Lord & Villa Bakery

Huge bakery with tons of selection. They are famous for their napoleon’s and for good reason. They have lots of cakes and other pastries that are delicious and good value. Plenty of other treats and candy too. The berry tart was very tasty and perfectly sweet. You get a 4% discount if you pay with cash.

One of the best pastry shops with excellent quality, fresh products, great organization and cleanliness, and a wide variety. The only downside is the parking.

I wish I could give them zero star for the customer service. And I tried their triangle chocolate roulette and it was terrible. They don't deserve your money and time.

Very disappointed. The tiramisu cake used to be the best cake in this bakery. However, now I can't even give a rating to it. There is no sponge cake in it; it's all cream. To prove this, there is a picture to see the cake. The coffee flavor is very weak and I can say there's no rum in it. It tastes awful, and ruined my birthday. I don't think I'm going to buy from here anymore.

Most of baked goods are not backed properly. They taste old an awful. There are far better most tasty bakeries in Glendale. Visit them instead. Awfull is the word.

Quite big inside. Lots of delicious pastries but they would only sell to me by the pound instead of by the pierce. I only wanted a tiramisu slice but they wanted to sell by the pound

A good friend of mine always brings our family sweet treats from Lord & Villa Bakery. I finally got the chance to stop by the bakery in person. Lord & Villa Bakery are known for their Custard Napoleon and different kinds of butter cookies from my understanding. We love their COCONUT MACAROONS - the best. Service is friendly so ask for recommendations, if it's your first time here.

Every time there's a birthday at my work, they go and get the cake from this bakery Today was my birthday and they bought me a pistachio cake : so fresh, moist, and so delicious‼

Abundant selection of unique cakes, pastries, cookies, and coffee. The displays are clean, well-lit, and easy to browse, which makes the whole place feel welcoming and polished. I believe this store and other stores who charge extra if one purchase with credit card should be banned. What is this? I pay extra cause I don't have cash on me and want to pay by my credit card? Is your business hiding sales from IRS?

This place is amazing for their Napoleon, but they are extremely expensive and most of the time the pastries are old. The service is improved over time, recently I purchased what I ordered was potato pickets and I was given cheese. Maybe have a better system to separate cheese from potato

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. EXTREMELY RUDE !! They help whoever they feel like first they don't care if you came in before them & the cashier will argue back and forth with you .

I picked up their Christmas log, it was absolutely delicious and beautiful decorated. They also have the best napoleon's in Glendale, the selection of the Persian sweets are amazing. I definitely recommend this bakery, they have been here for many years and never disappointed in the quality of their food.

I iquired if the cream puffs were fresh and the cashier said yes. Then she rang me up at $3.50 per cream puff. I asked the cashier why the price was so high as these used to cost $1 before. She said they were from France. I then questioned her why she said the cream puffs were freshly baked at their bakery? She said that "certain parts - like the filling" was from France. That is deceitful. If one goes a bakery the expectation is that the items are fresh baked. They were served on a baking tray. I bought the three to try them out and it ended up giving me heart burn - I only get heart burn from old food. So, not fresh! How hard it is to bake something fresh - it requires a few ingredients to make fresh baked goods. Also, I asked if they serve fresh coffee and they didnt. What is the point of running a bakery that has nothing fresh? The cashier then went on to lecture to me that everything costs more and that prices will go up due to the tariffs. Now the last thing I need is to be lectured about economics by a cashier who could not afford to get her front teeth filled and had obvious rotten teeth - appetizing!

The best Napoleon I've ever had. Get the full sheet, trust me. The service is good. The overall space is good. Not the biggest place but very good

It didn't taste good. The creme brulee was soggy. Overall, it wasn't fresh. Neither were the truffle desserts. Waste of money.

When I think of Lord & Villa, I think of the best napoleons... To me they are the standard. Just perfect. It's slightly crisp on the outside with its delicate puff pastry then filled with sweet pastry creme and topped with powdered sugar. That's it. Simple and great. Mille-feuille perfection. I worked at a nearby hospital for almost 15 years and every time a patient of ours went to Lord & Villa, chances are they were buying us a box of napoleons. We loved that and were so appreciative... I actually should say napoleon without the "s" because that now $24 box is one big napoleon that you cut to serve. It's genius. It's always been that way. I do think the current price is a little high but we still bought one a few weeks ago... You can buy a single serving size but trust you'll want the box. I cant even tell you how much the single serving is, because I've never ordered it. Another good item to get at Lord & Villa is the apricot pie ($12). Makes for a great snack along with your morning coffee or afternoon tea. They are a full service bakery so they have everything from cakes to smaller pastries by the weight. Located along Pacific Ave in Glendale just above Glenoaks Blvd. Parking is in a shared lot with the other businesses in the plaza such as Moto Sushi.

Just moved to Glendale from Vegas and this bakery has the best roulette cake I've ever had!! Also the napoleon is amazing! They have such fresh and delicious pasties here! Definitely my new favorite!

