We just had the most incredible Mexican meal—hands down the best we've ever tasted. The fajitas were sizzling, savory perfection, with every bite packed with authentic, bold flavors. And the fresh guac? Absolutely next level—creamy, zesty, and made right before our eyes. The food felt like a true celebration of Mexican culinary tradition. And to top it all off, Dennis, our amazing server, was kind, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. This dinner was pure joy—we can’t wait to come back!

We stumbled upon this spot by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The tacos were fantastic, and the quality of the food really stood out. Jasmin, our waitress, was attentive and added to the positive experience with her friendly service. This place is definitely worth a visit.

I would say this is the most authentic Mexican food you can get in Toronto if not in Canada. Pretty basic and simple but extremely fresh and good quality food. Bit difficult to get a parking and you might have to wait to get your table but service is quick and efficient. Prices are on little on a high side but Serving is huge. We tried few different beef and chicken tacos and beef Nachos and everything was delicious. Our server Brenda was just awesome. Will definitely visit again.

My woman brought me to Las Gyros Mexican Restaurant for round two, and let’s just say I’m ready to move in. The tacos were so good, that I almost told the chef my deepest secrets and the gyro. It was like a love story in every bite — tender, juicy, and way more exciting than my last date night. The customer service? Amazing. They treated us like VIPs — or like we were the most important people in the room (which, let’s be real, we were). Second visit, but not the last. I’m coming back for the food and the romance.

What a fun spot. The flavours were just right. We absolutely loved the pollo tacos. The vibe was nice and the service was fast and amazing. They were all so sweet to interact with. We also enjoyed the chicken fajita and flour tortillas. Everything was just so fresh. Cannot wait to be back. Parking is tough but the place is nice and warm. Worth a bit of a walk even in the cold. Its total value for money too.

The waiters are all really kind especially a waiter called Dennis. He lightens my mood whenever I see him, I think it’s because of the positive energy. At the start, they give a free bowl of chips. Now about the food. They’re meat is really tender and juicy, making a combination of utter most perfection. Also, they have have a wonderful de choice of drinks exciting both children and adults with the taste and decoration at its peak. Plus, later in the evening, an amazing singer comes out and preforms for the whole restaurant, drowning the customers in their own or shared happiness. There’s also TVs around the room that play sport games. I’m a basketball fan :). Unfortunately, I forgot to take any photos before I gulped it all down with my family except for one. Sorry to anyone reading🙃. Everything is great though.

Good food but was too loud, food portion was great. Love their spicy sauce. Must visit with friends to try Mexican. 🤗

I want to start saying I was born and raised in Mexico and let me tell you this are the BEST TACOS I’ve ever had in Toronto. I’ve gone to so many Mexican restaurants and some of them are good, others are bad, but this one is legit the MEXICAN TASTE you’re looking for. I can’t stress this enough for anyone who genuinely wants to taste the real Mexican food, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!! I want to add that I’ve been coming here for years. And I even bought kilos of their different meats for my husbands birthday party. That’s how reliable and confident this restaurant is for me. And I hope that all the people that are far away from home and just want a little bit of their Mexican food, know this is home!!!

Yelp
Oh this place is amazing. It's soooo busy. But it is one of my favourite spots. The food is so good and service is amazing. Everyone that is working there is always on the go and on top of things. The food is sooo good and amazing. You know a place is good with the same ethnicity of the food also eat there.

Yelp
Great value for terrific food and live music in North York! On a Saturday night at 6:15, it was already packed, and we had to wait about 15-20 minutes. It seemed like the majority of the customers were Latino, so that should already tell you something about how good this is! There was a singer who started performing at 8:00, but he was so nondescript that many people didn't even notice him-- no spotlight, no introduction; just a guy in a ball cap, plaid shirt, and jeans crooning away underneath the onscreen recap of a boxing match. His voice was so smooth, and just the perfect volume. In terms of food, the standouts were the nachos al pastor (it came with meat, pineapple, and guacamole) and the strawberry daiquiri (a decently-priced, generous portion). The saltiness of the nachos were perfect with the sweetness of the daiquiri. Tip: Do not try to park next door, in front of the pizza place. The poor servers have to walk around with a picture of the car to look for the customer who parked there. There's plenty of free parking in the neighbourhood around the restaurant!

