....the best aspect about the Lodgepole Grill and Marketplace was the picnic tables situated outside. I grabbed a table on a beautifully sunny, summer day. It was just real pleasant to have a simple, quick meal outdoors in the fresh air. Though...it was crowded and I did have to wait momentarily for a spot to open up. Still...there was seating inside for those interested. Also, I had to wait inside as well for my order to be called, especially since I was traveling alone. Finally....the chicken sandwich was as "pedestrian" as it gets. Basically...2 grilled pieces of chicken on a sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. The fries were alright. I mean....for a quick - stop to refuel for lunch....the meal was sufficient. After viewing the basic menu options....my expectations were quite low and that was fine by me. I was hungry....I just wanted to eat....and then continue with my day admiring the wondrous sequoia trees and forestry setting. Side note - lol...I really enjoyed my visit to Sequoia NP. So...for anyone looking for just a regular, generic, no frills lunch stop....the LodgePole Grill Cafe is what it is. It served it's purpose. Satisfactory enough epitomizes it all.

Yelp
Small but mighty is the best description of this village. There are 2 kinds of stores situated, one has limited items for souvenirs & the other is like a mini market with all kinds of souvenirs, emergency kit, snacks & other basic essentials. The second market is divided into different sections: cafeteria for light meals & drinks, laundry room & bathroom, very convenient for travellers. They also have a big patio to eat & relax. We enjoyed exploring this place & will definitely visit again.

Yelp
This place is dead in the off season from my experience last week. Not a soul in sight it felt like my boyfriend had rented out the entire park for us alone. We rented snow shoes from Lodgepole to get around through the snowed in trails. They were around $47 for the day for the two of us. When returning them at the end of the day, we picked up a couple light snacks for the drive out of the park. This place was crazy quiet, so hard to get a real feel for what it's like in other seasons. The snack bar was closed and everything felt extremely deserted but it served our needs as far as renting the snow shoes we came to rent since the snow wasn't freshly fallen and cross country skiing wasn't going to be the best choice for us on our visit. The woman working at the counter the first day we dropped in to ask a few questions didn't seem very helpful in terms of navigating trails around here in the Winter. You'll definitely want to seek out a Ranger for more detailed info because handing someone a map when everything is covered in snow, really isn't helpful at all. If you're staying up here for a a good few days or week, you'll definitely want to pack a majority of your own food the options didn't seem spectacular here.

Yelp
Super convenient spot literally in the middle of the wilderness. Most things are actually pretty fairly priced as well, which is really surprising for a place like this. Convenient parking, and payphones outside that actually work (ours didn't at Potwisha campground). Maybe somewhere between a 4 and 5 star rating, but it's worth rounding up. ;)

Erica L.

Yelp
This is far and away the best market I've seen in a national park. It's about five aisles with all the staples you'd expect when camping: smore fixings, a few fridges of sodas and juices and in my case, cold brew coffee, sugar, sauces, chips, prepared sandwiches, ice cream, and then a wide selection of gift shop options which are much better than you can find in any of the visitor centers. They have a lot of nicely branded sequoia park items if that's your jam. Cashier system seems efficient for purchases, returns, and the like. All in all, a great resource.

Mica L.

Yelp
Unfortunately, Not open at all. Drove up there after Wolverton and there area was completely dead and seem deserted

Gordon K.

Yelp
Bring your own food to Sequoia National Park. We stopped at the Watchtower Deli in the Lodgepole Marketplace in Sequoia National Park. We purchased two turkey, bacon, and tomato sandwiches at about $8,00 each. When we stopped later to eat them we discovered we hat a slice of nondescript cheese, a couple of slices of turkey, no bacon, no tomato, not even any butter on the stale bread. We were too far down the highway to go back. This is the exact opposite from what we found from food vendors in Yosemite, where the fare is ample and reasonably priced.

Isabelle L.

Yelp
I had the grilled fish burger here and the chicken burger in the cafeteria in a nearby cafeteria. I'm wondering why they are so different... I thought they would be of the same quality, but it seems it took 5 min shorter to cook a burger here and some part of it was still cold when served... Maybe too many people are visiting here and it's for the best turn-around...

