Had a lovely experience a month ago staying at Lollis Homestay in Dresden. The staff was very welcoming and warm. The decor in the rooms were more like a conventional hostel rather than the commonly found commercial ones. Washrooms were clean.

I didn't know what to expect (my trip was a last-minute decision, so I didn't really do any research), but I was so pleasantly surprised! The place itself looks really cool, kinda punky and alternative but also cozy and home-like. The staff, volunteers and other guests were also super lovely. I thought it was just going to be a place to sleep, but I ended up having a great time playing board games and charades with a bunch of people I've never met! If I ever come back to Dresden I know where to stay. :) Thanks!

It's a very nice hostel with an eclectic and original vibe. The staff was helpful and it was easy to connect with other travelers. It's a bit further away from the old town, but the tram station is nearby. I stayed in the girls dorm, the beds had curtains for privacy a power outlet and a light.

I will highly recommend to stay in this hostel. The hostel have volunteers who organizes multiple activities which are worth your time. And 2 days a week there is free dinner. Loved my stay here!!

A hippy place to stay that fits in perfectly with the local artsy neighborhood. There was free coffee and hot tea and not having to arrange for everyone to be in one bedroom was appreciated. The room was dimly lit which was good for sleeping!

I loved this hostel! Decor was super cool; I felt the details were really thought out - rooms set away from bathrooms, a group telegram chat, that kind of thing. also, they organized tours, dinners, etc. I didn't stay long enough to attend, but it made it really have the hang out hostel vibe (but not noisy!). I didn't have the breakfast; it looked fine but, esp the jams and such, but not super exciting to me. I'd advise bring your own lock for the lockers - they have some to rent but not enough for everyone who forgets :P

I had a good stay at Lollis and they were super friendly here. I loved the homey feeling of the living room and kitchen. It was great that I could just store my bike in the garden. It was however very loud to sleep above the street, and closing the windows was no option as the room was really smelly with 8 people sleeping there. It would be nice to have trash cans in the room. I was also disappointed that after me and my friend both were told the dinner would be vegan, we found out it was actually really not. It's fine, but just don't say it is when it's really not! ;) Luckily the hostel is in a really nice neighborhood with loads of places to find some vegan food.

Confused by high ratings. Only place in all my travels where they hand you the linen to put on the bed yourself... Lacks service and website is severely outdated to what they say the offer and provide. And on the expensive side and staff aren't very helpful. Also, place wreaks of weed. The rooms, hallways, and bathrooms all stink of it. Maybe try elsewhere in Dresden.

Yelp
I stayed at several hostels during my European backpacking trip this year and hands down Lollis was one of the best places I stayed at. Sure, I was kind of biased on picking this particular hostel, due to it's name striking an eerily resemblance to my bff's nick name, but it's price, location, clean facilities, cool staff, interesting decor, and yes, tasty breakfast, sealed the deal for five stars. I also liked the fact that the tour guide that stops there is a really funny and awesome local that knows not only all the good eateries and bars but an encyclopedia worth of history of the area and pretty much about the country. Kudos to you kind sir! But back to the hostel, they have laptops you can use if you left yours at home and wi-fi is best in the common areas. This isn't a party hostel, which is fine by me. I'm sure you'll still meet super friendly travelers who wouldn't mind hitting up one of the many dive bars in the Neustadt area. Lastly, did you see that earlier? I wrote bff. BFF. It's ok, you can still trust my review.

Yelp
This hostel was everything I was hoping it would be! My friend and I found it easily using our GPS. We were greeted by a very friendly bilingual desk attendant (my friend that I was traveling with is fluent in both English and German but my German is very lacking!) who answered every question we had. We were in a 6-person room, but there only turned out to be three of us staying there. For 4 extra Euros we were able to add Fruhstuck (breakfast!), and it was a lovely spread, especially for the money it cost. On the first floor of the hostel were two common rooms where people could socialize and make coffee and tea. It was also well-stocked with board games. Other bonuses: wifi included, a great crowd of fellow guests (hopefully that's always true!), and did I mention the Fruhstuck? Con: there is no free parking to be had in Dresden; this isn't the hostel's fault.

Yelp
I reserved two double rooms on Oct 3 and 4. In short, I would rate it good. It is almost as good as it says on its won web site. Here are the cons and pros of my view point. 1. Free booklet of many Europen country cheap hostel information. There is even booklet of Chile. 2. Both receiption staffs were kind and helpful and also have good English command. 3. There was a new receiption lady, who was also kind and hardworking, but her mathematics was not good or she was too nervous to make apparent mistakes on account. 4. One of my double room had only one king size bed, which was on a shelf and the distance between the bed surface to the ceiling was only about 80 cm. One could barely sit on the bad. 5. I reserved the rooms two weeks before my check-in date. At that time the hostel offered free dinner on Monday. While when I came on Oct 3, Monday, the receiption gentelmen told me that the policy changed just several days ago, free dinner was no longer provided instead each guest could bring their own materila or dishes and share in the private room of this hostel. It was like potoluck. It is Germany Unity Day on Oct 3; is not that very disappointing to us?

Yelp
When you entered the lobby there was a very strong unpleasant smell. After some discussion we were allowed to go view the room. Despite the odor in the lobby rooms were very fresh smelling and clean. Bathroom facilities were very clean. There were no disrupting noises in the night. You can pay with a credit card but there are extra fees so I would recommend cash
