Google
Don’t miss the tasting! We had Tonio who replied to all our (thousand) questions and managed to explain every single drink we had. We were 3 and decided to try 9 different agaves. The best option to know what you will like more and less. With some guitar player at the end. An amazing time in Oaxaca

Google
Beautiful place to have some drinks with a view of main alley of the city. Looks historic Drinks are great!! Good service; we didnt try food here

Google
View was incredible and probably worth it just for the view. We didn't have the food so can't comment on that, but the drinks were good but nothing stellar! Rooftop was large though and we were able to get a spot with a great view on the weekend with no reservation.

Google
Food was reasonably good but the service was absolutely AWFUL. Plenty of staff, not a busy time, and no one offering water, asking if you're ready to order, checking to see if you need anything, clearing plates. Nothing! Had to flag someone down for every single thing, which was surprisingly difficult for so many staff floating around. With so many amazing restaurants in Oaxaca, places with not only exquisite food but beautiful ambiance and stellar service, DO NOT give your money to a place where the staff is unfriendly, ignores you and act annoyed when you try to get their attention. Honestly, I haven’t had this poor of service in ages and even though the food was good, it’s absolutely not worth the overall poor experience.

Google
Fantastic views and delcious food. The black rice was rich and tasty for mains. Luce was a superb server - very chatty and friendly!

Google
Almost gave them four stars because you can get a better value for some of the same drinks at other places but the view makes up for it on the roof terrace. Did not get any food here so I can not attest to the quality of the taste or service. It was a Monday evening and we stopped in around 4pm when it was not very busy to grab a quick drink and take in the sun and beautiful view of the cathedral and the town.

Google
This place is so lovely. We went into the cocktail bar and Antonio gave us a really good service, explained the cocktails and different Mezcals. Would definitely recommend the place

Google
These are probably some of the best cocktails we had, and Oaxaca. Great atmosphere, everyone was super friendly, and not pretentious, would definitely recommend and go back. Our son loved the baby tables that are next to the windows and reminded us of the famous Zoolander quote.

Yelp
Excellent service. Amazing food. Great ambiance. Perfect views of Templo Santo Domingo. Flawless drinks. We had an amazing time here.

Yelp
View is a 10 out of 10. We came here specifically for the roof top! There are lots of tables and seating available. There is a stage for live music and there is a breathtaking view of the most beautiful Cathedral in Oaxaca, Santo Domingo Service was super slow as the employees are understaffed, there was only one waitress, she was very overwhelmed, we sympathized with her and remained patient Drinks were good, view is amazing, prices are reasonable

Yelp
Came in for a sunset drink on a Sunday evening. Plenty of tables with a beautiful view of the church and the mountains. Had a lovely mezcal drink (mezcal highball I think) and ordered guac. Once we ordered food they also brought us a basket of bread with butter, garlic and olives which we devoured.

Yelp
This was our favorite mezcal bar we visited. The bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly. Great live guitar music at this tiny locale - It is just a bar with standing room and one bench. Well worth the visit to try all of their amazing mezcals.

Yelp
Great view and service. Good drink selection. Wasn't the biggest fan of my cocktail though had a lot of lime juice in it.

Yelp
Awesome terrace restaurant/bar. Great views of the Santo Domingo church and the entire city and valley. Great drinks, food, service. It's a good place for lunch, a break from touring the city or just to kick back. I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Love! Walked in on a Sunday night, 20 min wait for a table. Loved the rooftop vibes with a pretty lit view of the church. Nice and attentive hostess, great mezcal cocktails! My fave was the Los Amantes (very sweet with a spicy kick) and the Potion cocktail with a sweet passionfruit (maracuya) taste. Four drinks, two mezcal tasters, two entrees and the best appetizer ever TUNA was under 100$. The tuna was the most zesty and salty/smoky and delicious thing ever. I constantly eat ceviche and raw fishes and this was definitely my favorite. My boyfriend is weird about raw fish but I convinced him to try some and he loved it. 5 stars, will happily return! --- Update: There are TWO Los Amantes, this actual location is not what the review is for but seems a lot of guests have posted incorrectly also. This address is for the brands tiny standing room mezcal shop which is across the street. The bar myself and others have posted is for the hotels rooftop!

