"Nestled in the foothills of the glorious Santa Catalina mountains, Ventana Canyon serves up wildlife, waterfalls, and for those preferring more manicured nature: two Fazio-designed golf courses. The architecture is rustic and rough-hewn, the service sleekly friendly, and its comfortable elegance inspires guest loyalty – plan on returning."

I had a company retreat here, and it was a super nice experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The doormen would open the doors for us, the front desk would ask if we had any questions, and the cleaning staff was very friendly and polite. The rooms are amazing! The bathtubs were huge! They're large enough to fit two people comfortably. The beds are decent, although there were stains on some of the bedsheets and pillow covers. The room had a beautiful balcony view of the backyard (and the balcony was very cute, but I didn't use it because it was too hot). There's a small walk leading to a waterfall at the back, and the general backyard area is nice and shaded with a decently large pool, plenty of lounging chairs, and some scenic plants and streams to observe.

The resort was perfect in every way. Truly a great find. Stayed one night for a special occasion and wished that it was longer. All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. |The room was nice and spacious with all that we needed and included a huge walk-in shower. The balcony had seating for two and an amazing view that included a waterfall in the distance - nice to sit out in the early morning.|Breakfast and dinner at the Canyon Cafe was very good. Great food and service.|We will definitely return for a longer stay, especially to take advantage of hiking and outdoor activities in the cooler months.

Spent one week there and enjoyed it very much. Staff is very helpful and ready to help. Amenities are great. Some areas would deserve some additional cleanup. Room was quiet and comfortable. Scenery is fantastic. If you get up early in the morning, lots of birds to watch in the amazing garden around. Will come back.

The great: Beautiful resort that is well kept including the grounds. Rooms are great. Location is perfect for scenery. The good: Service is standard. Check in very slow with few people in line. Fair amount of onsite things to do. City areas near by are pretty depressed. Lots of homeless in the area. The bad: Lost hot water for about 20 hours. Things happen but they did not tell the customers, instead you figured it out by talking to people and contacting front desk. Very expensive. Example, double margarita in a 12oz cup is $36. Not top shelf either.

My wife and I spent our 15th anniversary at the Ventana Canyon resort. We very much enjoyed ourselves, but it was not a perfect stay. By our own inability to control the situation, we were forced to arrive many hours earlier than our reservation started. We live in a remote town and there was only one flight we could have taken. We had to get up at 4:30 AM and we arrived at the resort at around 10 AM.I am not blaming the resort for not having a room ready for us, but it sure would have been nice! We called ahead to see if there was an early check-in option. I am not blaming the resort for not having a room ready for us, but it sure would have been nice! We called ahead to see if there was an early check-in option, but the phone service was unable to help us and seemed unwilling to contact the front desk and check. So we were at the mercy of whatever was available when we got there. The rooms are spacious and fairly nice. They are among the nicer rooms we have stayed in. The sheets were clean and soft, the showers are spacious in the bathrooms are clean. There’s a little bit of weirdness with the balconies, as you can look directly into the balcony of many of your neighbors. This is an architectural issue, and I don’t think it can be fixed. Relaxing by the pool was pleasant and enjoyable. We ordered drinks and the servers were more than happy to help us, that is, when they could get to us. They were overworked, there were not enough people serving drinks around the pool. But the drinks were tasty and convenient. My wife and I hiked the trail to the waterfall. It was very pretty and informative, there is signage, talking about the various plant life and other aspects of the terrain and climate. The waterfall is very pretty if you walk up to the bottom of it. But we also noticed that there is a PVC pipe feeding it from the top, and that completely killed the experience. Really guys? You can’t at least pile some rocks in front of the pipe and hide it a little bit? We enjoyed an anniversary dinner at the flying V restaurant. When we arrived, we enjoyed some drinks at the bar, and the bartenders were enjoyable and proficient. We were seated on the balcony deck area near the water. It was beautiful and pleasant. Our server, Dennis, was overworked, but saw to our every need. He worked hard, and he kept everyone on the deck happy. He was a great worker and a really nice person. He deserves every bit of recognition he receives. Aside from a couple of dropped balls on the part of the hospitality, and a very obvious error on the part of the weight staff in the Canyon club restaurant, we enjoyed our stay tremendously. If I were to return to Tucson, this is the place I would choose. It’s a little bit farther away from things we might want to see, like saguaro, monument, or some of the museums, but it is quiet and serene, and I like that.

The spa was my favorite. Monika’s massage was so relaxing and services with Emily were exactly what I’ve been looking for. My mom loves this spa and the hotel. She’s had issues with the description of the rooms and what is in the rooms but it was solved this trip. They offer an upgraded room with a sofa…but we learned the rooms don’t have sofas. |The “adult” pool outside the spa does not have cocktails but quiet and you can do laps. The pool behind the hotel is nice, lots of seating, nice staff, tasty food and drinks. A nice trail to a waterfall and lots of trail signs about plants and animals. I’d really like 1 measuring stick next to one saguaro cactus to really show the height of these amazing cactus’. |Breakfast and coffees were good and dinner in the bar the first night was nice and staff was enjoyable. We even tried the Flying V, and it didn’t disappoint. Got a reservation same day in the morning. Sat on the patio near sunset. The hotel looked so pretty.|3rd & 4th floors have the best views 😉

Great place for a pool pass and spa day! They gave out free popsicles. Huge portion sizes for poolside entrees. Good drinks too! Beautiful view of the waterfall and amazing spa staff!

