Aurora, New York, Is America’s Best Small Spa and Wellness Town of 2023

"Listed among the public access points to Cayuga Lake in Aurora, Long Point State Park functions as another accessible place for lake recreation — swimming, paddling, and boating — during the seasons I visited." - Paul Brady Paul Brady Paul Brady is the news director at Travel + Leisure and the brand's expert on cruise travel. Great boat launch with lots of space and easy ramps. It says it closes at 6pm but people were launching and retrieving boats way later than that. There is a machine to pay for launching its $7 dollars which is quite reasonable for the facilities. One of the best launch sites I have ever used.

I loved how affordable it was to get in and how long you could stay and play in the water. What a beautiful, not over crowded place to spend the day.

The park was very nice. Plenty of picnic tables, clean restroom, nice path to walk on around the park. I took off one star because the signs for the parking are a little unclear. We parked on the grass (which I believe was where we were supposed to be). There was no one to ask. I also took off that star because the hiking trails weren't as well maintained as I have seen them for other state parks. I did love the benches and picnic tables along the paths though. Overall a great place to spend an afternoon.

Really cute and fun little park. Lots of picnic tables, restrooms during season but closed November 2024. A boat launch and and a nice beach that you can find sea glass at! Really cute and fun :)

I just used the boat launch there and boy is it a beautiful launch, 4lanes wide, plenty of room to make the swing in to back up to water, great dock system and plenty of depth of water for easy on n off of trailer along with being well protected with a new breakwall that guides you out into the lake! Also with ample parking in upper lot with a path n staircase that brings you right to the ramp area, i would consider it 1 of the best ramps on the lake!

Costs $7 per car to get in. A great place for the family - lots of beachfront for playing and beachcombing, as well as a playground. There are two boat launch ramps - I've launched my kayak there several times. There's a small swimming area at the very tip of the point and it's very fun in the summer. There are public restrooms and changerooms available as well.

Wonderful little park on the east side of Cayuga Lake near the town of Aurora. There's a boat launch, good parking area and a great playground for the kids, (and restrooms). It's a great park for a day visit. But our favorite part of the park is to rent out the cabin/ Cottage that is available for weekly rentals through Reserve America.com. The park is empty at night except for the cottage so you have a lot of privacy. With the cottage you have a dock, and you are right on the water. You have beach access. The park itself has been short staffed, so there's no lifeguards presently on duty. Sunsets are incredible. The cottage has a full bathroom w/shower. The kitchen full equipped with stove/oven, refrigerator w/ freezer, coffee maker, microwave and full sink to wash dishes. (need to bring own bedding and dishes/pans). Outside there are two picnic tables, a small grill for charcoal grilling, firepit, your own dock and beachfront.

Google
Long Point is an amazing little state park. It gets crowded sometimes on hot days, so be prepared to cart your stuff across the park. Please be respectful if you choose to visit and clean up after yourself and your pets, and please don't vandalize this beautiful place.

Yelp
Smallest state park in NYS and great place to be mid-week as few people are here...and it seems birds have already migrated through! Did not walk trails. Hoped they would be mowed to lessen my concern re ticks since I am visiting NY.

Yelp
A delightful little park just south of Aurora, NY (near Wells College). Even after growing up not too far away - and having driven by numerous times while going back and forth to RIT for school - I only recently visited this park for the first time. It's smaller, but lovely and very clean. Plenty of parking for folks just visiting the beach area, using the picnic tables, and so on, as well as plenty of space for folks coming in with boats. Easy access to Cayuga Lake via the little marina area, and even includes a rentable cottage with plenty of amenities. Even includes a couple miles of hiking trails, though my pup much preferred hanging out in the water and wandering along the beach area. :) All in all, another very nice NYS Park option available. I love having another spot to put my Empire Pass to good use! (Without the Empire Pass, the typical entry fee per car is $7 - you can find out more info about fees/etc here: https://parks.ny.gov/parks/longpointfingerlakes/details.aspx)