Yelp
This is the closest you can get to experience Mexican cuisine in Toronto. The place is always packed with Latino folks and that speaks to how they approve of this place. They even have live music entertainment on some weekends. Food portions are good. The nacho is massive and the Suadero and Sirloin tacos are really tasty. Also don't miss out on the drinks. All being said, it's not a fancy place. So, go there with the right expectations

Yelp
I can on a Saturday afternoon with friends. They don't take reservations, and my friend said it gets very busy very fast, so we got there about 10 minutes after it opened. When we arrived, it was already maybe a quarter full. We were seated right away. We ordered 3 types of tacos (suadero, Al pastor, and one of the specials), as well as a place of nachos with added beef. The portion of the nachos were HUGE and they were very cheesy and loaded with goodness. The tacos themselves were also well-loaded with varying degrees of flavour. My favourite was the special (which I don't recall the name unfortunately)) followed by the suadero. We also had a bunch of nachos left over to take home. There was a long line-up by the time we left, so definitely arrive early if you want a seat!

Yelp
Dropped in on Friday around 6 and the restaurant was almost full. I'd recommend coming early! Got the chips and guacamole & queso (mozzarella) to start. The queso was not melted and very difficult to eat... wouldn't recommend. Also got the 4 piece al pastor tacos which came generously with meat. My friend got the sirloin and it was very tender.
google avatar

Yelp
The tacos here are as authentic to Mexico as you can find in Toronto. They have tortas here is well. Complimentary totopos are brought to the table. There are 4 salsas to try. One is sweet and one it hot. The others are tame. There is a good selection of meats to choose from. Portions are generous. Drink and cocktails are available too. Parking sucks. You may have to look around the neighborhood to find a space.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious tacos. We were surprised there was a special that day (Wed) it was buy one get one al pastor tacos. I tried the al pastor, steak and shredded beef. I liked the steak one the most but al pastor was pretty good too. Service was good. Every table got a free bowl of chips as well. Would recommend and come back again

Yelp
Amazing taco spot! Food is so good and the staff are super friendly. Special shout out to Mauricio who made our experience amazing! This place regularly has lines from how popular it is, especially around weekends and warmer months. The vibes are so fun inside with mariachi bands playing and football on the TVs. Every taco is absolutely delicious, my favourite being al pastor with the sweetness of the pineapple. They offer a variety of sauces to pair with your taco, in addition to complementary fresh made tortilla chips. Definitely recommend stopping by if you can, the wait is worth it!
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
best taco in TOWN!!!! true authentic mexican tacos found in this north york spot. Parking is very limited and can get super busy so a wait for a table could take some time but food is worth the wait. Our favourites are the al pastor, sirloin, carna asada and chorizo tacos!! sooo flavourful and not stingy on the meat. They also give fresh chips and salsa at the start of your meal and their homemade pineapple salsa is out of the world!!! Always look forward to coming back!

Yelp
I came here randomly to try some Mexican food and this is by far the most authentic Mexican food in Toronto. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and I can't wait to bring people here. The service is spot on and we didn't wait long but I could tell this place could get quite busy with a 1.5 hour seating limit
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
We were all delightfully surprised. We came because of the positive review. The tacos were loaded with shawarma meat and the nachos were a large portion. The vibe reminded of Mexico, casual with banquet chairs, loud music and staff in uniforms. We would come back again especially for the live music!

