A simple thought to look for meaningful murals and expressions of art and culture brought me to the Lodhi Art District just yesterday. And I must say, it felt like a truly blessed day.
As it turns out, the older artworks were being replaced with new creations to celebrate 10 years of this vibrant art district. The streets were alive, with tourists exploring and artists at work, adding fresh life to the walls.
I began my walk through Blocks 13, 14, 10, and beyond. With every step, I was completely immersed in the mesmerizing colours and creativity around me. Time seemed to slip away I didn’t even realise when an hour and a half had passed.
One of the most special moments was speaking with an artist who was painting a mural. Seeing the artwork through his perspective added a whole new depth to the experience.
Nearby, many young people were participating in a graffiti workshop, with paints sponsored by Asian Paints, adding even more energy to the space.
This district art festival, running from 1st to 28th February, felt like a living transformation and I felt lucky to witness it in progress.
What makes it even more beautiful is how the murals blend with the buildings themselves. The large window-shaped openings in the structures complement the artwork perfectly, turning each wall into a grand canvas.
And the best part? This entire artistic experience is completely free. You can slowly drive through, pause to admire, or step out for photos. It’s truly a wonderful spot for a peaceful walk or a vibrant photo session.
