Was not expecting an actual restaurant to be up here but the food is amazing. The Thai Pumpkin Curry was incredible. Definitely the best curry I've ever had. The fondue was also great and it wasn't too crowded even at lunch time.

If you're looking for an, on-mountain fine dining experience with great food and spectacular views, Lookout Cabin located on the Canyons side of Park City Mountain is the place to go. Recently, I went there with a friend for lunch and walked away wondering why I hadn't gone there before.. It's an intimate restaurant, and exudes charm as soon as you walk in. It's the only on-mountain full service restaurant on Park City Mountain with a full service bar. The bar seats about 12, so get there early if you want to sit at the bar. The inside dining room seats about 125, and the outside patio (weather permitting) seats about 100. The fare being offered by Chef Chris Durfee and his staff is excellent by any culinary standard and exceeds traditional mountain dining by leaps and bounds. Our meal started with a generous portion of fresh oysters on the half shell. We then had the Cloppini which consisted of mussels, calamari, shrimp, fennel in a saffron herb broth served with sourdough bread for dipping. Our next appetizer was the Braised Bison Short Rib Poutine which consists of pickled shishitos, Heber Valley hatch cheese curds, grilled scallions along with a demi glace and red wine. For our main course we had the Horseradish-Honey Glazed Salmon Salad and the Bolognese. The salmon salad, was absolutely delicious and the huckleberry vinaigrette dressing added the perfect touch. The bolognese included home made ricotta which was delicious. The portions were more than ample for each of us even though we shared them. For dessert we split the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake. Being a native New Yorker, I am a tough critic on cheesecake, but this was among the best I've ever tasted. Lookout Cabin is open Thursday to Monday from 11:30 to 2:30 and reservations are required. I can honestly say that the food and service at Lookout Cabin is consistent with the best restaurants in Park City.

Love this place! The Bloody Mary was the best! The bolognese was perfection, the service (Lori and Chef) was so good! Be sure to make a reservation as it filled up quick

Make a reservation if you can, but plenty of folks walked in the day we went too. Food was delicious! Favorite spot on the mountain to dine. They even offered me Gluten-free bread for my fondue.

Stopped in here for lunch with friends while skiing Canyons. While the beverage menu was somewhat limited (they didn’t have any draft beer and half of the canned selections were sold out), the food menu was comprehensive enough and hit all of the standard mountain classics. We shared the fondue and poutine to start, and both were delicious. We then split the chili, daily soup special, and burger. The burger was great and the soups were spot on. The service was quick enough despite us being there during the lunch rush.

Ski in ski out. Nice view on mountains. Call them to make reservation is the best option.

Great place for lunch with good service and good food! Spencer and Misa were great and very attentive! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great view ! Great food! Great drinks! Excellent service! Great Hostess super nice & super sweet Jaybee he will make you feel at home !! my kids loves him BUT horrible Bartender Shannon is by far the rudest and most toxic person I have ever encountered i would not recommend sitting in the bar with her i feel so bad for the other employee that she works with we always see her yell at them as in public humiliation that's an abuse I believe . She shouldn't be working in a place like that if she's gonna be bitter like that

Kenneth T.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Best on mountain eats and service in Park City. We love the food and the team here. JayBee at the host stand will take care of you!!! As will all the staff. Faves include : Fondu, Burger, Poutine and Salmon.

Yelp
This was a lovely place to stop for lunch. It's a sit down restaurant with a great atmosphere- good background music, amazing views. Our server Spencer was a rock star and had good recommendations and was super friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Bloody Mary was the best I've ever had on ski mountain and one of the best period. Burger was perfectly cooked and tasty and fries were crispy. Overall this was the perfect lunch stop on a cold snowy day!

Yelp
Don't know what has happened to this once killer on mountain spot but the limited menu is weak, the service excruciatingly slow and the charm nonexistent. For starters, we ordered mochas that came lukewarm at best. After waiting nearly 45 minutes the cheese fondue arrived lukewarm with some sort of unfamiliar and unappetizing cheese sauce. Then the tofu ramen arrived -lukewarm- extremely salty with rubbery hard noodles. The others in my party complained about the fishy salmon, the burger that tasted the same as the one in the Red Pine Cafeteria, the failure to now offer the once popular truffle Mac n cheese and the rock music playing so loudly you had to shout at each other.

