This was such a great and relaxing experience. Great wines at really reasonable price points and some older vintages that should have been a library collection but were poured standard instead! An incredible collection of vinyl records that could be requested to play and enhance your vibe. Side note: one of the bottles I took home had a cork failure and not only was it replaced, the owner opened a bottle not on the tasting menu to share. Highly recommended stop during your visit to wine country. Cheers

Wow! What an incredible experience. We were hosted by Todd, the owner and winemaker. We were the only guests there (which is too bad because this place is great) which made it feel like a private tasting. The tasting fee is a reasonable $15 and we were given a complimentary cheese plate. The wines are all at great price points. Collectively, our party bought almost a case of wine. Don't let the industrial building fool you, this is a great find. Love the small winery vibe where you can talk to the people who actually make the wine, not just the tasting room staff. Can not recommend this winery enough. We will be back!

Great wine. We had all the dates for their events wrong. So that was good to get straightened out and we got the last spots for their upcoming dinner. So glad we were able to stop in. Can't wait to taste those 2011 pinots.

Google
Pinots are especially good, but all were tasty. Enjoyed my conversation with the owner today. Talked wine through music with him . He saves the best grapes for Longplay wine and sells the rest to local vineyards. Support local businesses!

I wish I had more time to enjoy their wines, but we'll definitely be back. I had an "Aged Chardonnay" that was really a fantastic treat!

Yelp
Visiting in Willamette Valley in mid April for a wine tasting trip and ran across Longplay winery. As visitors we did not know that most wineries in Willamette are by appointment only, but when we arrived at Longplay they gladly let us in for a tasting. A bit of info on Longplay: Todd Hansen the owner purchased the Jacob-Hart vineyard in 2004 and renamed the vineyard after his daughter Lia. Know for its Pinot Noir Todd is putting out some very good varitals. His first bottle was introduced in 2007 named Lia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007. The winery has a Industrial feel and very clean, as the name implies "Longplay" is about vinyl records and Todd is always putting something on the turntable. There are great concert posters hanging on the walls going back to the 60's. A cool vibe all the way around with excellent music and great tastes. Todd & his staff hang out while your tasting to talk about wine and music, very cool. Stop in I assure you'll enjoy the wine and vibe. Correction: Todd purchased 50 acres of the Jacob-Hart vineyard - not the entire vineyard

Yelp
We love this place, and Todd and they recently moved to a really nice place in Newberg as well. An amazing upgrade! We love to support him and his tunes, and really.... He does having pretty damn good wines!! We love all of his wines, but my favorites are his Sparkling Rose, and his 2014 Hi-Tone wine. They were lovely to taste today. Highly recommend them if you love Pinot Noirs!

Yelp
We stopped in with the Oregon Wine Passport. We had two free tastings and a nice chat with the owner. He played us some vinyl jazz (big fan) and leisurely whiled away some time with us. We found out he used to be a foreign diplomat and has traveled extensively. You can tell, because he can make easy conversation with anyone. The environment is casual, with large windows and lots of natural light. The grapes are out in the middle of nowhere on private property but the tasting room is welcoming. I got the sense this isn't a place where you could browse undetected, but I didn't feel rushed. I don't know much about wine, but I ended up taking home a $20 bottle of rose, which was nice! I can't say it's better than a $10 bottle I'd get at Trader Joe's but it feels good to know I had a conversation with the owner and I'm helping support his trade and his family through the transaction. We also asked about food around, he recommended the bbq place, Storr's down the street and it was great! I'd trust his food recommendations again!

Yelp
Love this place! The owner is very personable and ensures that every person gets personal attention AND the wine, from the rose to the deepest red is excellent! If you like good music and a calm ambience this is your place!

Yelp
We cannot say enough about Longplay. The wines are really delicious. They have converted me to red wine. The interaction by the owner is much appreciated. The young lady who works there is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the music and it was very relaxing.

Yelp
Cute little tasting room in downtown Newberg. The branding is excellent, and more than just a clever idea, there is a record player in the tasting room. I they pour three wines, I think they only make three wines. I appreciate that they are a small operation, but I like a little more variety. I live in Newberg and have been here a half dozen times, I have picked up a few bottles. The wine is priced right and tasty.

Yelp
We swung by because of the Oregon Wine Passport and really enjoyed the tasting experience. Todd is great and passionate about his wine. We walked away with an excellent bottle of Rose.

Yelp
Great wines, service and spinning LP record. The owner is has passion for the product he produces and sells. Knows the wine, quite literally, inside out. The place has become and instant favorite. Cant wait to bring friends and family.

