Lots of beers on tap. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but they had Odin's Beard. Pretty good stuff. I was out for work, visiting the bridge.

This place is badass! What I consider a local gem and definitely needs to be a must hit if you're in the area. You don't find places like this very often.

I would like to thank Matt Kavan, from Loony's Brew, for his great generosity when hosting our 45th class reunion. Also, all his staff for being so great the food was amazing and the bartenders had smiling faces and great wit. We had a great view and a great time. Not to forget Jeff McHarg for the great music. If you're looking for a venue, this is a great place. I highly recommend it.

3 level deck to sit on the side of the Marina enjoying the view, the breeze, the company and Loony's totally fun extensive list of craft beers by the glass or by the growler. Totally the place to hangout! Dog friendly. We loved our beers and left with two pints. Small food menu allows you to munch while sampling creative beers. I recommend the blueberry coriander, the Lost Bay IPA, and the jalapeño. Service is great, laid back and inviting.

Came all the way up from Minneapolis to visit Loony's pub. Dylan was our beer tender. Very friendly and wonderful to talk to! Perfect view of Rainy lake also.I recommend the peach apricot beer. And the Cuban pizza was phenomenal!! I'll definitely be back.

Good place for a few drinks and live entertainment for sure! It was very busy in here when we were here. Although the service was quick and efficient the decor was interesting! There wasn’t too many options for seating. Lots to entertain you and friends while you’re here though with live entertainment, a game of pool and more! It could use a little up keep but over all if you are here for a few brews pub style I’m sure it will do just fine!

Chill spot to enjoy a drink or two or three with a nice view of the lake!

Yelp
Loony's Brew is a laid back dive bar / pub located in the quaint village town of Ranier, Minnesota. To be more precise about Ranier, MN, it's situated right beside the once bustling industrial town of International Falls, MN...just 3 miles away. And, lol, in the bigger picture of it all, if you're visiting International Falls, MN, you're most likely in this remote part of Northern Minnesota exploring Voyageurs National Park. That's where it started for me. I had just completed time at Voyageurs NP and while speaking with a representative at the International Falls Chamber of Commerce, they recommended stopping here at Loony's Brew. Once in Ranier, parking was difficult, but I found a spot across the train tracks. I didn't mind walking 10 minutes over to Loony's as it gave me insight into what made Ranier unique...definitely a small town/local vibe as if I had stepped back in time. Loony's appearance on the outside reminded me of a simple summerhouse cottage along the waterfront with a dock in the backyard for accessing Rainy Lake. Overall, it's like staying at a lake house in the countryside. Although there's no official sign for customers to know they've arrived at Loony's Brew, there's a wooden post hanging by the entrance with a message stating...."PUB, BEER, FOOD, WINE, GOOD TIMES". Loony's has a playful/old fashioned bar kind of feel. You could sense the owners knew the specific tone they wanted to provide for patrons. The bar has an assortment of homegrown, locally brewed beers on tap....According to their website, they feature - "American, Hoppy, Belgian, Stouts & Porters, Fruits, Gruits, Lagers, NAs, and Barleywines". Loony's is decorated with classic guitars, vintage license plates and loads of symbolic mementos dedicated to their history. There's a back/rear section area featuring a billiards table, jukebox and dartboard. Situated all around are high-top tables and chairs. Plus, there's a small corner for showcasing local bands and musical acts. I ordered a beer, took it outside and walked across the street to the Brew Deck Bar area for enjoying views of Sand Bay beside Rainy Lake. The setting was pleasantly quiet. There's even a little pier where you can walk towards a rustic lighthouse. Overall, Loony's Brew is a worthwhile place to come after your discoveries at Voyageurs National Park. It's a no hassle, no fuss brewery that embodies the blue-collar town of Ranier, MN.

Yelp
Great 'dive' bar and brewery with a selection that will tickle anyone's fancy. The staff and regulars made it a great stop.

Yelp
The perfect spot just a few miles east of International Falls, MN. Delightful town of 589 people. Go and have a drink and a pizza and sit by Rainy Lake. We loved it.

Yelp
I was on the area and stopped in to get a growler to go before heading home. The atmosphere looks like it would be a fun place to party and they have a bunch of beer on tap they make as well as cocktails available. They have two wonderful decks to enjoy the great weather looking at rainy lake. I didn't enjoy the beer we took home as it was flat but I will try this place again next time I'm up there.

Yelp
Very cool spot to grab a beer and soak up some local color. They have a great selection of fruit beers. Bartender was super friendly. Definitely recommend if you're passing through International Falls.

Yelp
Have you guys been to Ranier?? If not, please go. Loony's is amazing. They have a spot right on the water with both inside and outside service. They brew tons of beer in house--there is truly something for everyone. This IS a brewery, not just a pub, for all of you beer snobs (myself included). We trThis place is worth a stop. Please come and support them--they definitely deserve it!!

Yelp
This place has a fantastic location, right on the water however I really really wish the beer was better. I've had a flight that I couldn't get through because the brewer got a little too creative with his flavor profiles which were not very good. I'm here again having a flying squirrel amber and it came out with 0 head and as you can see in the picture it has no lacing at all. This is beer 101 people. You should probably check your priming sugar levels. The flavor was meh, last time I was here I tasted cleaning agents. Out of 5 Look = 2 due to no head or lacing, cloudy Smell = 2 light malty but not much, again most likely because of the lack of head Taste = 2 malty with a touch of sweet Feel = 2 medium bodied

Yelp
Are you prepared for something different? This beer is unique and enjoyable, much like the atmosphere. We really enjoyed our time here and if we lived closer it would definitely be a favorite hangout. The server was very personable and fun to talk to. They also serve liquor and domestic beer if you're not into the craft beer scene. The beer is unfiltered and has very unique flavors going on. Our favorites were the Hoppy Folly IPA and the Stubborn Moose Dry Stout. Well worth a stop. They also have some food options like caviar and pizza, which we did not indulge in.

Yelp
Great spot on the lake with a large patio and a live band on Fridays. Offers 5 taps, one for every taste. Very unique venue.

Yelp
Awesome beer and wine selection. Close to I Falls, but on Rainy Lake. Live music often.. always have a fun time here.

Yelp
A small local pub with a better than average (by local standards) selection of beer and wine. Typically 5 different beers on tap served up in a nice frosty mug plus the requisite bottles and cans. Limited food selection - some frozen pizza, etc. which isn't bad but it is a frozen pizza baken in an oven. Occasional special offerings with soup, sandwiches, etc. Woody's is located adjacent to a public boat landing dock on scenic Rainy Lake with nice views on the deck in warm weather. The decor inside is an interesting collection of stuffed animals and mounted fish along with a model airplane and some entertaining signs with clever sayings. Come here for a nice cold beer, the ambiance, some local flavor and enjoy the free peanuts, some great conversation and maybe a game of electronic darts with Brian.
