Cute date night at Longrain! We popped in early after the NGV for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve got to say, the service was top notch. Don’t get me wrong, the food was yummy and great, but Fha and Helene took this review from good to great and a solid 5 stars. They catered so well for my dietary requirements( plant based ), checked in with us regularly to make sure we were happy, full and engaged with us during the night. My partner’s favourite was the crispy fish and the lamb ribs seemed to be super popular with most tables ordering them. Definitely check it out if you’re about town ✨

Ambience • The restaurant’s interior is modern and inviting, perfect for both casual and special occasions. • The lively atmosphere adds to the experience, but it’s not too loud, making it suitable for conversations. Pro Tip • Make a Reservation: Tables fill up quickly, even on a Monday evening. We arrived at 6:30 PM and almost didn’t get a table, which was surprising. Booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. In summary, Longrain Melbourne offers delicious food and a great dining environment. It’s a fantastic place to explore unique flavors, but plan ahead and be mindful of portion sizes when ordering.

Great atmosphere & service but unfortunately the food didn’t meet expectations. Roasted rice pork mince lacked flavour & pork. Pork hock was fatty with 2 pieces inedible. Pick of the dishes was the stir fried greens with broccoli which was delicious.

What an amazing establishment. The fit out is rustic but sleek, the menu is elegant and refined. The flavours are amazing. And the staff are such beautiful attentive people!! I brought my wife as a post valentine dinner as we were both busy on the day. We were greeted at the door by Tom. Who showed us to our private little corner that we requested. Then Tom handed over to the very lovely Jilly who with the help of Anika made our date night truly amazing. The drinks came out shaken and beautifully and carefully mixed by the awesome Caffe bartender extraordinaire. We went for Mocktails as we weren’t drinking alcohol. Both mocktails me chose were abosutely amazing. Now the food. We went for the banquet as we were both quite peckish. And as I’m a big eater I thought we might need to order more. I was mistaken as we had to take away a bit of our mains. Outstanding effort from all at Long grain. Thank you so much for a memorable night I have not stopped talking about all day to my friends. Will definitely recommend it to all. Book in though to avoid disappointment. And if you are a drinker sit back and enjoy the ride.

My first visit to Longrain was in 2013. My second was last week. Despite different ownership, the quality of service and food remains very high. It is not surprising that it remains a Melbourne institution. A chef’s banquet menu coming in at under $100 is excellent value and we left feeling very satisfied. One of our party had a birthday and the staff were excellent in making the evening feel special. If you live in Melbourne or are passing through, it’s very unlikely you’ll be disappointed by making this part of your night out.

A nice Thai fusion/ bar style/ fine dining venue with a nice atmosphere for a drink and chat with friends. The Thai food here was quite unique and something you don’t see quite often around Melbourne . The key dish that I really liked was the fried fish. Everything else was good to try but personally a one and done. Glad I came tho :)

Longrain Restaurant offers great service, with friendly and attentive staff who made the experience enjoyable. However, the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. While the flavors were good, some dishes lacked the wow factor I was expecting. It’s a nice spot, but more for the atmosphere and service than the food.

This was our first visit to Longrain to celebrate my dad’s birthday and we had the most exceptional service from Michael, Celia and Dan! From the moment we arrived Michael accommodated our needs to make sure my parents were comfortable. The service from Dan was exceptional as he helped us to order just the perfect amount of food and the food was amazing, every dish was delicious. Celia also made my dad’s birthday so special by bringing out dessert with a sparkling candle. Highly recommend experiencing Longrain if you’ve never had the pleasure. Was pleasantly surprised.
