London Palace

Clean and quiet in residential area. Staff helpful and friendly. They do both European and Srilanka breakfast. We had first floor room with balcony. Useful to have address handy for Tuk Tuk drivers. But this is common for lots of the places we have stayed. |Going back to stay again after a few days in Jaffna. Highly recommended

Actually the location is good. Not too far to the city centre. It is not a palace ! it is just a guest house with minimum facilities. Room is quite big but for us (me and my husband) was given a family room where we had one double bed and two single beds . It was too tight. Mini fridge was empty. Not even a bottle of water was provided as a gesture. bathroom is outdated, dinning area is ok but it is just an area with some tables and chairs. .very close (compact) with the neighbours. one side(next to the dining area) is dirty and disgusting as the open drainage system below. There were some foreigners . They must have mistakenly chosen the place as it is named "London Palace". A scam!

Good for a quick night stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Small family establishment. Mix between a home stay and a hotel.

London Palace is a peaceful guesthouse in a quiet sidestreet. The room was clean and bright, with doors opening onto a balcony with a green leafy outlook. Really good size room, with desk, dressing table, open wardrobe, ceiling fan, air con, bar fridge (so nice to come back to cold drinks after being out in the heat!!) and a very comfortable bed with mosquito net. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they arranged a lovely Tuk tuk driver called Pala for a couple of half-day trips to the Anuradhapura ancient city and Mihintale. Nice food with lots of options to choose from, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a nice quiet neighbourhood and I felt very safe. The only downside was that the internet was sometimes a bit patchy.

We were extremely disappointed the way how this place treated the domestic clients, we were a group, and we sat down for a drink at the main table, had to ask every single thing like forks, spoons, no sense about hospitality at all. They only cared about the foreign visitors and neglected us as soon we visited the place. We were respecting the rules like from not singing, but we were continously asked not to shout on the dining table, it was just talking to each other.. Imagine what would they have said for the foreign people if they were doing the same? A visitor is a visitor, regardless of their skin color, or country of residence. We came for 2 nights but we left immediately after one night. Specially the hot water shower was unadjustable due to the height and the water was like hell hot, we couldn't bath properly. Completely disappointed in the way how they had learnt about hospitality.

Mid range family run banquet hotel with good facilities and very kind and hospitable service. Good AC rooms with double and triple beds. Mini fridge in suite bathroom and privete balcony. Conveniently located way from hustel of the town in a quite setting but conveniant access to attractions. Rooms and bed linen are clean and room rate is very affordable offerings good value for money. Food is great; tasty, good range with value for money.

Everything is good. Love the breakfast, transitional Sri Lanka breakfast. Need to take the transport to visit around the old city.
