Lone Oak Ice Cream

I haven't been to Lone Oak in 35 years!!!! I definitely won't wait that long to go again! My grandparents took me there when I was little.....so I had Grandpa's favorite flavor, Butter crunch! Memories! The Small (pictured) was HUGE!

Mmm… strong with the flavor, this one is. Ordered the Black Raspberry Oreo—a towering swirl of homemade ice cream greatness. No tricks of the Sith, just pure dairy-powered mastery. The portion? Massive. Like “might need a droid to help carry it” massive. The flavor? A harmonious blend of tart black raspberry and crushed Oreo cookie that could tame even the darkest of moods. Made fresh daily since 1962, this place is a local legend. Add in peaceful picnic tables, and you’ve got yourself a galactic-level treat. 🍦✨ Homemade. Huge. Heavenly. May the frozen Force be with you.

As a hidden menu item, they have the 'mini' size which is smaller than a kiddie, and is perfect for the 5 year old range. Otherwise, it's a typical mega portion ice cream joint. Be sure to taste test the flavors when they come out before sitting down with your order. We were accidentally served pumpkin instead of maple. The line was deep on the return. Although the picnic tables are nice, a few bee traps would go a long way to making this place great

Forget everything you thought you knew about ice cream—these folks are straight-up churning happiness into a cup or cone. Best ice cream I’ve ever tasted, no contest. The scoops? Let’s just say they don’t believe in “small.” But really, who’s coming to an ice cream shop for portion control? Not me! Flavors are bold, original, and delicious. If joy had a flavor, it would be served right here.

Best homemade ice cream in town! Huge selection of flavors and theyre very generous with the portions! We look forward to them opening every season and try to go as often as we can!

This is a great little spot to stop for ice cream with the family. They have seating outside and plenty of space. We ordered 2 "baby" size cups and a small twist.

Stopped here for lunch and ice cream after a shopping trip. The lobster roll and a generous amount of lobster, one of the best that I have had! The crinkle fries had a nice crunch, without being overly greasy. For dessert there were dairy free options! I had the small mint oreo in a dish. The small is 9oz, I couldn't finish it all in one go, so with my napkin and spoon I made a makeshift lid, which helped keep it together until I found a freezer for the rest. The ice cream was just as good as when it was scooped.

We have only just learned about this place and so glad we did! It's really a superb place to go whether you're a local looking for a treat or a quick (all depending on the wait time though) meal, or if you're visiting/passing through. They're so efficient running a tight ship and the staff is so super friendly-they get people through quickly but they are popular and can get very busy. The place is so, so clean, and I just love that-the tables are clean and cleaned regularly, which is not common everywhere or to be taken for granted. They have multiple windows for their ice cream, because-it's fresh on-site homemade ice cream and so, so awesome. The food, ob's is what you're looking for, is perfect-we're big foodies, and I mean that. They have a small menu and they do it well. We agree that these fries are the best we've had in years, anywhere, and that goes for both the regular and sweet potato. We personally love the haddock sandwich because it's fresh, perfectly fried and perfect, flaky fish. The burger-I mean honestly it's over of the best burgers we've had ever, and by far better than any fast food burger you'll get. Lastly but not least, they have a wonderful and large outdoor seating area (it's all outdoor seating here) and it's so pleasant and shaded by trees and just wonderful-you won't be disappointed, go here.

Stopped at Lone Oak Ice Cream for an ice cream. The sizes were huge for a small (3 scoops). Black raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt and mint chip frozen yogurt (I think this flavor got mixed up with dairy version, been tied to the since eating it‍).

Let us take our time deciding. Have a large selection so it took me awhile. Very nice picnic area with shade.

Magnificent little roadside ice cream stand serving up some of the very best homemade ice cream in town. This is one of those ice cream places where you order and pay for your items at a window and your ice cream is made right away. I was in the mood for some ice cream so I stopped off here to get some. They were a bit busy but there were three windows open so I was not waiting long at all for service. I was looking to order an ice cream sundae. I had been hoping to get the mint chocolate chip ice cream but they were out of it so I ended up getting the mocha chip ice cream instead for the ice cream to have them make my sundae with. They have more than enough flavors to pick from so finding an alternative flavor was not a problem at all. No inside seating here but if you are like me and prefer not to eat in the car they do have plenty of picnic tables outside where you can sit down and eat your ice cream. I must say the portion size that they serve here is excellent. I was wanting something small that I'd have room for so I ordered the kid size sundae and it actually could have easily filled an adult. It only cost $7 so that was a very fair price for what I received. The ice cream was very delicious and it tasted like it was freshly made. This place does close for the colder weather months so definitely get here sometime between the Spring and the very early Fall. They have a parking lot with plenty of spaces to accommodate their customers. I am glad I decided to stop by!

