I live in Montreal but was in town visiting. I had dinner here and it was AMAZING. I eat out once a week in Montreal, and this is a great meal that I haven't had in awhile. The flavour profile and attention to detail was amazing. Also great service! Highly recommend.

We stopped by for lunch not having any idea what quality of food to expect. To our absolute delight, the trout with lemon sauce on rice with vegetables was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The desserts were equally impressive! This was the best meal we had on our trip to Quebec and we had many delicious ones. Our blond waitress who has been serving for many years was such a hard worker and very friendly. Our hats off to Orange Bistrot!

Service by staff was fine but I have never spent $129.00 for a terrible cold frozen burger meat and not hand made fresh meat burger. The Swiss cheese was not melted and the size and thickness of a credit card. I sent the first burger back as it was actually cold. The frys had grated cheese, not cheese curds on them. In Quebec, in the cheese district, it should be against the law. Who serves red wine that was chilled not room temperature. My wife had the frozen chicken on a bun and very substandard as well. I saved the receipt to prove I ordered it. We should have walked out but I told the waitress with an tip it was not her fault. That is what they gave her to serve. Shameful on management Jamie

Delicious meal served outdoors on their heated covered patio. Very good menu with something for everyone and the service was very attentive and friendly. We liked it so much, we actually ate here 2 nights in a row.

Delicious breakfast, excellent service. We had Eggs Benedict (eggs were perfect) and a cheese and bacon omelette (also excellent). Definitely go again.

Stayed at Gite CoeurOrange house. Very comfortable. Extremely clean. Easy to come and go. Breakfasts are included over at the Orange Bistro, so this makes is a fantastic place to stay. The only thing that it could benefit from would be a water cooler of some sort as there is no sink in the dining/kitchen area.

We stayed at L'Orange Bistro for 2 nights. Our room was in the Coeur du Loup building a short walk from the restaurant. Super clean, well appointed room. We ate 1 supper and both our breakfasts at the restaurant and they were really good. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Yelp
If you want a big satisfying breakfast this is a good option. Nothing to rock your world but if you need to be fortified for a day of touring the sites this can check off the box. I had the ham and cheese and salmon omletes on separate occasions. Coffee could be better

Yelp
We did takeout for breakfast and it was very good. Cheese omelette and veggie omelette were good (veggies included string beans, onions, bell peppers, zucchini, and carrots, so not a traditional veggie mix). The toast came buttered and was super yummy with the jam. The bagel was on the smaller size but still good. Would recommend the crepes, they came with a lot of fresh fruit and condensed milk over the top.

Yelp
This place is the biggest joke of a restaurant there is. It shouldn't even be qualified to be a restaurant because I don't believe they have a chef. We got there for a late lunch and the menu was so limited that basically the only option of a meal they had was spaghetti, very plain and soggy French fries, a vegetable soup without any vegetable that tasted horrible (please see picture below), nachos without any cheese (literally some Doritos with tiniest plastic containers of salsa, sour cream and guacamole, Bloody Mary tasted like plain tomato juice With ice I doubt that had any alcohol. The waitresses were all terrible and rude, if I could I would give no star. Don't waste your time even Mac Donald's is better and definitely cheaper hat this place! It looks good from the outside though !

Yelp
Arrived at lunch on a cold winters day and the place was quiet. One server so we almost left, but someone already seated said to hang on because the food was good. So we ended up seating ourselves. Finally the waitress, who was doing her best with little help came and helped us out. We ended up ordering raclette - first time for me. The waitress brought over the raclette contraption and a big hunk of cheese which we scraped off onto pieces of warm fresh bread, potatoes and slices of meat. Can't go wrong with that much good local cheese.

