Lodges de Camargue - Natura Resort

Super uncomfortable inside. Same sink for dishes as for washing your face. Only 2 pillows. Shower door does not close completely. Lights turn on automatically even when you don't want them to. No place in the bedroom for a suitcase and no chair. Door that locks automatically if you step onto the porch.and on and on. Maximum discomfort for a luxury price. Not a nice area. Pool not available for use so dirty that it is taking days to clean with loud machines that kept going after 6 pm.

These reviews are missing one vital point: the area is an absolute dump. It’s a literal port. I don’t know where the ‘amenities’ are, everything is boarded up, smashed windows, closed restaurants, etc. The whole place looks like it’s either still being constructed or demolished. The accommodation is high-spec but it’s in the middle of an area that is not far off being post-apocalyptic. Not happy with the way the accommodation adds the taxes and everything to the price only once you get there, as it significantly increases the cost. Reception is efficient and cordial but they don’t speak a word of English. I think this accommodation is for rich boat owners who don’t mind leaking money while they are on land. It’s not a nice area. It doesn’t feel safe. If you were only going to stay at the accommodation and not go anywhere you might manage to have a decent break but if you like to go out and walk around restaurants and shops of an evening you will be disappointed. And I have to mention the mosquitos I’m afraid, I know this is a nature reserve, and I understand you will get mosquitos, but these are the B52 Bombers of the mosquito world. They ravaged us.

We stayed two nights in this beautiful place - it was great. When we arrived we have been welcomed by the staff really nice, who showed us everything. The reception lies next to the little Swimmingpool, which is really beautifully arranged and shows the love for details of this space. Yes, there are frogs in the night, but hey it’s a Nature Lodge. If you choose breakfast you sit on a terrace next to it and choose from the buffet, which offers everything you need. From Coffee (ok it’s a Nespresso Capsule Machine which does not fit the overall concept), fresh bread and Croissants to homemade yoghurt. Parking Space is enough and situated More or Less in front of the Lodges. On one hand cool, cause you have easy access, but of course look at the cars when you are on your terrace. But it is all arranged beautiful with flowers and little trees… The lodges itself are modern and charming. Large Terrace, Open Outdoor Kitchen,… awesome. Interior is well chosen and designed. We missed some cups, but the reception helped immediately. Beds were super comfy. By the way: electricity comes mainly via Solar Panels, which is a great concept. Surroundings offer a lot activities. Hikes, Surfing. Bike rides, Horse Riding… In the Camp you can play Boules and hire E Bikes. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. You can feel the love the owner put in this project. Pretty comfortable lodges. Decent buffet breakfast. A bit of a walk into town.

Very nice place to stay, we only stayed for one night, but might definitely come back to get to know more La Camargue
