Long Johns Pub

Chill restaurant located on silver star resort, great spot to get a good burger or sandwich after skiing or winter sports and the mountain. Food is great and juicy, with reasonable prices for a mountain resort! Service is excellent, waiters attend tables very consistently, atmosphere is a great little pub vibe, although don't overlook that for the food. Be sure to check it out!

Long johns has the best pub, burger and onion rings on the hill! I've been hitting up long johns for years since doing xc ski camps at silverstar. The food, service and beer has always been above expectation. Had the chicken Caesar wrap on special and it was excellent not too overly sauced and an awesome amount of lettuce, the gravy with the fries was a game changer. The onion rings are awesome and great for sharing..esp amongst vegan friends!! Cider on tap, Back hand off God beer that tastes like Christmas in a glass. You can't beat it!

Places with old and worn signs are either a hit or a miss. This spot is a hit! The service was absolutely amazing. Very attentive and energetic server. The fries were incredible. Every other dish that passed my table looked spectacular. Definitely a gem! Atmosphere was lovely, even though it was packed. Highly recommended!

The nachos with pulled pork were absolutely amazing. We were sharing as a group of 6 and we all agree that these are the best nachos we’ve ever had!

Amazing variety of lunch and dinner options. Ate there 3 times in 3 days, all great dishes! Besides daily sandwich and soup options, recommend pulled pork Quesadilla and baked Mack and cheese!!

Great place. Very tasty meal and terrific service. Highly recommend. Perfect for a casual dinner.

Excellent pub with amazing service! We went to pick up our race packages for the S2S nordic race and hand a hankering for a beer. Found Long Johns in the corner by the market. After ordering some drinks the waitress let us know about the specials and we were sold on the burger even though we just ate. It was excellent and hit the spot. They had stella in a bottle and DINO SOURS my favorite. The burger was excellent and we had some onion rings as well - hopefully they'll help speed us on the down hills during the race. :) Highly recommend Long Johns if you're up at the Star. Definitely going back tomorrow after the race to refuel!

A great place to eat between runs! The chicken club sandwich and the pulled pork sandwiches were very delicious also.

Worst Caesar ever!!!! Just some spiced tomato juice and a splash of vodka in a tiny glass, not even a stick of celery... and a short, curly red hair in my drink to boot. Come on guys, you can do better than that!! Never going back.

What do you need after a long day of skiing or boarding or snow shoeing or sliding or ....sitting? Why a nice warm place inside with hot food and cold, cold beers. Long John's is my favourite pub on Silver Star Mountain. Poutine-ize any meal. I'm not kidding. Thanks, dudes and dudettes for always being there for me after skiing with a nice cold pint of organic, local Back Hand of God Ale.

As fast as pubs at a ski hill go, this is what you'd hope for. Fast attentive service, a host, good beer Everyone's foods looked and appeared good, with the exception of the 2 of us that ordered the chili. When I'm skiing, I like my lunch to be protein fiber and veggies. Chili fills the need nicely, The chili at long johns is very tasty, but it's a small ladle of chili. The rest is all bread bowl and cheap nacho chips.. I left hungry, and loagy from all the carbs.

Kewl atmosphere... was recommended by one of the local staff. Was good food for sure. Kids had mac and cheese and pulled pork burger. I had the ribs. They were good... not the best I have had, but this isn't a BBQ joint either....

DO NOT GO HERE, HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Two friends and I, went to Long John's Pub after a day of skiing. We got inside and there was a long booth/ table. I asked the owner if we could sit there and he said "yes." We got settled, were brought waters and after about five minutes the owner comes up and tells us that, "You have to move to another table because there is a bigger group that came in." I asked if it was a booth as well and he said no its a bar table. I said "no, we were here before them and you said that we could sit here." Then he freaked out he very aggressively told us to "Move or get out" I was very upset at being treated that way as a customer. So I told him that, "this is terrible service" To which the owner replied "Theres a big line at the door and their gonna pay a lot more many than you and your friends will." So after that we left, but after that. Unhappy with how the interaction had went, I decided to go back to Long John's and talk to the owner again. In a calm voice I told him "how I worked at a restaurant and how he treated me as a customer is unacceptable" To which I replied, " I don't give a ****, people will still keep on coming here and paying." I told him again how unhappy I was and then he very aggressively started telling me. "GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT! The service was the worst I have received in my life. The owner is greedy and a horrible person. I highly recommend to never eat here.

