"One of San Salvador’s most popular restaurants, Los Balcones is located inside the Quality Hotel Real near the airport. It’s an unlikely location, perhaps, but guests rave about the food and the service here. With respect to the former, the variety—especially at the breakfast buffet—is notable, especially for visitors who have tired of pupusas and heavier foods that are typical to the Salvadoran diet."

We stopped here for lunch one the way back from the airport. It’s looked at a Choice hotel. The place is very clean, great service and good food. There was plenty of selection. I did find the food a little on the bland side but I assume this is to accommodate people with dietary restrictions or those who don’t like bold flavors. That said, there were some very spicy sauces on the said. And there was an excellent passion fruit cocktail that I recommend. You’ll do fine here if you’re gluten free. Easy parking. Very accessible for mobility needs. Bonus: big clean bathroom across the way at the hotel. The hotel looks very nice too.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. My son was talking about the plantains our entire trip. The tamale was so tasty.

Expensive option but the only available if you're staying at the quality hotel with no car.

They have different meals every day. They have a sea food night. Meat and chicken. Cooked to your liking. Pasta, Salads ,soups . Prices are reasonable. All you can eat. Deserts are not bad.

Went for breakfast and there was a large and affordable buffet (about $15) with a in house chef to make customizable omelets or other egg dishes. Pancakes, OJ, potato cakes, and other native dishes were great, especially the salsa sauce!

Excellent food and staff. If you don't want the buffet, there are menu items here. The morning you can get fresh pupusas or omelets, there's always a great assortment of vegan options as well. Portion sizes are generous from the hotel menu, and if you leave hungry from the buffet, that's your own fault! They do a great job of trying to mix things up from time to time as well. Their Thanksgiving meals and Christmas meals were excellent. The service is second to none. If you're not great at speaking English, most of the staff is fairly bilingual and you can still accomplish your order without any issues. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're on the fence.
