The people are very friendly and helpful. The food was tremendous; I ordered the avocado & turkey croissant, and the thing was the size of Popeye's forearm, and absolutely delicious. They have a great gluten-free selection, as well.

A friend took me here for lunch. We had our dogs with us at the Del Mar dog Beach so we needed a place where they are welcomed. This place was perfect with shaded outdoor seating, free dog treats, and a water bowl. We ordered at the front counter and food was brought to our table. We found a table in the back. The drinks were delicious. My friends really like their matcha tea drink. The superfood bowl was quite big too. The croissant turkey sandwich I got was delicious as well. We were all pretty happy with what we ordered. There is a small parking lot at the restaurant. I was lucky enough to nab the last spot. My friends weren't so lucky and had to seek parking elsewhere on the very busy Cedros Ave.

Great coffee, friendly service. It's always a good sign when the barista can tell you about the source of the beans and the flavor profiles of the blend - and of course they nail it on the pull. Flavor is excellent, milk skills could improve a bit but every bit an enjoyable drink. Best coffee so far in my trip to Del Mar.

Let me tell you the story about Lofty Coffee Solana Beach Café and my experience there. I was actually invited to go on a spontaneous date from a girl I matched with on Hinge 😳 😄. She was trying to find a nice spot that would appeal to both of our home locations. She eventually suggested Lofty Coffee Café in Solana Beach. The Lofty Coffee is a quick ride down the road once you get off the 5 Hwy. I appreciate that proximity, because it makes it easier to get to from Oceanside. We both found street parking and made our way over. At the entrance, there's a menu that also has a QR code for access on our phones. We then got in line and made our menu selections reading the menu on our phones. Seeing as it was 3:00PM, there were a few people dining-in and it was relatively quick to get serviced. As an extra convenience, there's also the menus located on 2 tv monitors above the register. After ordering, we took our number holder and found seating on their patio that overlooks the street. I ordered an Organic Golden Milk. This was heavy with turmeric (which I love for anti-inflammation) & honey. The turmeric foam was very dense at the bottom and it provided a gentle warming spice upon sipping. The heart design was cute too. I also ordered a Delicious Toast with peanut butter, honey, bananas & seeds to go along with my Golden Milk. My date ordered an arugula & endive salad and some hibiscus lemongrass tea. Loved the figs on top as well. We were very pleased with our meals and appreciated that the ambiance was casual and quiet, which allowed us to relax and talk undisturbed. The edible flowers on top & the company of finches (birds) was also a nice touch. The service friendly & attentive and their establishment was clean. Overall, I recommend The Lofty Coffee Solana Beach Café ESPECIALLY if wanting a quiet place to converse. Our meals & drinks came up to $35 together. A decent date spot.

This is a pretty sharp and a nice location on a fun Street. Definitely an enjoyable spot to go for a nice lunch. Definitely high-end coffee shop prices and it stops serving drip coffee at noon. So no refills (a personal thing for me) but a nice place to sit on a sunny day The espresso was well prepared. I had a shot, an Americano (decently balanced, just a touch watery) and a campfire pour over (this was my least favorite of the three).

Google
Lofty Solana Beach has a great atmosphere and lots of tables and bar stools to hang out or meet a friend. Won't go to Starbucks but love to support the smaller coffee shops that brew up some great pour overs and speciality coffee and teas. This coffee shop also has a food menu and everyone we saw had some great looking plates. Also dog friendly, see my picture of the dog next to us waiting for some treats :)

I love this Cafe near Solana Beach. It's few mins walk to the beach and the interior decor is super cozy. The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a wide variety of coffee and tea flavors and it's really good. There's plenty of seating and it's pet friendly. We will definitely come back.

I had a lovely breakfast on a Saturday morning here, coffee and food was delicious! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Relaxing spot to sip on your coffee while catching up with friends. The service was good, orders came out quick. The parking lot is small but glad that they do have a parking lot. There is street parking. My favorite is the Iced Salted Caramel Latte. The coffee was strong with a little sweetness to it. If you're in the area please stop by, you will it be disappointed. Thank you Lofty Coffee staff for your hospitality.