Fast service and always energetic staff. There is an outside seating area and the staff works hard on keeping it all clean. Their specials and signature flavors make a wonderful difference when choosing a delicious treat. Be adventurous and try one of their flavors from dark and stormy to fluffy fruit salad and they even have non dairy and sorbet flavors too.

We have been going there almost every Saturday for over 45 years. Started off with two little girls just barely able to walk. Now just my wife and I. Obviously we highly, highly recommend Lone Oak. The specialty ice cream flavors are grrreat.

Ice cream is a bit hard, but it's delicious. You can tell it's freshly made. We appreciated that there was no line - we basically walked right up and ordered. Huge portions - we got 2 smalls, and it was $12... so it's a bit expensive, but very tasty... We drove @15 minutes out of the way, based on the reviews, and were not disappointed! I wish we could take it home with us, but it's a long drive.

My husband and I were coming home from the White Mountains and looking for a place with a window where you go up to and order. I checked Yelp to see if there were any places like that on the route we were taking home. I came across Lone Oak Ice Cream and I'm so happy I did! The food was delicious! The crinkled fries were fantastic! I had the Chicken Tender Plate. It came with a huge portion of fries and 5 or 6 nice size tenders. My husband had the Fried Chicken Sandwich and said it was awesome! The chicken in both the tenders and the sandwich was really nice white chicken breast. We will definitely return to Lone Oak Ice Cream. I have to. They make their own ice cream, which looked delicious, but I was too full from the food to get one. There's definitely one with my name on it. Lol Enjoy!!

Lunch on a warm September day, sat outside under the trees. The lobster rolls are delicious and made mine Gluten free. I love their ice cream so I ordered a frappe. Come here 2-3 times each summer, never disappointed.

Love this place. Onion rings are better than 2019's fare. Am happy to say fish and ice cream very generous in portion. Always a fav to frequent in NH

I have sampled ice cream across the East and West coast of the USA, gelato in Italy, and ice cream in the UK. This rivals the very best ice cream I have had in places like rural England or Dublin. I couldn't believe there weren't more reviews here.

Icecream is great and homemade. Tons of unique and traditional flavor options and servings are huge, the photo shows size smalls. Great prices, seating, and food options. Would 100% go back if in the area.

The food is awesome. The benches are kinda sticky and there's ants everywhere, but that's to be expected from an outdoor place like this. The service is good from what I've seen, nice people work there. Great place for ice cream fanatics.

Food... meh.., Ice cream, AWESOME! If you watch them, the young people working there don't tend to wash their hands as much or as often as they SHOULD be. ALWAYS TOURIST BUSY so be prepared to WAIT. And WAIT. And WAIT And WAIT, And WAIT An... well, you get the idea!

I recently discovered the magic of black raspberry Oreo. I've been missing out! It's so good. I've had some subpar ones- where it tastes almost medicinal, they do not! Extremely creamy and decadent. I buy several of their specialty batches every few weeks! They make such fun flavors!

This Spring, when they open, try the PEPPER CHEESEBURGER & fries. YUMMO! SOoooooo, good. Hot, golden fries & lots of them. Cheeseburger smothered in red & green peppers, then add the cheese! Just like Mom used to make. So wonderful! My friends first brought me, here. I had no idea it even, existed? Like an old fashioned, roadside burger joint of the 1950's. Just great! Wonderful food. Nice staff! Fresh hot or cold ingredients, cooked as you like. So great.. Fast, fun & you sit among the tall pine trees in the summertime & just relax, talk & enjoy the breezes. Nice!!!

Have loved Lone Oak since I was a kid. It's a summer staple here and always busy, but with fabulous service from all of the staff. Prices are great especially for the HUGE portions. The small is the size of my face Lots of flavors to choose from, and amazing special batches every week. Definitely a must try if you're new to the area!

Tasty Ice Cream and Fast Service. Just moved to the area from out of state and this is the closest icecream place. Had homemade hard ice cream and it was delish. They also sell hand packed pints so you can get your faves to take home.

Went there for icecream it was very good. My daughter had the chicken salad sandwich and she said it was delicious.

One of our favorite ice cream places in the area. Their special batch ice cream flavors are fantastic. Large portion size and reasonable prices. I've also heard they have amazing lobster rolls, if you enjoy seafood you should definitely try one!

I've been going to Loan Oak for years, only 4 stars as the last time I went the picnic tables were all pretty gross and hadn't been wiped down. I'm sure they're suffering from staffing problems but it stinks when my family can't find a clean table to eat at.

