We were looking for ice cream at Kings Beach and stumbled upon this place. Bought a smores sundae and a double Huckleberry sundae. Both were very good. Prices were about average for this kind of place. Good vibes and friendly customers here. Service was great. Highly recommended...Thumbs up!

Google
What a Great Place! Real Dairy Stuff!!! Delicious, high-fat ice cream, The way God intended it. We (Diana) and I were coming home from Lincoln,Ca. As we came to the top of Lake Tahoe/Kings Beach. It's been only a handful of times that I have had a Milkshake like I had as a Kid? It was So Good, I wish I had got a Shake for just Me! Can't wait to head that way soon for more of this place....

Google
Such a great experience ice cream was good love how they just include toppings when you buy an ice cream. The staff was really friendly. Love the back area to chill outside as we eat our ice cream tons of fun games laying around to play the kids could run around and have fun in a safe environment. This is one of those family on businesses that just understands the experience is equal to the product. Very well done.

Google
Gave me one scoop when I asked for 2. Graham crackers were in huge chunks not broken up very well at all. the ice cream is mid and I'm guessing bought from a distributor. After reading other reviews that allegedly asked the owner. Apparently they refused to say where they get their ice cream. It seems that they used to be a good shop but fell under different ownership and they took it in a different direction. Oh yeah and the price for 2 ice creams was 32$ don't forget they forgot my second scoop I paid for. I would not recommend this location as well due to the no tolerance policy on samples... What ice cream shop doesn't have any samples?? After also looking at the reviews dates I feel a lot of the positive reviews were before the ownership change. I could be wrong about the ownership stuff but either way the price and quality to staff friendliness is not worth the stop.

Google
A nice sweet treat after a long day of kayaking or hiking in Lake Tahoe. We tried black cherry and brownie sundae with cookie dough. There is an outside patio to sit and enjoy your sweet treats. The staff are very friendly and nice. There is a small parking on site.

Google
Out of all the ice cream places in Tahoe, this one serves real, BEST, creamy dairy ice cream — not the mostly water-based kind. When you eat it, you can tell it’s made with real milk. At least, it reminds me of how ice cream used to taste back in the day. We liked it so much, we came back the very next day. I highly recommend this place — we really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely be coming back every time we visit North Tahoe.

Google
Really great choices, an adorable seating area and great service! Not to mention great ice cream choices! I would recommend the peanut butter Oreo gelato and cookie dough chocolate chip ice cream!!

Google
We were looking for an ice cream shop after a beach day and most places didn’t really have high reviews, including this one. However, we gave it a try and we loved it! The vanilla bean was legit, no artificial flavors. I killed the whole affogato!

Yelp
Been coming here for years and love this place. Even though we did not get ice cream, we did not want to drop a one star for a correctable mistake. Checked Yelp before heading to this location on a Friday night. Closing time was listed at 10pm on both Yelp and the website. We arrived at about 8:55 pm and began to look at the menu outside. Shortly after, we were notified by the employee, mid 20s guy with a Mohawk, the store had just closed. We were confused due to the closing time on Yelp and the official website. We asked what time they closed. The worker said 9pm when it was 8:58. Worker went on to say they are open till 10pm on weekends. The website says 11am-10pm Monday -Sunday. I hate walking in at closing time and this could have been avoided by updating hours on Yelp or the website. I understand the pre-cleaning and how this is probably a seasonal job, but the business should either update their hours or pay the employee time after closing to clean and pack up for the night.