Yelp
FYI: There seems to be some confusion (understandably) between this place (Terraza Los Amantes) and the Mezcalería Los Amantes. This is the Terraza Los Amantes, a restaurant/bar that's located on the rooftop of the Hotel Los Amantes. FOOD: This was my first meal in Oaxaca so I may have been a bit dazed (starved by the airplane travel and thrilled by the new options). Nonetheless, I stand my ground. It was absolutely delicious. We had the lechón tacos which were incredible. Additionally, we sampled the cheese croquettes which were terrific as well. VIBE: The view of the church (Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán) is gorgeous. Fantastic ambiance. Trendy but comfortable. They have heaters available in case you get cold. Excellent experience.

Yelp
Met some friends for drinks here. We got to sit at the terrace at sunset time. We had a wonderful time. The drinks were tasty and the atmosphere was great. The view of the church was beautiful at sunset. Loved this place and the customer service. Mezcal drinks are to die for.

Yelp
The one place in Oaxaca I did not love! This is rooftop with cactuses, which is what drew us here in the first place. The decor of the place is definitely top notch. And it's totally a scene, so it's fun to people watch. However, I really was not impressed with how the food tasted. First, the menu is quite small and there aren't too many options. I ordered the burger and I would not recommend it. Another con of this place is that it is highly overpriced (it felt like being back in the United States). For these high prices, I was completely underwhelmed with the service Finally, although the rooftop is cool, there are plenty of rooftops in the area that are larger and on the corner with a much wider view. If you are into the scency stuff, then sure, check it out to people watch. Otherwise, I would not advise coming here.

Yelp
We stopped by yesterday for lunch. The hostess was pleasant and explained the menu well. We were seated with a good view of Santo Domingo temple (actually beautiful view) my wife's sopa de flor de calabaza was soooo good, we have to return another day. I had crocheta de tajada which was good. Service was slow a bit, therefore 4 stars....but worth it.

Yelp
A must while you are visiting Oaxaca. Don't understand why this place is not recommended enough ... great views and good food and service.

Yelp
Great spot for drinks and a beautiful view of Santo Domingo. The conchas are amazing and the service impeccable

Yelp
Great little place to have a copa of mezcal! Buenisimo lugarcito para tomar una copa de mezcal!

Yelp
Fabulous view from the terrace. View is included in the prices. Delicious food and drinks. Speedy service. (Lift was broken.)

Sarika C.

Yelp
The cocktails were super diluted. The food took forever to come and was absolutely cold. The service was very poor. The view is great, but there are several other restaurants within the vicinity with a similar view. With the quality of food and service otherwise available in Oaxaca, this one is totally avoidable! Would not recommend.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the view of Santo Domingo is amazing! Very good service, food taste great!

Yelp
$200 for a glass of wine in a Stella glass on the terrace. Surprised considering other ratings... The view/atmosphere is excellent so hopefully a one off... Just recommendation to buy a few more wine glasses.. Did I say great atmosphere!

Yelp
Los Amantes is seriously tiny. It's nearly standing room only, except for the 2 facing benches on either wall. The decor is fantastic and it's just a wonderful, cozy little place to try the mezcal de la casa. The bartender who was working the first time we went was very friendly and informative when describing the different varieties. Their hours are a little limited and not open during the day, but definitely worth checking out in the early evening!

Valerie T.

Yelp
Gorgeous views, delicious food/drinks, and great service. The sun was setting as we had dinner and being on the rooftop was spectacular. The waiter even brought us blankets because he saw that we were cold once it got late. Highly recommended

Yelp
Very cool little spot. Xavier Amayo knows his shit. Try the Silvestres or wild mezcals. Listen to the dude play old Mexican classics. Stand at the little bar.
