I was disappointed as my first stay with Loews was amazing. This second time now, I felt I disappointed my husband as I was giving great reviews, that were false. My review focuses on the room we booked and the amenities we expected. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the view was great. The bed was comfortable, and well-appointed. However, the room needed some cleaning and maintenance. The carpet was dirty and needed to be vacuumed more thoroughly, and the counters and desk were stained. The bathroom had two large yellow stains on the wall that were unattractive, and the sink didn’t spray water properly. The floors were sticky, and the mop needed to be used more often. My daughter walked into our room and was surprised with an extra spare, fold out bed that we did not request for but the hotel made a kind gesture to add it in as we are a family of five and our room was double queen of the grand corner. We weren’t even charged for because I was worried we did. Even tho they did such a kind gesture there were stains on the pillow and when told they quickly gave us a new pillow case and pillow. No questions asked just immediately try to resolve it. Recommend dusting behind the entertainment area, windows, and tv stand, also making sure the curtains aren’t stained. Accommodations for guest as in filtered water, I suggest not using a water fountain and one small lemon water dispenser is not quite what I expected from a supposedly high end hotel—Imitating high standards. They handed me two small bottles of water. Which I feel is an inconvenience. Don’t get me wrong staff was wonderful. The front desk was super nice about it. The location of the hotel was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the spacious lap pool, and the kids’ room was spacious and comfortable. However, the parking fee of $81 per night was a bit excessive, especially since we had three kids and it was inconvenient to walk to the garage with our belongings. We would have preferred if the hotel had accommodated guests by allowing them to unload their cars and take their belongings to their rooms before parking. The charge $200 hold, I know there is a email about it before we check in—which worries me for others, can cause financial issues. As, to secure— if something happens, but again a bit excessive. Not only that valet was so nice and helpful but standing and waiting for my vehicle and seeing a valet speeding into the loop area was not exactly a joy and great sight to see. My husband even mention possibly seeing the valet might have run up / hit the curb. I still tip too. Overall, I feel there are areas that need more work on, but we had a great time at the hotel and made some wonderful memories with our family. The room was comfortable and the location was convenient, but the parking fee was a bit high. We expected high standards from a Loews hotel, and while the prices were reasonable for Chicago, we would have liked to see more amenities and better maintenance.

I had an exceptional stay at the Loews Chicago Hotel, where the service was truly outstanding—every staff member was friendly, attentive, and professional. The hotel itself is modern and beautifully designed, with a stunning lobby and top-tier amenities. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered great city views. The on-site restaurants were fantastic, with delicious food and great ambiance. This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Chicago.

Very underwhelming. We noticed Scuffs and visible damage throughout our room. Very surprising that there was no minibar or snack bar in the room either. We only had ONE robe and no slippers. The room itself was quite small for the price point. Even the toiletries: pump shampoo, body wash and conditioner made it feel like we were in a two star Motel. On the flip side, the staff was fantastic! The housekeeping staff was also amazing and ensured our room was spotless. Lunch at the ETA restaurant was quite good, and the staff was also fantastic. Very well situated with easy access to Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River Walk. Recommend for location and staff. Do not recommend if you’re looking for a luxurious stay. Expected a bit more for the high price point ($585 a night including taxes and fees).

Google
Booked this for a friend’s birthday. He said that the front desk was super accommodating, even going out of their way to make his birthday night special. The room was well cleaned and he said the bed was comfortable to sleep in. Parking was $66 but that’s expected in Chicago. Location was very convenient, being 15 min walk to the bridge and major shopping stores.

Booked last minute as Ambassador did not honour our booking. Checked in within minutes. Hotel clean and tidy. Good sized room and bathroom. Bed is very comfortable. All staff have been welcoming and friendly. Excellent location for the city. We’ve done everything and been able to walk everywhere. We’ve had a great time in Chicago.

Google
Fantastic service. Yes, it’s an expensive hotel but the comfort, luxury, and service makes the cost worth it. Really appreciated the text message service with the staff. Allowed me to get items I needed and retrieve my car from valet easily. The location of the hotel is perfect. I was able to walk to every destination. Area is very safe too Staff are very kind

My cousin and I stayed here in the fabulous Chicago Loews hotel for her 50th birthday, and had the most impressive stay. The staff was so accommodating, efficient, and even brought us a birthday cupcake out of the blue. They were extremely friendly. The facility was clean, smelled so fresh and it was a quiet. I can NOT wait to stay here again. I can not recommend this hotel enough, and hope it stays this impressive for years to come.

