We recently had a stopover of a few hours at this airport. Well organized, very well signposted (signs for train, taxi, terminals, etc.), connected by trains to London directly from the terminal, many options for dining (outside the airport after a short walk there are even more options). A pleasant experience, the only minus would be the rather long time from security check in and some dirt in the toilets and the old furniture.

Google
Gatwick indeed exceeded my expectations as the 2nd busiest airport in the UK after Heathrow. It was my first time being there months ago, transport connection from/ towards London is good with main rail line nearby. Selection of shops inside the airport is quite a lot with food court and duty-free shops included. It is a very lively airport.

Google
Gatwick Airport offers a smooth experience! While it's a bit further out than Heathrow, I really appreciate how much faster the whole process feels, from check-in to security. The fast train connection lives up making the journey to and from central London quick despite the distance. A great alternative for a less stressful airport experience!

Google
Very modern Airport with all the facilities. There are many restaurants and shops for all your needs. Already clean and tidy and you can arrive with the direct train from Clapham junction in 35 minutes.

Google
Gatwick is a convenient airport with great connections to Central London. Trains run directly to Victoria Station, London Bridge, and Blackfriars, making access easy and fast. The airport is busy but efficient. Be sure to check which terminal you’re flying from, as North and South are connected by a free shuttle. Planning ahead makes all the difference.

Google
5-Star Review – London Gatwick Airport (LGW) Gatwick blew my mind—this airport is next-level modern. From the moment you walk in, everything feels slick, fast, and futuristic. Tons of digital screens, self-check-in kiosks everywhere, fast bag drops—it’s all super efficient and gives major next-gen vibes. But the real star? The insane variety of stuff to do, see, and eat. You’ve got everything from high-end designer shops to quirky UK brands, lounges that feel like luxury hotels, and more food options than you can imagine—like actual restaurants, not just snacks. Sushi, burgers, vegan, fancy cocktails, even a champagne bar—it’s all there. And somehow, despite being so busy, the place feels super clean, well-lit, and chill. The North and South Terminals both have their own personality, and moving between them is quick and easy. Gatwick isn’t just an airport, it’s an experience. It’s got energy, innovation, comfort, and a touch of chaos—in the best way possible. Legit a 5-star airport.

Very enjoyable City! The Tube was easy to use between locations! Warwick was a quiet and laid back city. Local shops with no tourist pressures.

Google
What an airport! Truly huge since there is a train to transport passengers from the North to the South terminal, yet extremely well designed to offer comfort and safety to thousands of travelers every day. Countless waiting areas and shops ready to accommodate every visitor. Also very fast and direct check in or check out! Access from underground station London Victoria

Yelp
4 1/2 starts. Convenient & chic hotel located in the south terminal of the London Gatwick airport. We had a nightmare flight experience with United Airlines with delayed flights and improper rerouting tickets and ended up missing the connecting flight and having to spend a night in London. Thankfully bloc hotel is located inside the airport, which will provide us the much needed rest for being up almost 24 hours to catch the next flight in the morning. The VIP room is a corner room with a full view of the runway. I deduct 1/2 star due to the defective shower door that caused a massive leak onto the bathroom floor and maintenance engineer informed us this happened to be the last room they haven't repaired the issue yet.

Yelp
It's a hotel accessible directly from Gatwick Airport's south terminal. This makes an extra convenient overnight stay for earlybird next day flights. The hotel's signage isn't clear, and there are extra doors which make the lift to the hotel reception less visible. THE RECEPTION IS ON THE 3rd FLOOR next to Security Checkpoint. Front desk assistance is really helpful. After feeling lost then locating them, check in is simple with a booking. Following 2 days of delayed flights, I was able to have a relieving, but extremely short stay on an agency's credit. They have cool and modern, minimalist, space saving concept rooms. Lights and blinds are controlled by an iPad. Half of the room walls appear to be suede padded, even the ceiling. Don't let this make you think you're crazy. Easy checkout is also available on the iPad and the cardkey drop box is at reception. This bloc hotel location makes an ideal choice for an emergency overnighter caused by flight delays.