Yelp
Oh my gosh the matcha was so cheeks. I could not finish and I always finish beverages. I had a really good loaf though. Very cute atmosphere. A lot of outdoor seatings. I would have come again to study it their matcha doesn't taste straight up like grass.

Yelp
Good, simple, healthy food and good coffee. Nice outside patio! The only bummer is the coffee is so expensive!! a 12oz specialty coffee (mocha, vanilla latte) with oat milk is $7.50. I know things have gotten expensive everywhere but this is insane to me!!

Maggie J.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and great food! Patio is a bit crowded, can be difficult to find seating.

Yelp
Great brunch spot in the design district of Solana Beach. Ordered the chicken croissant sandwich and helped myself (lol) to my friend's acai fruit/granola bowl. I had their salted caramel latté this time and the chocolate chunk salted cookie stared at me from the glass case silently saying well, you gotta get me too, to match. Ok I did, and was worth it.

Alison E.

Yelp
I stopped in here while visiting Solana Beach and was thoroughly impressed! The vibe of the coffee shop is indoor outdoor and has a lot of cute options for seating. There is also a small lot by the shop and easy street parking. My Matcha was delicious and flavorful, and the chocolate chip cookie was one of the best I've ever had! The staff were so kind and friendly, and were able to help us pick something off the menu since my group was so overwhelmed by the options. If I am ever in the area, I would definitely stop by again.

Yelp
Little spur of the moment checked out this coffee shop while happened to be in the area, so glad I did! Really cool atmosphere with outdoor seating. Fast service. They have Kyoto style cold brew which I have never seen at another local coffee shop before so that was pretty neat as I am more of a cold brew fan. Enjoyed the Cloudy with a chance of Cold Brew, perfect amount of sweetness with the vanilla cream cold foam. If ever in the area will definitely make a trip here.

Aaron L.

Yelp
I stopped by here twice when I was nearby to pick up relatives from the train station. The Aztec mocha was definitely interesting but I really liked the salted caramel latte!

Thea M.

Yelp
I ordered the quickie avocado toast and vanilla latte with almond, both were delicious. The girls working behind the counter were busy, but a "hello, welcome, we'll be right with you" goes a long way for your customers to feel welcomed. I will continue to come here because the food and coffee are great, and the space is nice to enjoy your coffee outdoors.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop in Solana Beach located in the heart of the Cedros Design District. Parking is available but it's a small lot, if not street parking is also available. Coffee is always a good option and they have great breakfast options to accompany your coffee or tea. Beach is walking distance if you decide to get to go and enjoy it by the beach!

Jodi M.

Yelp
Wow. Organic. Fresh. Local owned Yum. The front, back and side patios surround a small kitchen bar set up. And they produce fabulous and fresh dishes to a very appreciative crowd. Kitchen closes at 3 but at 2:45 it is full of happy patrons. I had a croissant sandwich with egg, cheddar, ham arugula and tomato jam. It was special and followed by decadent mocha made with their ganache. Wow.

Romi A.

Yelp
Premium prices for basic food...feels like I got swindled. Way better options within walking distance.

Star B.

Yelp
Mocha Latte-- perfect temp and perfect setting. The service is fast and friendly. Bring your friend, pull out your laptop, but don't work to hard. Aesthetic perfection :) Take the pic, life's short.

Mario S.

Yelp
Two coffees, eggs and a turkey croissant was 47 dollars!!! Really? No dude, that's not the way to treat the community. Complete rip offp

Mark O.

Yelp
Healthy eats and innovative coffee, and latte choices. Food: I like the Encinitas, which is poached egg and sliced avocado. Very fresh and delicious. Coffee drinks: My fave coffee is the mocha Azteca, which is a mocha latte but with a little spicy kick. Not too spicy either, just enough. I recommend this place 5-stars.

Nastaran M.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop to meet up with friends or get work done in the beautiful Solana Beach. They can get pretty busy on weekends so expect to wait a few minutes for your coffee. I really enjoyed the aztec maya, it had a nice spicy kick with the mix of rich chocolate, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. I liked it so much that Ive been making it at home everyday. The matcha donut looks beautiful but didn't have too much flavor; definitely more subtle.

Juliana T.

