"Cappuccino at Cortázar's favorite café Buenos Aires is filled with historic bars and cafés, but London City, recently reopened after significant restorations, is worth seeking out for two reasons: its literary pedigree and its fantastic location. The café was the particular favorite of one of Argentina's great writers, Julio Cortázar, who wrote his novel Los premios (1960) while seated here. Today, the outward-facing sidewalk tables on Avenida de Mayo are a perfect place to stop for coffee (or a glass of wine) and watch the world go by."

Came here for breakfast and there was no wait. I got 2 medialunas with ham and cheese and a Spanish hot chocolate. My bf got the American breakfast. I loved the medialunas. They were lightly sweetened and so savory with the cheese and ham. The hot chocolate was quite thick and so chocolatey. My only complaint was I had to pick out a small hair from my food. I tried the cake that came with my bf’s breakfast. It was chocolate and very light. Would have preferred a richer chocolate taste.

It was recommended by the hotel. I just wanted to have a coffee there, but had a sandwich at the end. The food was ok, not one of the best in Buenos Aires. Also the staff was friendly.

Such a beautiful cafe. We enjoyed spending time here over coffee and breakfast. The atmosphere is just gorgeous, a step back in time. The food and drinks were delicious. The juices were freshly squeezed and the food was so flavourful. Service was friendly and prompt. One of my favourites in Buenos Aires.

It was not a pleasant experience for a lite breakfast. The food was awful, especially the orange juice, has gone bad.

London City Confiteria in Buenos Aires is a great place to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. The atmosphere is really cozy and there is a selection of cakes, sandwiches and pastries to choose from. The tea was really fresh, and was also available in a variety of flavors. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great spot to unwind and enjoy a delicious afternoon snack. Highly recommended!

The food & coffee was pretty average but pricy! The vibe & the place was nice! The avocado toast that I ordered was cold (the egg) and the Avocado taste old & bad! I felt it was made and waited for a while to be served to someone, nit fresh at all! The English breakfast we ordered was poor! A tiny slice of bacon and one sausage and a cold scrambled egg! The only delicious piece was the cake!

The pita was dry and fell apart, so very messy eating

London City is one of the household names in the Buenos Aires traditional Coffee houses yet the history and atmosphere can't overcome a lack of quality, surge in prices and gruesome mistakes with the menu: although the breakfast tea has an according price, the food it's for 2 and the drinks it's for one ( 1 coffee, 1 orange Juice). This forces customers to buy additional coffees at $4750 a cup ( USD$5 give or take) wich it's on the expensive side and a shady business practice. The menu doesn't lie, it says "coffee" just not how many. General experience is good and I would recommend for a quick breakfast or Afternoon tea