Google
This place has hands down THE BEST customer service, Taylor runs an outstanding team in friendliness and professionalism. Everyone is so kind and welcoming, not once did I ever feel like I was a bother to any of them. We were there for a bachelorette weekend andTaylor upgraded our room for the occasion. Phillip at the pool went out of his way to find us a poolside space when there was none, it was a busy weekend. In a world where it is increasingly rare to even find any friendliness behind the counter Taylor and her team are killin it! Thanks so much for making our stay a memorable one!

Yelp
We took a family road trip to Tucson for a staycation - my sisters and their families also joined us. It was 4th of July weekend so they had many activities going on for the kids and adults. This included face painting, ballon artists, a DJ at the pool, and good lunch/alcohol specials by the pool. Rooms were nice and spacious! Very clean, but definitely needs some updates. Staff were friendly as well. No complaints. Not sure if we'd return, but for the American Express deal they had going on.. it was worth it. $60 daily breakfast credit, one time $100 resort credit and automatic late check out at 4pm (to name a few).

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, really enjoyed ourselves. We were there for a dear friend's wedding. The hotel is spectacular, beautiful, clean, pristine, and the grounds are divine. But it was really the employees that made this stay awesome. I wanted to give a shout out to the front desk, employees Sydney and Anaiya. They were so very helpful and went above and beyond to help me in a pinch, my 15-year-old daughter is extremely lactose intolerant. As my daughter and I scrambling to pack, hit the road on a Friday night and get out of LA. We forgot her lactate and by the time we got to the hotel, we were rushing to get to the wedding and would've missed the ceremony if we had ran to Rite Aid. Of course the dinner comes and it is delicious, but full of cream sauce and then of course there's cake and dessert, etc. etc. So I went to the gift shop but they were closed. So I headed to the front desk. Were Sydney and Anaiya, greeted me with smiling faces. They went on a mission and found me lactate. Whooo hooo, my daughter was able to fully enjoy her dinner and not have any stomach issues. It really made her able to completely enjoy the night. I work at the Beverly Hills Hotel. I am in hospitality. And I understand the importance of making your guests feel cared for. And Sydney and Anaiya really hit the mark. I'm hoping upper management acknowledges them. Thank you for going above and beyond.

Yelp
Great place to stay. The staff are very nice. The place is very clean and neat! Great views! The only issue I had was when we arrived and parked. A piece of rebar from the concrete parking curb went in to my tire and ruined my tire! Let alone I just got new tires a week ago! I told the front desk and security went and took pictures and was told they will take care of everything. Never heard from them during our stay or didn't even seem concerned about the rebar sticking Thur the ground!!! So I had placed big rocks over the rebar so no one would get hurt or ruin there tire. If someone were to trip and fall on this metal sticking out of the ground could get serious hurt. That's not good at all!!! I thought the Manager or the resort would have reach out to us! You definitely don't go to a resort like this and have to fix a tire when you start your vacation!! What a bummer The Manager of the property should check on the guest and make it right! Not just put in on the security team and say they will take care of it! Also tell the customer to move the vehicle when can so the maintenance team can fix the rebar sticking out of the concrete curb Right away!!!!! So no one gets hurt! I would have gave this place 5 stars if we didn't have to deal with this parking issue!! The staff here are so nice and have a great attitude

Yelp
The Loews Canyon resort was excellent. Stayed here for an entire week for work and had no issues. I arrived well before my checking time and they made arrangements to get me into a room ASAP. The fitness facility was one of the best I've ever been to for a hotel/resort. It had everything you could possible want with very up to date equipment. The concourse area was immaculate. So many cool views and trails to see. I heard the golf course was very nice too. I hope my work send me back here soon!

Yelp
Beautiful resort, nestled in the hills. Tastefully decorated, the pool is amazing and the staff are friendly and welcoming! We will definitely be back! Thank you for your warm hospitality!

Yelp
What a lovely resort surrounded by mountain views all around. Just a short walk or drive to many beautiful hikes. Even within the resort, there is a viewing area to watch the sunset. They had many beautiful spots to take pictures. They have a golf course, huge lovely pools, a jacuzzi with a small waterfall and an accessibility chair to get in if needed. The restaurants on site have delicious food! The bedrooms were lovely and spacious with views all around, even overlooking the parking lot! The staff were all very friendly and check in was a breeze. The valet, bell desk, and front desk staff make you feel extra special. We went there for Thanksgiving, and the whole place was decorated beautifully for the occasion. On Thanksgiving morning, they had a harpist playing in the common area during the fancy Thanksgiving brunch you can buy tickets for. Looks like many families and groups came together. The brunch was quite pricey, around $100/person. But on Thanksgiving, they also had an option for a breakfast buffet for around $25/ person that had a live omelet station, croissants/ pastries, and various other breakfast items.