Yelp
It was a perfect ending to our lake day at Kingsbeach with family. Log cabin ice cream offered more variety than the ice cream spot just down the street. The line was very long, and three younger gentlemen were friendly and funny. They made their way to us, and we learned they were roommates and poked fun at each other. I very much enjoyed their smores affogato and stole a few bites of my daughter's ice cream Sundae. My little guy didn't make it to his cone before he tapped out. We enjoyed their cute patio and their fun menu before the rain came. It was still a great time here, and we look forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Kept passing by this gelato place to and from our Airbnb, we decided to end our beach day with a walk to here! Shoutout to the only employee working the shop with a long line out the door, bless his soul; super kind and patient, service was amazing. I ordered the strannocciola gelato, very creamy and not too sweet which i love. The main building with the sign out front was not the place of service, but a sign said "Ice cream around back," which led to a very cute and quaint spot with a good amount of chairs and tables. Otherwise, very satisfying dessert i would say

Yelp
As a connoisseur of the finer things in life, I can say that Log Cabin Ice Cream in Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe, is the alpha destination for ice cream aficionados. Picture this: me, Mikey Machismo, a paragon of masculinity, lounging in my custom-tailored blazer, sunglasses on, basking in the admiring glances of onlookers as I indulge in a decadent scoop of perfection. Rolling up in my sleek blazer and sunglasses, I made my grand entrance, turning heads and commanding attention. The staff? They were practically tripping over themselves to serve me, knowing they were in the presence of greatness. The place itself? Pure class. It's got that modern, rustic vibe that screams sophistication. Now, onto the main event: the ice cream. I went straight for the 'Cookies and Cream,' and it was a game-changer. Every bite was like a power move for my taste buds. The cookies were perfectly crunchy, the cream was smooth as silk, and together, they created a flavor explosion that was nothing short of legendary. And let's not forget the presentation. My cone was a work of art, just like my jawline after months of dedicated mewing. Every lick was a reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest, with style and swagger. So, listen up, bros--if you want to level up your ice cream game, Log Cabin Ice Cream in Kings Beach is the place to be. If a high-caliber alpha like me is raving about it, you know it's legit. Stay frosty, keep mewing, and stay alpha, Mikey Machismo

Yelp
I've driven past this place dozens of times going through King's Beach, and as a big ice cream fan I've always wanted to try the place that boasts "best ice cream." We stopped by on our way back home, and I'm glad we did! Parking can be a bit tricky as it shared with multiple places, and the ice cream parlor is back behind the cabin away from the road. They have lots of flavors of ice cream as well as tons of sundae options like s'mores. This time I just opted for a single scoop of cotton candy, which as you can see is massive! You certainly get your moneys worth. The ice cream itself was very rich and creamy and the flavor brought me back to Thrifty's ice cream--in a good way. I absolutely want to come back and try a sundae sometime. This will be my new go to for ice cream in King's Beach.

Yelp
Good Ice Cream! Huge choice of ice cream or gelato. There was a line but it was not that long of a wait. They have outdoor seating with covered umbrellas. I ordered the Strawberry gelato and it was so good! It did not melt quickly at all. My daughter ordered a Vanilla Icream cone on sugar cone and loved it! My other daughter ordered orange sherbet and was happy! Prices were average and tables were clean outside. We look forward to visiting again!

Yelp
This place has a nice shaded patio to sit on in the evenings. It's a walk up dog friendly place. Service was prompt and friendly. I wanted to mix a scoop of gelato and a scoop of ice cream. That's not allowed. We were interested in the smoothies (9.55) but the kids opted for ice cream (double scoops in waffle cone were about 9.50 each plus 1.50 for waffle cone each). Spent 24$ for ice cream for two kids which normally would be no way. Ice cream was good but nothing super unique. They didn't have a few of the flavors they listed on the menu on the street which was disappointing. We will opt for sharing next time or a smoothie or another place.

Yelp
The line is huge but it is so worth it! I visited this place after someone recommended it, they told me that this was the best ice cream they have ever had, and I agree with that. First of all, the choices of flavors and types of ice cream are very very large. Secondly, they also sell gelato. Thirdly, it is a family business so buying from them supports the local small businesses. The photo does not do the icecream justice.

Eric D.

Yelp
Great gelato! We had the Honey Lavender scoops in a small bowl. A little pricey 6.95 for a small, but very creamy. And a lot of choices for unique flavors. Why not 5 stars? A bit highly priced. The service was a great!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
One scoop in a cup they give you about half the amount of ice cream as one scoop in a cone. Also, unfriendly staff, no samples policy, bland ice cream, expensive ($7.53 single), long wait times, and you have to manually enter your credit card data.
google avatar

Abbi E.

