Visiting this lighthouse was easily one of the most memorable parts of our trip. For just $10, you get access to breathtaking views of the coastline and nearby Crow Head, along with a chance to explore a beautifully assembled museum inside the lighthouse living quarters. The real standout, though, is Thelma—an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate curator who almost single-handedly created the museum just a few years ago with limited resources. Her dedication shows in every detail of the exhibit, which offers a rich and respectful look into the lives of the lighthouse keepers and the critical role they played in Newfoundland’s maritime history. The story behind the lighthouse’s construction is both unique and inspiring, and well worth hearing. The lighthouse sits high on a cliff, but the climb is manageable—even for those wary of heights—and the payoff on a clear day is truly something special.