Yelp
Tried to get a very relaxing "staycation" at this resort with my boyfriend Cordell. Everything was going smoothly, until me and my lover decided to take a nice swim at the pool, why not we thought. Until a security guard approached us. We did not get his name but he was on the younger side probably late 20's to early 30's and a bit heavy set with a brown reddish hair approached me and my boyfriend who happens to be African American and he said and quote "get your n*gger f*ggot ass out of the pool right now. he said that we did not have our pool wristbrands and threatened us with a trespassin. multiple other guests saw the incident and we reported it to the front desk but they gaslighted us and the other witnesses and claimed we were the ones who had lied. One of the worst experiences on what was supposed to be a nice romantic time.

Yelp
Wife and I attended the Sunday Brews and Blues luncheon buffet. It is served poolside and indoors. Majority of the cooking and features are outside cooked on wood fired grills and ovens w food served in cast iron skillets along with meat off the grill. This was a huge "like" for me. The grilled meats I sampled, prime rib (yes prime rib cooked on wood grill/oven) pork ribs, pulled pork, grilled chicken thighs, and salmon were all done perfect with great Smokey flavor, char, and rubs. Inside was a separate seafood bar w oysters, mussels, salmon and shrimp all served in easy to grab portions alongside Exquisite desserts and I'm not a dessert guy. The salad bar and breakfast station was in another room which I didn't visit. My wife can attest (3 visits later) that the omelets and breakfast offerings, Benedict etc.) were all top shelf. Other than the wood baked potatoes still hard and charred veggies needing more time on the grill it was 5 star. Beautiful venue, we walked off some of the goodness on their nature trail which featured a live waterfall. Quite a value as Champagne, Mimosas and Dragoon ales were included w the $65 ea price tag. Customer service was excellent despite so many people. Only disappointment was the "Blues" music was nothing more than a solo acoustic guitar act which I didn't get to hear as he was outside playing and on break when I was close. Although an hour's drive from my home planning a return trip soon.

Yelp
We really loved our stay at Loews. Tucked away in the hills of Tucson, it's a great destination. There are restaurants on site, a really beautiful pool and Hot Tub as well as hiking trails. This hotel feels very elegant and luxurious. Rooms are comfortable, with a safe and small refrigerator as well as a balcony. Beds are VERY comfortable with luxury bedding. Parking is free in a well lit lot. We brought our grandchildren for a short trip to Tucson, and we all had a lot of fun. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The hotel is easy to find and secluded enough to help travelers feel like they've gone on a real getaway. The lobby area has huge glass windows that look out towards the pool area, which is truly stunning. Everyone that I observed there seemed to be having a great time, including us!

Yelp
What a beautiful resort nested in the Catalina mountains. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated. They have: multiple restaurants and bars, 2 koi ponds, a beautiful walking path that ends in a waterfall, butterfly garden, heated pools and a hot tub, spa, PGA golf course, and lighted tennis and pickle ball courts. Certain days a week they do a guided morning hike and stargazing. They have a convenient shuttle service that takes you to restaurants and shops nearby. This hotel is very fairly priced for what you get. All the food and drinks I tried were delicious. I highly recommend it whether you are visiting from out of town or a staycation. When we went they had a Christmas tea time which was delightful and so much fun. Can't wait to come back and experience all they have to offer!

Stefanie E.

Yelp
Sad. I've been excited to have this stay, but we're going to have to keep the shades drawn the entire time. I can't decide what the worst part is: the air conditioning units, the roof, or the fact that there is a private balcony where I can go and sit to admire said air conditioning units. Now I will be spending the next week wishing I would have just gone with Motel 6.

Val G.

Yelp
Everyone I encountered at this resort was extremely kind and helpful. I was actually blown away by the staff, they showed top notch customer care... I actually felt like these folks cared about me. Everything I needed was at the resort, never had to leave. The pool was extra nice, I loved it and the hiking trails. The only qualms would be expensive! A cocktail was $16-17, thats more than a lot of downtown cities Ive been to. The menus were a tad limited in my opinion. Rooms were average clean, there was a lot of spider webs floating around on the ceilings. Overall, solid spot and amazing staff.

Nisha J.

Yelp
Stayed one night and wish I was able to stay longer! The views are beautiful, the resort itself is very calming and inviting when you walk into the lobby. There are 3 restaurants in the main building and then one maybe 30 seconds walk away. We only had breakfast there but their brunch looked amazing! Cons, no refrigerators or microwaves in room but you are able to rent if needed. Will come back and stay longer one day!

Yelp
My stay at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort during a recent work trip to Tucson was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire experience. The resort's location amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the Catalina Mountains provided a serene and picturesque backdrop for my stay. Waking up to the stunning desert landscape each morning was a true delight. The accommodations were luxurious and meticulously maintained, offering every comfort and convenience imaginable. The room was spacious, elegantly furnished, and provided a peaceful retreat after a long day of meetings and activities. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service provided by the staff. From the friendly security guard to the attentive front desk team, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and exceeded. Their genuine hospitality made me feel valued and appreciated throughout my stay. Overall, my stay at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort was nothing short of perfect. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already looking forward to my next visit. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a memorable and luxurious getaway in Tucson. Thank you to the entire team at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort for an unforgettable experience!

Yelp
We stayed for a weekend and had an amazing time. I love the details that's Loews thinks of, like fish food for the kids to feed the huge Koi in multiple ponds. The grounds are incredible and the pool is perfect. We loved spending time in the jacuzzi and the cold pool. The room was very clean and the customer service was beyond expectation. Aside from swimming all day, we enjoyed live music in the lounge and the famous "Blues, Brews, and BBQs" brunch on Sunday. It was so good and such a fun experience with great service from Cole! We will be back.

