9 Best Breweries in Portland, Maine | Condé Nast Traveler

"Listen in on the crowd at Lone Pine and you'll hear folks bragging about how hazy they got their homebrews or that they just got back from a long weekend road trip to Hill Farmstead and the Alchemist. So it goes when you're in a brewery putting out a vast array of some of the best hoppy beers in the city. If you run down their full list of beers they have 17 different versions of an IPA, double IPA, or imperial IPA. The hazy and fruity Oh-J is probably the best known (and most recognizable in a bright orange can) and should probably be the first order for a new visitor." - Noah Kaufman

EPIC beer garden! The brewery itself is stunning — felt like stepping into an Alaskan log cabin. The beers were incredible, especially the Pomegranate Sour they partnered with Holy Donut on — absolutely standout. The Low J, a low-calorie option, was also fantastic: light, crushable, guilt-free, and packed with legit flavor. The bartender was awesome, making the experience even better. Located in a neighborhood with plenty of other breweries, this spot is perfect to check out and stay awhile. Highly recommend!

Fantastic selection. Did two flights and everything was great! Tom was awesome and had the perfect recommendations for us. Upper deck is very cool. The holy donut sours and IPAs are not to be missed.

Great little brewery to check out. The outdoor atmosphere is laid back and cozy, the fire pit is a nice touch. They have a decent food selection and their kid options are perfect for little ones. There’s plenty of seating and it’s spaced out so even if it’s full, you don’t feel crammed. Definitely worth checking out and was the perfect spot to get a pretty quick dinner with 2 kids.

Awesome little brewery branch located near the action of the Old Orchard Beach pier. They've greatly expanded their food offerings over the past few years and sell awesome merchandise as well as a collaboration with The Holy Donut. There's gazebo nooks, firepits, an outside and inside bar area and plenty of festival style seating areas in their yard and patio. Cocktails, wine, and free board games available as well.

This place literally cannot get better. Loved their OOB location and their Portland spot is just as amazing! Thanks to Tom for letting me sample a bunch of stuff and for fantastic conversation!

Every time we come to Portland we hit Lone Pine. Beer variety is good and they have a newer outdoor area which hits the mark

This brewery may be smaller, but that just adds to the experience. The cozy space makes it easy to have a great conversation, whether you’re catching up with friends or chatting with other beer lovers. The selection is solid, with a mix of creative brews and classic styles. It’s a laid-back spot that’s perfect for grabbing a drink and enjoying the atmosphere.