Yelp
Great spot for tacos in North York. The place feels very authentic and simple. Parking is confusing at first but they have people guiding you and there's ample space in the back. Menu is quite extensive with lots of options but me and my party were there specifically for tacos. We ordered the Rosca de tacos mixta which gave us an opportunity to try 4 of their options. Stand out for me was the suadero with the nice fatty tenderness and the al pastor. The salsas they have are great, the salsa Verde stood out the most, but they have food variety with different flavors/spice levels. The tacos were a bit small for the price so the 4 tacos are a must. Service was great and everything came out quickly even on a busy Sunday.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
Very good Mexican food with a variety of choices. The service was decent/friendly, nothing spectacular, and they do have a 90min time limit per table. Loved the murals and overall vibe. The drinks were tasty but hardly any alcohol detected, disappointing for the price. Molcajete was very good and priced well.
google avatar

Lexia R.

Yelp
The food was very good and the meat was good quality. We tried three different types of tacos: al pastor, chicken/pollo and pork. Overall, it was an authentic experience with the ambiance being fun and live singer on Friday's! There was a variety of sauces to put on top of the tacos. Overall, the tacos were all good but the stand out taco type was - Al Pastor - it was excellent. The guac and chips was excellent as well. In addition we had alcoholic drinks - I had a pina colada - it was great. The service was mediocre but sufficient. Overall, I enjoyed my time there and I would return. Although, they are not the best tacos I've ever had - they were still very tasty and the atmosphere made it really enjoyable. I recommend coming for a good time and food!

Yelp
Such a great spot in Toronto for Mexican food/drinks. Everything I've eaten here so far has been amazing. First things first, when you get here it's limited parking in the back so you'll maybe have to find a spot somewhere else . There's been someone at the front to greet you and as you enter the restaurant there's pretty great energy. You can sit there for a min and know that all the staff work together like a well oiled machine. As soon as you sit down, shortly after you're welcomed with chips and salsa. Now for the food. All the meats have good flavour and they have multiple meats on spits for rotation in the kitchen. They have plenty of options to choose from and to be honest it really reminded me of tacos you'd get in the states...which if you know you know type of vibe- amazing. Drinks are also various and depending on what you want, they've probably got your classics and more. Would totally recommend this spot to someone and it has been added to a Toronto fav.

Yelp
If you're driving on Sheppard this establishment might not catch your eye. However now that I know it exists I NEED to go back. We went there an hour before it closed and there was still a line up to get in. Not only that there was live music - it was such a fun experience. The food, AMAZING! Reminded me of tacos I got when I was in LA not even a week before. I cannot wait to go back and try more food items. It says a lot when my picky of an eater husband even plans to come back. I got the Al Pastor tacos and everything was so flavourful!!!

Yelp
Only ever ordered take out but at least 5x now and everytime has been delicious and tasty, and warm and so perfect. Can't wait to dine in!

Yelp
The ambience and vibe is super authentic Mexican. Went there with my girlfriend and we ordered the sirloin tacos, chicken tacos, queso fundidos, and tres leches cake desert. The portions of protein on the food are outstanding (we struggled to finish it) and food was very tasty. Service was great and friendly, and they spoke Spanish and/or English with us. I'm glad I found this gem near our house, and will be coming back for more on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yelp
Finally tried the place I've been curious about during drive-bys and grabbed a quick dinner. Sampled Al Pastor Tacos, Beef Sirloin Tacos, and Chicken Fajita. The Al Pastor was less juicy than hoped but decent. The rest? Fantastic--generous portions that highlighted the ingredients' best traits. It's now a go-to for Mexican cravings, though Itcante remains my pick for a homier food vibe. Just wish parking was less of a hassle.

Yelp
Might be a some of the best Mexican food in the city. When you step inside you are greeted by staff promptly. This is a bustling restaurant that gives a family-feel. Food comes out piping hot and you can see the spits of meat inside the kitchen. Pricing is fair and portions are huge. 10/10