Yelp
Tent camping in lodgepole almost every year in early spring and late fall in the past. Showers are like heaven and laundry mat is wonderful if you are a backpacker and needs laundering. Local post office across the store and place to get permits for backing and tickets for crystal cave. Outside the road has free transportation to Giant Forest, Morrow Rock, Crescent Meadow, Round Meadows. This place bring back many memories when my kids were young staying in Giant Forest Rustic Cabins that is no longer there. Lodgepole Market may be small but is pack with groceries, ice, vegetables, milk, eggs, bacon. I was a little disappointed they didn't sell steaks that we forgot to bring. We have backpacked and tent camp in lodgepole and this store has almost anything you may have forgotten to bring. After several days hiking or backpacking you can purchase beer and drink it there outside the market. It is heaven!

Yelp
I don't think this place even deserve 1 star at all but here goes, I ordered breakfast burrito and turned out it seemed like I ordered a wrap cuz the tortilla was cold like it just came out from the refrigerator. And I asked the cashier if that's and she didn't answer my question and instead offered to warm it up for me. Needless to say the burrito or wrap was mediocre in taste. Definitely not recommending this place.

Marcos G.

Yelp
I love coming here....ever since I been 9 years old. Stop for some goodies, food and Souvenirs. Last week we stopped by again surprised the pizza place is gone, got a burger joint it was pretty good a bit pricey but tasty. My girls loved it ..... checked the Visitors Center , relaxed perfect spot for Public Showers and head back to our Campsite. Love it go every time I have a chance.

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Good but over-priced market. It's the only show in town so expect to pay for it. Wood is going to cost almost twice as much as anywhere outside the park. They have public showers, which is good thing when you're covered in camp dirt, but there are some drawbacks. $3 for 10 minutes is okay, you deposit a handful of quarters to get it going - if you are a quarter short, or you have a bad quarter, your naked ass has to go back to the change machine. The showers are a bit gross; water and soap from the person in the next shower can wash over your feet as you shower - yuk. Your shower will suddenly turn cold when a close shower is first turned on. The area where you put your clothes gets soaked, so putting your clothes back on can be interesting. The toilet in the shower room was very special, it's in a tiny booth, so your face is almost pressed against the door!

Vanessa R.

Yelp
This was our go to place ( and only place within miles) for all our emergency needs ( extra ice, band-aids, more bug spray...). The people that worked the various counters were nice and knowledgeable. If your get ice cream here, I highly recommend getting your ice cream on a cake cone since it saves you some extra money. The showers were clean (as clean as they can be when like 100 people use them daily). There is no real temperature control. When I started my shower, the water was hot, and then the shower next to me started and I got chilled with ICE COLD water. The showers are closed form 1-3 pm daily so make sure to plan accordingly.

Christina K.

Yelp
Their pizza was really yummy, but one piece had been sitting beneath a heat lamp and looked like Norman Bates' mom. Service is absolutely terrible (aka total chaos), but when you've been camping for days and you have dirt in all your nooks and crannies, you're just happy to see hot food and ice in your soda. Also, their market selection (snacks/souvenirs) is huge.

Lulu G.

Yelp
The food here was so bad that not even the Bears will want to eat this food over all shitty service I do not recommend this place at all. The burgers were cold and and the pizza was horrible. Just bring your own food

Anton E.

Yelp
I am going to have to say in all the secluded markets I have visited in various places, this market is reasonably affordable...far greater prices than any other national park. They have a good selection of everything. Missing a tomato for your meal...pick one up for about $1.

Tiffany V.

Yelp
Great market. This place had everything we needed and great customer service! We stopped in after our first night of camping (and freezing our tails off) and bought some pants and a sweatshirt for my boyfriend. The sweatshirt fit like a dream on my "Big and Tall" boyfriend, but that night we tried them on in our tent and found that we got the wrong sizes. Went back the next morning and was able to return them, no questions asked. Our 4th and final morning of vacation we ate breakfast in their cafe. Prices were a steal (2 breakfast burritos, a coffee, and a soda for under $15) and the food was enough to fuel us through climbing Moro Rock, then hiking around Crescent Meadow to Tharps Log and around to the Chimney Tree, and holding us over until we got back into Fresno at 6 that evening. Major thumbs up for this store!

