Best pet store ever! So many raw food options so we finally started frozen raw food for the first time and so lucky the sweet lady here let us know how to use it. The young gentleman there was also really welcoming and accommodating. This store seems to have the greatest selection of treats too. Hope to visit again

Love this place ! This is my go-to for treats and high quality raw food for my dog. The staff are extremely informative, and I have even consulted them when Ziggy has become sick or has anomalous BMs. Food is high quality and competitively priced. I also highly recommend their toy selection as they offer primarily eco-friendly and non-toxic options that withstand a good beating. See you soon !

The best local pet food store for many reason. 1. Its locally owned 2. Their staff kicks ass. 3. They carry lots of local pet food and raw. 4. They have naked Guinea pigs. 5. My dog says so.

This place in very Friendly. The staff are sweet. I have been very pleased with Angel whom works there. She’s always given me the most helpful advice and suggestions. Great prices. If you need help with your pets food, care anything ask these ladies they are looking out for your fur babies best interest. :) 15/10 would recommend!!!!

Love this local business :) they have a great selection of both wet, dry, and raw foods for your fur babies. Staffs are always friendly and helpful and we love the adorable store cats! Our pup loves this place and always pull in for a treat and say hi to the cats!

Support local!! I always walk by this store and I am kicking myself for not going in sooner. Went in and heavy metal music was playing and a lovely smiley staff member greeted me. It was definitely my scene. The prices here are very reasonable for a local store and they have quite an extensive array of different dog and cat foods and a lot of high quality brands with very few grains and fillers. I ended up walking out with some wet cat food for my kitties and the best part of my experience was meeting the resident feline staff member, Richie. An adorable little guy with cow patterns and great customer service skills! Do yourself a favour and skip the larger pet stores - bring soul back into your pet shopping experience.

Cute pet/ pet food store. I was out of ferret food, and just happened to come across here the same day I ran out so I crossed my fingers in hopes they sold the brand I was looking for ( Orijen ) We were greeted by 3 friendly smiling staff members. The place had a doggie door and the sign stated pets were welcome. It had a warm welcoming feel to the store. I saw the brand I was looking for shortly after I arrived. I was really happy to find the size I was looking for as well ( I didn't want to have to haul around a huge bag with me ! ) Looked around a bit more, but didn't see much ferret stuff there ( we feed the ferrets high quality kitten food ) But wasn't surprised. We were cashed out by a nice lady then on our way.

So happy to be back with LLCD .When Gabby the greatest groomer left to Saskatchewan I was unsure of where to have my Bear groomed. Finally a new groomer (Cara) has arrived. Bear was treated so gently, he actually wanted to remain in Cara's arms. Bear looks like a puppy although he is 10.5 years old.I will remain a loyal customer trusting Cara with my Bear.

Local pet store located on Nanaimo and Hastings. I bring in my two dogs to get their nails trimmed all the time, and the groomer is always so great with my dogs. One of my dogs is half mini schnauzer and half chihuahua, so he has very skiddish tendencies and gets startled very easily. Informing the groomer prior to my dogs nail trim, they brought another coworker in to calm my dog while the groomer did her thing, so my dog can be at ease. Nail trims are only 10 dollars (currently) at this location, compared to the 13 dollars at Pet Smart. Only crappy part is that they don't have a full time groomer on, and she is in only in on select days, so be sure to call in to make sure somebody is in that day before you walk in.

Adorable!! This has got to be the coolest pet shop I've ever been in. Everything for your fur-family, all under one 'ruuuf' ! Raw foods, scary (giant) bones and specialty treats, accouterments, education, nail trimming and special adoption events, hell- even some pet couture; handmade sweaters for the littlest quadruped. The Grandview Woodland/Hastings Sunrise area is very pet friendly so pet service and retail shops are popping up in the East Village and doing really well. Love these girls and what they do. Keepin' it real in our 'hood. PS. Thanks for helping me choose a 'green' kitty litter for my friend's fur family. Recycled paper?! -that's awesome.

Fantastic staff - my pup LOVES coming in to say hello to Miranda and Violet - they knew exactly how to make him feel comfortable, even though he is super wary of strangers. They have been so wonderful with him, that he just wants to stay for cuddles! Thanks Miranda and Violet - you are super knowledgeable, and the company is so lucky to have awesome people like you!