Yelp
The Kincade Fire caused us to pivot from Russian River to Willamette Valley for our fall wine trip. Our hearts are breaking and we offer thoughts and prayers for our winery friends impacted (Soda Rock, Field Stone, etc.) On the second day of our Willamette trip, we stumbled into Longplay (Newberg OR) on a Friday afternoon/evening. In fact, it was a First Friday. Wow, what a gem. Where to start, the wines or the vibe? Got to start with the wines. We were using the Oregon Wine Passport which gets you a complimentary tasting for 2 at Longplay. The wines we sampled were amazing. We tasted the 14 Pinot Noir Lia's Vineyard, the 14 Pinot Noir Jorey Bench Reserve, the 14 Hi Tone Lia's Vineyard, and I think the 18 Sparkling Rosé of Pinot Noir, "Pixie," Lia's Vineyard . They were all amazing. We are not bubble people, but the Sparkling Rosé was very good. Now quickly on to the vibe that evening. I think most of the people in the tasting room were club members and friends with some new customers/tasters. Todd put on some Tom Petty on the turntable and then came by with a splash of one of the tasting wines. I took a sip or two, looked at my wife and said I was hooked. I was ready to sell the house in NE and move out to Newberg so I could come and sample Todd's special creations in what was a very magical setting. OK, wait...back to reality. I actually told Sue that I wanted to buy a bottle to have with dinner and join Longplay's Groove Club. Sue said that let's buy the bottle first and sleep on the club decision. Reluctantly I agreed. She is the smart one. Long story short, I managed to not so subtlety structure the rest of our tasting trips to somehow end up back at the Longplay tasting room for a splash or two and a purchase. On our final day we stopped and I told Todd that I was ready to commit to become a Groove Club member. I was secretly hoping that I would have an option to purchase a cool leather jacket. Todd slightly deflated my Jacket hopes by indicating that joining the Groove Club was not a sign of exclusivity/privledge. It was really an opportunity to recognize loyal customers by offering new and special Longplay wines as significant discounts. OK, no Jacket, but I was still hooked. Before we left the Airbnb on Monday, I hit the Longplay website to join and "share the ride." If you are in Newberg OR make sure to stop at Longplay, have taste, and enjoy some great music on vinyl.

Yelp
For a year, I thought this was actually an audio shop. But I eventually wandered in, met the charming Todd (owner of Longplay), and discovered his wonderful wines. I have visited many times, and have always felt very welcomed, but now, onto the wines. I have never met a Longplay wine that I didn't like. Every single one is delicious. Some are more interesting than others, and when I've bought them and had them at home, they have lent themselves to some of the most fabulous food and wine pairings that I've created. I'm a fan of Longplay, and a fan of Todd, and look forward to future visits, and future pairing adventures!

Yelp
Great music and some great wine. Some of the wines are still a bit young, but overall we liked the wines. We bought two bottles. We were only available on a Tuesday, but Todd was more than happy to meet us and pour us some wine. He even opened a few that weren't on the list. He also gave us some food recommendation for lunch afterwards. Its worth it to give Longplay a try.

Yelp
Want an eclectic place with a winemaker who is just doing his own thing, living life? Then this is your place! The owner is a farmer and just loves what he does. He did teach us about pouring wine through an argon capsule so that a bottle of wine did not have to be open. It was kind of a cool trick! If you like 70s vinyl playing while sipping some wines and a casual laidback kind of place, this may just be your vibe...

Yelp
Stopped at Longplay on our way to the Coast, and was very pleasantly surprised. Not only is the Pinot Noir there great tasting and a great value - the guy that operates the tasting room (Todd) also grows the grapes and makes the wine - and play requests on vinyl. I learned more about winemaking, and particularly grape production, in 20 minutes there than in all other tasting rooms I have ever been in combined - fascinating. After we left and went to Argyle (not nearly as good...) - I noticed that I'd left my jacket back at Longpplay, but before we had a chance to finish our tasting and get back there - Todd had personally delivered it to us. Really hard to beat great wine, great value, and great service. After we got back home and had our 1st bottle of Longplay - realized that we should have bought more wine there - excellent!

Yelp
I just had to give Longplay 5 stars -- not so much for the wine -- but for Todd and his unpretentiousness. Todd would be my go-to guy if I was trying to learn about wine, had hillbilly cousins in town, wanted to get a lesson on clones or soil type or if I just wanted to have a fun, unpretentious tasting experience...In short, no matter what your mood, stop and say hello to Todd. And, as for the wines, the chardonnay and his top-of-the line pinot were stand-outs...the others were on-par with everything else in their price range and the $5 tasting fee was a really good bargain. I've paid as much as $20 for a flight of 4 pinots in the same quality range.

Yelp
Well worth a stop. Not only is Todd a really engaging host, the wine is killer and very well priced. We left with two bottles of pinot and a chardonnay. Maybe our favorite stop on a day of wine tasting in the valley.

Yelp
Great wines and the bonus of great music at Longplay during First Friday tonight. Todd was pouring some lovely Pinots as always, the 07 was soft and elegant, and the 2012s are showing really well, promising to only improve with age. The Chardonnay was excellent! Always a nice experience.

Yelp
Some friends and I spent an afternoon wine tasting and this was our first stop. We were greeted by the owner who then picked out a record for us to listen to while we tasted. We got to try 6 wines for 10$ but the tasting fee could be applied towards the purchase of a bottle. The wines were all delicious and the owner was very knowledgable. I would highly recommend stopping here for wine tasting if you are in the newberg area!

Barb B.

Yelp
Longplay is not to be missed ... for the wonderful wines (Chardonnay Rose and especially the variety of Pinots), the experience of talking with the owner, Todd as well as listening to good music! What could be better. Todd greeted us and allowed us to pick the first album we listened to. Yes old school, turntable! Two hours later and a few albums too, we tried a handful of wines, each better than the one before. Highly recommend the 2012 Pinot and the Hi Tone. We walked out with 4 bottles and probably would've bought more if we had room in our case for the airplane! Looking forward to a return trip.

Ara S.

Yelp
Todd is a friendly, engaging, charmingly eccentric guy and the wines are a great price for great wine. We only got one bottle, since we stopped by at the beginning of our trip, but I ended up regretting not buying more. As we stopped for a snack in my car, Todd raced out unasked to hand us a few tasting passes for nearby wineries. Love it.

Yelp
My husband and I found ourselves walking around Newberg, OR and discovered this delightful little wine tasting place. Longplay wine! We were fortunate to meet the owner and hear his tremendous story, sweet little pinot and great place to visit.
