Lopud island, charming and laid-back, boasts a lovely promenade lined with cafes, restaurants serving delicious local seafood, and a few boutique shops. You can explore historical sites like the Franciscan Monastery and enjoy the lush botanical garden.

Lopud is a Beautiful island promenade of cafes, bakeries & restaurants plus a local shops. It has a Franciscan Monastery and botanical garden. You can travel across the island via golf buggy service which was efficient and worth the €3 per person. Lovely beaches, ferry service from Dubrovnik was excellent value!

A beautiful island off the Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea and near to Dubrovnik. This no car allowed Island is a little gem, with panoramic views across the sea to the mainland and beyond. The island is home to a small number of residents, with a fantastic 4* hotel (The Lafodia), a number of small guest accommodations and pensions. There are small mini market facilities and several lovely restaurants on the island and it even has its own fort looking out over the island from where you can get a 360° view. For the sun worshipers there is a fantastic sandy beach on the south end of the island but the walk back up the hill is quite steep. Remember to take some cash with you as not everyone takes card payments and you can get a golf cart to and from the beach for 3€ per person each way. The beach has a great bar selling food and drinks and if you buy a drink you get to use the sunbeds free of charge.

Lovely little island. Great for a couple of days break but everything was really expensive.

I loved it, beautiful island and nature, it is quite big, we went down from the ferry in the south part, where the entrance of the national park is.
I highly recommend to rent a bike for the day, you will have de freedom of moving everywhere.
By water because it is hard to find places to buy food or water around.

I absolutely loved this island ♡ We spent 4 nights at the Lafodia Hotel and loved every minute. Great food although is not very diverse, beautiful views and many activities to do outdoors. I have to say the sunset is as spectacular as Santorini's ;).

This island is a hidden gem about 1 hour away from Dubrovnik by ferry. It's nice to stay here for a few days without any cars. There are some accommodation, restaurants and small shops.
Some things to improve: change the golf cars to more environmental friendly (and less stinky) vehicles, clean up the beaches and place more waste bins along the streets.
It's a pity that there are many ruined houses even on the main promenade. But overall a lovely place for a holiday!

Lovely sandy beach and vibrant cafe scene with the team busily bringing food and drink to you at your table. The only sandy beach we have found so far and made a welcome change from the usually pebble beaches seen elsewhere near Dubrovnik. Take sand shoes as extremely hot to walk on
