This place is incredible, amazing quality for the price, everything cooked to perfection, and they cook the meat straight from the flat top onto your food. They even have a condiment bar with all the fixings so you can try all the different sauces, extra pico, pickle onions, corn salsa, sour cream, and more. New favorite taqueria in the twin cities, go here now.

Chipotle style layout with more diverse options and hearty portions. Flavors are great (some could use a bit more salt) and delivers excellent value for the price. Great location for this area and plenty of parking. Plenty of seating inside as well. Service is quick and friendly.

The habanero they gave me wasn’t not very hot. I liked the price and how you can build your taco. Will be back to try eating inside $6 for 3 tacos!

Got 6 tacos and the nachos, all substituted with chicken. For under $25. Waitstaff was amazing. Wait time was under 3 min most excellent! the price was very agreeable... Can't say much for the atmosphere for I used the drive through, but the nice young lady at the driverhru complimented, my seven month old puppy then offered her a cup of ice water on a hot day. so five out of five in all categories would recommend for anybody who appreciates real Mexican cuisine.

“Best Burrito Bowl in the North Metro!” “If you’re looking for amazing Mexican street food, Los Cactus is the place to go! Their burrito bowl is hands-down the best in the north metro—fresh ingredients, great flavor, and perfect portions. The entire establishment is spotless, which shows they truly care about their business and customers. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and provides top-notch service, making the experience even better. Plus, the prices are a great value for the quality of food you get. Highly recommend checking this place out!”

I come to this restaurant almost every day for lunch because the food is great and the overall vibe is solid. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, which makes the experience enjoyable. However, there are one or two employees—particularly a short woman who seems to think she runs the place—who consistently bring down the experience. Today she refused to hand over an online order and gave unnecessary attitude, which isn't the first time it's happened. It’s frustrating to deal with that kind of behavior when everything else about the place is so good. I want to be clear: this review is not about the entire staff, just the few individuals who don’t seem to value customer service. Management really needs to address this issue before it drives away loyal customers.

Yelp
New Restaurant - Aug 2024 Los Cactus is a semi-fast food type of set-up, where you order at the counter (think similar to Chipotle's style). There is a salsa/condiments "fixings" bar that you can get fresh lime, cilantro, pickled red onions, corn mix, sliced cucumbers, etc. Seat yourself after you get your food at the counter. I ordered Al Pastor Bowl. (Not pictured) It was flavorful pork, but a a bit more on fatty side than I prefer. I added pico de gallo, cheese, cilantro, onion. You get to pick 2 sides-I chose rice and grilled green peppers and onions for my bowl. I added their hot red salsa which was garlicky and spicy. Beef Taco Birriria with Consume (like aus jus, for dipping): An order comes with 3 Fried barbocoa beef tacos with cheese. Dip the crunchy tacos in the consume soup sauce. You'll be amazed on how good this tastes! The second and third time I went (yep, it's that good), I got a chicken (pollo) huarache. It's a large big slab of corn-based flatbread with the chicken, iceberg lettuce and cheese on top. (Think like a flatbread with toppings). It was DELICIOUS! When you order, they will ask for your choice of red or green salsa (or both) to cook your chicken. I went with red salsa-it was so good! I would say it has a mild heat. I added more toppings to my huarache: picked red onions, corn, & more red spicy salsa from their condiments bar. Get their mango or cantaloupe drink. You won't regret it! (Pictured: Cantaloupe drink) Free parking lot available, but it gets busy, so arrive early. Price: ~$21 for 2 Entrees Service: Lots of staff, friendly, and fast. Overall: 9.4/10

Yelp
I have been looking forward to trying Los Cactus since they opened up recently near my home. On our local community page, people were raving about it! Many people saying it's better than Chipotle! I went to get take out around 4 on a Sunday. Parking lot was nearly full but I quickly found a spot. It was busy inside but I got helped right away! I was surprised at how many staff were working, so many! Staff were kind and quick - I was in and out in minutes. I really appreciated them keeping my chips separate so they didn't get soggy on my drive home. Our total of $18 and some change was great for two full meals. I also appreciated the free cold toppings and sides you can take little containers of. My drive home was less than 5 minutes and my husband and I dug in right away! My husband's first words were "this is better than chipotle". After a few bites, we both looked at each other and agreed that it was literally room temp. Not warm, room temperature! Less than 10 minutes of it being prepped keep in mind. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It really brought down the quality and my husband ended up taking back his statement of it being better than Chipotle. The food itself was tasty and we appreciated the many options of meat and toppings. You can really customize things easily here! The chips were fresh tasting and yummy! The portion sizes were good as well. The building itself was nice, clean, and I really liked the cactus theme throughout. I also noticed they have a drive through that I believe is open for late night which is nice. We plan to try again but eat there and during a less busy time! I would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Looking for a new taco spot? Check out Los Cactus. They've got plenty of choices for meals and it's all delicious. They are a quick service joint, you tell them what you want and they'll make it for you fresh. They've got a small dining area, but it does the job. They've have a cool little section for salsas and extras, which is nice if you want to spruce up your meal.

