L'Oeil de Boeuf

My husband and I went there for a date night yesterday, as we were impressed with the menu on their website. Sadly it didn't quite hit the mark for us. Although the food was okay (though both the beef tartare and gazpacho were very under seasoned and the menu was quite different from the one on their website), the service at the restaurant was exceptionally slow. It took at least 15-20 minutes to even be able to place an order and after that it took another 15 minutes (and several times asking) to receive our drink. We also had to ask for water and ice countless times before we actually received them and the food took even longer. It was very difficult to get the attention of the servers as they seemed to be quite overwhelmed. As mentioned, the food was okay and the quality of ingredients seemed very good, but sadly the entire experience definitely suffered due to the incredibly slow service.

Excellent little place tucked further away from touristy areas of Epernay. We do not speak French, so were not expecting much but boy were we wrong. The service was excellent, everyone were very friendly and attentive. We came in with a dog, and were made very welcome. Our dog was giving a bowl of water and some kibble. Very happy! The food was excellent, the peppercorn sauce was really delicious. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant 👌

Good food and service. A bit noicy, when restaurant is full.

Excellent food and really good start to the meal, staff polite, and service good for starters. Mains were slow and our plates were never cleared, it was 40 minutes until we were spoken to again after our mains were finished. We decided to leave as they couldn't even get us dessert menus or drinks. Looking at other reviews this is common. Only 3 staff and around 60 covers.

A hidden little gem at walking distance from the famous Avenue de Champagne . The food was delicious from starter to dessert, accompanied by tasty wines. Worth a visit when you want a good affordable meal. We had good weather and were lucky to sit on the terrace in the back, which is shaded.

Place is a little old as in furniture, paint but also presentation of tables and of products in general.. food was good but not sure it was fully cleaned everything, could still feel the ground.. service was nice 🙂

Fabulous food. Booked well instance despite it being quiet season but it wasn't busy on Wednesday evening. Lovely rabbit terrine, a replacement for the board terrine that wasn't available. Then both had entrecote 200g, great and didn't need to 400g!

Delightful service, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food. Young snd old, kids, babies, and even a well-behaved dog enjoyed each other's company. Off thr main path so it was full of French tourists. Didn't hear a word of English that wasn't ours.

I wanted to love this place. However, as foreigners in Eperney they made us feel unwelcome. The food was ok but it's hard to like something when you are treated so poorly.
