Yelp
I'm back! Unfortunately, for my first review after a somewhat lengthy Yelp hiatus, I chose a pretty mundane place. Sorry.
Anyway, I have a bright, shiny new job in the Longwood Medical Area now, so my lunchtime options when I forget to be responsible are a bit different. The Galleria features solidly mediocre fare; nothing too terrible, but nothing really amazing to write home about, either.
The Longwood Grille is not much of an exception, unfortunately, but they do have a few advantages over the food court. Namely, the noise. If you've ever been to the Galleria anytime between noon and 1:30 pm, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It's a free-for-all, especailly with the clinical staff rushing to eat before their lunch break ends promptly at 1:00 pm. The Longwood Grille is much quieter and feels more like an actual restaurant.
The food is pretty standard bar fare. Appetizers heavily feature the deep fryer or buffalo sauce, and the ubiquitous nachos. Sandwiches, mini pizzas, wraps, and a few entrees dominate the menu. There is a drink menu, and I've come here after work to unwind with some coworkers.
Longwood Grille is nothing special, and I don't believe it claims to be, either. The aforementioned quiet atmosphere, presence of cloth napkins and real silverware, and place to get a drink puts it a notch or two above its neighbors.