Susan E.

Yelp
My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal. I didn't eat mine. The atmosphere is very casual.

Brittany L.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here and cannot wait to go back! The staff is super friendly and welcoming! The pool was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious! We also went to the Flying V for dinner and it was outstanding!! The beds were also super comfortable!

Cathryn G.

Yelp
Y'all, this place is epically beautiful. When I went to U of A, I could only dream of staying here. Many years later, my dream has finally come true. An organization that I belong to was hosting a conference here and as soon as I saw the location. I jumped at it and signed up to present. The location of this hotel is just serene. The walking trails are magnificent. The sunsets are amazing. My room was very nice and nicely updated. My king size bed was very comfortable and I also had a sofa bed. Interestingly, I was upgraded to a two room suite. The sad part is it was just me since it was for a conference. So I ended up with a large living room a second TV and a second bathroom. This would be phenomenal when traveling with family . Alas, mine was not here but as soon as they saw that room, they wished they were. The rooms are well appointed and updated pretty well. My room had a small refrigerator and Keurig. I wish it also had a microwave. My only real complaint about my room was the television, as I could not figure out a way to stream Netflix or other services on the TV. I will say the Wi-Fi was a bit of a struggle as well. The bathroom was very nice and the tub was huge, like you could fit two large people in it huge, like bigger than my son's splash pool for the summer huge. I am a huge fan of baths and so I did not mind this enormous tub, not me, not one bit, however, it may not be the most ideal set up in a state that is struggling with water. Did I also mention the towels were full on bath sheets? Again, such a nice touch! As I stated, I was attending a conference at this hotel, and they did a great job with the conference. We were served continental breakfast in the morning, which came with excellent coffee and stellar choices of hot tea. Some conferences don't have tea, or they have bad tea, but this had Harney and sons, which is good stuff . The pastries for the continental breakfast were also above average. The lunch they served was really quite good. It was a lime chicken piccata and that was really yummy. The desserts were also really good. The risotto could use some work, but it's really hard to serve risotto to a large group of people as risotto requires a ridiculous amount of patience. The property is just gorgeous. The one thing I would say is that you can tell it's a little bit older by all of the glass block everywhere which sort of screams 1990s to me other than that though it's just really outstanding would definitely recommend. Service was top notch as well.

Yelp
This review is LONG OVERDUE. This IS the hotel to RELAX. Weather: I stayed here back in December of '22 and went back this past year around the same time. It can be pretty cold at night but during the day it is beautiful weather. Accomodations: I stayed in a king bed both of my stays. The first visit i was facing the koi pond/ fountain by the pool area. The sound of the water coming down from the natural waterfall INSIDE of the property made this stay even more relaxing. At night i got to enjoy the lights they have hanging by the pool. My second stay I was able to experience the opposite side of the hotel and the view is also amazing! I was able to see all of the city of Tucson and catch the sunrise on their observation deck. Bright and early with a coffe in hand, it was awesome, even saw a coyote run across the golf course. Food and Beverage: Food is delicious here. They have an AMAZING BRUNCH on Sundays. ALL YOU CAN EAT breakfast, BBQ, sushi, pastries and BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS! Everything was tasty, they even have an omelette station. They were grilling everything outside....meats, vegetables and even a bucket full of melted butter and corn....yes nice and warm! I could rave about this brunch all day. The Flying V is another amazing experience. I have dined here both times and both were elegant and relaxing. Theres a gentleman that plays live accoustic guitar, amazing! I got their jumbo shrimps the first trip and this last time I got some type of meat that I no longer see on the menu either unfortunately, but they were both delicious! The pool bar has an amazing corn in a bowl, similar to an esquite....super tasty! The lobby bar has good pizza and drinks! Resort: I was only there for 2 days each trip so I mostly just relaxed at the pool or fed the Koi fish. I did the small hike up to the waterfall and checked out the tortoise they have by the pool. The staff there are very tentive with families and have amenities and kid activites for kids and families to enjoy. The resort offers a shuttle down to a CVS and they will also pick you up from the CVS once youve shopped that area. They are quick and efficient each time! Love that shuttle, very handy! It also drops you off at a near by hike trail and once youre done, you send them a text and they will pick you back up to take you back to the hotel. Staff: The staff here is AMAZING. Everyone is welcoming with a great attitude. It shows how happy they are to work at this resort. Management MAKES IT HAPPEN! The front office manager Heather is an example of a true front office MANAGER. Made us feel right at home when we checked in. Offered water and recommended a lot of fun things to do during our stay. The other manager that was also absolutely amazing and is as warm and sweet as Heather is Mariam! Mariam is also very kind and went above to make sure my stay was going great. She also recommended a lot of good ideas while in Tucson and was also very tentive with kid activities since it was x-mas time. They have a x-mas tree in the lobby during December, A REAL X-MAS tree and it smells great. Theres a little table for kids to write a letter to santa, I thought it was amazing attention to detail. This property is very relaxing, whether it is with family, couples trip, or a solo trip... this property is amazing, the employees are amazing, friendly, and the food and drinks and delicious! Stay here if you want to relax and get away from the city life!