Yelp
This is the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in but it honestly does the job especially if you're staying overnight in London's Gatwick airport. Pros: + Location at South Terminal of the airport + Easy signage and check in + Recommendation at reception to take Thameslink to visit London Victoria and save some GBP + Super quiet given it's at an airport Cons: - Small ass room - Shower water can seep to the bedroom if using the hand held shower - My mom said it smelled like a homeless person (I didn't smell it though but she said she had a difficult night's sleep)

Yelp
I would definitely recommend staying here. It felt like I was in a futuristic movie. Awesome vibe. I'll definitely be going back

Yelp
Pretty sure this place has a deal going with the airport. There was a fire alarm being "tested" right as we got to the airport for our 6 hour layover. Made the decision to go here straight forward. My suggestion: don't book a hour overnight layover at Gatwick. You CANNOT EVEN GET PAST SECURITY. It's a joke. Get a room here if you must. The bed is comfy. You won't regret the money.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights. Pretty convenient location if you have a day or two layover in Gatwick. Close to train station if heading out of Gatwick. London is about 30 minutes away by one train ride. Rooms are small,, typical in the UK. Shower and toilet is only one room. No divider between shower and toilet. Beds are comfy. Room is controlled by a tablet - lights, AC, blinds. Rooms are quite even though hotel is in the airport. The staff was friendly. Helped us with directions. Lots of food places nearby. A few restaurants and small grocery stores. Lots of money changers and ATM's. I'd recommend this place if your coming in to the UK through Gatwick and staying for a night or two.

Yelp
Convenient for international flights with long layovers. Rooms are beyond cozy but still pretty modern. Don't expect much in terms of amenities; for example there's no lotion or a phone in the room to get a wake up call. The site I booked on started there was 24-hour room service. That was false. There's a cafe right by reception however with a decent selection of sandwiches that you get 10% off on .... 8/10 - Would Recommend

Yelp
Okay so this hotel isn't bad it wasn't great. I chose to stay at the hotel because it was convenient for me to get on my early morning flight. The location is awesome if your traveling and not staying over one night. What I enjoyed was the customer service and the easy check in that is available upon your arrival. My gripe was the room was cold and we were not able to control the temperature. In addition the floors are metal and cold so socks and house shoes are highly suggested. The view in my window was the airport building wall with a rocks on the ground. This room was not comfortable as it gives me a cold feeling. It's only worth a night for convenience only.

Yelp
This hotel is super convenient for anyone having a morning departing flight out of London Gatwick Airport. It's literally steps from the airport departure area. Be aware that the basic rooms are akin to an interior cabin on a cruise ship. In a word, small. And no window. And the entire bathroom becomes the shower (as in toilet sink and everything else gets wet). Although the bed is very large and comfy, the basic room is best suited for a solo traveler, or a very cozy couple. There are tech touches throughout, such as subdued LED lighting, cool use of materials and single source controls for everything from a tablet embedded in the wall next to the bed. If this is the future of quick stay hotels, be prepared.

Yelp
Loved it. Like an upscale prison cell - kidding. Just enough space to be very comfortable. Minimalist. Modern. Efficient. Convenient. Tablet that controls AC and lights. TV. Two bottles of water. Highly recommended esp. for early flights. Check-out is at 11am.

Yelp
The Bloc was a savior at a very essential time. We stayed here after a super late night flight in (2am) and we didn't want to travel into Crawley at that hr. Be warned the Bloc is a bit pricey. Its about $170 U.S. for a nighr last min because of it's proximity to Heathrow. It's bunk stile sleeping and the rooms are minimlastic modern glam. Its a wet room so while there is a bathroom it doesn't have a separate tub and or shower area. The shower essentially wets the whole damn floor including where the toilet is. There is some kind of a drainage system which fails my sanitation check. Personally I was eeekd out the whole night. At its best it exposes you to another way and provide emergency hospitality but that version of water conservation/environmentally friendly just doesn't work for me.

Yelp
Late flight in or early flight out? Either way this hotel is your best option! It's located right inside the airport, so you don't have to worry about getting an Uber or hauling your luggage through traffic. Keep in mind though that these hotel rooms are super small because they're meant to really be one night stays. You have the option to book a room without a window, but for a few more extra dollars you can get a window (which we did). The room was super clean, mattress was comfy, and the overall ambiance of these room was awesome. There was an tablet located above our night stand which controlled the lights, windows, and A/C. The toilet, shower, and sink are literally inches away from each other. However, this is something you get use to especially in Europe. We really enjoyed our stay here. My fiancé even stated that this place gave him the best sleep in Europe! If we ever come back, we're staying here.