My sister's boyfriend brought Napoleon pastry for Mother's Day a few years ago and we all fall in love with it. Had never had like it. So it's now a Mother's Day cake tradition. All the cakes , cookies and any pastries are absolutely fresh and delicious. Customer service outstanding. Worth the drive

Always great cakes and sweets. Always friendly. Always tasty napoleon and probably the freshest. So I would suggest grabbing a box of napoleon and a box of assorted sweets to really try it out

Stopped in this bakery while waiting for a local doctor appointment . They have some terrific treats a lot of specialty Armenian pastries . We tried some items from the refrigerated section and enjoyed them . we will make this a regular stop when we see our doctor .

I have only had the Napaleon pastry from here, which is one of their specialty items (granted everything else also looks good). But the Napaleon is AMAZING . Crispy layers, the creme is not super sweet nor greasy, good portion size (usually I only have half of one piece in one sitting). Four pieces are ~$14. Can't recommend more highly.

It was my first time visiting the store and the service was excellent and the pastries were top tier. You can also try samples of the pastries before buying them. Will be back for sure!

I just purchased a walnut cake and paid a good price for it. When I brought it home and cut it there was no walnut in the cake. They had just sprinkled a very little walnut on top of the cake. That is terrible. I will not buy from there again and will let all my friends and relatives who regularly buy from there know about the scam.

I always get the napoleon But last week it was the worst I had. The custard cream was so soft and sweet I was so disappointed

I've been going to this Bakery for many years but unfortunately their service it's not as it's supposed to be because their employees don't tell the truth about the pastries are fresh or not they sell them you take it home the pastries are all old molded crunchy you can't even eat that pastries I don't recommend people going to this Bakery one of the worst customer service ever

This big tree was really good in California the people were really nice it's a nice that worked there their food was so moist and delicious someday I'd like to go back again

This turned out to be a spur of the moment, less than inspired decision to stop in. We'd been in Pasadena / Glendale area, visiting historic sites. An early lunch had worn off, and it was several hours till dinner time. With a June Gloom day sapping my energy, I was thinking of a cookie or pastry for a quick fix. Not the healthiest choice, but. . . The parking lot wasn't very full at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The interior of the bakery was larger than the outside appearance of the space. Many cases of cakes, tarts, pastries, and cookies lined three sides. A cold case with beverages bridged the space between the two entrance doors. The decor looked light and airy, if a bit dated. Several cash register stations were handled by two employees. We weren't really greeted when we came in, nor offered help. Staff members were moving around behind the scenes, and I felt like other patrons knew the routine of how to get help in the shop, while we were left in the dark. We walked around ourselves, looking at the goodies on display. They didn't have pastries like Danish, or bear claws. Once we caught the attention of one of the associates, we got helped. We ended picking a selection of six cookies. Advertised at $10.00 a pound, a wide variety of different styles were available. Our six cookies came to $5, which seemed extravagant. Once we busted open the box in the car, taste buds dancing in happy anticipation, the joy quickly left the automobile. Ugh! Crumbly, dry, lacking in distinctive flavor. Where's the coffee? Tea? Something to wash down these dense baked goods with too much flour, and not enough moisture! Even the chocolate cookie with chocolate-raspberry filling barely tasted of anything resembling chocolate. I was so disappointed. Dear Hubby and I looked at each other and started laughing. My big treat of a sugar fix was pretty much a bust. Their style of baking is not our style of eating sweets. Possibly the cakes or tarts are better. Presumably so, since they've probably been in business for years. But based on the total disappointment of the cookie selection, we likely won't give them a second chance.

I bought one box of napoleon and mikado. Total came to 55$, when I used my debit card, total came out $57.19, employees are saying that it's the machine fee, and they don't know why. This is an illegal practice. I asked to talk to manager/owner, they refused to come forward. I am going to call my bank, VISA and better services Beaureu.

Pistachio cake I got for Christmas was very good. It was soft and not too sweet, just right amount of sugar and was fresh.

Worst customer service. Bought a chocolate cake. I was confused & disgusted eating it. It was chocolate & vanilla cake but tasted like orange cake. The ingredients didn't list orange, I didn't taste any vanilla in it Or chocolate. I called they said bring it back. I take it back the worker said the owner said we can't take it back or do anything about it, since it was cut. How else am I suppose to taste the cake? I need to cut a piece! The worker tried it & agreed it tasted like orange. Basically they did nothing to fix it or give me something else in return. I spent $18 on a cake that tasted horrible & wrong, I took it back & left it on the counter walked out. The owner did nothing to fix the problem.

I came in to pick up a cake my mom had ordered and wanted to get the green brûlée. So I got it thinking it'll be this crunchy soft creamy dessert I was having a sweet tooth. I came home to try it oh wow the dessert not only wreaked like a scent of garlic but the sweet crunchy part was all soggy and inside was milky thick it seemed like it had been out for days and they were just getting rid of the old orders. I was soo disgusted I immediately threw it out and I will be calling to let them know. I've had crème brûlées fresh and this Armenian owned bakery just resells it's old when that is nasty. I will be calling and advising the manager and if you want fresh pastry stay away from this place. And check the picture and tell me if that seems normal. I was really looking forward to this it's so horrible I feel disgusted.