Best choice for apres ski and dinner at Silver Star. Every age demographic is represented in this cozy owner run establishment Decent pub food is offered at a reasonable price, with a wide array of healthy options too. Kids meals are available. Having tried almost everywhere on the mountain over many years....this is your best bet (ask anyone you meet on the lift and they will mention this place first).

This is the best place you can possibly go to enjoy some good times and great food at silver star, the servers and staff are awesome, best place ever!

I recently discovered the great Terrain at Silver Star. Both times I went I went into Long Johns Pub for lunch. The last time in waited for 5 minutes to be seated while being ignored by the girls working there. All the while looking at an entire bar of empty seats along with two empty tables. After a few more minutes of standing in the way at the entrance and being passed by other patrons who were taking empty spots at the bar I made my way to an empty table and sat down and ordered drinks and lunch. After 15 minutes several other tables in our section had cleared and my buddy and I wanted to switch tables before the food came to allow us to face the TV. I asked my server to help and we moved our drinks and sat down. "John" the owner, rushed over and rudely said we could not move tables. I looked around at two empty tables and asked why. He accused me of not waiting to be seated even though i had waited and there was no talking him out of his anger. Apparently "he seats everyone" but was doing a bad job. I couldnt believe that this guy was being so rude to a customer for making a simple table move while there were so many empty tables so I asked for the manager. My server informed me that this guy was the owner... Needless to say I will not be visiting this busniness again. The next week a friend I had told about this incident called me to tell me she had a run in with the grumpy owner as well. She had ordered fries with her meal and they brought soup. When she asked for her fries the server muttered something about "now they have to throw out the soup" and went away to get the fries. Back came John the owner and he threw the fries down on their table and stormed off. My friend was startled by the actions and couldnt believe she was treated like that for politely correcting their mistake. She is also going to avoid that place in the future.

I had great expectations for Long John's after a day of skiing at Silverstar. My companion and I both ordered their dinner size salad, which sounded fantastic, but the nuts were rancid. R.a.n.c.i.d. Gross. Informed our waitress who was apologetic and brought us two new salads 20 minutes later. Unfortunately, that 20 minutes went by painfully slowly not least because the table next to us was playing penny shots - imagine the sound of coins pinging off glass as your primary dinner music along with drunken swearing and laughter. Hey - it's a pub! Anyway, by the time our second salads - hold the rancid nuts, please! - arrived, the smell of cigarette smoke had enveloped our table. At first I thought it was the penny pinging drunks at the table next to us, and, since I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, I immediately informed our waitress, whose underwhelming response coupled with a visible eye roll communicated that in her mind we had become "old fart complainers." We're not, actually. Is it really unreasonable to expect an entree salad not to have rancid nuts on it, or that one should be able to eat and drink in a smoke free (by law) establishment without choking on cigarette smoke? (That's a rhetorical question, obviously). As it turns out, the cigarette smoke comes in through the back door, where staff go out to smoke directly beside the restaurant. When our bill came, we were astounded that given the fiasco supper had become, our waitress didn't comp us anything. Not surprising given that by then in the evening, she was giving us her most boorish service - not even bothering to try to hide her disdain for the "unreasonable" customers we are. The bill for this lovely evening? $60 before tip. That's 2 glasses of cheap wine and 2 salads. When my companion complained to the manager/bartender on duty, he was told "Yeah, I heard about that [the rancid nuts]. That's really strange because we don't send out food like that." [Translation: We don't believe you, you're obviously just trying to get a free salad.] The manager/bartender went on to deny the cigarette smoke: "I don't smell anything. This is a non-smoking restaurant." Just as he was saying this, the back door opened and a staff member came in from outdoors, pulling in a waft of strong cigarette smoke with her. In the end, he comped one of our salads, but seriously, people, should it be a haggle? What ever happened to customer service? Or maybe at a place like Silverstar management relies on a steady turnaround of international customers? We're locally based and we'll never be back. And we'll be telling this story to all of friends who visit and/or regularly hit the slopes at Silverstar. Go to the Den - great food, great service, great prices on drinks. Long John's is the pits.
