It is evident that this kitchen is in need of serious quality control and oversight. The dishes are both poorly prepared and poorly presented. If a menu item is unavailable, it would be far better to remove it for the day rather than serve a substandard version under the assumption that customers will not notice. I ordered the mango aguachile and was served what appeared to be a bowl of Jumex mango juice with shrimp and two small cubes of frozen mango. The dish was overwhelmingly sweet, you could clearly know it was jumex juice, lacked balance, no attention to presentation, simply shrimp submerged in liquid. I also ordered the verde aguachile, which was dominated entirely by cilantro. The consistency was unusually thick and extremely green, resembling a blended juice, with no detectable lemon to balance the flavors. The lack of care in preparation and presentation is disappointing, especially when we were only two tables. The east side location is by far better.

Not only was customer service poor, but the restaurant is very dirty. There are stains on the wall, the ice maker looks filthy, and the chairs have food spills and dirt on them. I wasn’t going to rate this place until I saw how unclean it was. I hope the kitchen looks better than the dining area

This is hands down the best salsa I’ve ever had in my life. The service was great and food was good. It’s mostly all seafood with very good prices. I ordered the fish tacos (baja) and they were pretty good. Could use a bit more salt/seasoning in the batter but tasted fresh and not greasy/oily. The shrimp was good also. I would come here again. We didn’t enjoy the free soup appetizer.

If ima be honest this was disgusting the worst think I ever had it was not good it didn't even have any flavor on will never EVER come back here 🤮🤢

Google
I was very surprised at the quality of the food. The fish wasn't dry at all and the rice was extremely flavorful. My son ordered the carne asada quesadilla and that was also delicious. Only thing is that the gratuity was included on the bill and I didn't realize it until after she took another cash tip on top of what was automatically charged and she didn't even say anything. Definitely my mistake but none the less, it was good.

Google
For being a seafood restaurant far away from the ocean, it is a pretty awesome restaurant!!! All their menu selections are fresh, very good size, presentation, quality and taste of their dishes is simply delicious, unique and offer a wide variety of traditional sauce styles for everyone’s taste preference. When visiting El Paso, simply driving by or passing by to visit good ol’ friends and acquaintance, you must definitely make it a priority to stop by and visit this very humble, yet top quality Mexican seafood restaurant. Enjoy!!! R/S L. Doc “O”

Delicious Mexican style seafood. Good service and plenty of menu options.

Google
Food was very good! Great flavor and many dishes to choose from! One of the best seafood paces in El Paso. Place was clean and service is fast. 💯%recommend!

Yelp
Waited at the bar for 10 minutes bartender looked right at me helped the guy on my left and the couple on my right. I even said excuse me in English and Spanish and zero acknowledgement.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food here! I had three different tacos: Azteca, Baja shrimp, and Baja fish. All were delicious. The Azteca in particular was a favorite for both me and my husband. The service was great, the food came very quickly and the waitress was attentive but not over-bearing. The vibes were kind of coastal, the restaurant was clean and the place was kid friendly with a changing table in the ladies' room and multiple high chairs. Will definitely come back to try some of their other dishes!

Yelp
We love this place, the menu on the westside location is slightly different and plated more fancy. Food is great and service sometimes slow when the place is full but everyone is very nice.

Yelp
Another Tuesday, another taco place, but I wanted fish tacos and Los Aguachiles was down the street and had a kids menu so we went there. Oh man, not sure how they stay in business because their fish tacos are generous and had a large avocado slice for each and guess what? THEY'RE ONLY A BUCK! That's right, a fully decked out legit fish taco is $1 here. $2 Ultra beers were appreciated by hubby. I saw a lot of to go orders but the waiters are so friendly, we ate in. If you want a gteat taco Tuesday but are tired of the same, try this place out. They also have some crazy fresh fish towers that I want to check out another day.

