"Set in the mountainous province of Jarabacoa, this eco-estancia is the place to escape coastal heat and humidity. Here, lush gardens of flowers, palms, and tidy hedges surround 20 refreshingly basic rooms housed in brightly painted block structures. Guests can opt for everything from a European plan with no meals to an all-inclusive American plan with daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus access to two swimming pools, a pool table, and activities like horseback riding and karaoke. Nearby pine forests and rivers offer adventures both tame and wild, from bird-watching and nature walks to rafting, rappelling down the Baiguate Salto waterfall, and hiking the 10,000-foot Pico Duerte."

The place is so full of nature and beauty. Everything is so peaceful and calming. From the moment you arrive, you feel in touch with nature immediately. I like it that it’s located far from the city and any noise from it. The food is delicious, the service is exceptional, the environment is very relaxing. 100% recommended!

Gorgeous and peaceful eco place with a rural theme. Pool is available and rooms are separate rural houses. Restaurant is also available with great, typical home-cooked style food. Host and staff are friendly and welcoming. A must if you're looking to connect with nature and enjoy a peace and fresh air. Great family atmosphere.

We had a great time at this beautiful family resort. The grounds were very well taken care of. It rained the whole time we were there but the caretaker and his staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We decided to eat breakfast and dinners at the resort and it was all very fresh and abundant. Very local cuisine and the farm fresh eggs were my favorite. Our spanish is very limited but the staff was very patient with us and helped us organize an excursion for the day. The hotel is off the beaten path and was a little difficult to find, the locals were very friendly to help us reach our destination. Not a whole lot around the immediate area but a very relaxing resort to just hang out and enjoy the countryside. Overall, we had a great experience at this resort.

We loved staying here! The staff was helpful and accommodating despite our very poor Spanish. The rooms are basic and clean with a small bathroom and fan - the nights were cool and we didn't want for AC. There's a lovely pool area with a bar and a nice outdoor, communal dining area. We had breakfast each morning and it was delicious. There was live music on Saturday night which is a great touch.

Great location but accommodations need updating. Staff friendly and food centrally located. Cabins ZERO hot water for both nights. Granddaughter on 2 night stay with school travel club. Bugs in the rooms. Iffy!!!would not give it a 3 rating

Great place for enjoying old fashion Dominican style country living. The bohíos are rustic but nice, the gardens very cute and the typical Dominican food made in fogones (wood fire cooking) very good. The place has a terrace for celebrations and a zip line for the adventurous ones.

Rustic retreat. Great hosts! Had a nice time here. Loved the food and the wonderful variety of plants growing. In the heart of mountain cattle ranching area. Would definitely visit again.

We went there - a group of seven in total including kids - and we were initially okay with Los Bohios, but once we checked in, we became aware of the poor state of pretty much everything; the staff would have friends and family come over for pool parties with very loud music and in their underwear; this obviously prevented us from using the pool and the staff seemed oblivious to that. People that were not guests at the hotel, came and went at their free will, giving us a sense of no security.||||We lost electricity on several occasions and we informed the staff of this and they seemed pretty indifferent and did not give us an update at all on when they would turn on the generator. Once they turned on the generator for a bit, but we were then told that they would turn it off again because it had to cool down (!) and they were going to sleep.||||The grounds, especially around the pool were full of garbage; we could hardly believe our eyes; old chip bags, plastic cups and straws in the bushes surrounding the pool area.||||We were and are aware that it is a not a four star hotel, but to keep it cleaned, tidy plus to be aware of the guests needs, such as having electricity available, access to the pool and the staff being around, would be the least that one would expect. ||||Several times we were looking for the staff and they were nowhere to be found. ||||We decided to check out a day earlier than what was reserved and paid for, and a family of 3 that just arrived from the US the night before we left, made the same kind of comments to us and said there were going to try to leave the next day too.||||It is truly a shame, because the place has quite a potential if it was kept clean and the staff was trained properly. It would actually be a place to go back to, if they upped their game considerably.||||So as it is now; we cannot recommend anyone to go there.