Yelp
One of the only places on the mountain for a cocktail! They were serving up high west specialties and they were tasty. We had the venison shepherd pie and short rib poutine. Both delicious. Make a lunch reservation and give it a try

Yelp
While skiing, I had a sudden crave for steak (I limit red meat intake, but I do respect my cravings when they arise). I looked up Lookout Cabin's online menu while on a chairlift, and the Sous Vide Wagyu Steak invited me to a lunch stop. I called the restaurant, made a reservation, and skied across the resort determined to resolve my craving. The cocktail I ordered, I think it was called Whisky Chai Hot Toddy was incredibly good! I hope they keep it in their menu for years to come. When I was asked for my lunch order, I confidently ordered the Sous Vide Wagyu steak, but I was informed that they only have a Wagyu burger, and they "never had a Wagyu steak on the menu" ( well, see attached screenshot from their online menu as of 2/13/2024 for yourself) nothing else on their limited menu quite appealed to me, and since I was already there I ended up ordering the Chicken Confit. The chicken, beans and kale were prepared to perfection, but sadly the chicken was excessively salty , even for someone who loves salt as much as I do. Yelp doesn't allow me to give them 3.5 stars, so 3 stars it is. I would think that the point of having an online menu is to set proper expectations with patrons about what they can look forward to find in you restaurant. If the online menu cannot be kept up-to-date, then they might as well not even keep it on their website

Yelp
My fave restaurant/bar on the mountain. Went there for lunch just before noon on a weekend, no reservations but they sat us very promptly at the bar. We ordered some drinks. The margarita was delish. Wish I had room for the hot kokopelli..I guess next time. The chili was great and literally came out 5 seconds after we ordered it. Hubby got the chicken pot pie which looked amazing. I got the $31 waguy burger which was tasty..I only deduct a star because there was a hair hanging off the bacon..not cool..but the rest of the experience was great and I would def be back!

Emily M.

Yelp
Despite having a reservation, they weren't able to seat us outside. It's like, thats supposed to be the main attraction. Then the food was bad, it's hard to mess up a burger but they managed. And the bolognese was inedible - the pappardelle was essentially mush. The beef chili was good as were the cocktails. But overall disappointing

Aleah P.

Yelp
If you're choosing a place to eat on the mountain, this place is a MUST!! the food & drinks are OUTSTANDING, the service is great, and there is a great view whether you're sitting inside or outside!

Khaled A.

Yelp
Finally a full service place in the slopes! We made a reservation at 2pm even though we did not need to given the lunch crowd have already left. To find this place you need to leave the orange express halfway. We started out with the daily soup which was cauliflower and cheddar cheese. It was tasty and heavy, food to warm you up. For the main dish we did the honey glazed salmon with baby spinach. Again it was really good. Overall would recommend this place for lunch while skiing in the canyons. I liked it way more the cloud dine. Here are my ratings: Cauliflower and cheddar cheese soup: 8/10 Honey glazed salmon with baby spinach: 8/10

Yelp
For sure the best ski-in restaurant in Park City. I have been coming here for several years and it is always excellent, but you should have reservations to guarantee a seat. The hot alcohol drinks are a warm treat for an afternoon break from skiing, the food is always amazing and the service is outstanding. The last time I was there I had a simple burger but is was far superior to the other options on the mountain and this is a real treat compared to the mob scene at the other ski lodges.

Emme P.

Yelp
Lookout Cabin is a very fun, higher end restaurant to go to while skiing! During spring skiing, when the sun is shining, you can sit on the deck with a beautiful view!

Jaime L.

Yelp
I ordered the Utah Poutine which was disappointing. The whole idea of poutine is to get those cheese curds to melt with the gravy and fries. But at Lookout Cabin they had fried the cheese in some way so that it was completely separate. Also, some of the fries were undercooked. Yuck. My wife's salmon was tasty but barely seared... as in almost raw. That's obviously not a big deal and is easily remedied. Overall it was a disappointing lunch. Maybe an anomaly?

Andrea R.

