The hotel is in a great position with free parking .However, the rooms are very small with no wardrobe ,drawers or shelves .there was nowhere to put anything except a small rail that hung over the bedside light .The bathroom was okay but the hairdryer had been removed and disconnected and the hotel would not lend me one and were quite rude about it. Not a problem for us but there are a lot of stairs. The whole place smelt from the BBQ which was quite unpleasant .All a bit tired and scruffy.

Fantastic place! We booked a room with balcony & a terrace facing the Somme. The room was lovely, with large comfortable bed & tea/coffee making facilities. Lovely bathroom with shower as well. We also ate in the hotel restaurant & I can understand why it gets booked out! The food was delicious & the staff very friendly & welcoming despite my terrible French! Breakfast was also fabulous and there was a wide choice of items with fresh baguettes, pastries & nice strong coffee. We had a brilliant stay & would definitely recommend this hotel & it’s restaurant. Thank you to the lovely husband & wife team who made us so welcome, along with their staff. I send my regrets to the owner that Les Bleus are not in the World Cup final but he can always support the All Blacks! 😊

Stopped over night on our way south, as the hotel allows dogs. We had Apartment 1, which is separate from the main hotel but just a two minute walk. Perfect for us, as it was ground floor level, easy to take the dogs out. We booked to eat in the restaurant as they allowed our dogs to sit under the table with us. The food was excellent and the service really good. Breakfast was also excellent. The apartment was great, 3 beds and a cot, upstairs.p, shower room. Downstairs was a sitting area and a good kitchen, if you want to self-cater.||All in all an excellent stay, we will be back.

Stopped here for drinks a few times, very nice, also had a nice lunch here. Went for dinner in the evening unfortunately not so good. Had the 48 euro set menu , the starter was awful - a small overcooked scallop , with a sauce that was not good !. Sole main course was OK, service was slow due to lack of staff (asked for bottle of water 3 times). We ate in the "conservatory" area which was too hot, and a few flies, would recommend eating in the main restaurant.

We had a lovely stay, in this very traditional hotel. The room was comfy. We picked a water view. Very comfortable bed, and bathroom, freshly remodeled. It was very quiet and perfect for a night. We had dinner in the evening and enjoyed the first menu at 25€, and a nice breakfast in the morning. We would not hesitate to stay again.

My wife and I stayed here in mid-September. The hotel location couldn't be much better. If you're staying here, you probably came to see the Baie de Somme, and it's literally right out the front door. Rooms on the front of the hotel have views of the bay. It's an easy and pleasant walk to the main tourist part of Saint Valery. The hotel is also very easy to get to by car, and has free on-site parking in their own gravel lot. The hotel is in an interesting old brick building, and is air-conditioned (not that we needed that in September).||That said, there are a few cautions. Probably the most important is that the hotel has no elevator. From the parking lot, you have to drag your bags up one floor just to get to the reception desk, and that floor it taken up by reception, the restaurant, and bar, so you end up dragging those bags up a MINIMUM of two floors, and probably more. This alone may well limit the desirability of this hotel to older travelers, or those with limited mobility. I can't comment on other rooms, which are probably different, but the one we stayed in was quite small and cramped, even by European hotel standards. In the bathroom, the placement & construction of the shower made it impossible to take a shower without covering the entire floor with water. While none of this would keep us from staying here again, others may have different tolerances.

The rooms in the hotel are pleasant and newly refurbished but otherwise the place seems quite shabby. Pot holes in the car park, rickety staircases, moss all over the dining room transparent roof, mediocre service, a very small bar area and reasonable food. The hotel is in a lovely location, on the promenade and close to the old town, but it could do with updating!