Yelp
The new go-to hotel right inside the airport Euro-style micro hotel which has everything you will need for that quick overnight stay before those dreadful early morning flights Clean, compact, efficient and a fair price - what else do you need when the M25 is a parking lot? And anyway, when did you last look out of the window from a hotel room you arrived at in the dark and left before dawn? Try it - you will be pleasantly surprised

Yelp
The key to understanding Bloc is understanding what it is. It's a place to sleep and shower and that's it. The standard room we had was basically a bed, a few square feet of space to stand in, and a small toilet/sink/shower closet. The bathroom actually IS the shower so don't leave anything laying around while taking a shower or it will get drenched. It's really bare bones. Everything in the room (lights, shades, checkout) is controlled by a small touch screen mounted in the wall. But the beauty of it is the convenience. I've never even a seen a hotel INSIDE the airport, and that makes getting to your early flight super convenient. And if you think it would be loud sleeping at the airport, these little rooms and super quiet. I was pretty amazed. So if you just need a place to crash and you don't want to mess with cabs to the airport, this is the place. I really enjoyed the stay.

Yelp
Located inside Gatwick's south terminal the Bloc hotel is easily located by following the signs from the entrance to the terminal. After a swift friendly check in we were given our room key then took the lift up to our room on the fifth floor. The Bloc hotel offers a variety of different rooms to suit your needs, from family rooms to VIP rooms. As we needed a double room we had the choice between booking a 'sleeping double room' or the 'Vista double room', the difference was the Vista has a window in the room where as the sleeping room doesn't. All Vista rooms have a large window which gives you incredible views over the runaway, although this means it is more expensive I ended up booking the Vista room just to experience this. The room itself was compact but efficient and was everything we needed for a one night stay. Beautifully designed with incredible attention to detail, a Samsung tablet is used to give you full control of the lights, window blinds and room temperature from the comfort of your bed, and as a person who is always incredibly cold I can safely say the heating is amazing. Another great feature of the room, if not the best feature, the most comfy king size bed ever! Seriously I need to find out where they purchase their mattresses as it is honestly like sleeping on a cloud. Another highlight of staying at The Bloc is that all guests receive a discount book in their room, which includes a variety of offers and discounts in the restaurants and bars located in the South Terminal. As we arrived early evening we made the most of this by going for a meal in Giraffe, having never eaten in Giraffe before I was also pleasantly surprised by the wide range of vegetarian options in their menu. After dinner it was so nice to only have to walk a few minutes to be back at our room to get some sleep for our 4am wake up, even better was waking up and taking a casual stroll down to passport control to then board our plane. While I won't be staying in an airport hotel for every trip I now will consider it more often for those early morning flights, as it really does ease the stress and tiredness before a plane journey. It also started the holiday earlier as well making a weekend city break seem that bit longer. As I mentioned before there are various hotel options located in and around Gatwick airport but after my experience I would not hesitate to recommend and stay in the Bloc hotel again.

A L.

Yelp
In an emergency, I had to spend the night in one of Bloc's rooms and not only was it clean and welcoming, but the vibe was super calming, which I definitely needed. Only docking one star because, amazingly, you cannot hear ANY plane noise but the hallway noise is intense if your neighbors have children.

Yelp
LAYOVERS BEWARE! The website makes it appear like it is inside the terminal where you arrive and depart for your next flight, but it is NOT. If you are looking for this hotel to nap/refresh during a long layover, you must get someone to escort you from your terminal where you landed, and out of the airport. To come back in for your flight, you have to go through security all over again (and give yourself the recommended 2 hour time frame to get checked back in). Other than that, the room is clean, shower looked clean and bed was comfy.
google avatar

Denise J.

Yelp
If you're ever stuck with an overnight layover in Gatwick, Bloc Hotel is a great spot to stay! It's located inside of the airport, which is a huge plus! Since I was already in the airport, I didn't have to stress about catching a cab and missing my flight. I wish that all airports had hotels located inside of them! The room is small and basic, but well designed and has everything you need for a short stay: comfortable bed, regular shower & rainfall, TV, & WIFI. Some people mentioned that their room didn't have a window, but we booked a slightly bigger room to fit two & it did have a window. Another thing I liked was that we were given a coupon book that included discounts on some of the airport shops and restaurants. We used the coupon for the grocery store located inside of the airport to buy food to bring on our flight. If I'm ever out here again and need a place to crash, I'll book Bloc again.
google avatar

Yelp
Made my family and I wait for nearly six hours for check in... after a 12 hr flight. Of course this information was not shared at the time the reservation was made. What's the point? I'm only in the room for a few hours at this point. Seems super convenient but it would've been more convenient, almost as comfortable, and 100% cheaper to sleep in the terminal.