My experience at the Loews was incredible. We were originally booked at the Embassy Suites next door and after it not meeting our expectations we booked at the Loews. Everyone I encountered at Loews was pleasant at helpful, starting with Alicia who made the reservation for me. I can’t remember her name but young lady that checked us in was awesome. While we were waiting to get checked in I had a business call to take a Taylor allowed me to use the business center. When Jesus brought our bags up to the room and I didn’t have any cash on me for a tip he was so gracious and said ‘no worries at all Mrs. Jones, this is my job’. Our room was SPECTACULAR! Amazing views of both the river and lake. Seriously 10/10

Yelp
This our first time staying at a Loews and we really enjoyed it. The lobby is under construction, but the staff went out of their way to provide a Christmas decorated lobby in a different area. The drinks at the bar were tasty, our room was clean and well thought out, and room service even has food for pets! But on top of all that I don't know what I love the most - the staff or how family friendly the hotel is. This Loews truly has the friendliest most above and beyond staff of any hotel I've been to. Honestly! From the front desk to concierge to bartenders to housekeepers. Everyone was amazing! As for being family friendly, they offer cribs, a cart of kids books, complimentary hot cocoa, and go above and beyond to be helpful to us (we traveled with a 9 month old). Based on my experience here, I would try any other Loews again.

Yelp
It was a good hotel. I was here for a work conference and it was nice. The weird thing was the food, we had a rooftop thing and they had only mac and cheese for the food option. Obviously this was decided by my company but to offer variety of mac and cheeses as any only dinner option is interesting but whatever, The room was nice and quite standard all things considered. There wasn't anything that stood out about the hotel. The location was good and the check in staff were quick and pleasant but nothing about the room stands out as unique. it is quite expensive for sure but it is walking distance to most everything you need. 4 elevators that got you up and down quickly. Sadly, there isn't much more to say. If i came back, I might stay here again. https://youtu.be/yUrQl5GYZcU

Yelp
Shout out to Loews. Whether I'm in Chicago or Miami they've never missed a beat. Amex Platinum enhances the stay but definitely doesn't define it. After a couple stays they go above and beyond to ensure my stay is flawless and effortless. Any concerns have been addressed immediately, not passed along to someone in charge or a decision maker. It's just handled. I made the mistake of booking a suite at the Intercontinental for my birthday a year back and they stuffed me in a room that overlooked their antiquated HVAC system for triple the cost for a weekend stay. Throwing a cheap bottle of Champagne to make amends is hardly sufficient to make up for the lack or service and poor concierge available to guests. Shame on me for trying something new. The only thing I will say, is at 4+ stars, it's time for Loews Chicago to renovate their rooms. Carpet and furniture is beginning to show its age during my most recent visit. My go to in Chicago. Period.

Yelp
This was easily one of my favorite hotel stays. Location is unbeatable, every single staff was on point and in a hurry to get our needs met, the room, bathroom and hallway was super clean, room service looked and tasted like proper food at a nice restaurant, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and I was always excited to go back to our room whenever we were done exploring. Cannot recommend Loews Chicago Hotel enough and I'll certainly go back when next I'm in Chicago.

Yelp
Attending the hotel as a conference traveler Lowe's offered a high quality stay, conference space and customer service. The rooms are well designed with a clean feeling and bountiful amenities. The view of the Chicago skyline from the 8th floor was great and the spacious bathroom offers a feeling of openness and access. The conference space is well organized for both large and breakout events. It was easy to traverse the hotel to get to them, and get a quick stop in the room. The food catered on site was also delicious each day as well as classic Chicago staples they brought in. Lastly the staff was fully on point. Greeting me by first name many times they were friendly and helpful. The "lockout" test "cough" of my room had security up quickly to let me in and done with proper ID. The establishment felt safe from each angle and provided a sense of refined confidence. Only improvement feedback would be to have a shuttle to the loop public transit access, better marketing connection in room to on site dining, and out of state tax exemption acceptance. For a luxury stay the Loews Hotel measures up. Cheers that they keep being awesome!