Yelp
My wife booked a weekend getaway for Father's day at this resort and was completely disappointed. The rooms were just ok for the price. The food at the lounge was pretty good but the food and drinks at the pool was horrible. My $27 pina colada tasted like blended ice and the nachos were so soggy they were almost inedible. The pool on Sunday during the brunch was very smoky due to the outdoor brunch. I would highly recommend staying at the JW Marriott Start pass or the Westin La Paloma vs Loews. Much better value for the money.

Sarah V.

Yelp
Our family loves to visit Loews Ventana once a year. For us it's a special occasion and treat to ourselves since it can get quite pricy. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is always friendly. We make reservations for every meal, especially during the holiday season since they can book up pretty quickly. Great for golfers, foodies, and those who like to lounge.

Misti L.

Yelp
Beautiful rustic resort! So many small things add up to "better" than your average resort, like fabric cloths for hand drying in the restrooms, a lit makeup mirror in the room, extra charging ports for tech, etc. Food choices, amenities, and the views are all great! We cannot wait to come back! Rudy by the pool kept the bloody Mary's flowing!

Megan M.

Yelp
Doggy vacation! We brought our Doberman on vacation with us because it was only an additional $100 for the whole stay for her to come with us. They do not have a breed restriction. We were told that dogs are allowed at the two grass areas. We did see a small and a large dog at the pool so I was confused about those rules. We had a great time and loved that they had fun things to do for the 4th of July weekend. They also gave out Italian ice and fresh cut watermelon. We went on a wonderful walk to the waterfall and it was so relaxing. We will be returning!

Nicole K.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by your valet (older gentleman) who was friendly and led us into the lobby to check in. Once at the counter another lovely associate who quite literally ran through every perk that came with our stay. She was courteous and so friendly. We entered our room and were pleasantly surprised in the space and convenience of the room. The room is beautifully decorated (maybe some things could be upgraded) but we loved it as it was. Perfect large tub and most importantly clean. We enjoyed immensely the live music at the lounge downstairs as well as the friendly staff telling us to grab a seat and cozy up-they would swing by and grab our drink orders. This morning, we woke up, went by the restaurant and enjoyed again the beautiful breakfast buffet (not huge but perfect-oh my god are those overnight oats a la arroz con leche in the martini cups?) We went on a morning hike, saw the waterfall, said hi to the koi fishes, played a round of pickle ball and got the best darn desert cocoon wrap of my life in the spa (Katie is awesome) and so is the girl in the front of the spa (so friendly and helpful). We are from Miami and out of towners but we visit frequently because our family lives in Tucson and this has by far been our best stay. It was intimate and felt tailored to us. Your housekeepers were also absolutely lovely, helpful and so friendly. You left me in owe and in love with this spot of heaven. Thank you so much, we really appreciated it even for this quick weekend getaway-you made it special.

Yelp
My wife and I were very much looking forward to our stay at the Lowes Ventana in Tucson. We had an excellent stay when we stayed prior to Covid. Our recent stay at the resort was Thursday Feb 29 with check out Sunday March 3. The grounds are beautiful and we very much liked the star gazing. However, we were let down in a number of areas- - the first day we needed to have the tv reset which unfortunately is an old non-smart tv, no streaming available - also on Thursday they ran out of cheese in the restaurant so they couldn't serve the pizza which was one of 4 things on the menu -the chicken (?) soup served via room service was cold, was a very small portion and was only broth and some noodles for $ 13-14 When asking the bartender on Saturday if they had received a shipment of cheese so we could have a pizza the bartender wasn't sure so he asked another worker at the corner of the bar. That employee berated the bar tender for not knowing and when I stepped in saying I was the one asking, the employee definitely heard me but continued to berate the bartender in front of us. . And finally there was a large wedding party , there for a 3 day wedding. during the 3 days there were times when the religious music was loud and hard to ignore. On Saturday we were awakened at 8 AM by loud chanting and a procession past the pool to where the ceremony was held. We realize that Lowes is happy to take a large wedding party but the guests should have been advised when making reservations or prior to their stay that there would be 3 days of services/ religious ceremonies taking place on the grounds. From an exclusive resort like Lowes I would have expected to be advised of the 3 day relgious ceremonies prior to our stay. That way we could have had an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing stay some other weekend or visit another quieter resort. I was going to send my concerns to the Lowes Ventana in Tucson. I called and asked for the resort managers name and email but gave up after being put on hold for 5 minutes after hearing my request. On a separate email I I asked for the email of the VP of Operations for all of Lowes' resorts. No response. In general not what we were expecting from an upscale resort. Please have management address our concerns. Email was sent directly to Lowes Management with no response from Lowes in Tucson. Been 2 weeks now and much harder for local management to address our specific concerns.

Yelp
Fantastic Mother's Day brunch. A huge selection of delicious food, good service, terrific view of the Catalina Mountains and an amazing harpist playing music for the event.