Yelp
Passing through, my SIL recommended I stop here to get coffee for the road. This cafe has a great cool vibe with a nice outdoor patio. The storefront's walls open up making it open and chill. I ordered a mocha and some pastries. Everything was divine. Will back through again!

Catalina G.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop! The food here is amazing. The outside and inside seating area is clean and well kept. It's perfect for having a nice breakfast on a sunny day in san diego! I had the açaí bowl and the caramel latte it was so amazing. Great service, food comes out quick. Lots of available parking! I give it a 8.8/10

T K.

Yelp
First time here. Decided to get it to Go. The person at the register was very helpful and nice. Ordered a London fog and The Cedros. The eggs were cooked perfectly. And the Fog was delicious! I thought parking would be a problem but found a spot close by. It's all outdoor seating. No view but beach near by.

Karine C.

Yelp
Met a friend here for coffee and breakfast. My friend found a hair in her breakfast and took it up to show staff. Not only was that gross but what was extremely disappointing was that even though staff apologized there was no offer to refund her the breakfast! This spot is now off our list for the future. That's untrue Eric. This is not "lashing out". Everyone was polite and your reply is inaccurate.

Ruzanna M.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot!! We came here after annie's canyon hike and it was the perfect after hike fuel! The coffee was GREAT and the acai bowl looked so pretty and tasted very good too. Will be coming back here to try more of their food & coffee!

Kathy N.

Yelp
Completely. Amazing. We had breakfast here while vacationing in Solana Beach, and the French toast and "Flower Child" toast (artisan French bread, almond butter, banana slices, coconut, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, honey) were delectable, with generous portions. We also shared a great scone that looked like blueberry but is savory egg, sausage, and spinach. Coffee was wonderful and rich, and my latte had thick, lasting foam even with nonfat milk--plus a beautiful design that I hated to stir in. Add a great outdoor patio and a sunny January day, and we were in heaven. We will definitely go back if in the area again.

Korina S.

Yelp
Came here for a weekday lunch and it was quite busy. We ordered lunch and hot drinks. Food took about 30 minutes. The food was delicious. Had the Turkey sandwich, breakfast sandwich, and a salad...all excellent. The chai tea and matcha latte were okay. A bit too much froth. Had better. Parking can be a challenge but not terrible. This is a good spot to meet with friends if you are not in a hurry.

Eunice T.

Yelp
Wow, this place was certainly popular on a weekend morning. Fortunately, the parking lot was decently big so we had no trouble parking. I really love the atmosphere of this coffee shop. It's open-aired, yet comfy. They also offer a lot of food options (bakery items + breakfast food). I've never felt this tempted by the food behind the glass until I came here. We ordered the cold brews - one Kyoto style and one lofty-style Nola. I enjoyed my Lofty-style Nola. If you like sweet, non-bitter coffee, this is definitely the one to choose. Both cold brew tasted very smooth.

Hanna S.

Yelp
Admittedly I didn't try the coffee, but this is a solid spot to grab a quick bite. I tried the Little Italy (croissant, poached eggs, tomatoes, arugula) and it was all wonderfully fresh. It's also mostly outdoors (much of it is covered) with a decent amount of seating which is really nice when the weather is good.

Shalini G.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for so many years...but i'm not so great at getting out of the house early on a weekend. this past weekend my daughter had to be on Cedros at 8 am so I had about 30 min to wait. Instead of waiting in my car (I do that way too much) I decided to wait at Lofty Coffee. This was perfect since we already had planned to have breakfast afterwards. I ordered my coffee...thought about waiting to order food until she arrived but I didn't want to wait in that line again. By the time my daughter arrived, I had just gotten my coffee and food arrived soon after. She stood in line and ordered her food. Both arrived in a timely manner and we enjoyed our breakfast and conversation in a serene setting. There is something truly magical about being out in the crisp morning air and we were lucky enough to find a warm patch of sunshine where we were sitting. So...the next time i manage to emerge from my home this early...this may likely be my destination. only wish...would love to order online and pickup! maybe that is already an option that i do not know about.

Nell C.

Yelp
So delicious breakfast bites and coffee/tea drinks. Service is always happy here! Servers ask you how you are doing and it is a great feeling to be here in a great space. Establishment is clean and ambiance is open and airy.