Yelp
This is the first time we stay at this hotel in Chicago. It is located in downtown and is so close to Michigan ave. Due to the location of this hotel which is so pretty convenience to all the places we want to go to therefore my boyfriend booked this hotel. With being in downtown the parking lot is about a block away from the hotel items. This parking lot is shared by a university, hotel hotel, and others . The parking lot is located in AMC theater building. It does cost per day, which is about $55 dollars per day. The staff are nice. We have been here for the last two nights. There are several food options inside the hotel itself.

Yelp
Are room smelled like a dirty wet dog. We booked this hotel because of the rooftop bar-restaurant, which was never open during our entire stay. This is one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at. Extrance is cold, stainless steel and looks like you're walking through a walk in freezer. The Bed mattress was so uncomfortable, my back still hurts. Mold in the shower. Again, worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

Yelp
Lovely modern hotel situated close to Michigan Avenue and the river in the Streeterville area. The lobby has high ceilings, comfortable seating, fireplace. The valet attendants and front staff are accommodating and ably assisted with the check-in process. Our "Lake View" suite is comfortable with a sitting area with desk and large tv, spacious bathroom, king bed. The setting is modern and simple but high quality. There are windows on three walls of the suite. This is a "lake view" suite (with lake view cost) but the view is more Lake Shore Drive (Jean-Baptiste Point Du Sable), and a far away view at that.

Yelp
We did a staycation recently here for a weekend night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, location is great, and the staff were wonderful. On check in, my kid was a bit cranky from the car ride into the city having his nap cut short and the staff immediate brought out some toys for him to have. We also had out pet staying with us and the had a doggy goodie bag prepared with clean stainless steel bowls, waste bags, and a souvenir dog tag. Our room was a nice corner suite with floor to ceiling windows of views of both Navy Pier and the Chicago River. The suite was very clean and tidy and very spacious for my wife and I our son and dog. Honestly, I can't think of anything to really complain about during our stay. The accommodations were very comfortable. And we all slept great, no noise from any neighbors or from outside that disturbed us. We did have a chance to check out the indoor pool and gym during our stay, and as expected were in pristine condition just as the rest of the hotel. If you're looking for somewhere to stay downtown and close to many attractions, Loews is a great option and is both pet and family friendly. Will definitely keep this one in mind the next time we plan a trip to downtown Chicago. 'Til next time, cheers!

Yelp
Was a super late Saturday night and I just flew into Chicago by chance. I knew it was extremely late so I called around to a few local hotels to see which could accommodate me. Loews was one that told me they had a few more rooms but I would have to walk in because it was too late to book a reservation. I asked for the walk in price and was informed 205 a night. Based off of the others I called that was about in the same ballpark. I then took a 50 Dollar taxi ride to this hotel and asked the lady at the front desk if I could check in and I was pleasantly surprised. She informed me by no means could I check in and it had to be a prior reservation. I explained to her I called ahead and gave her my true sob story of the day. And I was turned away and not permitted to book a room for the night. She then told me that just about every hotel would do the same... I literally took a Uber a few minutes away and booked into another hotel with no issue at all. It amazes me that even though I was told by a company employee I could book a room there, I was immediately turned away. I would give them zero stars if I could, doesn't make sense to me to turn away money. So I'm just assuming the lady A profiled me, B didn't feel like processing a room, or C she was in a bad mood and took it out on me.

Yelp
My hotel view was so beautiful with both of a of the lake and the river, a rooftop fountain, and a rooftop park. It was my favorite part of the whole experience, and I left the window open the majority of the time just to look at it! Even better was the fact that we were only on the ninth floor because not a fan of being wayyyyy up there to get a view. We also showed up at 930am and were able to check in that early. Pure luck! Great location off a less busy street made ride share pick ups a breeze. The pool was nice but loud since it's indoors and echos with kiddos playing. The coffee spot was decent. Loved the bathtub in my room the most of all. All around very nice stay.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with an amazing rooftop. I had the honor to stay on my anniversary. I s was surprised to find complimentary chocolates and a bottle of champagne. We had plenty of space in the room. The bathroom and sheets were completely clean, which is a must. Check in was quick and smooth. The staff were friendly and professional. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
As a traveler who recently stayed at Lowe's chicago hotel I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience. My stay was marred by unsettling incidents of racism directed towards me by most of the hotel staff, specially the managers who happened to be African American. From the moment I checked in, I felt unwelcome and singled out due to the color of my skin. The check-in process itself was slow and inefficient, with the staff seeming more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to guests. When I requested assistance with my luggage, I was met with dismissive attitudes and barely concealed eye-rolls. It was evident that my presence was an inconvenience to them. Throughout my stay, I noticed subtle but unmistakable signs of discrimination. Simple requests for basic amenities were met with delays and excuses, specially at the bar while I observed other guests--presumably of a different racial background--receiving prompt and courteous service. This blatant favoritism left me feeling marginalized In conclusion, my experience at Lowe's Chicago hotel was marred by unprofessionalism and racism. The discriminatory behavior I encountered from certain members of the staff was deeply unsettling and tarnished what should have been a pleasant stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values respect and inclusivity in their accommodations.