Yelp
This review is for their Sunday Brunch! Blues, Brews, & BBQ buffet. I came here on a Sunday specifically for brunch. I was greeted by valet who was very friendly and directed me where to go after I dropped off my car. At the hostess station I checked in and grabbed a mimosa while my table was getting ready. They have all you can eat breakfast foods, bbq, and seafood. Bottomless mimosas too! They have A lot of food options, inside they had the breakfast and seafood options, and outside they had the bbq options. (I will say outside had the food sitting out on warmers and not covered. I did not try the pulled pork because it had flies landing on it.) I did not get sick, but Unfortunately my friend got sick after a few bites of food and he did not get to enjoy the full experience and was in the bathroom most of the time. (a manager came over to our table while my friend was in the bathroom throwing up and I informed him my friend got sick from eating the food. he asked what made him sick, and I told him I was not sure. FYI, They still charged us for his meal.) They had a singer playing the piano out by the pool and it was a very good vibe. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! I recommend calling and making a reservation. I may possibly give this place another try in the future, but I was disappointed that the two of us paid, but only one of us actually was able to eat and drink.

Yelp
I went here for work. I had a great time. The hotel is beautiful. One of the nicest I have ever stayed in. It had beautiful views. The food in the restaurants was fantastic. Everyone at the hotel was warm and friendly. I liked it so much I would like to get back for a week and be able to take my time and enjoy it more. The pools and hot tub were fantastic.

Yelp
For my birthday, 8/14 I decided to book myself and my two little sisters a stay here for a couple nights. When I tell you I couldn't imagine a more perfect and beautiful place to stay... I truly mean it. The views were amazing, the staff was wonderful and for the first time ever I felt 100% comfortable during my stay. I'm so in love with this place and will absolutely be coming back when I have the means. Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and on top of your game. They all are such hard workers and made my stay so amazing. I ordered the charcuterie board as well and it was sooooo good! I'd love to have a sweet option with maybe some fruit, honeys, jams maybe! No complaints at all though, everything was so great

Yelp
Staying here to be close to my nephews wedding venue. We are at the Lodge part of Loews. Room and amenities are top notch. Everyone is super friendly. Attended a planned event on the patio the night before. All was perfect. The servers and the food and passed appetizers were delicious!! Also went to the bar afterwords and received excellent attention. The best part is the fact that the hotel will take you anywhere within a 2.5 mile radius. When I called to see if the would take us a tad further ( 3 miles)... no problem. Now that's a great resort. Next time I stay it will be to play a bit.. hang at the pool and get a massage. Thank you Loews. You are one of the best

Yelp
3.5 I wasn't in my room much since I went to eat at the Flying V Bar and spent most of my time at the pool (see my other reviews) but when I was there, I noticed it was extremely dark and did not have much natural light so I needed to turn on all my lamps. I had a mountain view which was pretty much right up against the mountain and I can see everyone else's balconies when I walked outside too since they were designed diagonally. The room itself was decent with a king size bed, couch and desk. What I liked most was the HUGE tub/shower in the bathroom. However, while I was brushing my teeth, some of the water backed up into the tub even though I haven't turned on the shower at all - they definitely have some plumbing issues. Like I mentioned, I was primarily at the pool and they were doing a lot of construction next to it. The sound didn't really bother me but it did make it really confusing going to the bathroom. However, it was nice walking around the resort and checking out the waterfall. Overall an okay experience but it's their restaurants that really knocked off a couple stars for me.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay at Loews Ventana Canyon. Bill's Grill had great pool side drinks and food as we lounged on our first night. Sunday we were able to partake in the Blues, Brews, and BBQ brunch. Wow for food! Glad we did a once over and established 'the must eats', because there was so much to choose from and there is no way you could conquer it all in one sitting. So many beautiful views from all over the property. The front looks out over Tucson's skyline, while the back has gorgeous mountain views with lots of different desert foliage and if you're lucky, maybe even some wildlife. Don't forget about the hike to the waterfall! The Director of Fish hiked with us to ensure the best angle was captured to get us, the waterfall, and the sky in the picture. The final night we had dinner at The Flying V. I had my eye on the Lamb shank and was bummed to hear they were out of them for the evening. Much to my surprise, they were able to go to the main kitchen inside the hotel for my dinner. The meal was delicious and views were spectacular as the sun set shortly after we arrived. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Beautiful high end resort. Great restaurants, bars pool, SPA and golf. Very dog friendly. If you have a dog and want to stay at a Luxury resort this is for you. I recommend the eggs Benedict or French toast for breakfast. Booked a massage for this afternoon. Very relaxing..

Yelp
An elegant resort with Frank Lloyd Wright lines and sweeping views of the Catalinas! It's Tucson's version of the Arizona Biltmore, with architecture and grounds that are beautiful and ecologically thoughtful. A peaceful walk along cactus-lined paths leads to a spring-fed waterfall and the mountain-dappled backdrop is incomparable. Among the best Tucson has to offer!

Yelp
4.5 Starts Beautiful resort -attended a 3 day conference here and the staff was very supportive and eager to help. The catered several meals and snacks - everything was done elegantly and well sourced, organic etc Parking is easy and the location is amazing at the bottom of the mountains - there's at least one trail head right in the grounds too!