Maria Elena B.

Yelp
Great food, cappuccino and service. We were in the ocean side one. Did not realize there was a bigger place across the street.

Audrey L.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop in Solana Beach! Parking is tough in this area just because of the location, but was lucky to find some street parking close by. I was there for a work meeting and ordered a regular latte and The Encinitas, which came with poached eggs, avocado and a spread with artisan toast. It took a little bit for the food to come out since they were very busy, but the avocado toast was really good. The latte was also good but I'd probably give one of their specialty drinks a try next time!

Gina V.

Yelp
My friend wrote a review based on our experience Sept. 28 2024 at the Solana Beach location and I see the owner (?) accused her of lashing out and lied about the manager "trying to make it right". We were in yesterday morning but when I found a hair in my avo-hummus toast, I brought it up to the front counter. The woman who literally only replied, "oh do you want us to re make it?" I said "no" (ick), she took my plate and walked away. Then I walked back to our seat. They had a line of several people otherwise I would have gone back and asked for a refund. I called just now and the helpful person agreed to refund my card. Meanwhile, I hope the owner who responded to my friend on here takes a cue from how to treat customers (especially women) and not use language like "lashing out" when all we are doing to expressing what happened. We won't return to Lofty, SD County has myriad better options!

Bill B.

Yelp
I wish I could remember what I got. Something spicy and coffee. And awesome. Such a fan of this place and if I ever have to have a meeting in North County, this is where I'm heading. I've even taken my family there on weekends.

Nichole Y.

Yelp
Came for a quick bite and coffee before going on the Annie's Canyon hike. They don't have any indoor seating and all the seating is outdoors so you can bring your dogs here. I got the London Fog latte which was very light in taste and not sweet at all. Kind of tasted like watered down milk with a hint of tea flavor. The turkey arugula croissant was freshly toasted but wasn't that flavourful. The only seasoning was a light drizzle of balsamic glaze on the arugula. The only redeeming quality was the portion size and the avocado which was just ripe.

Essie K.

Yelp
I stopped by after a walk with a friend and was overall happy with our experience. This Lofty coffee is located on the main strip of downtown Solana beach. It's all outdoor seating, which works well during the pandemic. Although there were a lot of tables in the front and back, it was pretty packed even on a weekday late morning. There was a line the whole time we were there. So I can imagine it's even busier on the weekends. My matcha latte (requested cold) was good with their homemade almond milk but I wish there was more matcha flavor in it. My friend liked her vanilla latte with almond milk. She also enjoyed the organic avocado toast with their gluten free bread option. The one downside is parking can be tricky given how busy this street gets. There's a small parking lot and street parking.

John C.

Yelp
Great coffee, atmosphere, & always friendly service. Glyzah the manager does a great job cultivating a friendly staff. Sophie is also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Trisha V.

Yelp
Lofty is a locally established brand which I appreciate very much but it is not the best. The coffee drinks are very sweet, and the regular coffee is bitter a little bit like the brews from Starbucks. They make their own pastries which is no easy task but my croissant was a little dry and the filling wasn't very flavorful. They make their own syrups and if you get a flavored drink they're a little bit better than the regular drip coffee I'm bummed because they're everywhere and these coffee shops are super cute and super popular but I wouldn't say they are the best in San Diego.

Eric B.

Yelp
As a coffee junkie, I can appreciate good coffee and this is not shy from being fantastic coffee. There's so much about Lofty coffee that I appreciate. It's a quaint coffee spot in downtown Solana Beach and has very great design element with such a great feel. Their coffee smells and tastes amazing. I will definitely be purchasing some of their coffee beans to try at home in my espresso machine. Our first time there, we tried their pumpkin cold brew which is pictured and it was amazing! It's topped with crumbled graham cracker and compliments the drink well. We also tried their iced salted caramel latte which was good but I liked the pumpkin cold brew much more. If you're in the Solana Beach area and live coffee, you HAVE to try Lofty coffee. You won't be disappointed!!

Sony M.

Yelp
Very popular coffee shop in Solana Beach but they never have enough parking so finding parking here is a big hassle. Food is okay. Not that great. Coffee is good.