Yelp
Food was amazing Great flavor Great portions The perfect amount of meat in your tacos Prices are affordable then most of any other taco shops Service in drive thru was great Definitely going back, this place needs to get more customers in. 10/10 recommended Customer service was like no other, 10/10

Yelp
We got a chicken enchilada with red sauce, asada taco, asada chimichanga, and carnitas burrito. The drinks were mango and horchata. The salsas were amazing! Everything was soooo good. Also, while we were there, the line never stopped - and that was right up until closing!

Yelp
This restaurant used to be an Asian restaurant that was owned by my coworker family. We used to grab food from there when we were in the area. When I drove by, I was surprised a Mexican restaurant has taken over. We stopped by the other day and was surprised they were more like a Chipotle. Go up to the counter and you'll see the spread of toppings. I ordered street tacos, they were pretty good. My daughter ordered burrito bowl and she said she can only taste the rice. My niece ordered the burrito and she said she can only taste the beans. I'm not sure if the rice and beans was more seasoned than the meats? There's a salsa station in the end where you can help yourself to sauces, pickled onions and jalapeños, and other toppings. Service is really quick, they have 2 lines to choose. The colors of the restaurant was what caught my attention, it's yellow and green. Very bright inside and outside.

Yelp
I arrived on Grand Opening Day for the 9:00a open. I followed an employee in just after 9:00..made my way to the counter where the woman greeted me with: we're not open. We don't open until 10:00. I showed her the facebook event that said 9:00 before leaving. No problem, so I told the couple that was coming in that they wren't open and we told another woman that had just parked. I returned around 10:30 to order and Al Pastor burrito for their $5.95 opening day burrito special. When I said burrito I watched as a tortilla was grabbed and put in the tortilla warmer. Had the thought: oh like Chipotle? The warmer didn't work so she went over to another one. I did opt for rice, it was Spanish Rice....a fun option rather than just white or brown! There was fajita type peppers & onions, I asked for peppers. I was appreciative that she scooped up just the tiniest amount of onions too. Easier for me to pick out! I also opted for guacamole and lettuce. There was no extra cost for the guac, thanks! There was another type of guac looking condiment in the end options that I also opted for. There is like a small salsa bar at the end that I didn't stop at. I appreciate that the ordering counter is essentially divided, so two customers can be helped at once, helping the line move quicker. The staff were friendly and efficient. The burrito? So good and so filling! The item that there was the most of in my burrito and was not skimped on? The meat! There was so much of it in there! Definitely your money's worth... as it should be. Thanks Los Cactus you definitely made a fan of me and I am looking forward to my next meal from you! Los Cactus is easy to get to; just south of 694, right on Central and with their big sign, you can't miss them. There was a $1.00 charge on my receipt, I didn't notice it until I got the email receipt when I got home, I'd assume it's their credit card fee? Which I'm fine with since it was a minor fee, but maybe put i[ a sign? Maybe there was one, I didn't see. Just an FYI, thanks.

Yelp
One of the worker was displeased to serve me. He had an attitude even though i spoke loudly on what i wanted. He didn't seem to understand english and muttered under his breath in spanish while he attempted to make what i ordered. Will not go back again

Yelp
Excellent food! We ordered burritos, elote, and queso. The quality of the food was surpassed only by the enthusiasm of the staff. A new favorite spot!! The restaurant was clean and updated. Looking forward to sampling the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Good service. Windows on 3 sides, so nice and bright. Tried the Tacos combo asada with mild salsa, came with 3 sides. Fries lacked any crunch, ketchup would be better if it was in a mini bowl from a pump instead of packets. Corn with sauce was great. Sauteed peppers/onions great. Asada lacked flavor. Regret downgrading to the mild salsa. For the barbacoa bowl my options included rice/beans (was not sure what the other choice was). Then Pico de Gallo, guacamole (no extra cost), cilantro, lettuce. The barbacoa was tender and flavorful. I will definitely return for the barbacoa bowl. Delicious. Mango drink was nice. Not too sweet. The elote was great. Never tried it before. Will return to sample rest of the menu. Glad it is close to home.

Yelp
Thought I would give Los Cactus another try to be fair, and also because according to both their Yelp and Facebook pages (still no actual website) they were supposed to be open until 11:00 PM. Even though I was not blown away with my first experience I knew it would be miles better than some fast food drive through that was open. I found them closed by 9:55 after making the trip. Very annoying, and the experience does not encourage me to keep trying to spend money there.
