First time in Oriental Mandarin and our plan was to have a quick dinner before enjoying jazz at the Bamboo bar. (See review on Bamboo bar) Luckily we chose this restaurant. Everyone greeted us when we stepped into the restaurant, making us feel like royalty. We were seated near the window with a nice expansive view of the river and the colourful boats sailing by. Three of us had the white asparagus (seasonal), lamb loin, grilled leek, lobster bisque, organic corn fed chicken, grilled cod fish and potato millefeuille. Everything was delicious, only complaint was one of my asparagus was stringy and parts were inedible. The lobster bisque was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Dipping the complimentary sourdough bread with special butter in the bisque was sinfully delicious. We ended up too full for dessert. Two other tables were celebrating birthdays showing how popular Lord Jim’s is. Price is not cheap but you definitely get great food and service.