Yelp
Having just spent 6 nights in the area, we tried as many restaurants as we could while we were there. On one of those nights, we went to l'Orange Bistro. RESERVATION NEEDED? SURE To play it safe, we called about an hour before we went to ensure they would have space and made a reservation. When we got there, the place was pretty full for a Monday night with only a few tables empty for walk-ins. As such, a reservation was a good thing. However, on our last night in town which was a Thursday and which one would assume would be busier than a Monday, it was pretty quiet. FOOD? HIT AND MISS All restaurant reviews come down to how good the food is. At l'Orange Bistro, this really seems to come down to what you order. For an appetizer, I started with their Migneron Fondant which I really, really enjoyed. So essentially, the meal started on a good step. However, my main dish, which was a daily special (grilled deer or moose meat?), was over cooked and not remarkable in the least. For the missus, it was the opposite with her not enjoying her appetizer much but I believe she enjoyed her main meal more. So, it seems there is quite the disparity in how good the menu items are. If you happen to choose well, you can be in for a treat. But there is a risk you may choose things that aren't as tasty. (Though of course, tasty for one doesn't necessarily mean tasty for others). SERVICE? DEFINITELY MORE OF A MISS There were a few elements that we disliked with our service. The first was that it wasn't attentive in that we had to wait long periods of time to get our servers attention. Our server also did not check with us after our meals were served to ensure everything was correct. To top if off, when it came time for coffee, we asked for decaf which we were advised they only had as 'espresso' which they could do with hot water. As this is the norm for the area and in Quebec City, we said that was fine. She dropped the coffee off but never brought milk or cream and as she disappeared, after waiting a couple of minutes I finally went in and got my own milk. Also, as coffee was included in the meal (table d'hote) she didn't tell us they charge extra to have it as espresso which we found out when we got the bill. It was only a $1 more but we contested it because she didn't advise us of it before hand. She wouldn't change the bill so in exchange for that we simply dropped her tip by that amount. All in all, the service was definitely lacking. Some of it may be due to how busy it was and not having enough staff, but some of it definitely comes down to just not having enough focus on customer service. PRICE Dinner for two with wine was about $90 with tax and before tip. Their web site has their prices but they are not correct. I believe the web site says the table d'hote charge is + $13 when they actually charge you +$14.50 to your main meal. PARKING? IN THE SUMMER MONTHS, GO FOR THE SCHOOL PARKING! There are a few onstreet parking spots which are limited to 30 minutes. There is also a paid parking lot across the street for $5. But if you are visiting in the summer months, park in the school parking lot which is right next to the restaurant. There is a 'P' sign on the street to note it and you can park there for the day for free. --- So, would I got back? If both my appetizer and main dishes would have been bad, I definitely would say no and have given them 2 stars for both bad food and bad service. But as one dish was good, I would probably try something else if I were to return. However, if you are only in town for a night or two, I would suggest one of the other restaurants where you will probably have better luck.

Yelp
Oh my, not great at all. Warm Chardonnay. Poke what? Never been to Hawaii I'm sure. Old rice and smoked salmon etc that has nothing to do with poke. Gazpacho ok. Individually package saltines perfect.

Yelp
There aren't that many restaurants that open late in this area during low season. We were in town for a two-day ski trip at Le Massif de Charlevoix. By the time we come back from our ski day, shower, relax a little bit.... all the restaurants (except pubs) were closed! (This was end of March) So we thought we'll try L'orange Bistro. Why not. They were opened late! When we entered, we were presented to this club-like bar with blue lighting. But to the left is where the actual restaurant is. The bar is, in fact, a part of this restaurant as well. You are welcome to sit awkwardly with the bartender. The restaurant on the other hand has very dim lighting, small tables, very romantic. We had amazing service!!! But it sort of ends here... We had the duck fondue "Fondue de canard" (where we dip duck meat and veggies into a hot pot of gravy and onion soup). The soup was quite nice, there was a generous amount of duck meat! The veggies had a LOT of vinegar. Overall the dish was alright, a tad disappointing. $39.95 for two They have beers on tap! (that club bar!)

Yelp
We made a reservation a few hours beforehand and had a wonderful raclette meal. It was cozy with a fire going. Great atmosphere, great service, fabulous local cheese, and one of our favourite Canadian wines (Tawes of Niagara, ON) - we would highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We were served "Raw" pork! When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she became bellicose and informed us that's how it's supposed to be eaten - RAW! We're not sure what training she has had, but pork is supposed to be cooked, no exception! The waitress was belligerent and the chef couldn't be bothered to apologize or at least explain this mistake. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until I see a "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" sign.

Yelp
We were seated. We were asked for our drink order, but since we did not order fast enough the server offered to give us a minute and generously gave us many more. She did finally look over at us as we walked away. Maybe on a different night, it would have been a better experience. But I wouldn't know . . . BECAUSE I WALKED OUT.

Yelp
Excellent lunch on the terrace. Good service, good menu. If weather does not permit inside is full of atmosphere.