Yelp
Log Cabin Ice Cream is the best! So many options for a cold treat- specialty sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream, and gelato. I ordered the chocolate and raspberry gelato and it was amazing. Staff was so friendly and the courtyard seating is perfect for families and sitting in the shade. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Simply delicious and generously portioned ice cream. Our singles were so large you'd mistake them for a double anywhere else. We tried gelato, sorbet and ice cream. Everyone enjoyed their choice and would definitely go back again...
google avatar

Fernando D.

Yelp
Cute place that's tucked away at the entrance of the village. They allowed my dogs in the patio which was a huge plus... The ice cream was really good, we tried a few different flavors and I got a Sunday which is a good size.. would recommend if your in the area..

Yelp
We rented a house in Kings Beach for the week of the 4th of July. It was a short walk to this spot and went twice. It was great. I want to acknowledge that I read the other reviews and if some of the exchanges with the owner depicted there are accurate then I would have ripped this place as well. That being said, all I can do it review based on my experiences. The ice cream is great. I recommend getting any of the flavors made by local Tahoe Creamery. The place gets very busy, but both times we went the staff was crushing it. Getting out orders with a quickness despite often unorganized patrons. The two different women who waited on us handled large orders accurately and quickly. The place is small, but has a good sized patio. No place to sit inside - barely enough space to order and pick up - but who wants to be inside in Lake Tahoe anyway. We will be going back... maybe tomorrow!

Dylan B.

Yelp
If I could give a zero, I would. Appeared that a moldy/dirty towel in an ice cream buckets when we entered and the staff member taking our orders were extremely rude and disrespectful. Over priced ice cream and horrible staff. First time I've ever felt like I needed to leave a review because of how terrible it was. Came with a group of 11 to get ice cream and only 2 people got anything. The rest left due to reasons above.

Raimonds O.

Yelp
Well, not really impressive. First, it's an ice cream place. But - they manage to sell ice cream and gelato, which means the same ice cream, just in Italian . For some portions (8$) scoops were small, for others at the same price - large. At the end - it was very expensive. Paid for four portions around 35$. Quality ok, but nothing special. Service inexperienced and not very friendly. Outside pation was nice though.

Yelp
I was reluctant because of the 3.5 star average. Not sure what those lower reviews are upset about. Huge portions--especially compared to the ice cream joint a few hundred feet to the west. Yes, it takes a while to get through the line, but the kids behind the counter are working their butts off! And there's no room to add more employees. The reality is the place is serving as many customers as is possible for such a small joint. The ice cream flavors I had were probably 8 out of 10, but I'm kind of an ice cream snob. I made the mistake of getting a double when a single would have been *plenty*.

Caroline C.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to Log Cabin Ice Cream with high hopes, but all I got was frustration. We waited in line for 20 minutes, eagerly anticipating some late-night ice cream. When we finally got to the front at 9:50 PM, they had the audacity to tell us they weren't serving anymore because it was "too late." Are you kidding me? The store was supposed to close at 10:00 PM, and they couldn't be bothered to serve the customers already waiting? I'm all for enforcing rules, but this was just rude and unreasonable. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that values their customers. Total waste of time! The two workers were also very ugly. yk who you are:)))) xx btw my friends and I are in the area for 3 more days, so I would really appreciate free ice cream the rest of our stay! Thanks!

Yelp
Very generous scoops of ice cream. I ordered two smalls for my children, which were $6 each. We were very impressed watching the ice cream scooper aggressively scraping the ice cream out to give a heaping scoop to my son. We also ordered gelato, which tasted very fresh. The ice cream flavors are listed on the wall, but the gelato flavors are not. It would helpful if the gelato flavors were posted, because there were people hovering by the gelato waiting for their shakes and other fancy concoctions, so it caused a little bit of confusion to step out of line to peak into the gelato case at the end. This location is very popular in the evenings, especially since it is opened much later (10pm!) than the competition. Lots of seating, however due to its popularity all of the seats quickly filled up. I also like the very convenient parking next door.

