This is an absolute must do if you are staying on the vineyard. Our kids loved the salt pond. Surf on the beach side was very rough so they didn’t go in but adults did.

Long point wildlife is a very beautiful place to go it is a beach with a big waves and a pond where some people do kayaking .To enter on this beach and pond you must be a member .The only thing I dont like is the seagull poop all over the sand which you put your towels the pond which kids usually swim and play have many little curious fishes Some of the fishes in the pond nibles your legs which is very tickling and sometimes it suprise you .

Another public beach is always welcoming to each summer. I like that there are extra uniformed young staff who assist visitors! We arrived in time for no swimming because of shark sightings. And they gave us the choice to stay or go. Price was something like 10 per vehicle, 15 per person and less for kids, and generally lower priced for members supporting the refuge. It's a great stretch of off-white sand beach with clearly visible signs. There is a pond nearby as another option for swimming. The drive into the beach from the main road is a dirt road with curves and bumps and lush flora and trees, and so it is satisfyingly private and distanced from traffic noise. Bring your own beach stuff! No kiosks here for provisions. Great fod quiet sunbathing, reading. Tons of space for volleyball, frisbees.

We went here off season and only 3 other persons were here. It was so peaceful and beautiful here. A real retreat! The beach was super clean, some seagulls and crabs were there. The road to the off season parking spot is a little adventure, but totally worth it. But make sure you don’t take your Sedan, you will need a Truck, it’s more comfy. We will definitely come back next year

This beach is beautiful! Great for walking and big waves for boogie boarding.

Long Point wildlife reserve is a beautiful place and I have been coming to this beach with my family for over 20 years. Over the years, the Trustees, have added more staff, more cute signs, and more restrictions. The more they try to manage the beach going experience, the more frustrating it has become to go to Long Point. They should focus on keeping the beach clean, and closing the beach when the maximum number of cars is reached. Thankfully we have found other beaches that are more welcoming.

Incredibly stunning place. Open fields, rowdy ocean, magnificent forest and patches of water. A must see

Wasn't expecting the miles of single lane dirt road to get there. Once there, the walk past the pond and beach was a good exercise, but question if it was worth bottoming out the vehicle to get there.

Yelp
Teenagers enjoyed the strong waves. We paid $20 fee online for afternoon 2-7 spot. You drive down a narrow dirt road which has pretty views. I dropped off family and beach gear at path to beach and parked (not too far). We came to beach because we heard it had good waves and that was true. Only issue was they were strong and broke close to shore. A bit dangerous to use boogie boards near the shore. Most beaches are free on MV but we were ok with paying to ensure parking and also beach did not feel crowded. We were told ahead of time that pond closed due to algae.

Yelp
Very hard to find. The instructions for the parking lot were unreliable and inaccurate. Be sure to visit the website to buy a parking pass in advance or else they won't let you in. Had trouble finding the hiking path but the beach area - though small - was nice and serene. Good place to bring kids or to just relax with some beach time. Must bring umbrellas or something covered - no shade or covering.

Yelp
Long Point is right down the road from our home so we go here often and year round. During the spring or fall The Trustees of Reservation are always doing something to the property. One thing they do is the controlled burn to maintain the sand plain habit. There is a trail from the summer parking lot to the ponds and shore that is great for spending beach time with the family. The ponds are great for small children. It is a long Walk from the parking areas to the south shore. In the summer they allow you to drop off your beach gear and then park. Fortunately they provide outhouses so you can spend the day in comfort. The property has walking trails, a natural area and the Trustees occasionally work with artists and offer nature and art. A great place on the island of Marthas Vineyard.

Yelp
There are so many great free beaches available on Martha's Vineyard, but we always love visiting Longpoint at least once. Generally, we are very happy with our experiences there. It is a gorgeous property and the access road has improved. However, I was less than happy about someone flying a drone there right above my head for a good half hour. And I was quite unhappy with the dog owners who thought it was okay to leave a big pile of dog poo right at the water's edge on the pond side. Still, I do love this beach and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit.

Yelp
We get our tan on at State Beach and South Beach, so it was time for a change up. Sam had heard of Long Point but hadn't been and neither had I, so it was time for adventuring. While it was a bit pricey, it was totally worth it. Parking is $10 per car and $5 per person, so it was $20 total for the two of us. After driving down an unpaved road very slowly for what felt like two miles, we found ourselves in a small parking lot. We then walked a bit to get onto the beach. There were signs posted about shore breaks and their dangers, but that didn't deter people from getting into the water. It was really cold though, and we eventually found ourselves at Long Cove Pond. The demographics of the population shifted greatly, to mostly little kids and their parents. But I wanted to hang out in the water and swim, not just jump in and jump out. In addition to being much warmer and more open to wading, it was fresh water. The water was relatively clear. It made for good swimming. I'm aware there's a lot more to check out on Long Point Wildlife Refuge, but we didn't get around to it.
