Lorne Beach Pavilion

Bustling place in summer get a seat keep it for Happy Hour from 3pm, Mussels are great snacks are good service is great but can struggle with the unpredictability of the coastal trade.

A place with stunning views down at Lorne. We enjoyed tasty grilled fish and chips with a hearty chowder, very nice and relax afternoon after a peaceful drive along the Great of Ocean road. If you’re around Lorne, check this place out you can definitely put your feet up and relax. - MustBeHungry

Good (sunset) views and the lounge seats are pretty comfy. Staff were friendly but both drinks and food below par.

Amazing new menu started today. Stopped in here on way through on long weekend. They told us there would be a little wait for food as so busy but we were happy to wait with such a great view. The food was epic! Perfect brunch and great coffee. Highly recommended. ❤️

We have visited this place a few times. After today I just feel that the best thing to do for restaurants is to serve a few dishes that they do well and not try to serve everything where most of the menu is average Visit this place for seafood - the burger in the picture below was just sad and the lamb shank was below average

We had two absolutely beautiful breakfasts, and one excellent happy hour, here during our brief stay in Lorne. The location simply couldn’t be better. Coffees and food were excellent, with very friendly service.

We came here for our anniversary dinner last night and it was great! Service was really good, food tasty (and quick), for fair prices. If I was down in Lorne more often, I'd head back here.

This is probably a 3.5 but I chose the 4 instead of 3 because of the staff who were a great asset to this place. We stopped for lunch, menu was reasonably priced with a good variety. I chose the lamb souvlaki and hub had a cheeseburger and fries. We came in right as breakfast finished and half an hour before lunch began. We only had an hour, so the staff offered to see what could be done. They were so accommodating and helpful. We ordered the food and they got it out within 10 minutes. We were very grateful. The beach pavilion is directly on the beach so the views are fabulous. Plenty of seating inside and out (but depending on the weather you may want to eat inside bc of the flies), for that reason we chose in. The lamb was pretty overdone (most likely to do with shavings) and the pita wrap was so dry it would not fold, just kept cracking. Hubs cheeseburger was more along the lines of a frozen beef burger. Both were doable and we ate it all (minus the pita).

Awesome potential but let down by poor service. I'm used to paying for location and a view but you'll need to chase your wait staff to make sure you get what you ordered when you ordered it. Sushi bowl is really good!

Unpolished diamond. Avoid the seafood platter! $89 should not leave you wanting. Mussels were not cleaned, salmon was overcooked, chips were minimal and crab was tiny. This would be excusable if it were 55 to 70 but it was at the hundred dollar mark. Honestly considering the hotel prices here I really wish I had flown to the Philippines. However the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly if inexperienced (take off the sunnies girl). Beers were cheap and I think other items on the menu may offer better experiences. Please give this place a go. It's an unpolished diamond.

The other reviews almost scared us away but I'm used to "paying for the view" and happy to do it when it's worth it. Stick with safe classics. Had the fish and chips (really good), steak sandwich (yummy if petit meat), waffle fries (can't go wrong if you like em), and the kids pizza bread (get the fish or nuggets). It was dead quiet with no wait. If it was busy or we had to wait opinions would change. Table cloth as crayon surface made for fun drawing. 3.5 stars (prefer to round up).

Had a steak at this restaurant today. Paid $42 and it was significantly below standard. I would under no circumstances recommend this restaurant or go back there. Other peoples meals were just OK. General standard of service was poor. Wait staff were not very professional and some of them were verging on rude.

Great potential if only they could get service right. Table service that never comes is a sign of an incorrect roster system that is designed to work on the cheap. Booze pricing ok for seasons outlet and great setting. Maybe find a few locals to act as front of house rather than let the poor back packers struggle along. No sure Lorne Range River set will take to long waits much longer.

Worst dining experience ever any where on the planet. After one and one half hours after food was ordered, no food was delivered. Many excuses were offered but, our Birthday party exited with out ever having dinner. Never go to this restaurant. Service Team had no concern for anyone.

Ordered the oysters, wagyu beef burger, calamari and beer battered fish and chips. Oysters weren't fresh, beef burger was mediocre and calamari tasted like it came out of a microwaveable frozen dinner box. The fish and chips was only alright but the best out of all the dishes. It's a self serve joint so not much to comment about the service except that it was slow because of the crowds. The only pro about the beach pavilion is its right next to the beach. View was much obstructed by people walking by. Would not recommend it seeing there are so many other options near by.

Wow great location. Terrible food that is overpriced. Don't waste your time and money.