Yelp
Ok, let's start by acknowledging that this is the only place on the entire mountain where you can get an actual cocktail. My favorite thing to do when you've been skiing all morning is to warm up with a boozy coffee - not a beer, but a delicious Boozy coffee with a dollop of whipped cream. I repeat, this is the ONLY place on the mountain to procure one of these delicious beverages!! The bartender (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name!!! Michael maybe? I'm the worst.) made me 2 delicious surprise concoctions, neither of which was overly creamy or overly sweet - really impressive boozy coffee making skills. Moving on, the food is incredible. This is NOT like other restaurants on the mountain - this is an upscale dining experience with views that are out of this world. (You need reservations most days.) They have a wagyu burger that was truly on point. I try really hard not to eat French fries...but I couldn't resist the ones that come with this burger. We also had the salmon salad - THANK YOU to the chef who doesn't over-dress a salad! Usually salads are doused in dressing and I get hella annoyed - this one was just right. The salmon was cooked perfectly as well! Last, we had the pork belly. Um...wow. I'm not even going to say anything else. Just wow. Order this, you'll understand. DJ (the restaurant manager) is also amazing - he does an awesome job running this place.

Yelp
Take the orange bubble express, get off midway, and you'll end up at a wonderful lunch spot on the mountain. In theory, you should also be able to get here by skiing down from further up, but we tried a couple of times and somehow always missed a turn and ended up at the bottom instead. We stopped around 1/1:30 on a Friday and, while it was pretty busy, there were no waits. We actually asked to sit outside because the sun was quite warm and the views are A+. Decided to split the hushpuppies appetizer and the chicken and salami panini between the two of us. This was definitely enough food. They split the sandwich and fries for us on different plates so I think we may have ended up with more fries than we should have. The sandwich was good, not great. I think anyone with a panini press could have easily replicated. The hushpuppies were great though! Would've been happy enough with an order of those for myself, tbh. While neither of us ordered drinks, I did overhear that this is the only place in the whole resort serving alcohol rather than just beer. The prices are higher, but they're higher literally everywhere on every mountain in the world. Just is what it is. It's an expensive sport in more ways than one. Service was very friendly. Things definitely got busier as we were having lunch (the outside tables completely filled up) and I noticed the manager helping out by taking orders at a few tables. He also stopped by ours and other tables to make sure we were happy with everything. If you're not in the mood for food, they also had a few fire pits surrounded by adirondack style chairs on their patio. Would be great to take a break, sit with a drink, and enjoy the view! The only way to get down from Lookout Cabin is via blue or black runs. If like me, you are a pretty average skier, I'm going to warn you that the blues are on the harder side. They are steeper and narrower than many of the other blues on both the Canyons and Park City sides. Just a heads up! (We took Doc's Run, perhaps the other blue--Upper Lookout Ridge--is a bit easier?) Finally, I've noticed a few reviews on here and TripAdvisor mention a smell coming from the bathrooms/sewage. Neither of us noticed this problem so maybe it just doesn't exist anymore.

Michael P.

Yelp
Great find on the last day of our ski trip & is now our favourite place for lunch in Canyons. Table service was very friendly & efficient & dealt with my wife's tricky dietary requirements well. My cheese fondue was excellent & my wife's salmon was perfectly done. Dessert was a very different type of cheesecake which was still very tasty. They also make a mean Bloody Mary. Make sure you book if you can. We will be back.

Devon M.

Yelp
Lookout Cabin has always been a highlight of my Canyons trip. I know things are difficult during COVID, but my experience today was unbelievably disappointing. The menu was limited to 4 items, which was a surprise. The soda was flat. The food came out in stages and half of it was cold. The staff was friendly but actually seemed embarrassed. I probably will never come here again which makes me sad.

Sarah L.

Yelp
I went to this Lookout Cabin almost a year ago, it was so good that I'm still compelled to write a review about it! This was the best place I ate while my stay in Park City. I would highly recommend! I got the steak sandwich and immediately inhaled it. The meat was succulent, cooked perfectly and contrasted well with crunchiness from the veggies. This was exactly what the doctor ordered after a snowboarding day. I love how the kitchen was in the middle, it's different . By doing this, I feel that it shows how efficient the kitchen is. Willingness to show customers their practices, really show their competency in the kitchen. Our server Angela, was AMAZING. We had a bit too much to drink and she organized alternate transportation to get down (being that we didn't want to snowboard down drunk). All in all, really great and attentive service (although, must mention that we were the only table there at the time), amazing aura, awesome kitchen, and most importantly, really delicious food with lots of variety. This place is a MUST GO!

Shawn P.

