Set high above the lake, a five-minute walk down to the shore, this small hotel is a charming retreat. However, having reserved a premium room advertised on Expedia as lake view with a photo illustrating a full lake view with two big windows, I was unhappy to be taken to a small, garden-view room. After a lot of confusion we were finally given a big ground-floor room with a peak of the lake to the far left. The very nice woman assured me that this was a premium room. If I understand correctly when you pay for a premium room you get this or the one with the real lake view. Before booking I would check with the hotel to make sure you’re going to get the second floor lake view. Otherwise, the hotel was small and very comfortable. The bed and linens were excellent, the furnishings lovely. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub before dinner, but the pool was too murky to swim. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and it was simple and good. No menu, just an offer of fish or meat, vegetables, salad, or potatoes. The sautéed veg were the best we had in Chile, a country that seems (despite the summer season) not to favor vegetables.

This charming small hotel was perfect for us. Situated a short drive outside town (filled with a lot of very touristy hotels that I am so glad we avoided), it was quiet with a beautiful view to the lake from our room and the common areas. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the room very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We ate at the hotel four of the five nights of our stay, as we were very tired after long (and beautiful) hikes, and it was just very relaxing. We took a soak in the wood-heated hot tub and had dinner there. Dinner options were basic but tasty, and the staff were fabulous. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

This small hotel was very welcoming with helpful and friendly staff one of whom spoke very good English. The beds were large and comfortable with beautiful fresh bed linen. The lounge areas were stylish and cosy based round a lovely fire. The breakfast was very good too with fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice. The views of the lake are great and the grounds beautifully kept. Unfortunately we were not there at the right time to use the swimming pool. Would highly recommend it.

This is a beautifully built and decorated boutique hotel where we enjoyed a short break and a bit more luxury than the rest of our travels in central Chile. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly when we had an issue with one of our flights. Excellent chef and attractive gardens. It was raining during our stay, but we did enjoy the short walk down to the lake.

This is a lovely accommodation - very comfortable and well appointed. A peaceful setting with a lake view. The grounds are well maintained and there are outdoor seating areas as well as a pool.||Service was very attentive. We had 2 dinners at the hotel and enjoyed them both. A very good breakfast is provided.

If I am to choose one place in the world to be the one for me it is here, in Puerto Varas. Beautiful natural surrounding, wooden hotel which is like being in a tale with all good taste and people looking after you. Delicious vanilla icecream, relaxing hot tab at night watching a starry sky, Elsa the delicate guardian dog who respects all sites though playful if you are, good food fresh and natural. Full of lovely details such as books offered to be read and flowers decorating each strategic table, colorful but peaceful, neat and cosy, I thank all the people in charge, even those who are there for short periods like Desenka. Thanks Gabi and Gustavo the chef and all the lovely company who made our stay unforgetable. Hope to be back next year.

This hotel has it all, the staff could not have been more welcoming or friendly, thank goodness for Diego who helped us so much with directions, advice, booking taxis and looking up the birds we had seen. This quaint hotel has lovely large clean rooms, nothing is ever any trouble for the staff, they are really so accommodating. We ate in the restaurant twice as the food was so good. A really wonderful experience.||The hotel is about fifteen minutes out of Puerto Varas but the busses run frequently from outside the hotel or you can get a taxi. In Puerto Varas there is a tourist information centre right on the shores of the lake, here you can book your excursions. Round to the right of the tourist office you can find boat trips that go out for about one hour which were good. Or you can use the local buses, we went into Frutillier, and also to Ensenada, not much there but we went on to Petrohue where the scenery is fantastic and another lake Lago Todos Los Santos where you can take a boat trip around this smaller lake, another view of Volcano Osorno.||Lots to see and do in this area.

This is what 5 star hotel experiences are made of. The hotel sits on a truly gorgeous property with friendly staff, a delicious and large breakfast included, and extremely comfortable rooms. I could have stayed in this bed forever. Even the bath products were top notch. The hotel is a little outside of Puerto Varas, but it is a very quick and easy drive in. Come here for relaxation and amazing service from beginning to end!