Thomas W.

Yelp
Don't by the from the grill. There were flys everywhere and my burger had an unpeeled avocado on it. My friend bought a cold deli sandwich and there was a dead fly inside his sandwich. Definitely bring your own food or buy something safe from the market.

Chris K.

Yelp
Review based upon the deli/grill. Food here was okay. We really wanted to try the delis in town, but they didn't open until 10 or 11 and we were already on the road to the park by then. I got a hummus wrap and it had definitely been wilting away in the fridge for a while. The girls enjoyed their hot dog and fries and hubby said his sandwich was "okay." The next day we packed some peanut butter and bread for lunch instead :)

Lan L.

Yelp
Awesome market to pick up things you missed or couldn't bring. Prices are reasonable with things being about $1 more than your usual grocery store. There's also a sandwich shop and burger/pizza joint in the market with reasonable prices.

Dena G.

Yelp
Okay, I seriously think this place needs to invest in AIR CONDITIONING! . . .Look, I know Summer doesn't happen year 'round here, but puhleeeeze! Souvenirs are NOT their strong point, which is really too bad because I am quite the shopper! . . . as for food. . . you really have to be desperate to buy their pre-made stuff (sandwiches, salads), and as for their fried stuff, I have NO idea (didn't even try!) . . . Their ice cubes were about the BEST thing this place had going for it! . . . I'm sorry Lodgepole, I just liked your surroundings MUCH better than the inside of your marketplace! . . . btw, the post office was helpful but all self serve.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Came here twice, just for drinks & ice cream the first day & lunch the next. Ordering lunch was a nightmare because the young man who rang me up made a mistake that involved my kids waiting for their pizza for 25 minutes while others were served first. Then rolled his eyes, gave dirty looks, and was generally a jerk about it. However, the manager came out, apologized, and completely made things right with a smile on her face. So that very much redeemed my thoughts on this place. Besides the one jerk, everyone was polite & helpful. The place is clean. They have a small general store, deli, snack bar, ice cream, and souvenirs.

Naveen N.

Yelp
Average tasting food that's made quickly. Menu has a decent variety and the prices are reasonable given the location inside the national park. Wonderful outdoor seating.

Matthew J.

Yelp
Nice little market and visitor center for Sequoia. Very close to the main campground and near the Giant Forest and big trees.

Carlton B.

Yelp
Average food, average price. A lot better than I can say for Wuksachi. The burgers are good, and the deli sandwiches are good, as is the ice cream. Gourmet compared to trail mix. Breakfast (eggs, bacon, and potatoes) was also good. The market is fair prices (in contrast to jacking them up for a captive audience). The beer in the back is sold by the bottle. The visitor center next door is also nice, and there is laundry and public showers right there. Overall, by far the best value for food in the park. Wuksachi and Wolverton are overpriced. Sequoia is fun and Lodgepole is fair.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Came all the way from Buckeye Flats to get ice. C'mon people it's a well stocked market in the middle of a national park! You don't know what luxury is.

David R.

Yelp
keep your receipts!!! the store charged $86$ dollars for 2 bags of ice and they charged a gallon of milk from my aunt watch out because they some scummy bitches.. i had a great time until i found out they scammed my dad.

Dawn D.

Yelp
After not being able to find any info on what is sold there.....looking for burgers etc. Called the store directly at 559-565-3301 x73 . And they said they sell frozen steaks chicken and burgers. Good since we are coming in from Tucson and didn't want to pack a big cooler.

Connor S.

Yelp
Everything about this market is great, especially after a long day of hiking. The grill serves pizza and burgers, both of which are delightful and the staff is very friendly. The market has a large variety of things to choose from and I often frequented the ice cream section there are not many bad things about the joint, except the food Is somewhat slow to come out and multiple showers are not working.
