Loetje Utrecht

Loetje in Utrecht really impressed me! I went for their famous steak with fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype – perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy and golden, just the way they should be. But the real surprise was the pastrami sandwich, hands down the best I’ve ever had. The bread was fresh, the pastrami perfectly seasoned, and every bite was packed with flavor. It’s not something I usually expect to stand out in a steakhouse, but it was unforgettable. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it a great spot for both a casual lunch and a nice dinner. Service was quick and friendly too. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to whenever I’m in Utrecht!

Last visited August 2025. It was a Sunday lunchtime when I dined here. Not busy at the time so the service was rather good. Dined solo so rather pleasant not being too busy. Check out the picture on what I ordered. Yep, my Sunday dinner. Not a roast (guess you may have guessed, im from the UK) but just as good. Thumbs up....

Too much fatty sauce in poke bowl, the cooked rice wasn’t fresh. Burger buns were cold, overall appearance wasn’t very nice. Asked for tap water, the waitress promised, but didn’t bring it. The advertised pastrami focaccias were sold out (why advertising them then?)

Charming restaurant famous for their steak in gravy sauce. Personally I think the quantity for the price was too small and the sauce a little too salty but would come back next time I am in town. Recommended by children's museum security guard

The place is busy on a weekday night but the crowd level seems to reduce after 7pm and you can get a table relatively easily past 7pm. The place is trendy. The food is a tad too salty but otherwise ok.

Absolute dream-meal. We had a stunning time here at Loetje. The staff was friendly and their recommendations were spot on - exactly what we wanted. The food came quickly and was super delishous. The menu offers a bunch of vegetarian and vegan options too, aswell as alcohol-free drinks. Meat was amazing quality with a one-of-a-kind sauce!