Yelp
The ice cream is always a hit on a perfect summer day. The best ice cream texture around Tahoe
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
This place is so neat and in a perfect location. Driving around Tahoe I saw this from the street and it immediately caught my eye. We walked here after a big dinner and between all of us, we probably had every flavor. No one complained and everyone loved what they got. I highly recommend taking advantage of the outdoor seating, it's just so beautiful. The servings here are huge and I wasn't even close to finishing my two scoops. And by the way, one scoop isn't actually "one scoop"- it's much more. Yes, the ice cream is a little more expensive than most places but it's so dang good and of course hits the spot after a day on the lake.

Yelp
Ice cream and gelato spot with outdoor dining area. It's located behind a building (you'll notice the line up people along the ramp if you're there after dinner). Street parking is available and there was a small lot with limited parking. Credit cards are accepted. There are two mixed-use bathrooms available (and they have a rosemary mint soap!). There were only two employees working so the line did move a bit slowly, but to their credit, they were still friendly and were doing their best. We got a one scoop hot fudge sundae that came whipped cream, chopped peanuts, and a cherry. We opted for strawberry ice cream, which was icy. However, they gave us a generous portion of hot fudge, which made me happy. The outdoor area is cute and there are tables available for big groups. They also have smoothies, gelato, and milkshakes available. Overall, it's a homey spot to grab dessert.

Christopher B.

Yelp
Literally no gluten free options. They served a family ahead of us in line a flavor, saying it was gluten free. When I asked for clarification on which flavors were gluten free, they said nothing was. Caused a bit of a stir for that previous family. Too bad. They should have gluten free stuff. It's not hard to do.

John S.

Yelp
Horrible service!! One man had a french accent and was extremely rude while our group was looking at the different flavors. The conditions were extremely unsanitary with no gloves being used and clearly dirty towels being used to wipe off ice cream tubs that were being served to customers. It was disgusting and gross. We left and decided not to order.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Great ice cream and atmosphere! There was a little bit of a wait but I think it's worth it! Their portions are huge. Their "1 scoop" is more like 3 scoops so keep that in mind when ordering!

Alexa C.

Yelp
Says it closes at 10 pm but if you show up at 9:50 they say you are "too late" while they are still serving some people?? Horrible customer service to loyal customers.

Amrit S.

Yelp
Nice local gem! Ice cream was delicious and they even have espresso. Service was great and attentive. The ambiance was nice and cozy, great place for a treat after a day on the beach. The girl helping us was very sweet and extremely kind, thank you all! Your wonderful.

Will M.

Yelp
They claim they are voted best ice cream in the area but only 3 of their flavors are locally made. In addition it took an hour to serve the 20 people that were ahead of us in line. Maybe if there were more than two overworked teenagers serving then there wouldn't be an issue. Not worth the wait at all. Ice cream wasn't bad but then again neither is Ben and Jerry's.
google avatar

Kelvin Y.

Yelp
Had the strawberry ice-cream on a waffle cone and it was ok. They were very generous with their scoop. The place is very charming!
google avatar

Juliette L.

Yelp
Got a scoop of moose tracks in a cup, the spoons were too flimsy to make a dent in the ice cream, the moose tracks was mostly vanilla, and for $6 I would've hoped for more.

Jane S.

Yelp
This little out-of-the-way ice cream shop is totally worth the stop! Recently taken over, the new shop owner waits on everyone personally. We ordered milkshakes and the shopkeeper made our orders personally and individually and our shakes were delicious! I encourage everyone who is interested in supporting a small businesses with a friendly and grateful small business owner to stop at Log Cabin Ice Cream and enjoy the experience and an ice cream treat!
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
YUM!! Friendly, fun staff that was so patient with us while we took it all in and figured out what we wanted! We went to restaurants all over town and saved dessert so we could come back here a second time. Was amazing both times even though there was a long line, totally worth the wait!!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Had the moose tracks and the pecan praline. The moose tracks was fine. Standard moose tracks, nothing to write home about. The pecan praline was great. Note: this place does not offer samples.