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Toronto, this spot should ABSOLUTELY be on your must visit list. Tucked away in a modest plaza is where you can find this impressive gem. Upon walking in, you're greeted not only by the appetizing aroma of food, but also with a cozy, homelike ambiance. I came here with my friends and family on the weekend to a completely full house. While it does take some time to get your food after ordering, you get complimentary chips with dip and it serves as the perfect entree to your eventual meal. We ordered a number of popular items on the menu and the food was delicious! The tacos were savoury and fresh, and the nachos (good for 3-4 people) were really flavourful (they had pineapple in it and it added a surprise sweetness that worked) and crispy. This place is usually full, but the food and the amazing service alone is worth it! Your taste buds will thank you!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening, and what can I say... I definitely stumbled across a gem. What used to be craves, an old bar, has now been taken over by Los Gyros. And absolutely, what a treat. If you're looking for authentic tacos, nachos, Mexican food, come here. It can feed a person, a family, a big group (to split platters)... it caters to all. Since we came here with a group of 8, we ordered a platter with 20 tacos, and an order of nachos. Hot sauces all around, complimentary nachos. Mmmmmmmmmm! YUMMY! Food was fresh, authentic, and flavourful. Would highly recommend checking this spot out!!!!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Dropped by after rock climbing at true north. It was pretty busy around 8 pm. They offer a platter of 20 tacos for about $100. You get 4 different flavours, but apparently they ran out of most proteins so we only had two options. Apparently, every table gets a complimentary plate of tortilla chips, but we didn't get one until it was asked. Questionable. The food is good. Decent amount of meat. Bring your own utensils

Yelp
I recently moved into the neighbourhood and was surprised that an authentic Mexican taco joint lived nearby! And this is authentic. The family-owned business seemed to serve a primarily Mexican clientele, which was our first indication of something special. The tacos are real. Nothing fancy - just exactly as you would expect from Mexican street tacos. However, the meat is fresh, and the sauces really enhance the flavours. Two small negatives. First, I agree with the comments from others that the price is a bit high for what you get. Secondly, service was a bit slow. However they were busy and likely understaffed, as with most restaurants. I suppose these are realities of restaurant dining in 2022. I would recommend this place if you're in the area!
google avatar

Cin C.

Yelp
I personally love places like this, where it's family run and the food is quality and quantity. The space is decorated with little nods to Mexico without being too kitschy or overwhelming. There are also large screens around playing sports, so I would image it would be a good place to catch the game of the day. We ordered the Fajitas (chicken, bell peppers, onions with four flour tortillas) and Al Pastor Tacos (al pastor, onion, cilantro and pineapples). The food came quickly once we ordered. The Fajitas came sizzling on a hot plate, keeping the generous portion of chicken and peppers heated as we ate. I liked the balance of the savory chicken to the sweetness of the pepper and onions. To kick it up a notch, the green salsa brought some freshness, while the orange hot sauce brought the spice. A great combo! I sneaked an Al Pastor Taco also, and it was delicious. Only criticism was not enough cilantro (hardly any to be found). Simple no-fuss great-portioned Mexican food. Will be back when the craving hits.
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
Like I stepped into a taco joint in Guadalajara. This place is legit. The tacos are authentic with nothing fancy piled on top. They are meat forward like that are meant to be. A simple onion and cilantro mix to enhance the flavours. When you walk in, you get 5 different kinds of salsa on the table along with some chips. Each has a distinct flavour and spice level. They are meant for the tacos as well. I tried the Carnitas, Sirloin and Pollo. Each were filled up and tasted amazing. You can tell they are dedicated to cooking the meat properly. I had a flan for desert that was outstanding. This place is busy, so be aware you may have to wait. The ambiance is ok, but the food is the real shining star here. It was a bit smokey inside so be aware you clothes will smell a bit. All in all a fantastic place.

Yelp
My wife and I absolutely love Mexican food. We've been to many of the great spots around the GTA but not too long ago this place opened up down the street from us and we've been there a few times since. They have the best tacos I've had in the GTA and the closest to the tacos you can get in Mexico from a street vender or authentic restaurant(only difference is the price) a corn tortilla, perfectly seasoned protein with cilantro and chopped onion are the main ingredients for each taco and that's all that's needed. Every time we go, the place is busy with members of the Latino community so you know it's legit. All their tacos are great but the chorizo and chicken al pastor are my favourite. My wife is a big fan of their Nachos Sirloin which are very basic but loaded with cheese and well seasoned beef sirloin and are def made for sharing. They also serve everything with 5 different salsas in their own individual bottle ranging from mild to very spicy. Staff are also very nice and helpful in regards to the menu. Very highly recommended and we will be frequently visiting for lunch or dinner on their patio during the summer.
google avatar

Rich G.