Yelp
The lobster bisque was pretty good.....but that's where it ends. While the location offers a great view of the Canyons and truly is the best place to sit for a a meal on the mountain. You can get the same views skiing and have better cuisine at Tombstone or Miners Camp. I don't mind an expensive on mountain meal (I've eaten at expensive locations in Whistler, Vail, Aspen, etc) but the food was really bad. $200 (including tip) for two.....for pretty poor quality / bad tasting food. I should also add a comment on the service: not kidding, 30 mins for a glass of wine. The bus boy / man pouring water was on point though! I should have just tipped him directly.

Bill M.

Yelp
Best place to eat lunch on the mountain! We went here two days in a row for lunch (be sure to make a reservation!). Great atmosphere and all the food hits the spot after a morning of skiing. The cheese fondue is highly recommended as an appetizer. The Mac n'cheese is excellent, as is the wagyu burger, chicken panini, salmon salad, and chicken salad. For drinks: blood orange margarita is superb. Also try the snow globe and the insane coffee before returning to the slopes.

John L.

Yelp
I've been visiting Lookout Cabin fairly regularly over the past 15+ years. I initially really liked the place (see my original review). However, I've noticed that the food has become more mediocre and the service has become horribly slow. The last time I visited (1/26/19), I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a beer and about 1 1/2 hours for a bowl of chili. If you are on the mountain to ski, this really chews up your day. If you aren't on the mountain to ski, there are much better alternatives at the base.

Claire S.

Yelp
My father, my boyfriend and I came into the Lookout cabin for lunch at 2:30 and were rudely told by the hostess they were closed for lunch. No other options were given to us: for example, that they actually serve a simpler menu in the bar until 3pm. Their website says they are open until 3:30. I spoke with my Dad and went back to ask the hostess if at least we could sit in the bar or order a drink and sit outside. Again, no helpfulness at all about food options or where we should sit. Baffled, we entered the bar and found an empty table. We sat at a table we thought was in the bar and were told by the manager that we were not allowed to sit there. He also shamed me that we sat ourselves and were rude to his unhelpful hostess. A more gracious manager would have said. "I'm sorry but this section of the restaurant is closed. Do you mind sitting at one of the bar tables that has just opened? I hear you are interested in lunch. Our kitchen is more limited after 2:30 but we do have some options for you." Unfortunately that was not what he said. We seated ourselves at another bar table and learned from the polite busboy - the busboy - not the manager or hostess- that some food options are actually served until 3pm. We then were helped properly and well from the great bartender from Georgia. She should be managing The Lookout Cabin, not the manager on duty Friday afternoon February 20th. Did the manager want to go home early and close so he could go skiing? The place was full and plenty busy at 2:30. What a shame Park City Mountain Resort has that man representing and running this restaurant.

Mor R.

Yelp
Came here with friends after a long day of skiing, and we were hungry! Ordered fondue as an appetizer which was delicious and the stuffed bell pepper as the main course. The bell pepper cost $19 and was literally a single small stuffed bell pepper. I had to ask for the extra bread to try and fill up. When I told the waitress that they should warn folks about the small size of the dish she thanked me and walked away. An apology would have been nice, or at least asking if there is anything that could have been done, especially since it was a $19 dish for one small stuffed bell pepper. I'm glad we got the appetizer but it was a ridiculous experience for the price!

Liz R.

Yelp
Best on-mountain lunch spot; this is not your typical slide the plastic tray around and decide which fried in grease food you will consume before hitting the slope again. The food is great - the drinks are phenomenal. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I suggest the hush puppies, the burger and the chili. Sometimes the kitchen gets backed up - because it is pretty small (and in the middle of the dining area so you can watch them cook). The bar is always a great place to sit too - Toby, the bartender is super nice and really good at multitasking (talking and making drinks at the same time). Be sure to grab a seat on the deck of its a sunny day.

KT Tershowski I.

Yelp
Came here with family and friends. A true hidden gem overlooking the canyons and park city. It's hard to get to if you're not a skier - you have to take the Orange bubble express and get off midway. And from the looks of it, it doesn't necessarily catch the eye. They have an outdoor patio area - which was beautiful, especially with 50 degree weather. The nachos were amazing - on special and the Mac and cheese with bacon was delish. Very friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend this place - what an awesome experience!

Matthew P.

Yelp
Best on mountain restaurant that I have ever been to. They take reservations so plan ahead. We had the pork belly and the panini. Pretty good! Tomorrow we are totally coming back to get the burger. It just looks ridiculous and we must try it!

Bob M.