Yelp
2 weary New Yorkers flew in on cheapo but perfectly fine Norwegian Airlines on a redeye, easily checked into the Bloc which is truly inside the airport, (no catching a taxi or shuttle to take you off property) to the most incredible tiny room, one has to put the suitcase on the bed just to open it. My hubby easily took the train from LGW into the city to get sim cards, fill up our Oyster cards and have fun, while I slept at the Bloc like a drunken sailor. I walked out into the concourse where the shopping is plentiful, including a grocery store where I got food and wine, and brought back to the micro room. We saved THOUSANDS by going this route, as we were flying to BLQ the following morning, and were delighted that we had "our ducks in a row" for when we returned to London. What we paid for our nonstop Norwegian flight and one night at the Bloc saved us way more $$$ than flying into any other European airport. We paid maybe a little over 100 USD for our micro room, although one can pay for a much bigger and more expensive room. If you are a traveler on a budget, and have a connecting flight, and do not want to be jet lagged upon arrival at your final destination, Norwegian and a night at the Bloc wins every time. The room was incredibly quiet, the bed was soft, warm and cozy, the bathroom is a hot mess with water going everywhere, but it wasn't a big enough deal that we wouldn't do this again. Waking up refreshed, and truly inside the terminal was just amazing. We were the only family members who arrived in Italy happy, not jet lagged, composed and ready to go the following day. We absolutely will be doing this again and think you should too. The staff was professional and responsive to our needs.

Yelp
Last minute needed somewhere to stay due to missing our flight and not being able to get one until the next day. The rooms are located inside the airport the rooms are very clean and we were able to check in within 2 minutes of booking. Rooms have wifi and flat screen tvs everything is very convienent
google avatar

Thomas C K.

Yelp
The location is great if you are an air traveller. However, please be aware that the rooms are very, very small. The toilet is in the shower and vice versa. If you have any amount of luggage and are a couple you will be hard pressed be able to turn around. The rooms are clean and relatively quiet - but very small!! Also, if you are claustrophobic this is not the hotel for you because our room (and apparently others) did not have windows.
google avatar

Vicky L.

Yelp
I'm a total convert for staying overnight in semi-wannabe-capsule hotels before a ridiculously early morning flight. Who cares if there is no window? You're only going to sleep for about 5 hours after all! My room was perfectly functional with a clean small double bed, a TV, a wet room and free wifi. If you don't like your toilet lid getting wet, or have a tendency to feel claustrophobic, walk away now. The check in for the night before was a breeze and you just drop your card key off when you leave. While it would not be my hotel of choice for an actual holiday, being able to roll out of bed literally into the plane (well, via security and duty free) is pretty awesome. This in itself makes it worth 4 stars. *It's worth checking in first THEN go buy dinner as there is a little booklet of discounts in the room.
google avatar

Rick o.

Yelp
Super convenient super comfortable and very modern style rooms we were late to our flight and we had to book a flight for the next day! Didn't want to risk being late again so we booked a room inside the airport at bloc and I was expecting a ugly smelly room! I was wrong them rooms were actually nicer then some 5 star hotels I've stayed at! And the bed was extremely comfortable! A whole lot better than sleeping on the chairs at the terminal the cost was 100 pounds but we booked through orbitz so we only paid $80 for the night
google avatar

Joyce C.

Yelp
You get what you pay for. Very convenient if you're arriving late or leaving early because it's in the airport, literally right outside the gates / baggage claim. Very clean rooms, but compact. Not as big of a fan of the open shower in the bathroom since everything gets wet.Otherwise, very fast in and out.
google avatar

Hamish S.

Yelp
I stopped in overnight between flights. I would almost check in again because of the shower. It was amazing. I should say that again - amazing. It has your regular shower setting, and then a rainfall from the ceiling. I'm normally a quick in and out sort of shower guy - but I spent a while in this one - it was great after a long flight. The bed was comfortable, and the rooms were quiet. The only negative I can say is that the food selection in the Airport was not the best - cafe standard. But I will definitely use them again :)

Craig B.

Yelp
We stayed in the "Vista" style room with a window, a very comfortable room and en-suite bathroom (wet room). I was worried about the noise from the planes but it wasn't an issue at all. Would definitely recommend people to this hotel for its location and price - perfect if you have an early flight from Gatwick!
google avatar

Elena Q.

Yelp
Just had a fantastic night at bloc gatwick . Yes, it has small rooms but you don't need a super plush room for an overnight at the airport. Best bed EVER, best towels EVER (big and fluffy!!) and amazing shower! Three things that for me are crucial

Jonerys T.

Yelp
I had to stay in the Bloc hotel due to my flight getting cancelled. This was quite a good experience. They offer a good dinner and breakfast in the nearby restaurant. The staff kind and helpful when my wifi wouldn't work. The room was tiny but comfortable. Overall a good airport hotel.