Yelp
We had high hopes for this hotel. The bed was comfortable and the lobby is well appointed but the rest of our stay had some hiccups. The main pool is under construction and the noise was very loud and we were bummed to only have the small pool available and it closes early. We couldn't use it in the evening when we would have liked. The construction noise also made our balcony unusable. The idea of a giant bathtub is great, but it took forever to fill and was oddly uncomfortable and I am a bath person. They suggested that the tub should take the place of the hot tub availability. The meals we ordered also had mistakes and were incorrect and they said they would refund a portion of, but did not. When brought to attention of hotel they offered to comp our resort fee due to excessive construction noise etc. However, instead of refunding our resort fee they double charged our room rate to us so we paid twice and the billing team has not been available to take care of it. We are waiting for a refund of $1,044 plus resort fees plus a portion of our $132 meal. I will revise this review once they remedy the situation.

Yelp
This review is a late entry for the Thanksgiving dinner/buffet. It might have been the saddest holiday dinner out that we have ever paid for. We attended the Mother's Day buffet in May 2022, which was actually spectacular, so we had high hopes for a similar experience for Thanksgiving. We paid over $100/person, but barely even got to eat, because apparently we were the last seating of the day at 4 pm, and they started taking up all of the food at 4:30! With zero heads up mind you, just all of a sudden when I went to get my first real plate (after trying the disgusting shrimp cocktail), everything but the desserts was gone! All food and dessert was officially cleared out before 5pm, the advertised buffet end time. No apologies. No refunds. Just annoyed young staff glaring at us to leave so they could go home. Will never return.

Yelp
Finally returned for Christmas tea again, but with my daughter this time. Comparing to pre covid. Before it was beautifully decorated around the resort. Years ago they did a lavish tree lighting with gingerbread decorating and festive music and food. What has happened? Scant decorations and basic table decor. We were seated and they were still setting the table. White tablecloths with a vase of ornaments. Beautiful harp music but quiet for half of the experience. The tree was lovely and huge. Service was ok. Friendly staff and very slow. The bathrooms! First tea of the day (10am). The bathrooms were disgusting. Every toilet was filthy and loaded. The infused waters in the lobby-the dispensers had finger prints all over them. The pomegranate water barely dispensed. Come on Ventana. Over the years you've gone downhill. Less festive, not as enjoyable. For $165 for 2 for tea, I'd expect better. Even the plating was poorly done. Look at my before photos from my last review. Big difference. We hope to have a better experience like we have in the past.

Yelp
We recently spent 4 nights here while visiting our daughter. While it's a bit of a drive from U of A, we just love this resort and the Catalina foothills and to us it is worth the distance. The purpose of this review is to commend two employees who were exemplary and went above and beyond, Tori and Mark. (At Bills/Canyon cafe patio area) Their customer service was simply amazing, attentive, friendly and professional. Hiccups will happen, but it's how the staff deals with such hiccups that determine the outcome ultimately. Kudos to Tori and Mark, but also to everyone else at Loews. It's the customer service that will keep us coming back!

Yelp
Due to a completion of half of my medical school career I decided to treat myself to a staycation at Loew's Ventana Canyon resort. It's such a lovely resort because of all of the common spaces. I loved the lobby and the welcoming seats. The "backyard" of the resort had heaters and fires where you could sip a drink and enjoy the stars. The pool was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. All of the amenities were great but none compared to the lovely walking trail from the back of the hotel into the hill with a waterfall. It was so beautiful and well preserved! I love that the hotel kept nature as close to nature as possible. The room was pretty nice. I loved the large bathtub that could probably fit like 10 people my size. They also had a great covid policy and cleaned up common surfaces really well. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone looking to escape real life for a few days.

Yelp
It is with sad emotion that I'm writing a 3 star review at what used to be one of my favorite Tucson places to stay at. The property is gorgeous. The mountain setting is beautiful. The building is eclectic and fun to walk around in. The rooms are inviting and updated but walk the line of wear and tare in its detail. Our room was a suite. It was huge. The balcony was big. We faced the pool area. The bathroom had a double bath for a romantic couples bath. It screams "have sex" in me in its 4 corners. We used the room to its fullest. Where the rating comes in; 1. The bar downstairs is so pretty but oh so boring. They had a piano/guitar player/singer karaoke-ing to all the same songs we heard at the restaurant we went to earlier that night. Don't get me wrong. I love the talent and enjoy the original versions of these songs but holy hell - hours of the same entertainment attached to a bar that does nothing special to detach them from all the competition in Tucson. We tried our best to have fun with what was given and ended keeping our cash in our pockets. It seemed the heterosexuals who usually enjoy this type of entertainment we're bored and reaching extra far to enjoy the entertainment given. We had a breakfast credit. Next time we will just forgo the breakfast credit and go to one of the many local and very good Tucson breakfast/brunch businesses. Breakfast here is a meh. The buffet is so small. The cinnamon rolls are of the past. Replaced by banana bread, croissants and chocolate croissants which had no wow factor. There was an omelet station and I will say we enjoyed our omelet but you can get a made to order omelet anywhere. The sausages and bacon were plump and good. The rest of the spread was just easy continental breakfast you can get at a residence inn or Fairfield etc. I am harder on my expectations here at the Loews resort because it is not cheap to stay here and Loews is supposed to be extravagant and an experience. This hotel is a 3 Star experience. It is ran as a 3 star experience. When we left we felt it maybe our last time because this place doesn't scream anything special to get us to spend our money here. We are the hotel guests who come to a resort to stay and play at the resort. This Loews had us spending money elsewhere the whole weekend and checking out to stay somewhere else. Oh and the pictures of the view outside our balcony during the day says it all. Where's the details that creates the 5 star experience to equal the overnight cost ? (sad)