Yelp
Had a great time with a crew from Virginia....food was outstanding and the drinks were better!

Jeff B.

Yelp
We dined at lookout cabin on New Year's Day. We ordered the chicken bao which we had 1 week earlier and loved it. The first time they brought the dish to our table the chicken inside the steamed buns was still frozen. I took a bite and had to leave it in my napkin. They took them back and offered to redo order. The second time the chicken was not frozen in the sandwich but not warm. They again served us chicken steamed buns that had cold chicken in steamed bun The compensation they gave to us was to not charge us for the steamed buns that we did not eat. Neither the manager or chef came to our table. I am now concerned about food poisoning as they do not understand serving temperature. Vail should be embarrassed by the chef and manager at Lookout cabin. We are locals and have sent many people to lookout cabin.

Brent F.

Yelp
Of course the best part is the location and view. Staff is typically good, but we have had some not so friendly encounters. Food is overpriced but that's what you expect on the mountain. Overall the food is good, burger is great. Again, go for the view alone and a drink.

Procter F.

Yelp
The Lookout Cabin at the Canyons Resort represents the very best lunch I have ever had a ski resort. The location of such an exceptional restaurant (for ski resorts which are typically notoriously known for medicore food) is half way up the Orange Bubble Lift. The exterior is fairly unassuming and one would be hard pressed to guess at the quality of food that they serve. Our initial reaction upon entering the restaurant was an uneasy feeling that we were about to get ripped off given the table cloth, waiters, cutlery, wine but it actually turned out to be the best meal we have had over the last three years that we have been visiting Park City. In fact, I would go as far to say that the food here is actually far better than the majority of the restaurants down in Park City. All of the food we tried was at least well above average to excellent which included the Rocky Mountain Fondue, short rib ragout, flank steak salad. The lunch was so leisurely, particuarly sitting out on their deck during an exceptionally warm January day that we even opted to have the deserts of bread pudding and brownie sundae which were also memorable and worth trying. Total cost for two people was about $100 which also included the tip. It's important to point out that this was all cooked several thousand feet on the side of a mountain making the food all the more remarkable. Good food, great atmosphere, amazing scenery and fantastic service really make this a must eat if you happen to be skiing The Canyons.

Shelby S.

Yelp
Ummmm. A restaurant in the middle of the mountain? Yes. We totally walked in expecting the usual ski food fare- fried everything, re-heated pizza and boiled burgers. Not here. Full service with a chef-created menu. The food is amazing for a ski lodge, but not that great for a restaurant. A lot of the meat was sub-par and fatty.

Gregory S.

Yelp
For food on a mountain, I have yet to have better than the lookout. I've been eating here for about 6-7 years. It started out fantastic then had a couple mediocre years, but I am happy to say they are back in full swing and the service and food are once again outstanding. I ate here three time last week. The chicken confit with Brussels sprouts was delicious. Buffalo chili was OK. I cannot review this place 5 stars because their entry way smells like a sewer. This began 2-3 years ago and is clearly linked to the adjoining bathrooms. I feel awful for the poor souls who have to use that bathroom daily. Even the most artfully prepared food cannot get a 5 star review when every few bites you get a not so faint whiff of a$$ to go with it.

karen b.

Yelp
The food was frickin awesome but they have a serious septic issue! I had to use th ladies room ampnd the smell was so BAD, I almost puked! Everyone in my party was seriously grossed out! The food is great but fix your issues! It's disgusting!

James S.

Yelp
Friendly serve. Best on-slope dining at the Canyons ( and vs other resorts we've been at). Hearty gourmet options like the Wagyu burger and salmon spinach salad. Fries were overdone. Bathroom smells. Otherwise would've given it 5 stars.

Harriet C.

Yelp
This years skiing at the Canyons is the best in the last 15 years. The experience was made perfect in large part due to our lunches at Lookout Cabin. Chef Aly is creative, sources the freshest ingredients, has great presentation without being ostentatious and everything is delicious! But the desserts, that is where the magic comes to life! My taste buds are still dancing a happy dance. Eat here!

Kristi P.

Yelp
It's our favorite spot on the mountain! Great food and their Bloody Mary is delicious!

Samantha S.

Yelp
What incredible service! Dave and Mike took great care of my friend and I while we took a break from skiing the slopes at Canyons. The food was prepared perfectly! Thanks guys we had a great afternoon eating lunch and sipping coffee.