What can I say about this place beyond how much I LOVE it? This is a store for people who adore their pets and everyone else's as well. We live in the neighborhood, so this is our go-to place for dog food, treats, etc. Dedicated to animal rescue in a heavy metal kind of way makes it unique and lovely; a true reflection of the community it serves.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff that actually gave me a free tester of dog shampoo rather than try to sell me a big bottle. Cool selection of toys and treats and the perfect pet store for this neighbourhood, my kids and I are loyal customers. They have answered a lot of questions since we adopted our dog (thank you!).

Absolutely love this place. I enjoy supporting local business, and LLCD offers a great assortment of quality products. They also special order in whatever I need that they don't regularly stock -- that's customer service. The staff are always very helpful and knowledgeable. And if you're looking for a great selection of raw foods, look no further. All paws up here!

My new fave place for pet foods! It's run by some friends of mine, so to keep my bias to a minimum i'll let other people who review the shop talk about their experiences with the staff and impressions about the store itself, but whether or not i know the owners i know this would be my new pet store either way! Trust me, if i thought it was crappy i wouldn't writing this review... I'd be like 'hmm, i could write a review... but i should really organized my sock drawer from oldest to newest socks, and then sub-categorize everything into colour too for good measure.' And why would i be shopping here? - All Canadian-made foods and everything is healthy! No grains, fillers, and junky food ever make it onto my kitty's plate... (Actually, my cat probably eats better than I do.) - A huge selection of raw foods! The only other pet store I've been to with as much selection is Woofgang's on Cambie Street, and they're way too out of my way to go to since I moved out of that neighbourhood. - On a related note... Omigawd, finally a pet store in the neighbourhood! - PET PHOTO BOOTH! So far it's only open when their photographer is around for special photo days, but the pics from the Grand Opening party were sooo cute! - It's a local business who support local animal charities like VOKRA! Long live Long Live Cats and Dogs!!

I am so thankful for LLCD. I finally have a local pet supply store! I'd been feeding my cat dry Wellness crunchies for a year or so. He never really ate much and my vet was getting on my case about how he needed to gain some weight. I went here to pick up some more food when he ran out and noticed that they don't carry Wellness dry. (They do have the wet though!) Kristy recommended the brand Arcana and said that it had been popular with most of the people coming in and gave me some nutritional info on it. I decided to try it out, and sure enough my cat LOVED it. He actually gained a pound, got my vet off my case, and he seems to have a healthier appetite than he ever has before! Also, they have the most adorable store cat! She has the softest fur and the cutest little meow. I will be coming back here from now on. :)

We love Long Live. Amazing staff and managers who love our dog. Know there are new owners. Please take care of your staff, pay them and use the system set up for out the back door pickup. Listen to the neighbourhood. Listen to the staff. Close to the public. Once you do that I will come back and return my rating to 5.

Fantastic staff, great selection, and a rock and roll theme! This pet store is the perfect example of why I moved to Vancouver. A unique and impressive small business choice for my pet needs, instead of struggling to find the few decent options that other stores may carry and driving all over town hunting things out. Pet smart, pet land, all the big stores stopped carrying the pine cat litter I really love and I found it again here along with grain free dry food that my cat absolutely loves! Small trail packs made it easy and inexpensive to try my finicky cat on this food without having the risk of him turning his nose up at 80 dollars worth of fancy food. Finally all the charity work that this place does is humbling, they care about their pets, our pets, all pets with an awesome rock and roll theme while doing it... Up the Irons! Thanks for being exactly what you are!

Best pet store in the city. Tons of Canadian and local products. Prices consistently below the big Tisol/Bosley group. Great staff. Store is huge Vokra supporter and sells fund raising merch for their spay/neuter group which makes me love them even more.

They do a great job of cutting our dogs hair (& trimming his nails etc.). I like they don't keep him there all day but do it in a few hours, which is way less stressful for our dog who really hates to going to the groomers.