Yelp
was at this resort for a recent business visit. The property is absolutely amazing, so is the hotel with the exception of the rooms that could use an upgrade? I highly recommend this resort will definitely return on my next business trip

Yelp
From the time you make reservations from the time you get there and the staff from the parking lot to the interior all the way up to the room trips over themselves to fulfill your needs. going to hotels in Manhattan, Florida, Las Vegas, and all over the world. The customer service at this property is top-notch. The property itself could do some upgrades it's kind of dated but overall they made my daughters sweet 16 Very nice! decorated the room for me gave me discounts and every little thing I wanted. They were on top of it right away.

Yelp
My husband and I were on a Christmas road trip and after a exhausting drive from TX, we decided to make a stop at Tucson and splurge on a stay at Loews. The resort itself is nestled at the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. Suffice to say, the natural beauty of the area is breathtakingly gorgeous. The skies were dramatic at sun set and sun rise, providing quintessential dramatic backdrops for the indigenous saguaros surrounding the property. I will say it wasn't exactly convenient to get to as it was quite a ways off the 10 freeway, but par for the course in trying to get away and disconnect. We had no intentions of straying too far from our plush king bed, so we had all of our meals, snacks and drinks at the resort. The young staff at the Canyon Cafe, Vista Barista and Cascade Lounge were all personable and courteous, but the food was mediocre and prices were on the higher-end though I can concede to paying for convenience. The only hiccup with our stay was that there was an issue at check-in, but that was quickly handled without a need for me to intervene. The room was clean and spacious albeit tired. The oversized tub was perfect for soaking. Parking was plentiful and easy, but my husband and I spotted a bobcat roaming this area Christmas morning. I only wish that we were able to go on the hiking trails or see the 80 foot waterfall the resort boasted but as it was late afternoon when we finally felt recharged enough, the trail was blocked off...and we heard another guest complain to staff in the lobby that the waterfall was "turned off."

Yelp
Hotel staff are professional, polite and courteous. Enjoyed the star gazing. Very clean room.

Yelp
My dog and I stayed here in June, but I forgot to write a review until now. Very comfortable beds, good food, and beautiful grounds. We loved the walking paths, butterfly refuge, and waterfall. Lots of grass for your dog too, plus they gave us a welcome package with dog bowls, a mat, a collar tag, and I think a couple other things.

Yelp
Stayed here a few months ago and loved it. This visit has been awful. Check in desk manager was rude and confrontational about what they had previously confirmed for early check in. Don't trust what your are told and take names if anyone confirms your reservation.

Yelp
It all started with arriving in our unvacuumed room and my dog eating things off the floor. Once I noticed what he was doing, I had to hold him for over an hour after a 6 hour drive from Palm Springs. Then the heater didn't work and was unable to be fixed by the very nice gentleman in engineering. They were unable to fix the heater issue. We also called about the bathroom sink, which once you ran water would not drain. The picture included was the next morning. They tried to snake the sink and they needed to do something else, but after Hours of the kind gentleman trying to accommodate us , we were done because of being exhausted. Did I mention once the heater wasn't able to be fixed, a portable heater was brought, then I asked for another , but it kept tripping the circuit breaker. So back to one portable heater for a 1300 sq.ft suite. Housekeeping should have brought to the attention of the clogged sink. Housekeeping should have vacuumed the room prior to our arrival. Now when house keeping did arrive, he was very nice and we tipped him kindly. It did take the guest services an hour to get the kind gentleman here. There are a few other touches that should be looked at before arrival tired traveling guests. I'd add more, but I'm tired and we are searching for a new hotel. We also asked to speak to a manager and we were told they were in a meeting. Never received a call back. I'd be happy to remove this review with a kind call. I am updating 2 days later December 17,2022, that I've been told 3 times that the manager was going to call. After all of our interaction with the employees on the property, it's clear they want their guests to have a good experience, but the managers don't care.

Yelp
We stayed an evening at Loews last night. I had always wanted to stay, and so we got there late and headed to the Flying V for dinner. We sat by the water and enjoyed the deck view. Our waitress however, was not high end. She barely said few words, we had to ask for a heater, ask for more drinks, and almost serve ourselves. The guacamole was over salted, but the risotto and ahi tuna were phenomenal. The property is beautiful and reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright. We woke up to a waterfall and explored the terrain. Definitely recommend the walks. The butterfly garden was being renovated and the tortoises were sleeping. The spa, well, that was something to be desired. No service at the 18+ pool. Had to ask for a robe, sandals, lockers didn't seem to work right, and access to get back in the building wasn't working until I asked. The spa needs an update as well. It's tired.

Yelp
Loved it . There for a medical conference. Large building with a nice gym in a separate building . Everything I ate in each of their restaurants was delicious. They have an award winning Sunday brunch and it looked amazing but I didn't get to try it Staff in the gift shop and spa a little snotty and unwelcoming . I walked in and walked out within moments both places just based on the staff. Everywhere else the staff was very welcoming . It's a bit off the beaten path so if you want to explore beyond their beautiful grounds , rent a car .