Andrew P.

Yelp
Great serving sizes, "softball" size scoops!! Very nice staff that helped describe our options. For for sure the best ice cream in town.
google avatar

Caitlin P.

Yelp
There's Ice cream and gelato here! The Gelato menu isn't up on the wall but on the left hand side where the freezer of gelato is. I highly recommend getting the gelato, it's has a smooth texture and flavors are tasty!
google avatar

Erika H.

Yelp
Very good and big portions for a scoop. The brownie points is soooo good its a must and the vanilla is just perfect

Katy L.

Yelp
Location is the best part. Ice cream is standard but the outdoor area is nice and good option after a beach day.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
This was the only ice cream place open late on a Thursday night. There was a long line but oh wow--so worth the wait. The scoops are very generous and the crust cream was super creamy and amazing. Customer service was spot on too. Would definitely come here again.

J K.

Yelp
Such a slow line for subpar ice cream. People working there are nice and doing their best. But the line barely moves and the ice cream had a gritty texture. Moose tracks was mainly vanilla, which was annoying. Overpriced also. Cute outdoor area though.

Jade G.

Yelp
Idk why this ice cream spot isn't rated higher. The ice cream was creamy, flavorful and delicious. The girls working we're friendly and polite. Especially considering the line was into the parking lot 40 mins before close. They were hustling. Great spot to get ice cream!

Anj C.

Yelp
Beautiful place and vibe. Quite good collection of ice creams and sundaes. You might have some wait time, but worth it.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
Took my chance since yelp says this place closes at 9pm. Turns out, they close at 10! The workers are super nice and sweet. They offer basic ice cream flavors and some gelato as well! They have banana splits and other goodies. Some signature unique items they have are the nutcracker sweet, honey's peanut butter cup, emerald bay split, and the lavender sundae.
google avatar

Alyssa J.

Yelp
Perfect ice cream stop after playing at the lake! The serving sizes were very generous and well priced too!
google avatar

Sammy H.

Yelp
While the ice cream was delicious!! (Highly recommend the Maui Waui Sorbet.) The service is very very slow. The line was building up out the gate. At least the staff was friendly.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Closed for the season, but still 5 stars cuz they have the best ice cream when they're open lol
google avatar

Irving T.

Yelp
Really great ice cream and super cute atmosphere. You can enjoy ice cream lakeside under a canopy of trees. Really kind people and I highly recommend!
google avatar

Ana Z.

Yelp
Let me start with I was not actually a customer. I mean...I wanted to be, their sign said that they were open, Yelp confirmed their business hours...we followed the janky arrows around the back but instead of an open business we found a boarded up window. What made this situation more hilarious was the motion sensor sprinkler. My husband walked up to see if there was a sign and he got nailed. Hilarious for me, not so much for him. They probably have perfectly fine ice cream, but delighting customers to getting sprayed for following directions isn't a great way to retain a customer base. If you're thinking of giving this place a try follow some advice...DUCK!

Yelp
After spending hours lounging around Kings Beach for the day we were craving ice cream before dinner. Hubby went on Yelp and found this place. First time at Log Cabin Ice Cream and we were impressed with the selection, location, and staff. It was busy but we had no problem waiting and looking over the menu. The gals working the counter were all friendly and got the orders going as fast as they could seeing there was a decent line of customers. This place is super cute in that it literally looks like a mini log cabin. Lots of seating outside and plenty of shade so you can enjoy your treat a bit longer under the warm sun. There are tons to choose from in terms of ice cream, gelato, and milkshakes. Hubby and niece got vanilla & chocolate, little one got mint chocolate chip, and I got the strawberry cheesecake....all really yummy and creamy. Will definitely come back again.

Angela T.

Yelp
The icecream is good but some of the girls working behind the counter have a nasty attitude and ruined it for me.
