Google
It seems like a popular watering hole for the locals. I love that about this restaurant as it is not touristy at all. It gets super busy about 6/7 pm during the weekend and it is normal to share your table with other diners. The food is extremely quick and diners don’t expect to sit, chat, and take up the table for too long. Eat, pay, and go. Three drinks, an appertizer, two mains, two desserts was £36. The portion was not huge but tasty. Good experience! The service was friendly and helpful.

Great place, feels like mostly for the locals (which is a good thing). Food is great, service is even better, beer is beer. Highly reccomend a visit when tou are nearby. It’s even worth a tram ride.

We ate at this Lokal twice over the holidays. Both times without a reservation, although reservations are probably a good idea. The menu changes often but always has the Czech classics. We were all happy with our dishes. The lentil/sausage dish was particularly good for New Year’s Day brunch. Beer is great and prices feel fair. This place is always busy with people gathered outside drinking beer. I will be back.

Best Pilsner in Prague, hands down. Always busy and full of locals — definitely not a tourist trap. Staff speak English, and service is fast and efficient; your beer arrives within a minute. You can even take your beer across the road into the park like the locals do. Food selection is not huge, but it is tasty and pairs perfectly with the beer. You can also catch football, ice hockey, or whatever match is on. The place is lively, often loud, and great for groups. For more than two people, a reservation is highly recommended.

Delicious food, nice servers. We walked in around 14:45 to have a late lunch and were told we could have a table for a little more than 1 hour and it was reserved after that. But shortly after we were seated, a server told us that the party that reserved the table had arrived and asked if we were okay sharing the table. We said it was fine, we would have obviously rather not shared the table but didn't want to make the server's life difficult. The party came to the table, talked amongst themselves for a few minutes and then got the server and were seated at a different table. We thought it was odd that they agreed to seat them in the first place when they were an hour early for their reservation. If the table had been empty, then fine. But we had been seated there, so they should have been told they'd need to wait for their reservation time.

Google
Lokál is exactly what it intends to be. Comfortable, convenient, and delicious. Sure, you can find better places for traditional food at cheaper prices but it seems they could have off days that Lokál never has. This location got really busy during Thursday dinner.

Google
Great place, classic czech cousine for affordable prices and nice location right next to small park. I came here with a kid ready to take the food out since I was not expecting them to have baby chairs. Not only did they have baby chair, they also had kids menu. They placed us to the back saloon area of the restaurant, where we found other children as well. Very surprised and therefore highly recommend not only for adult tourists but also for the families with small small children.

I was here a year ago and I came back here again. Both times my experience was great - I ate tripe soup both times (I fully recommend it), last year I ordered fried cheese, this year fried carp, braised sausage in dark beer, and smoked eel. Everything was very tasty, the service was very good. And of course, grat Pilsner from a tank.

Yelp
Great local bar with great food. Pancake with beef and sauerkraut was fantastic. Great chicken schnitzel.

Yelp
We stopped here during a local food tour. I had the pickled cheese, lemonade, fried cheese, potatoes, and coleslaw. My favorite was the fried cheese because who doesn't love cheese?

Yelp
We walked into Lokál to try and have dinner last night, but the place was jammed packed with drinkers. The poor bartender couldn't pour beers fast enough. When I finally got his attention for a table for two, he says "I don't think we have any". In the words of the great detective Ace Ventura "Alrighty then!" I got the attention of a waitress and asked if they had takeaway. She said yes and we ordered. Now we wait. I was ready for a long wait. Much to my surprise in about 10 minutes we got our order and we were happy people. The schnitzel was really good and my wife loved her fried cheese. The potatoes very plain, but I was very satisfied by the meal.

Yelp
Local pub, service is quick. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is definitely cheery, lots of cheery laughter. My wife and I split three plates, sausages, chicken and rice with mushrooms, a delectable schnitzel-like chicken and a mug of dark beer which was nutty and fantastic. Was recommended by a local that lived in the area, they were spot on!

Yelp
We had trouble locating this place as the maps location was wrong (and I sent a correction so others wouldn't have this problem). We ordered Pilsner Urquell in the half liter size - delicious- both pale and dark- - but they also had tall glasses with only beer foam. Not sure why you'd want that. We ordered tripe soup recommended by the waitress who spoke good English and it was very good. I had the fried cheese with boiled potatoes covered in butter. They serve this with homemade tartar sauce -- yum! And good rye bread. Very satisfying. Our tour guide suggested this place as a local pub. Try it!

Yelp
Service here is amazing. The ladies took care of us. We enjoyed the food. Had the appetizer of 3 different sausage with mustard and whipped Sauer kraut. Yummy! For our mainmeal we had Pork belly with kraut, beer gravy and potato dumplings. Delicious. The atmosphere is loud and boisterous, as a pub should be. Regardless of the crowd, they found us a table (hall style, you share with others) and the fun ensued. Highly recommend for some Lokal fun.

Yelp
We stopped here as part of a walking food tour with Urban Adventures. The guide told us this place generally caters to locals, and wasn't necessarily a place tourists frequented. He chose a selection of traditional Czech dishes and we can got a small taste of beer to boot. This was probably my least favorite of the five places we landed on our tour, but it was definitely good exposure to local fare. Check out my pics for a description of what we had. It was a nice spread. On my own, not sure I'd go again, but that's mostly because I'm partial to Asian cuisine more than anything else. Otherwise, if you're looking for more traditional Czech dishes, this is most definitely the spot for you!

Yelp
Amazing late night food. Very traditional Czech food. I got the rose and the Italian sausage! I recommend getting 2 orders of the sausage if you're really hungry. There restaurant itself is loud and rowdie but that makes for a fun dinner! I highly recommend it!

Yelp
This is definitely a great place for all beer lovers and especially guys. Since I do not drink beer and prefer more cosy restaurants, Lokal Hamburk is not my cup of tea. The service is good and so are the prices but for me, this place is just average. I do, however, understand why so many guys love it. For men-only nights, this is just the right place :)

Yelp
This was a great spot to try local favorites. Our group met up with a local and this was where he took us for a traditional Czech dinner. He did a lot of the ordering- a lot of which was very local and traditional food. The sausages and beef tartar stood out as well as the cheap beers!

Yelp
Ate here on our 2nd day exploring city. Found the location convenient. Their food was ok and good beer. Recommended to us by several locals.

Yelp
One of the six Lokals in town, this one has the benefit of being further out from the center than most of the others, and so mainly has locals and is not as slammed as the ones on Dlouha and in Mala Strana often are. Yet, despite this, the staff here seems to feel even MORE hassled than the people in those other locations. Maybe because of the lack of tourists, they feel they can slip back to their old ways, or maybe the locals want that "please-get-the-hell-out" vibe from their servers. I dunno, but this was the least pleasant experience I have had at a Lokal, hence the rating. The beer and food, however, was just as good as at other places.

Yelp
Simple and pleasant interior and nice service. Beef broth soup ... well okay. Svickova was superb! Karlin needed this!

Yelp
What a great traditional Czech Pub! Amazing service, beer and food as well! All this in a nice retro interior for prices below the average of Prague and progressive "city life" area around. Recommended!

Yelp
In my opinion, this is the best branch. It's not as crowded and service is much better than the one on Dlouha by a landslide. Loved their pork shoulder and roasted cabbage and of course, you can't forget to grab a large Pilsner Urquell.