Yelp
When you come in, just take a seat by a fire. Ambiance coming in with a hot chocolate stand and cookies was so good during the winter. Room was modern like a mansion. View's were fire, it even had a tent for the sister. NICE!

Yelp
What happened to Loews Hotel Downtown? This used to be a brand with dignity, and quality. They used to make me feel special and welcomed. The high price was justified... back then. Those days are gone. This is a bad decision as far as hotels go in Chicago. The 5-star rating must be an accident because it really falls short of other 5-star and even 4-star hotels near this area. The biggest downfall is the friendly amazing customer-centric service that Loews hotel brand was famous for seems to have been forgotten. From the sophomoric manager, Thomas, all the way to the clumsy and condescending security, Muris, this hotel is the furthest thing from a "tightly ran ship". It was sad and a bit embarrassing to have to explain to Thomas (who didn't even introduce himself) why it wasn't ok to treat guests the way Muris and the staff at the rooftop terrace treated me. It was something I've never ever experienced before at a premium hotel property. I'm still wondering why they did me so dirty. Haha oh well. The room was not the greatest either it was far from the elevators and had a pretty sad view. All I could see was the gravel rooftop of the building next door. For $300+ a night, I guess I was hoping my room would make me happy and excited. It wasn't bad, but reminded me of a renovated Motel 6. I got a serious case of buyers remorse. All in all, I asked for a refund. They were kind enough to let me go and find a better deal, and I did. I found a 4 1/2 star hotel that gave me a better room, better view, and treated me nicely! All for less then what Loews was asking for. I'm glad I was now to save my night by staying elsewhere. No more Loews for this guy. You can thank Thomas the "manager" and Muris the "security guard" What a terrible name they are giving this establishment

Yelp
Highly recommend staying here. It was such a lovely experience. We had a lake view suite and I posted a pic of what our view was from our bed. I tried posting my video but it didn't want to upload for some reason. I highly recommend staying here. The bed was so comfortable, the room was cleaned without me having to request it-like it is mainly everywhere now a days. Thank you for such a wonderful experience Loews!! I'll definitely be back when I'm in Chicago again!!

Yelp
I love Chicago so trying different hotels is my thing. Loews passed the test. I'll begin with the pros and cons. Cons: Self parking for $55 is a complete waste of time, energy, and money. We (wife, 4 yr old, 6 yr old & myself) arrived at the hotel around 10:30am (well before check -in). I asked the receptionist where self parking was and she directed me across the street at the AMC parking garage. Man the parking garage is cold, damp and a heck of a hike with a family. Especially if you have luggage or trying to go out late at night. I recommend paying the extra $20 for valet. Cons: The extra $25 they charge for destination fee. (Although they give you credits to use at ETA). Cons: The lake views for the premiere rooms (942 & 944) are non-existent. Pro: The beds...these have to have been the best, most comfortable beds we've slept in. They were/are soft and oh my goodness. They are excellent. Pros: The hotel didn't seem to be crowded. We bumped into a few people in the lobby but did not encounter anyone in the elevators on a 3 day visit. Pros: Front desk was extremely helpful and explained everything upfront of how the bill will appear so there were no questions regarding charges. As stated previously, we arrived around 10:00-10:30 am and I went in to ask about self parking. I stated that I wasn't looking to check in and aware that the room would not be ready. She directed me to self parking and 15 mins later I received a text that she had my rooms ready. Pros: They prepared 2 tents for my two kids and provided a bags of hot chocolate. Pros: the pool opened early so we were able to get a dip before check out. Pros: Target is literally a 5 minute walk away (WalGreens is expensive). And the hotel is nicely located near a lot of attractions.