Yelp
Why hadn't we gone here? This place was a heck of an experience. They bring you tostadas and a pico de gallo and yellow cream hot sauce to dip. We had to try the namesake dish- the aguachiles. The best aguachiles I have had. I ordered the Sinaloense style Aguachile served in a spicy serrano-jalapeno pepper and cilantro sauce, topped with red onion slices, cucumber and avocado. Definitely enough for two. We also ordered the sarandeado black bass and it was the best charbroiled fish. The marinade made it stellar! It comes topped with a stir fry of carrots, celery and onion. Very tasty stuff. With that and the fish I didn't even care for anything else on my plate (white rice pilaf and crinkle fries and side salad). We also had the baja fish tacos , 3 to a plate with no other sides. The fish was not greasy despite being deep fried tenders. It was cooked perfectly and crunchy. The aguas frescas are straight out the packet so that was a disappointment. Initially I was docking one star because it took 40 minutes from the time we ordered til we were brought the starter fish broth. But after we had the food, it was worth the wait. We literally walked in as soon as they opened, 11am. The service was really good and our waiter attentive without being overly intrusive. This has now become our go to for mexican seafood staples.

Yelp
This review is for the cimmeron location.. We went to Los Aguachiles i had a party of 6, 2 adults 1 senior citizen and 3 girls 2 under the age of 7. We sat down server was pretty quick with drinks we looked at the menu overall a bit pricey especially the ribeyes. Food was ok. When I asked for the check thats when I got the suprise. Because we were a party/family of 6 they added 18% gratuity automatically without being informed up front. Normally I would have been ok with that had we 1 been informed up front then I have a choice and 2 had I been in a group of 6 adults or more (still informed up front.) When I protested initially I was told "sorry thats just the way it was." When I stated fine i'll pay but I will never return and I will post on social media. At that point she offered to remove the 18% i stated no we9 are past that. You put it on the bill i will pay and call management tomorrow. Food was ok but not worth the price charged.

Yelp
Pretty good Mexican food. We had cocktail de Cameron and camarones de ajillo. It was spot on. However, we both ordered 2 margaritas, and they were very good, but they were 14$ each and mostly filled with ice in small glasses. We ended up spending quite a bit for such small drinks. Too pricy, and if we'd have known about the drinks, we never would have got them. Usually margaritas at Mexican restaurants are cheap.... Not here.

Yelp
I figured I should probably order aguachiles since its the namesake but Eric R. would never in a million years survive the spice or the citrus pow of this dish (in its many iterations on the menu). I probably am glad I did not because the poor server was solo in a very busy restaurant and Eric R. had to get up to ask for more water (in which she only gave us one glass initially). The salsas were pretty good - the green was quite hot and the chunky red was also good. I liked the chips because they were crispy and not salty or stale. It took awhile for the server to get our order because she was running around to other tables and delivering food - this is totally understandable. Eric R. asked her to at least put in an order of guacamole (which another review called a bowl of heaven). After we flagged her down to order our meal, she came back and told us the restaurant was out of guac (I guess everyone else got it first!) - I ordered a half dozen oysters and a shrimp ceviche tostada; Eric R. got the shrimp al pastor and subbed beans for potatoes on the side (which also comes with salad and rice). The menu said it was a kebob but he got 3 tacos instead without rice. He asked for a side of rice though and it did come out fast and tasty. I got my oysters when he got his meal, and the mignonette was quite good - very tangy and acidic with onions and green onions. I liked it a lot and also squeezed lime on the oysters. I got a bonus oyster (7 were on the plate) so that was cool. The server was running all over the place and I saw her deliver ceviche to other tables but after awhile she came by with a plate of a sliced half avocado as a gesture for no guac, which was nice but a bit odd since we had no food to eat at that point. I asked her about my ceviche and she ran to the kitchen window, and it seemed she never put that order in, but it came out fast. I added the new avocado to the tostada which already had a slice, and it was pretty tasty. Overall, this was fine for our seafood fix but I do not think it compared to the greatness of Tampico in Houston and Jarocho in Kansas City. I think this place would be aided by adding one more person to help in the front of the house. It was just fine so I would recommend it if you like seafood and have some patience. Also, I will concur that the beers are cheap!