Yelp
Not Tex-Mex, Mex-Mex. The sirloin nacho platter was the winner. Four sauces at the table which start at pretty hot. I was told they have a fifth even hotter sauce available. Wow!

Valerie I.

Yelp
Delicious food, love the atmosphere of the place. Always recommend when friends want good tacos
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
I'm by no means a taco expert but I've eaten plenty of disappointing tacos in this city and elsewhere. This is the first time I've eaten tacos and craved them the week after... Los Gyros seems like an authentic neighbourhood joint pushing out really well made Mexican food. They've also got excellent mojitos and margaritas with this really luscious texture that you generally don't get elsewhere. / When you sit down, they'll normally bring you some chips with their variety of sauces -- try them all and find your favourites so that you can add a bit (to taste) to your taco selection. I've tried the Al Pastor, Suadero, Carne Asada and Chorizo tacos and all are fingerlicking good. I find the tacos here so much more flavourful even without the sauces. Sometimes the meat can feel a bit dry at other places, or somehow lacking in seasoning. Here you get bomb after bomb of deliciousness. If you're into purin, the flan is silky smooth and wonderful. The tres leches cake looks kind of soggy but the texture is oddly addictive and is very tasty!

Armine S.

Yelp
Amazing service and food, you have to come here. Tacos are great, portions for main dishes are quite big so be ready.
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty Mexican food. Price is reasonable and staffs are friendly. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Stopped by unexpectedly with my son on a Saturday evening. They told me it would be a 45 min wait, but rushed us in when the staff asked my son how hungry he was. They really bent over backwards for us. My son had the horchata for the first time. It's his new favourite drink. I had a michelada, made me believe I was Tijuana. The tacos were absolutely amazing. Was more than enough to fill myself and my son. And we are big taco eaters. Overall, this place does not break the bank, has quality food and the staff was absolutely awesome. I've been back 5 times in the last month. That how much I love this place. Did I forget to say there was karaoke mariachi on Saturdays. Mint!
google avatar

R C.

Yelp
Came here for the tacos. The restaurant was so busy and packed on Sunday around 6:30 pm. The food were so yummy and tasty. Had the Al Pastor, Suaduro and Chicken tacos. The meat wasn't dried and the flavors were quite nice and fresh with the lime, cilantro, onion, cucumbers and radishes. We ordered the "4 orders of taco" for each taco and split it between 2 people. The food was enough for 2 people. FYI, you won't find tomatoes, lettuce and cheese on authentic Mexican tacos and these tacos are the authentic kind.

Terence N.

Yelp
I've drove past this place plenty of times and noticed every single time it was packed and full The tacos were incredible really authentic classic tacos I think I found my new favourite spot

Janae W.

Yelp
Best Mexican food I've had in Toronto! Atmosphere of very lively and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I would say it's a tad bit pricey, but very worth the money spent
google avatar

Soroush F.

Yelp
Best tacos in Toronto. The sirloin and al pastor are the standout taco meats. Great salsas as well
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
Quite possibly the most legit and best tasting tacos in Toronto and finally a real taco joint in North York. So glad these guys opened up here!

Scott M.

Yelp
Decent food. More of a chain waiting to be. Mexican food place to watch UFC or hockey etc. Not a destination foodie place. 3.5 stars. Protein could be better than scoop n serve - what it is let;s be honest please. Pretty basic. You could make it at home better than this without trying that hard. Come on..

E B.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican taqueria. Delicious Al Pastor & Arrachera. Generous Portions. Friendly service

Chrystal S.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Price was a tad expensive but the quality of food made up for it. Service was great as well. The only downside was no domestic beer. No biggie, still a solid 4 stars.

Ernesto S.

Yelp
Not the best place to spend your time and money. The service was okay but their attitude was not