Yelp
Excellent stay and service. We took the red eye into Ohare and arrived Thursday @6am. We got to the hotel @8am fully expecting to have to check our luggage with front desk, but we were lucky they had 1 room with 2 double available at no extra charge. This is unheard of!!! Thank you Loews for the couple hours of red r before we started our tour at 11am. The hotel isn't in the center of the river walk, but it was an excellent location still. It's near Whole Foods, Walgreens, and Target (2 blocks away with an adjacent Starbucks ) to get water and flip flops for the rainy weather to not wet the shoes. Paris Baguette was close by for some pastries (besides the shop in the hotel that has baked goods/chips similar to a Starbucks). It was a 15 min walk to the Navy Pier (fireworks on wed at 9pm and sat at 10pm and the Sight Seeing Architecture River Tour from the City Pass package is at the entrance). It's a 10min walk to Bobby's Bike Hike for our family bike tour. I highly recommend Robert's Pizza and Dough for their handmade pizza, wings, and meatballs. We booked for the outdoor dock at 9pm to view the fireworks Saturday,, but it rained and the outdoors seating wasn't set up. Their service was fast and we finished by 945. Instead of wlakifn back to the pier we went to the area in the back where the outdoor seating was and up to the bridge walk (standing on the same side of the restaurant) and saw the fireworks over the distant street bridge over the Navy Pier. You can reach that viewing point along the street between Target and Robert's pizza and dough. There's also a Molly's cupcake nearby for a huge selection of center filled cupcakes that's open late. The beds are double/full beds but are very comfortable. Our room was very clean. They serviced the room after the first night of the 3night stay. There is a bar in the lobby and a restaurant (?) that we didn't make it to. They said the gym is 24 hrs, and there is an indoor pool with specific hours that we didn't have time to check out. Expedia have me $22 for my status and the hotel gave $10/day if you charge it to the room. You get $10 for Uber but it has to be within 5 miles which we didn't know and didn't get it use for our ride to the airport. If we had known we would have used it the multiple times we got Uber. It was sent as a link to ur phone.

Yelp
The Loews is an excellent hotel with clean rooms, great views, and a fun bar to get drinks at. I would recommend staying here also because the location is convenient.

Yelp
Location. Location. Location. Great staff. Bar and restaurant good food. Stated there 4 days and consistency is the key. Concierge very helpful. Saved me mega bucks most economical way to get to point A to point B.

Yelp
Amazing stay for our 4 night 5 day adventure to Chicago! Clean, quiet, comfortable and in a great location to all the must-see things in Chicago!

Yelp
Stayed there in July. Very nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Always willing to give us tips or directions. Great location within walking distance of many sites. Our room was very clean. No complaints. We had a great view of the lake. The lobby and bar very clean, open, just a chill atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again when we come back. We love Chicago.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, conveniently located to be able to walk to all the best shopping, plenty of dining and Navy Pier should you be so inclined. Wonderful staff and well cared for facility. The space seems fresh and fairly modern. Super quick elevators, never a wait. I was a bit disappointed by the hotels food offerings, but the outdoor rooftop bar is a wonderful place to spend some time despite its limited food and beverage choices. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again, based on the room, wonderful staff and easy walkable proximity to plenty of things to see and do.

Yelp
I stay on 12th floor with navy pier view. Premium king room is spacious and modern. The bed is absolutely comfy that you wouldn't want to leave. The location is great. Few steps from magnificent miles. Starbucks on sites.

Yelp
Hotel has it all, clean, nice rooms, friendly staff, Starbucks right out the elevator, nice lobby, great location, pool and great price!.... Will be back for sure!

Yelp
The staff here was so friendly! You don't get that most pkaces nowadays! The room's decor and "feel" were exquisite and very high-end! Lots of amenities! The bed was super comfy, and we would highly recommend this establishment to everyone!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Clean and staff were amazing. Not one dirty spot or hair in my room. View from room was amazing. Location was perfect.