Yelp
The service is good, but be prepared to speak Spanish! We like the other location better, but the ambiance here was very cute. We love the ceviche, and tuna tacos. It seems that the tuna tacos are off their menu now.

Yelp
Dang those Baja shrimp tacos are to die for, I mean seriously the shrimp was cooked to a perfect crisp and the toppings were amazing, as well as the green and orange sauce served along with it. Reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because the service was alright, we were trying to cash out but didn't know we had to pay up front and weren't told so we waited a good minute, so make sure you pay at the register once you're through with lunch/dinner! Other than that will be coming again and trying the peel-off shrimp!
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
Yeah this spot hits the spot. Baja Tacos were on point! It comes with 3 but I asked for 4 tacos thinking there were like other places with small portions. Nope. Two tacos in and I was full. They have a chipotle sauce that is paired with it and my god it's amazing. 100% will come back and check out the rest of the menu. Very good food and service was great.

Juan T.

Yelp
I ordered oysters and they were dirty, gritty and had a smell to them. They had a bad taste also, someone should be overseeing the food that is being served.

Yelp
Best fish tacos ever! We were on the road heading to Vegas and stopped in El Paso to eat. Highly recommend if you love fish tacos

Yelp
Good atmosphere, good food, good vibes. The service was good and quick. We were happy with the location and the food options

Yelp
I had the aguachile with just shrimp and it's ok. Nothing amazing. I then ordered some tacos pescado and they also were ok. I had a michelada for my drink and this also, just ok. I guess I've had so many great fish tacos, aguachiles, and micheladas that I was a bit underwhelmed here.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good food. Had Tacos Baja (fish) absolutely awesome tasted the best I have had in El Paso coming from California. Excited I found this spot. Will recommend to every person who asks me about fish tacos. Will defiantly come back. Thank you also for your great service.

Yelp
Came to this establishment with family. We ordered a couple of items off the menu. Our food took about 30mins longer than usual. Which I didn't mind because the flavor is good. Our waiter didn't check up on us nor offered us any refills. And when it came to pay we had some coupons that we've gotten in the mail. But for some odd reason our waiter didn't want to validate them. That's what I call false advertising and misleading customers. For how we were treated and not honoring their coupons I left this poor review.
google avatar

Jacquelynn R.

Yelp
Just ordered from this place ordered 3 things spend over $60 and everything we ordered was total garbage. The agua chiles in salsa negra is just soy sauce so if you feel like eating salt order this. The tower of seafood was also a disappointment it was all onions and 3 shrimp oooh and they included octopus when we asked for it with none. The cheeseburger and fries were soggy and cold..... I would never recommend this place.

Yelp
This place is pretty spectacular! If you're looking for some authentic Mexican-style seafood, then this is the place for you. I recommend going straight for the Aguachiles (a bowl containing raw shrimp fully cooked in salt water and lime, topped off with a variety of greens and spices). A word of warning: they are particularly spicy, so if you can't handle spicy food, then you will most likely not be able to finish the whole thing. This, combined with an order of "Quesadillas Azteca" (shrimp quesadillas containing beans, sliced avocado, and huitlacoche) will take your taste buds to the coast of Mexico. These are probably the best quesadillas that I've ever eaten. I'm Hispanic... that says A LOT! The ownership itself is very well established and the quality of this place is quite high. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because the quality is not always consistent. There are days where the plating is impeccable, the portion sizes incredibly generous, and the overall quality of the food unmatched. Other days it appears that some of the dishes are rushed, the presentation subpar, and portion sizes lacking. Perhaps I went in on a busy day. Perhaps the head chef was out that day. Maybe, just maybe, they were short staffed because someone called in sick. Either way, I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience. Everything on the menu is a win. All in all, this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. If you're looking for that southern coast Mexican taste, this is as authentic and fresh as you'll find in the desert. With a minor tweak in consistency, this place can be one of the top restaurants in town.

