Yelp
Fantastic view, great food, great service
My wife and I recently went to Hot Springs on an overnight stay. We didn't want to stay at a chain hotel and decided on Lookout Point. We enjoy B&Bs, but this was a cross between a B&B and a hotel - more like a boutique hotel.
It was difficult to choose between the 16 beautiful rooms. Tiffany checked us in - like she had already done for so many other guests over the Fourth of July weekend. She was very gracious as she explained that breakfast would be delivered to our room, told us about the complimentary cookies (very tasty) and soft drinks, as well as the access to the canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats available for our use during out stay. Although my wife is not handicapped, she was having difficulty going up and down the main stairs. When I approached the Front Desk, they willingly worked to accommodate access to our room; a much-appreciated act of kindness.
We stayed in the Calico Rock room on the Ground Floor with walk-out access to a small porch with 2 rocking chairs and an excellent view of the lake. It was very peaceful. They are outdoor hammocks (double hammocks), outdoor chairs and benches plus a fantastic view of the lake and all the boats passing by.
Although we didn't need all the features, our room was quite Accessible, including the Shower. Our shower could easily accommodate a wheelchair and included a height adjustable showerhead and a full body shower experience; a nice feature for everyone actually.
At first, the bed seemed as if it would be too soft. Nope. We both enjoyed a nice, comfortable nights sleep. Our room even had a full-size twin bed, so 3 people can easily sleep in this room.
What a tasty breakfast we enjoyed - served in our room due to COVID at the time we visited. From the Peach fruit smoothie to the excellent Omelet Roulade (my favorite) with ham, cheddar, Dijon and onion, to the well-seasoned potatoes and house made Blueberry muffin. All washed down with Orange-Cranberry juice and Kuerig coffee. Even though the potatoes were cold (hard to keep hot in room service) they provided Jalapeño sauce to enhance the flavor. Overall a delicious breakfast to round out our stay.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the scenery out our window was great and we had a wonderful time. If you're tired of staying in chain hotels, "break the chain" and take a look at all Lookout Point has to offer when you plan your next trip to, or through, Hot Springs.