Yelp
Stayed here for a conference. The rooms were clean and the front desk staff were nice. From obnoxious bell ringing to treating us like children, the other staff I encountered were rude and condescending. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Update: I came back to this hotel 2 weeks later and my room was upgraded for no reason. I love this hotel!!
google avatar

Shannon N.

Yelp
Being generous to round up to three stars here. The room was gorgeous - upgraded to a superior king, with a great view (well, if the weather had cooperated...). Bed was very comfy. But the heater sounded like a jet engine and rattled a lot, so we slept in the cold (it was way below freezing outside). Nice toiletries. Stupid mini-fridge setup where you can't remove any of the minibar items without being charged for it - so it's worthless. Unimpressed with their restaurant for breakfast, and their Starbucks location is apparently owned by Loews and doesn't accept the Starbucks rewards stuff so they charged me for my free birthday drink. Might return to this hotel if the rate is good.

Yelp
We decided to go First Class on our road trip to Chicago (and beyond - Niagara Falls our ultimate destination, with previous stops in Vegas and Council Bluffs), so booked a room for two nights at Loews Chicago (Oct 19-21, 2022). The first and best thing was the receptionist, Brenna, beautiful, smart and efficient. The bathroom had a heated floor! with nightlights for the old fart who has to "go" several times a night. Our housekeeper, Mamie, was superb! Breakfast in the onsite restaurant was as expected: scrumptious! Thanks to Dylan for superb service (he should be in a Hollywood movie, starring as an action hero). We'll be back!

Yelp
We have stayed here multiple times and keep coming back. Everything about this place is awesome. The service at the front desk to the bellmen to the lounge and dining crew. Very clean. Our view was great. Love our stays here!

Yelp
Second best to a vacation is definitely a good staycation. I live in Chicago, but I enjoy checking out the 4 and 5 star hotels in my city. It is nice to take a short break from home life and just relax at a nice hotel. One weekend, this hotel had a lower than usual rate, so I jumped on the chance to check this place out. I arrived a couple of hours before the official check in time and the room wasn't ready yet. The front desk took my number and texted me when my room was ready. I had positive experiences with the front desk staff throughout my stay. The hotel and the room have more of a sterile luxurious feel. I don't personally mind this look, but some people might be turned off by this. The hotel didn't have a unique or cozy type feel that some other hotels have. The room size was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well at night. The fridge is stocked with a bunch of items that you have to pay extra for, but they can also bring you an empty fridge if you aren't interested in having those type of items. Before heading somewhere else for dinner, we checked out Streeterville Social (outdoor bar connected to the hotel). They had some good drinks and apps available. The hotel also has another restaurant on the main level, but we didn't get a chance to check them out. Overall take: I think that this hotel is worth checking out for the right price. We got a rate under $110 per night, so it was a good value for this price, but I don't know if it would be worth the rates that are $250+

Yelp
It's a nice looking and clean hotel. The staff was welcoming, setting is comfortable. All is good until you have an issue apparently. In my case, I get charged for consuming stuff from the minibar in the room that I never opened, let alone took anything out of. I contacted them, but did not get a response. Apparently, they have signed up for the "we will charge you whatever we want."

Yelp
Long story short: Super expensive for less than stellar. Our first room had hair on the pillows, suspicious white stains on the chairs and crusty stuff on the glass bed stands. Second room was clean, but we had kids and it definitely wasn't a kid friendly room. Charged an exorbitant fee for parking and for a kids channel on the tv (literally 20$ for one night- only six episodes of random kids shows you can play on repeat).

Yelp
Great location for business and leisure travel. Bed was comfortable and room was clean with plenty of room to enjoy staying inside. Staff was exceptionally friendly. From the check in desk to room cleaning, everyone was very nice and always spoke. Large group breakfast was terrific on the Lake View veranda and again, very courteous staff. There is a full service Starbucks in the lobby of this hotel for snacks and coffee. I also found it convenient to have a Whole Foods grocery across the street for stocking the trim fridge and getting a meal to take back to the room. Large bathroom with quality soaps. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
Nice hotel staff is the only redeeming quality about this worthless hotel. Terrible WiFi: It lasted one night, then disappeared completely. If you try to stream a purchased movie through their TV - for $20.99 + tax - it breaks up continuously throughout the movie because even that network is so poor. Officially Loews limits Wi-Fi access to three devices, but in reality they effectively limit it to all devices. And don't get me started on the bad bathroom and bed! Avoid this place like the plague - there are much better hotel options in downtown Chicago.