Griselda R.

Yelp
Coffee never disappoints. Pastries are so amazing as well. This location is very nice

Sherry B.

Yelp
Favorite weekend coffee spot. Great area to stroll into the stores and overall very energetic yet calming location to get a cup of coffee or food.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Yooo their açaí bowl is really good. I wasn't expecting to like it at all because I'm super picky with açaí. But their açaí reminds me of a fancier version of SD blenders by SDSU (which btw has good açaí) but this place is def better than SD blenders. I like how they add hemp hearts, cacao nibs, and pumpkin seeds to their açaí! And how they easily omit the peanut butter. Sometimes I'll ask places for no PB and they still put it *insert angry emoji here* but this place respected my peanutbutterless açaí bowl wishes The Aztec mocha is HELLA spicy LOL. Like I can handle spice and was told it was spicy by the cashier but was taken aback by how spicy it was. Like ppl usually say something is spicy, and it doesn't end up being spicy. The Aztec mocha is like if you went to a hot chicken sandwich place and ordered a medium spice sandwich LOL. But still really delicious. they have parking which is always a plusss I just remember trying the downtown location once and I wasn't a fan, but maybe that's bcuz I ordered an iced tea lol. Overall delicious drinks and açaí, good customer service, and beautiful outdoor atmosphere. Would def be back!

Nicole T.

Yelp
Solid option for coffee in the area! I got the lofty style Nola which is basically a vanilla cold brew and thought it was pretty good. It was a little watered down but that might have just been an off drink. I liked how the chicory flavor wasn't too strong but you can still tell it is there. I went on a Saturday late morning and there was a bit of a wait not only to order but also to get the drink. I got it to-go, but there seemed to be a few seats available for those who want to stay and enjoy the scenery. Parking was pretty easy as well.

Chrystal C.

Yelp
Boutiquey joint with flavorful concoctions. The vibe was so chill, the baristas were in no rush to get our drinks out to us. We didn't wait long, though and they were friendly with smiles. Glad I tried the Lofty-style Nola: cold brew, chicory, and house-made vanilla topped with a mint leaf. Not too sweet, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Maya S.

Yelp
Solid food, solid drinks! lots of seating available and the location has a lot of stuff you can do. For the cold brew and sandwhich it was almost 25$ with tax

Robin S.

Yelp
This coffee shop has Fantastic pastries! Gf options, vegan options, I would recommend for all to find something they enjoy

Swapnil J.

Yelp
Lofty is my hangout spot when I have to meet a colleagues from work that live down in San Diego for a coffee. It's a perfect halfway drive for both parties if you are driving from the North County. Okay, fine.. it's more closer to the North county! Who is counting miles when there is good coffee? You grab a cup of coffee and then go walk down to the beach for a sunset or just do window shopping around Cedros Design District.

Patrick P.

Yelp
I live in the city but come up to north county frequently. I've been to Lofty before so I decided to work here for a bit because I'm in Solana today. The place is great, it's all outdoor but there's also a lot of shade which is awesome for working. The coffee is also really good. It's a bit expensive, but it makes sense considering the location. I feel obligated to buy something when I work at a coffee shop (as all remote workers should) so I got a cortado. I then set up my spot and started working. When my laptop battery started getting low I went to plug in my charger and noticed a lock on the outlet. I went to ask the girl working what the code was and she mentioned she did not know it and she did not know why they were locked. I guess the owners don't want people staying for extended periods of time. I find this a bit strange and rude, considering people go to coffee shops to work and/or charge their phones when they're out and about, it's a part of modern coffee shop culture culture, especially for a place that is priced like this. For how expensive the drinks and good are, this convenience should be available to customers. It was my bad for not checking the outlet situation first but I've now just wasted $6 on a cortado I would not have bought had I realized they were permanently locked. It's good coffee, but don't come if you plan on working or charging anything.

Jay M.

Yelp
Gets really busy at the weekend but super nice for breakfast or lunch during the week when it is quieter. Single origin espresso americanos are my favorite. Had the açaí bowl this time. Really liked that there was loads of fruit, but found it a bit too sweet for me (the granola was very sweet and suspect it's not pure açaí used but some sort of sweetened version).