Lone Oak Ice Cream... Giant ice cream, reasonable prices, great service. While on vacation from Buffalo, New York, I went to Lone Oak for some ice cream with a couple of my family members. We went fairly late on a Monday evening (around 9pm) so the food portion was closed. Fortunately, we only wanted ice cream anyways. Heeding warnings from family members that reside in Rochester, New Hampshire, I knew to get a baby size. A baby size ice cream at Lone Oak is a medium anywhere else. At least two scoops of hard ice cream come with the baby size. From my understanding, Lone Oak makes their own ice cream, perhaps that is why it was about $3-4 for a baby ice cream. Or maybe it's because a baby ice cream isn't really baby. Regardless, the employees were friendly and Lone Oak is open late with great hours = four stars to me!

Lone goes back to when I was a child. I have always gone there for their food and ice cream and now I bring my son there and he loves it as well.

I have been going to Lone Oak since I was a little kid and have recently had the joy of introducing my family to this summertime landmark. I LOVE the lobster rolls which are reasonably priced and as good as just about any I've ever had. The ice cream is incomparable though the kiddie size is more than enough. My husband says the ice Cream flavors are authentic and not too sweet. He adds the hotdogs are the best in NH. My 9 yo son thinks the hamburgers are 'really good' and the ice cream is 'awesome!!!' 4 year old daughter thought the grilled cheese was great

This place is an absolute GEM in the woods. It's got great parking which fills up fast, a testament to the fact their ice cream will knock any socks off if you choose to wear them instead of flip flops. I stopped the other night with my son, he got a mango sorbet and I got a pb&j ... ughhh it was so creamy, flavorful, and well balanced. It's delicious and truly the best ice cream in the lakes region. There are many places that sell other creameries creations, but this place makes their own dessert options, with LOVE. Every creative cup has a great balance of ingredients so each bite is made to trigger the salivation glands... I highly recommend you stop here and grab a quart of pint, a cone always makes you want some more!! Muddy Sneakers, Oatmeal Cream Pie, Apple Pie, Cookie Monster ... oooooh the creations are endless and so diverse. Check this place out and thank me later... Rum raisin, peanut butter cup, black raspberry oreo, strawberry cheesecake... oh i am drooling... guess I will be stopping there again today! :)

Oh my god what a find. We got here a week before they close for the season and boy were we lucky. HUGE portions of delicious and creamy goodness. We had Oatmeal cream pie, strawberry cheesecake, Wookiee dough, and raspberry Oreo. Amazing. Look at Joe in his picture. He never looks at ME like that!

I grew up with Lone Oak ice cream, it was all I knew as far as local ice cream shops, so I thought it was the best, little did I know that there IS better out there! This is your best bet for ice cream in town though. The portions are HUGE, I would recommend getting a child size, unless you're splitting it with someone. The prices are a little high, last time we went there we got two frappes and it cost us almost $15, crazy! Summer nights are when its at its busiest, usually huge lines, long waits, not enough people working behind the counter.

My goodness - this ice cream is still the BEST after 20 years! Growing up in NH, I couldn't wait to introduce my husband to the wide selection and HUGE servings I remembered from my youth. The selection of flavors was still impressive. And the servings are still HUGE! We also enjoyed a light lunch - which was super cheap (3 people ate for only $11). I'm so happy Lone Oak is still as good as I remembered.

Long history going to this spot. It never lets you down. Pretty large portions and homemade for over 50 years. That deserves to be recognized!

I like to consider myself a connoisseur of ice cream. It is one of my favorite foods on the planet. Naturally since I live in this town, I had to check out the local ice cream stand. We come here a couple of times a uear, usually to appease the 7 year old in the family. The portions are huge, and the prices are okay, but I could get a three scoop sundae with toppings at Friendly's for the same price as a small, and have the same amount of ice cream. Some of the flavors I enjoy, some leave a weird taste in my mouth - usually anything with a vanilla base. Today I had mocha chip, and I enjoyed it.

My parents have taken me here for years. The ice cream is amazing, and food is good! Great outdoor, picnic type place. Dog friendly with a big parking lot and happy cashiers!

This is my favorite ice cream. It has the perfect taste and is very delicious. It also has many flavor. Recommend it to anyone who needs advice. They almost have other food which is a nice thing.

Wednesday's half price lobster rolls are as big as your head and so delicious. Hell.. everything here is DELICIOUS.

High prices but a nice treat once a year. They've been around since I was a kid and are very well known. It's a very busy place so I usually count on there being a line but it moves pretty quickly thankfully since they have a few windows open at a time.