Yelp
Amazing stay. First time visiting Chicago and wanted to be close to Magnificent Mile. We decided to stay here because of the location and the hotels' name reputation. It did not disappoint. We were close enough to do all the things we wanted like: visit the Bean, visit 360, buy Garrett's popcorn. Some of it was easy and walking distance, other places was a short Uber ride. The hotel hospitality and amenities were nice. We got to experience their lap pool, and hung out at the lobby bar. Front desk service was amazing and helpful. We were recommended with some of the gems of Chicago and they were fun adventures. Ordering food and having it delivered to the hotel was a breeze as well. Room was very modern and bright. The space was comfortable and bathroom was spacious. In-room WiFi available and works great. I highly recommend this hotel, would stay there again when I visit Chicago, for Business and for Pleasure!

Yelp
I booked this hotel for one night as an urban getaway, because I was tired of staring at the same four walls and wanted to refresh my mind and spirit. My plan was to order a delicious room service dinner, work out at the spa, get a massage, and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Well, I failed to do my homework, because I just assumed that a very expensive luxury hotel would have amenities to match. But as it turns out, they have no room service ("because COVID"), no mini-bar, no snacks for sale at the reception desk, and of course the Starbuck's was closed -- in the afternoon! There was literally nothing to eat in the entire hotel -- a good place to starve, in other words. So I was forced to order Mongolian Beef for delivery from a local Asian restaurant -- and, of course, I had to come down to the lobby to pick it up. The spa was closed, ("because COVID") so no workout and no massage, either. A completely disappointing experience, worth maybe $150, and certainly not the $400+ I paid. The "COVID" excuse is getting old and tired because other hotels and spas have managed to adapt successfully while keeping their guests and customers safe. I got a massage at a resort a few months ago while wearing a mask -- it was an easy solution -- and I've ordered room service from other hotels since COVID. I think it's just a matter of this hotel using excuses to get away with charging premium prices for lazy and thoughtless service.

Yelp
This place is more like a 3.5. For a 4-star hotel, I'd expect a bit more luxury. The lobby is welcoming and spacious, but the bar has weird hours. We went one night and the next night it appeared to be closed? We're not sure as there was no bartender or patrons. There is a Starbucks that is open from 7am-12pm weekdays, so that is convenient. The room was nice enough and the bed was comfy. However, the pillows were flat and they didn't give you many of them like some hotels do. The bathroom door was a sliding barn door, which is nice for decor purposes, but not great in practice because this thing was heavy! I consider myself fit, but I can't imagine my mom having to open and shut that thing! There was no room service at this hotel. Not sure if this is just due to COVID or what. Overall, it was a nice place to stay - lots of families here, so they are kid friendly if you're looking for that. Not sure I would stay again though, especially since I want a bit more luxury when I have to use a hotel.

Yelp
Stayed here recently for one night while I was in town. I reserved a package for one room and valet parking. Parking situation in the city is bad, pretty much all the parking garages charge $60+ a day with no inn/out access so I gladly paid for the room and valet parking. The lobby area is really nice with a fireplace and a big bar, I believe they also have another bar on the roof somewhere but I never got the chance to see it unfortunately. The room was nice, appeared to be clean, and had a nice view of the water. There is a small fridge that was used immediately to chill some drinks. The bathroom is big, the shower looks clean and modern with frameless glass doors. I enjoyed my stay here even though it wasn't long , I wish I would have had more time to enjoy the room but I was mostly busy out exploring the city. I had to checkout really early (4am) to catch a flight and I was concerned about the valet parking situation but I just called 15 min before I planned on checking out and my car was out front waiting. Overall it was a great stay, really nice hotel, hopefully next time I return I can spend more time .

Yelp
I had wanted to stay at another hotel but it was more expensive than I had wanted to spend for a long weekend. So here I am, and I am glad I selected Loews, even though it was somewhat difficult to access. Relatively new, it had a massive lobby sure to please any traveler. There was a communal table to plug in our devices and groupings of seating for more intimate conversations, or a Starbucks beverage. There was also a bar that opened into the lobby which was great for people watching. Our room was very large with a comfy armchair which I commandeered for the entire trip. While there was a TV, I only switched it on to check-out. Chicago is too much fun to spend indoors. The bathroom had a sliding door (sort of like the ones Joanna Gaines installs, except that it was more luxury-hotel chic) although it didn't offer significant privacy. I loved the bathroom so much that I might use it for inspiration for my own home. The staff at this hotel was exceptionally service-oriented. From check-in and beyond, every interaction was pleasant and cordial.