Yelp
Must come if... You are in the mood for some good hangover recovery sea food. Their aguachiles are to die for and in my opinion, these are the best aguachiles in El Paso. The Mar y Tierra are the best in my opinion. These ones come with cucumber and beef jerky, order with the Sinaloa salsa, but beware. They are spicy. Ask your server to add a bit of Clamato if you want them mild.

Rene And Carol L.

Yelp
First time visiting and enjoyed the delicious shrimp ceviche, oysters, and tacos de marlin. Pamela was our waitress and she was very attentive and gave us recommendations from the menus. She made sure to check on us frequently and did it with a smile. We will come back!!

Yelp
We wanted Mexican food on our only night in El Paso and found this place on Yelp. The outside is deceiving because it's in a strip mall and the sign was broke but it had a great local vibe inside. We weren't familiar with this style of Mexican food but embraced the seafood forward menu. The service and food were both good. Biggest complaint is that the bathrooms were very dirty.

Mitchell S.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Los Aguachiles! The food is fresh, tasty, and light . The fish and seafood are very fresh and mild. We will come back again! We had fish tacos, soup, and ceviche. The service was excellent Not expensive Highly recommended We give it 5 stars!!
google avatar

Yelp
What a gem of a find! The food was outstanding! We had mixed seafood soup & mixed seafood ceviche for lunch. A lot of restaurants will have fillers in their soup. Not here, their fullers were the fresh seafood! I found 1/2 carrot slice & some celery. Their ceviche was as good as what my husband makes at home. We'll just come here for ceviche & no longer make it. Ceci, our waitress was very friendly & described Mexican dishes we are not familiar with. She is a doll! We will definitely return for more meals!

Yelp
This was probably one of the highlights of my trip. We ordered the shrimp and black bass plates and it was amazing. The black bass was fried in a special sauce with onions and bell peppers served with fresh vegetable salad and rice. The taste of the fish was perfect not to salty. The shrimp plate was fried with garlic and butter and laid on a bed of rice on the shrimps was bell pepper, mushroom and onion. My plate also came with fresh vegetable salad and a scoop of homemade mashed potatoes. These plates come with a vegetable fish soup which was extremely tasty. Plus guacamole, salsa and chips when you arrive. Everything cost under $40...

Laura K.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and no regrets. Their Baja fish tacos are amazing. And the sweet shrimp cocktail is to die for. 5+ stars.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
I ordered it through Grubhub. But they missed one Ordered and missed my mashed potato. I called the restaurant He said I'm really sorry. and he asked to me to pick up food myself. I was feel like they don't care customer. If I pick-up was available, I didn't pay the delivery fee and I paid the driver tip. It was a waste of money and not a happy service. Very disappointed

Nancy W.

Yelp
Great service and Fabulous food. Tacos were very tasty. Even served Shirley Temple. Smiles everywhere
google avatar

Kirk B.

Yelp
I've had ceviche in Peru and elsewhere, so it was a treat to sample the Mexican equivalent aguachiles. I ordered the mixed combo with the rojo sauce, which was just at my level of spice tolerance. My daugher had the shrimp brochette, and enjoyed it as well. Friendly waitress who was very helpful. The tomato salsa served with the chips was great, but the yellow salsa was way too hot for our gringo palates.
google avatar

Angie D.

Yelp
Great food just needed more than one soy sauce. Egg rolls and wontons were so crunchy delicious.
google avatar

Ruth E.

Yelp
The reason why I'm giving this place only 2 stars is because: 1) we walked in and wanted to place a to go order. They took like ten minutes to take our order. 2) we were there another 45 minutes and they forgot my friends tacos. 3) DONT GET THE CALIMARI!!! It tasted like dehydrated styrofoam. It was nasty! BUT! The marinara seafood soup was delicious, and the tacos were good to! Our friends also had the ceviche and they liked it, they say it should've had more kick and it was too watered down. So 2 stars for bad service and bad appetizers.
google avatar

Yvonne T.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot in El Paso for cheap, quality seafood. I almost always order tacos Baja and the aguachiles sinaloense. The tacos Baja comes with 3 gigantic fish tacos. For les than $10, that's a steal. The shrimp in the aguachiles is always fresh. The food sometimes takes a while, but complimentary chips and salsa is a plus.
google avatar

Sam K.

