Loft - HI Eco Hostel & Bar

Wow! I really loved this location and the community was great! I have stayed at multiple hostels in my travels so I am familiar with shared spaces. I stayed in the 8 room female dorm with a shared bathroom. They provide ear plugs and all the guests I encountered were courteous. The price was phenomenal for all of the amenities. I used the kitchen daily and loved all of the community space to hang out. I was able to store my luggage upon early arrival and for my late departure. They even have a bar and esspresso/coffee. They have an amazing rooftop area as well! The staff were very kind and helpful. I was impressed by how clean and organized they keep everything. I would definitely recommend this place to any other solo travelers. 10 out of 10.

The location is excellent, with easy access to food options and shops. I stayed in an 8-bed female dorm, and the room was very spacious with its own private bathroom and a hairdryer provided. However, the storage space is insufficient, and there is no bedside reading light for each bed, which would have improved comfort. The common area is large and very impressive, offering plenty of space to relax. The kitchen is well equipped and even provides free seasonings, which is a great bonus for travelers. Overall, a comfortable stay, though minor improvements in room amenities would make it even better.**

Having stayed in hostels across Europe and Asia, Loft HI hostel is one of the best hostels given its excellent location, room size and the facilities they offer. The location is right in the heart of the city and the social kitchen is fully stacked with utensils for cooking and lot of free snacks/tea/coffee for the guests to enjoy. Would highly recommend to book if you are looking for an excellent place to stay but on a budget.

This was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The location was perfect and very easy for the tours, the staff was amazing and polite, the beds were clean and comfortable too. We also did some of the hostel activities and they were really fun, specially the Icelandic beer tasting. I managed to see the best northern lights from the kitchen balcony and it was definitely a highlight. Will definitely stay again next time.

Beautiful and friendly hostel. Rooms are cleaned daily. Very friendly staff. The owner is lovely and has a beautiful dog. The bar area is a plus, full of sofas, chairs, and all kinds of games. Last but not least, a magnificent terrace overlooking the main street downtown. The kitchen is open 24/7. Super central location.

I can’t fault my stay at Loft. The location is excellent and the dorm room was warm, safe, clean and comfortable. Lovely hot water in the bathroom, courtesy of those Icelandic springs. It’s close to the city centre, the beautiful shore and bus stops fur your transfers or if you’re planning to take part in tours. If you’re travelling alone, it’s well worth choosing Loft as you’ll meet friendly fellow travellers in your dorm room or the bar upstairs. Checking in and out were easy too. And the bar has an excellent roof terrace too with great views. A definite recommend!

Very pleasant experience. I will say I wish the staff was a bit more friendly. I arrived early after a long travel day and had to try very hard to get help at reception. I interacted very little with the staff, although I would have liked to more if they were more friendly. Other than that, good rooms and great location.

This was my first time both solo travelling and staying at a hostel, I was a bit nervous but staying at Loft was one of the highlights of my whole trip. I stayed at a 4 bed room with all females, the rooms were incredibly clean and straightforward, and I think this hostel attracts a very young, creative, and courteous/polite crowd. The staff upstairs working at the check in/cafe are SO nice, everyone speaks fluent English and are so patient and willing to give recommendations. The location could not have been better, a 3 min walk away from 2 major bus stops and right in the middle of the fun downtown. Highly recommend!