Great! Loved all the options and was delicious! We got the sheet of napoleons and that was about $28, worth it and would recommend.

Friendly staff and great pastries, especially the little tiny raisin cookies. A like forms depending on what time you get in, so just be patient.

Best napoleon ever. When it's fresh out of the oven I can eat a few of them. I love buying pastries here. They taste good and stay fresh for a few days. When I buy it to take to work it's always a big hit. Parking is easy and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place/

I picked up a Napoleon and Chocolate Mousse dessert to go. Paid $3.90 for both. The Napoleon tasted fresh but the mousse wasn't that good. Looks like, from other reviews, that Napoleon is the way to go here. They charge by pound for most items. A little high priced for the quality. They are open late though so maybe I'd be back with a post-dinner craving but that's about it. The lady working there did not seem that happy (which I read in other reviews) but she was nice and did help me efficiently so no complaints on the service! Looks like the make most items here so maybe this is a good place to pick up bread, etc..

The cake was a great treat this morning. Chocolate had good flavor and i couldn't help but smile after tasting the fudge. they had lots more options inside to.

Absolutely love their chocolate cakes! This bakery knows how to make their cakes. Also, they have great customer service, and when there is a problem they are polite and work with the customer to resolve the problem. Delicious desserts and excellent service!

We were at this bakery a few weeks ago and ordered some cake and fruit tarts. Since we were paying cash ($28 ) ,the cashier wanted to charge us $38. Once we told her wait a minute the price is actually $28 she got very nervous. You may think this is an innocent mistake but this is the third time this is happening to us over there. So we simply stopped going there. This is not anything about sales or service but the ownership has to make sure the cashiers stop trying to steal from customers. I am open to changing this review if and when the owners hold these cashiers accountable and make it up to us. It would be in their best interest to make sure they don't steal from customers because they are driving business away. Customers should not have to fear using cash to pay.

Absolutely the best Armenian breads and pastries in the region around Glendale, CA. You'll not be disappointed!

Put an order over the phone. The lady was very nice and made sure my order will be ready in the morning. Their pistachio cake and the Parisian chocolate still two of my very favorites among many choices in town.

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2015 Lord and Villa Bakery came highly recommended to me by my Khaleh Joons L&S. Post Disneyland trip my husband, son and I trekked out to Glendale to find this highly recommended bakery. It's located in a small shopping center with a tiny parking lot but we were able to find parking ((luckily)). Once we stepped inside we were greeted by the friendly employees behind the large glass bakery displays. The entire shop smells of butter, sugar and sweet spices. In the middle of the bakery they have what seems to be an endless supply of European chocolates which are hard to find. This bakery is so amazing they have the most beautifully made desserts - cakes (sheet, slices, small), napoleons, cookies, Nazook, Gata, the list could literally go on and on. We purchased: four dozen raisin butter cookies four Gata (two regular and two cardamom) There are supposed to be two locations of Lord and Villa- the one in Glendale and one Tehran (according to my Klaheh Joon). Friendly customer service, delicious pastries make this a must visit when in the 818. The raisin butter cookies are my favorite :) Wish they had a location in Northern California. If you're needing something for your sweet tooth, a dessert for a party or want to treat your family to a delicious baked item be sure to stop at Lord and Villa Bakery! French Napoleon was definitely on point. The custard and flakiness in the pastry was delicious!A box of 15 pieces was $24. It was super fast service but a little confusing at first. One entrance, one exit; staff adhering to COVID-19 measures.

This Bakery is amazing...they are super consistent and high quality. The level of technique to be consistent & produce a quality product is bewildering. On march 29 ,2023 they sold me like a week old Gata its a pastry one with walnut and one round butter Gata, both of them was old wasn't tasting good and both of them i put it in the garbage and decided never will go to that bakery

While I am happy with the quality of food and service, they recently started adding 3.99% credit card fee for using credit card. During COVID cash isn't safe and credit surcharge isn't right thing to do. This really has to stop.

I don't sho here that often except when I need to get Napoleon .Without a doubt, they have the best ones in town. I purchased two boxes today and I noticed a difference between the amount on the register and the credit card device. That's when I noticed there is a 3.99% fee for using a credit or debit card. We are in a pandemic and the safest way is to use a credit or debit card to pay. Also, there is a National coin shortage and most business are recommending using credit or debit cards. All local businesses are struggling with the pandemic so what Lord does changes 4% to make up the gap. How sad and disappointed I'm with this establishment.

Love the fruit tart ! So far every time I get a large tart , everyone that tastes it likes it ! It's the perfect balance of sweetness and fruit and cream ! Lost of the sweet treats are very good as long as they are fresh . One star missing just because of the service . Like all Persian/Arminain businesses in the city of Glendale , if your not "their people" they tend to overlook you until you give them lip . So whoever has this kind of problem , don't be nice , be rude and give lip and you will be treated like royalty . Removing one more star due to customer service, I only speak English so don't give me a different face because I don't speak your language in America

This place isn't what it was years ago. Baked goods sit around for days getting stale. Prices doubled or tripled. Icing on the cake, the service is rude and slow .