Yelp
What an experience. I felt so out of place. Everyone was staring at us as we walked in. That's how we knew we were in the right place. The waitress was super nice and suggested some. Great dishes. We got a dozen oysters on a half shell. Two different types of tacos and shrimp fajitas with a super sweet red sauce. And, of course, the pies de resistance; the Aguachile! If you don't know what that is then you're obviously equally as uncultured as I am. It turns out that it's exactly what the name implies. A Chile soup with all sorts of yummy goodness in it. The soup is opaque so each bite is a surprise. I got the green aguachile as recommended by our waitress. She said it was spicy but I scoffed at her. We got free chips and dip (habanero laced fire sauce). The kids were not amused. But I loved every burning minute is it. My five year old was concerned when I started tearing up. The aguachile is definitely an acquired taste but Koreans being the Mexicans of Asia, I felt right at home with the familiar flavors. We got the beef jerky in our soup. The waitress called it carne asada. I thought carne asada was something else. Lesson learned. Overall, I feel like I got an authentic Mexican experience and am the better for it. It almost felt like we were on vacation in Mexico. The other patrons looked like it was just another Friday night. For us, this night was special. Olé!

Michelle W.

Yelp
The food was good. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. If you have shellfish allergy please avoid this place.

Louis L.

Yelp
My wife loves this place. She orders fish tacos and aguachiles sinaloense. She absolutely votes this place 5 stars which is a rarity. Since you all know how my wife rates places, enough said! Eat at this place right now!

Lavenda B.

Yelp
Food is delicious & service is great! My kids, husband & I devoured everything we ordered. We ordered shrimp tacos, steak quesadillas & ceviche! Oh & their soup is amazing!!
google avatar

Rolando M.

Yelp
There is only one Mariscos place better than this...but it is about 600 miles away from here in San Luis Río Colorado, Son. This joint is the frikkin BOMB!! The ceviche is delish!!! Try it with a cold Tecate Roja (no light)...my mouth is watering as I type this review!!!

Teresa K.

Yelp
My husband and I are being very careful eating out because of Covid 19. We chose to go inside and see if safe guidelines were in place. The tables were spaced properly and the wait staff were masked up .. signs and sanitizer in place. We decided to stay and eat. The food and service was wonderful.. as always.. I want to stress that part in this review. The waitress was amazing. How, after we finished our meal I was able to see the cooks in the kitchen and NEITHER OF THEM WERE WEARING MASKS. Then one of them came out to the bar area, no mask, talking to one of the waitresses, also no mask. He went back and forth to the kitchen and bar, no mask. I continued to observe this... no social distancing and no masks. I am certain that our meals were prepared by cooks without masks. I now feel unsafe and worried. One would think that with businesses struggling to stay afloat that this kind of behavior would not be tolerated. We will not be returning.
google avatar

Cyrus S.

Yelp
The waiter did get our order wrong, but the food was still pretty good. I had the baja tacos and the seafood civeche. Both were okay, however, I have had the baja tacos (1 fish and 1 shrimp) were not very flavorful. The dressing served with it was watered down and the food wasn't very hot so you could tell it was sitting for a bit. This is what was recommended. The civeche was good. Its a lot. It was lunch the next day and was still very satisfying. I will return again to give it another shot since it was spoken highly of.
google avatar

Mimi C.