Yelp
THE BEST HOTEL in Chicago/Streeterville! My boyfriend and I drive 50 miles to this restaurant once or twice a month for the bar. This bar is like no other because Mario can create any drink! He's very passionate about his job and, he's the epitome of customer service! We've gone to plenty bars but, this one is different to include the ambiance. The food is also better than any other bar food I've ever had. We literally call before the drive to make sure Mario is working, his service is absolutely worth the drive. Thank you Mario!!!! I wish there were more people working in the world with your demeanor. Excellent service every time!

Yelp
The hotel is fine. Rooms seem to always be steeply discounted - at $130-150 a night, Loews is just fine, but the sticker price is a bit strange. As others have pointed out, however, the valet is awful - beware. We should have known things would not end well when we pulled into the hotel to check in and were ignored for 15+ minutes while the valets attended to range rovers and other luxury cars that pulled in after us. We practically had to beg to get someone to help us with our "less desirable" vehicle. Lo and behold, they treated our car like what they thought it was worth. My husband, like most men and tall drivers, had to push up the steering column in our low-riding car to exit. The valet driver didn't bother to push it back down to a reasonable height, instead pushing it up even farther and forcibly turning the wheel, cracking the dashboard. Both the hotel and the valet service seemed to take responsibility, insinuating that the valet company had sent a claim to their insurance. No surprise, when we got home we received a letter from the valet service (NOT their insurance) "denying" the "claim" (including, among other fishy details, the wrong incident date and the wrong address). DO NOT valet park here. The self-park option is probably adequate.

Yelp
I'm giving a 4-star rating because "Big picture", this was a wonderful hotel. I appreciated the space offered in the 1-bedroom suite. Our room was cleaned daily and the staff was really nice. My only knock on this hotel is an absolute inability to stream anything (Netflix, YouTube, Hulu) onto the TV. When I called the front desk about this (2x) I was told the rooms do not have this capability. This makes me think they are trying to force guests to buy the on demand movies in the room (which cost a fortune). Yes, you can stream on your pad or laptop but that's it. I feel This needs to be changed. It's the main reason why I will not be coming back.

Yelp
Recently, I had an opportunity to stay at this hotel. From processing the reservation to checking in to departing, the stay was great. The hotel's location is great - right between Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier. There is a Walgreens and AMC Theater about 1/2 block away. Granted, there is a building under construction next to the hotel, it didn't ruin my stay. Upon entering the hotel, the reception area is to the left. I had arrived shortly after 1pm and I was able to check in. The staff member was very professional then instructed be how to get to my room. The lobby is very open with various seating and working areas. The bar area is across from the reception area with plenty of seating. The room is very spacious and very well planned out. The decor is on the lighter side. The bathroom is large with an oversize shower. I wasn't able to enjoy the pool or the exercise room, however, both areas were good size. The next morning, I had enjoyed the breakfast in the dining room. The service and food were very good. Overall, a very good experience and would recommend the hotel.

Yelp
Good location, Lobby is underwhelming, staff hospitality is average, self parking is a trek and if you valet check the status of your portfolio first room was ok, bed was comfy the pillows were not plush and for the price I expect auto blinds not manual and room lighting option, won't be staying here again mainly because there are so many other nearby hotel options

Yelp
Overall: Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros for this supposed "elite" hotel experience. The good: The bed was extremely comfortable, both the mattress and the comforters. The bathrooms are large as well and there's plenty of storage space for clothing and hanging. The not-so-good: There's no fridge to store leftovers, just the fridge where you get overcharged for drinks. The wifi in the room was not stable at all for even one person, let alone two. There are no outlets on one side of the bed, so I had to charge my phone on the floor, and the clock does not illuminate on that same side of the bed, so it was hard to see what time it was. The lights are odd and there's no full-sized mirror. While none of these are terrible to any degree, the fact that the room was $300 per night should mean almost no "cons" whatsoever.