Great, local pet shop that also offers grooming and training classes for your pooch! Their products always seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. Of course it isn't as fully stocked as Tisol, but Tisol can be overpriced and the staff don't always have a good idea what to recommend. Long Live have figured out the best products to get, are often cheaper and also have some keys products that I haven't even seen at Tisol! They're the only pet shop in Hastings-Sunrise, and they're excellent.

this place is super rad & i'm glad i found it! not only is its location insanely convenient for me (now i only have to haul my kitty litter 3 blocks, instead of 20some! and that is a hassle using a granny cart) but the owners are really sweet. they have friendly dogs & cats to greet you on arrival, and a great selection of raw food. prices are the same as/better than mr pet's on commercial, with the benefit of this not being a chain! there seems to be a good selection of pet stuff--harnesses, collars, scratching posts, etc--as well as food/treats/litter. this is going to be my go-to pet store from now on!

I am a fan. This shop carries quality pet supplies, food and treats. If you want RAW they have it, if you want DRY they have it if you want salmon skin... YUP they have that too. It's nice to be able to support local business that are passionate about what they do and sell and this shop is exactly that. The best thing I enjoy about Long Live Cat & Dogs is that they try to stock only local Canadian products. you won't find made or manufactured in China and where on their food and treat stock.

It's nice to have a good pet food store in the area finally. Its a cozy, friendly shop with cool owners. Glad I can get affordable raw food for my dog, and locally made raw food at that. They've been open for a year now and it looks like they are doing well. Its worth the trip just to pay a visit to Ritchie Catmore, the in store cat, so support this place.

I walked by this place on the way back from my hair dressers to kill time before my next event. I love the clean look of this place. The lady whom owns the shop was super friendly. I bought a bag of cat nip for my best friends cat for Valentine's Day. The prices are fair. There is a black and white cat (cow kitty) that lives in the store that was ubber cute. The have a cat scratching post in the shape of a turn table so that now your cat can be DJ kitty (I would decorate it with Deadmau5) stickers.

Proprietors Kristy and Alexis -- plus hounds Blade and Chief, and resident feline Richie -- rock our 'hood! My dog and I are SO glad they've set up business here in the East Village (formerly Hastings-Sunrise), conveniently 2.5 blocks from my home. They offer quality foods, including raw, plus dog and cat supplements, collars, leashes, toys...the works. Plus, they often have experts come in on specific dates for events like nail trims, "Ask the Trainer," etc. On Sat., May 19/12, I attended a seminar at LLC&D on supplements, which was very interesting and informative. And, as mentioned in another Yelp review, they support local rescue organizations with adoption events in-store (VOKRA, for example). So, get out there and support your local independent pet supply business, Long Live Cats & Dogs!

Favourite pet supply store in Vancouver. Conscious selection of products. Monthly kitty nail trims, great community engagement and consistently warm greetings by staff & resident felines, Ritchie & Ronnie. I'm sad to go anywhere else in the rare occasion my schedule doesn't line up with the store.

My new go-to pet store! Just purchased a pretty scratching post & napping-tunnel from this store today! I loved all the variety, and the store hours are so convenient! closing @ 6 & 8 pm. :) the cat that lives in the store is too adorable ! i'm recommending this store to my pals if they don't already know about it :)

Was excited to drop by to see this space, however, when I walked into the store I was not greeted by the woman working there. Also, when I commented that I had been to the Neuterhead Fundraiser she just stared at me and said "ya - they have it every year" and walked away. I had some specific questions about a certain type of cat food that wasn't being carried there and when I wanted to talk about what other options my cat could try she just walked away. Overall, super cold reception from a very unfriendly worker. I won't be going back or recommending it at all.

I live in New West and discovered LLCD through their support of a rescue group I volunteer with, and now I'm very happy to drive in every couple of weeks to shop. The ladies who run the store are extremely knowledgeable about health and nutrition, and every single item is specifically chosen for its quality. Such a fun place to shop with many unique, handmade items you won't find in the big box stores.

I really love this store. They only carry foods and products that are healthful for pets. They do this while being relaxed and laid back but still very knowledgable. I like knowing that I'm buying good things without getting the elitist attitude. Resident cats and employee dogs are super cute and welcoming. I also value that this business gives back to the community through animal charities. Can't wait for their short move down the street which will expand the size of the store.