Yelp
Me like!!! I enjoyed this seafood restaurant very much. I ordered their seafood ceviche and coctels, they have many different flavors, all of which were good. What I like the most about their seafood mix is that they cut up their seafood in pieces instead of using like a 10 lbs bag of marisco mix. I also enjoyed their different seafood soups. I like eat this place as appetizers, since to me, ceviche/coctel is just not fulfilling enough to be a meal. My friends have tried their entrees, it looked delicious, but for me I am happy sticking to the ceviche/coctels!
google avatar

Dianne J.

Yelp
A M A Z I N G! End of story! So crazy delicious! I've eaten the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos and they are PERFECT. The crema de guacamole is so light and spicy. This is by far my most favorite Mexican food restaurant in El Paso. I've lived here my entire life and it beats everyone else.

Denise G.

Yelp
So sad, this restaurant is so delicious but service sucks! Called yesterday 09/22/20, asked if there were any specials. The girl, in Spanish very rudely said no there isn't, I asked if she could make sure, she rudely said no. Said I'd ask the owner, she changed her attitude really quick! Not worth it at that point. Disappointing.

Yelp
Attentive waitress. First time having Aguachiles and it was delicious

Yelp
My sister was craving ceviche, I was visiting from L.A., and we were both feeling lazy, so we decided to Yelp a local place and try it out only to be disappointed by the saddest ceviche I have ever eaten in my life. I love all types of ceviche and have tasted dozens of different styles throughout Latin America, but this ceviche was not satisfying in the least bit. Although the vegetable and fruit ingredients in the ceviche itself were very fresh, the actual shrimp in the shrimp ceviche bowl that I ordered tasted chewy and old and was a very tiny amount in a huge bowl filled with tons of chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and cucumbers. I love all of those ingredients, but the minuscule amount of shrimp in my ceviche aside from the chewiness of the shrimp itself was extremely disappointing and unsatisfying. My sister and her husband ordered the fish ceviche and there appeared to be more of the fish than the shrimp in their ceviche but it also tasted bland. I also ordered a mojito and was served a mystery drink with chile powder on the rim that tasted of artificial mint syrup and some cheap alcohol that burned my throat, and there was not one single mint leaf in it. Despite the nastiness of that mystery drink, I guzzled that sucker down to try to calm my nerves after not getting anything from our server (including water or chips) for over 20 minutes. There was also only one waitress waiting on over 9 parties and taking a long time to bring out each drink and dish that we ordered. I felt bad for the waitress for a quick minute until I saw her disappear behind an employee entrance for long periods of timE. Their selection of hot sauces was also limited, so I would DEFINITELY not recommend this spot to anyone seeking any sort of delicious ceviche while in El Paso. The only good thing that came out of this visit was getting inspired to make my own ceviche and having a beer and ceviche party before I leave El Paso!

Cassie T.

Yelp
The Baja shrimp tacos, shrimp cocktails and all the soups (shrimp, pescado, & marinera) are TO DIE FOR! Best seafood place in El Paso hands down! The east side location is just as good as the west side location. I highly suggest-it! I haven't tried everything but everything I have tried has been a 10/10 so I don't doubt their other dishes are just as good! They don't disappoint ;)

Yelp
My family and I are here in El Paso on vacation and came to this place ordering a rib eye steak. The steak was horrible! It was hard and not chewable! Rib eye is supposed to be nice and tender. Waste of money!!
google avatar

Detria V.

Yelp
I rate aguachiles a 4. The food is delicious especially the soup. I do have to agree with everything other reviews on the take out. I called in my order and they do take 10 to 15 mins. to get my food ready.
google avatar

User R.

Yelp
Came here because of the great reviews. All I ordered was a mango margarita and there was no alcohol in it. My family ordered seafood and steak and the food went untouched. They removed two meals from our bill which is why they get one star. When an establishment serves inedible food what do they expect? To top it off they conveniently charged a mandatory service fee smh

Yelp
We tried the shrimp ceviche and the aguachiles and they were not that great. The aguachile had too many ingredients that it was overwhelming. Aguachile is a simple dish that only requires shrimp, cucumber, serrano pepper, lime, and cilantro. We were very disappointed and we left with stomaches.
