"The Auberge du Vieux-Port is housed in a 19 th -century leather merchant building and faces directly onto the St. Lawrence River, with its summertime cruise ships and wintertime snowy beauty. The hotel opened in 1997, with a second building—another old warehouse—added in 2001. Original beams, brick, and stonework give the lobby a historic feel, as does the gorgeous, wood-framed fireplace. The rooms combine original features such as large casement windows with ultra-luxe touches like marble bathrooms and multi-jet showers. Breakfast is complimentary and goes far beyond the usual buffet to include a full à la carte menu (the eggs Benedict are sublime); it can even be delivered to guests' rooms for an indulgent breakfast in bed. The old port location puts guests right in the thick of things. Camera-toting tourists on horse and carriages clip-clop past by day, while at night the streets buzz with the city’s fashionable inhabitants chatting in French and English on their way to visit the latest bar or restaurant."

The staff working a this hotel are phenomenal and work tirelessly to make the guests happy. The location of this hotel is excellent though it is a bit loud as it is bordered by two popular tourist streets and entertainment. There are two metro lines close by which means You have easy access to the rest of the city. |The common area aesthetics are also very nice. However, the bed mattresses and lumpy pillows were awful. They have wonderful sheet and towels but the bedding essentials for comfortable sleep were not there. I do not think the price is reflective of the amenities at this hotel. They serve coffee and tea in the am but it is isn't till 7:45-8 am and unfortunately was not always warm . They have two wonderful adjoining restaurants which they refer you for breakfast and dining. Not a hotel for an early sleeper or early riser.

This is my ideal hotel. An intimate utterly charming old building full of character and meticulously maintained. And yet this small hotel has THREE eateries, all with outdoor dining (front, back, and rooftop). The staff was warm, friendly, and responsive. And the rooms, while in the small side, were thoughtfully accessorized with everything one needs. I LOVE the openable windows overlooking the river. If you enjoy old world charm, this is the place.

I booked this place because of the great reviews. I did notice one negative review but didn’t think much of it—unfortunately, it turned out to be accurate. Initially, I left a positive review because my check-in experience with the concierge and valet was excellent. However, after my stay, I felt it was important to update my review based on the overall experience. The lofts are visually charming and have a European feel at first glance. But the reality is that the walls are incredibly thin, the windows let in a lot of street noise, and I could hear every footstep, door, and movement from the neighboring loft. The noise from outside continued well into the early morning—around 2 to 3 AM. I traveled solo and wouldn’t recommend this hotel for solo travelers due to the noise and the feeling of insecurity. At times, the sound was so loud and clear that I couldn’t tell if someone was opening my door or theirs—it honestly felt like the conversations were happening inside my own room. While the bedding and bathroom were clean, the hardwood floors were dusty and gritty, and my socks were filthy after walking around for just a short time. Old doesn’t have to mean dirty—the aesthetic was lovely, and the bedding was spotless—but better soundproofing and cleanliness (especially of the floors) would make a big difference. Note: location and service 10/10

The Auberg is a non-assuming hotel that looks more historical than modern. We chose it over the many commercial venues because it has a cosy and friendly vibe. The room was spotless, the sheets clean and the bed very comfortable. The toiletries were high-end. We walked bare-footed in our room, it was that clean. On checking out, at noon (very generous time), Thomas offered to arrange a taxi. We said our flight was at 6:30 pm. He then offered to allow us to maintain our room until 4 pm. That turned out to be very helpful because we returned to our room at 3 and then relaxed for an hour before heading to the airport. Thanks to Thomas and toThe Auberg!!!|Only problem was we chose and paid for a king size bed on the top floor looking out toward the river. When we arrived, they said the room was no longer available? We were offered two similar rooms on the first floor and a queen bed on the top floor, which we chose. But we chose and paid in advance for the king. Disappointing

The suite was elegant, the on site restaurants are a step above and the staff is always kind and helpful. It was our second trip to Montreal and our second stay at this property. We enjoyed Gaspar’s as well as the|PINCETTE LOBSTER BAR where we had breakfast every day. I know it was good as people came in off the street to eat here. Right in the heart of Old Montreal it’s charming and historic. Our upcoming cruise was right across the street and walkable.

The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. The loft was immaculate and very stylish and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better location to see Old Montreal. Steps from restaurants, shops and the pier. Close to the Basillica and Bonsecours market. It had THE most amazing shower and loved that it had a Nespresso machine. We ate out, but you could prepare a meal in, the kitchen was well appointed. I will never stay anywhere else in Montreal!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel last week (06/11/2025- 06/15/2025), the concierge staff was so helpful both before our check-in and during our stay.||We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and the concierge/front desk staff communicated with me prior to our arrival regarding a birthday cake in our room and dinner reservations. Everything was perfect.||During our stay Louise and Jeremey at the front desk were so helpful. Louise made sure everything was perfect for my husband's celebration and Jeremey was so helpful in getting dinner reservations - especially due to the F1 weekend.||I give you hotel a 5 star review. Thank you for everything.

A lovely boutique hotel in the best part of Montreal! Reception staff were responsive and able to accommodate our early check in request, valet was timely and so helpful, and the atmosphere was top notch! They also had lovely recommendations for restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay here again!
